In the headlines I posted a clip of the D.C. Meet & Greet which showed Cookie in a suit. I couldn’t find a link to corroborate but from the comments to the clip it seems Cookie was dressed up to take part in a Senate hearing for cancer awareness on Capitol Hill.

FYI- According to someone who was talking to Jeff for a long time today or yesterday, after DC the idols probably wont be coming out after the concerts.

The crowds have been getting to rowdy, too much shoving/pushing/running each other over etc etc.

Archie is looking older to me lately. I don’t want him to grow up yet!

I loved seeing Cook in that suit. He looked very, VERY handsome. I agree, Archie is looking some older recently. His shoulders are broadening from the back or something, and his face is getting a little bit longer?, dunno, but he does seem to be maturing just a little bit. One think I didn’t like about those still photos was that everyone appeared a little shorter and thicker, heavier to me (other than the two, blonde stick figures that is) LOL…..hey, now I’m just kidding there about Brooke and KLC. I guess they can’t help it if they are tall, thin, blonde, and beautiful now can they, lol lol.

Really good MAVIS tonight. Why, it actually looked choreographed, lol. The timing, the moves, I think were worked out more carefully in advance. It had a beginning, middle, and end….a little skit if you will. Quite cute!!!!

ETA: Cook seems to have an oral fixation of late, lol. I’ve been seeing him put things in his mouth a lot….like a purse, stuffed animal, water bottle, etc.

So many things about David Cook haven’t changed a bit. Look back at his old pre-idol pictures and you see him posing with his old friends just like the Mavid picture just up thread. He’s sure a touchie kinda guy, always on top of his friends like in that Michael one. I just love it for some reason.

Does anybody have CSpan footage of DC on Capitol Hill?

Congress is not in session right now and there was nothing listed on yesterday’s schedule for either the House or the Senate. I could be wrong (it’s been years since I’ve worked up there) but it may be that David Cook was at a more informal discussion for staffers. Lance Armstrong did something similar when I worked up there – he gave an informal discussion to staffers interested in health issues. If that’s what it was it is unlikely there is any c-span footage but there may have been some press attendance. I apologize if I’m wrong.

On the concert, where did they hold the meet and greets? I was over by the Verizon Center at lunchtime and couldn’t for the life of me figure out where they would do it (for those that don’t know, the Verizon Center is smack in the middle of Chinatown surrounded by shops and restaurants. The tour bus parking is underground). Was it on the 6th street side?

From his raw interview, David A’s voice seems to have deepened a bit. He’s still adorable, though. He comes across so naturally. Not self conscious at all.

Wonder why he wasn’t asked about his new single. Would have been interesting to know some back stories on the song.

Okay, has anyone else wondered how our hot, sweaty guy managed to look so “cool” in that suit.

Also, and this is something I’ve been noticing for the longest time, when DC sings PDSTM, (also noticed this from group numbers on the show) his left arm many times hangs by his side. I have found this to be another endearing DC trademark and hope it never, ever goes away! (Of course how many group numbers will he be doing when he does his solo tour(s) hee hee:)).

Yeah his voice is still settling in a bit. It got lower over the course of the show too(he was about 3-4 notes lower by the end of the show since his audition). His voice coach said it might deepen a bit but it will probably get richer too.

Oh guys and gals, thank you so so much for all this! I just love Mavid, MJ, Archie, all of it, all of them. Cook is totally endearing himself even MORE, if that’s possible, to his fans at this point. I am beyond thrilled that he gets to do things now that are important to him, things he couldn’t have gotten done this time last year. And he’s DOING it, taking every chance he’s got now. I went to the DC show and it was awesome!!! My favorites of the night were Michael, Carly, and David Cook. I also got to meet all of them (except for Chikezie) outside before the show and they were great with the fans. I was fortunate enough to witness the Mavid dance off and enjoyed the hell out of it!!! Plus I got Michael and Carly to take a “Marly” picture together for me (unfortunately someone stuck their arm in the middle of it, but I still love it).

I know this is a little late, but I wanted to post my full review (it’s also posted on the AI website), so here it is :

I attended the DC concert and I had a blast !!! We arrived outside the Verizon Center and a crowd was waiting to meet the Idols. They all (except for Chikezie) came out around 2:15 pm and we got autographs and pictures from most of them. We even witnessed the Mavid dance off and took pictures of it. My favorites are Michael, Carly & David Cook, so I got autographs and pictures of them (and even got a “Marly” picture of Michael and Carly). All of the Idols were great with the fans.

On to the show :

I can’t remember every song that each one Idol sang, so I’ll comment on each performer and list their best song

Chikezie – he was a great opener and got the crowd going right away. He sounded really good and looked like he was having lots of fun on stage. His best song was the first one (I can’t remember the name)

Ramiele – she was so cute and tiny and I liked her outfit. She sounded better than all the earlier reviews said and I loved the upbeat Jackson 5 song that she did.

Michael – He rocked it out. The crowd really got going when he came on and I loved all of his songs!!! He sounded so good and looked gorgeous too. His best song was Dream On, but I loved all three of them. He was such a trip outside earlier talking with the fans, and he sang and danced for us, and I loved hearing his sexy accent.

Kristy Lee – I was not a big fan of hers on the show, but she looked pretty and sounded better than I expected. She did really well on God Bless the USA and everyone loved that song.

Carly – She’s my favorite of the girls (and one of my top 3), so I loved all of her songs. I also thought her outfit was very cool (esp. the tall boots). She sounded amazing on Bring Me to Life and Crazy on You and she had such great stage presence. She thanked everyone for supporting the Idols and sounded like she got choked up talking about it (which I thought was very nice). I also love her accent and think she’s a cool rocker chick!!!

Brooke – I was never a big Brooke fan, but she’s so nice that you have to like her. Her set was really cheery and upbeat and I loved it when she sang Let it Be while playing the piano.

I loved the Idols Gives Back song with the top 6, especially the “Marly” moment at the top of the stage (I just love when the sing duets together).

Jason – I was never a big Jason fan on the show, but his set was fun to watch (especially when he played the ukilelie-sp??). He has very pretty eyes and the girls loved him. His best song was Over the Rainbow.

Syesha – I liked her on the show and she sounded amazing last night. She also looked very pretty and seemed so happy to be on stage. She sang her butt off on Listen and got a standing ovation from the crowd.

David A. – He sang very well. All of his songs were slow, which was a little boring to me (sorry-I like the rockers better), but he did sound really good. His best song was Stand By Me and I liked the Beautiful Girls part that he added to it. By the way-the screams were deafening when he came out.

David C. – He rocked it out last night !! He looked so good in the suit and he was great with the crowd. I liked all of his songs, esp. Billy Jean and Hello (I’m a fan of 80′s music). I have read other reviews that said he looked smug, but he was the exact opposite last night. He was so good talking to the fans outside before and during the show (he even stayed the longest outside in hot weather with a suit on).

Final Group Song – I loved seeing all of them together again and the Mavid dance was really cute. The show seemed to go by so fast, so it was great to see them again for one last song.

Overall the show and meeting them outside before was one of the neatest and most exciting things I have ever done. I recommend that everyone who is thinking about going does so. It was awesome !!!
