American Idols Live! 2008 – Toronto, Ontario – Canada

I was there – it was amazing. I’ll have pics tomorrow. There were about 200-300 people waiting for the idols before the show – David Cook, Ramiele, Carly, Jason and Brooke came out. Archie was the one who received the biggest cheers during the show, followed by Cook. There were perhaps 400 people waiting after the show – All but Cook and Ramiele showed up.

I’m glad I re-read the title of this thread. With David Cook’s shorter hair-do, when I was watching the “dance-off” segment, I thought the guy in the dark suit was Archuleta, not Cook!

I really liked DC’s t-shirt: It says Geeks for Peace.

David ” I have no business dancing” Cook is a scruffy faced L-I-A-R . He CAN dance. He was nicknamed ” Sugarfoot” by Carly for a reason. See the other footage of Mavid where he is shaking his ass, he is actually perfectly doing the James Brown ” Godfather of Soul” feet shuffle. I needed more evidence than the easy swaying on the group numbers on AI to call him out on it. That man’s protestations have as much worth as Skiis in Sahara.

Oh, and I still want to know where “Sugarfoot” came from, if there was one specific incident or what. Someone should ask Carly.

AAAGGGHHHHHH LOL the dance-off! Hey they gotta have fun, right? I love that they do this every show, apparently. Didn’t “Sugarfoot” originate when Mr Cook “bit it…HARD” during rehearsal for a group number when they were all wearing white and he discovered he could spin on the heels of his white “Tom Jones” boots? Sort of, anyway…hah. Looking forward to more reviews and photos! Thank you everyone. You are keeping me from steadily declining into full Cook withdrawal.

I did my review of the Detroit concert and said I wanted to like Carly, and that Kristy was OK. I did make some positive comments about them, too. Again, it was my personal opinion about their performances. We can all do the same, right?

I love Jason, but agree that he should sing another song. My choice would be “Forever in Bluejeans!”

Are they allowed to change their set this late in the game? I know KLC did, but that was understandable due to the fact that they were in Canada. I loved her version of “Anyway.” Maybe she should keep it in her set?

American Idol Tour Stops In Toronto

I went to the show last night! It was really good and the venue was pretty full! I won’t recap about the concert since there’s already one but I’ll write about my experience at the meet and greets I was fortunate to obtain.

I went to the pre-show and after-show. Meeting the idols when they come out of their busses happened inside the ACC because it was a rainy day. After a bunch of fake-out screams, Ramiele and David Cook came out and started at the end (yay!). I said hi to both of them and they were sweet. It took awhile for David Cook to make his way down. The rest of the idols; I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get their autograph because we had to meet up with a dude to get the passes for the pre-show but I know that all the idols came out except Archuleta, Syesha, Chikezie and Michael Johns (I think because of press). All the people for the pre-show gathered and then walked to the room which was on the upper floor. Now the pre-show was really rushed (the official meet and greets). The idols were behind a table and they had strict rules of no pictures with them and all. All I got to do was say hi and how are you. All of them are so cute! The after-show was filled with much more people. They brought us to a room and it was crowded somewhat. My friend and I first got to talk to Kristy because we were behind her. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s so pretty and sweet. We then went to talk to Ramiele whose boyfriendà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s family came down to support. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s so cool andà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ tiny. Then, we went over to Jason and as everyone says, his eyes are so beautiful. You just get lost in them. He told us that he recorded a song yesterday on his day off for a Mexican movie (and the song was Hallelujah). Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s so adorable! Then, we waited for Michael Johns. My friend and I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t shove ourselves toward the idols so there were a lot of times where we had to wait extra time because new people would just come in and talk to them. Michael Johns kept looking back at us (omg!) and when it was supposed to be us, some lady says hi to him. He turns to us and says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹patiently waiting?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and we laugh and I go to heaven. FINALLY it was us and he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Hi! Comà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢eeeeereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and gives us both a hug. Oh. My. Freakin. Gosh. We talk about him loving Canada and his album being released early next year. My friend and I told him we loved his accent and if he can do an American accent. He goes à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Yeah, I had to do it sometime when I would go to Harveyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s or something and they didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t understand my orderà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and we ask him to do it then and he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Ah, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s kind of like in the moment thingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s embarrassingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and we say à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹PLEASE!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Can I have an order of cheeseburger and fries, pleaseà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ in an American accent. That pretty much made my life. I love Michael Johns. To share some more love, we go to Chikezie. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s so sweet. I ask for a hug and he hugs so tight! Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s such a teddy bear! :) Not wanting to miss a chance to meet David Archuleta, we wait for him. It was finally us and we talk about him also loving Toronto and how he went shopping yesterday. My friend asks if he opened our gift (he remembered us from the pre-show) and he said he hasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t had the time to open gifts. My friend says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹well ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s two Batman shirtsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and he goes à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹the blue and black one?!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and she says yes and he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹oh my gosh I LOVE BATMANà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢. We are interrupted by a woman who asks if he has a girlfriend and he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹not yetà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and then he turns to us and says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹did you give it to anyone else?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and she says no and then he says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹oh so Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m special!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ Yeah, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s adorable. And then, we look around and go to talk to Brooke. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a sweetheart. I said how I loved her voice and she says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹thank you! That means so muchà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ and then I ask her when she started playing the piano and guitar and she says à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹about 5 years agoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s adorable as well. We missed a chance to meet Syesha (boo!) and David Cook was too popular so we went to Carly who is shorter than I thought she would be. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s beautiful and I love her accent as well. Then, the party was over. I wish we got to talk to Syesha and David Cook though! They had to go out for the after-show signing which was filled with even more people than before the show. My friend and I walked by looking at the crowd and feeling good!
