ETA:

Last night, Houston. Tonight, Dallas. If you went to the concert tonight, drop bye and tell us about it. Or, you can send your re-caps videos and pictures to me at mjsbigblog at gmail.com. In the meantime, this is your thread to chat about the concertà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

  • IGetCranked

*shakily limps in* Come on you Dallas peeps! I was just traumatized in my shower by discovering an evil cricket waving three foot long feelers at me. He was mad that I interrupted his nap and I swear that he growled ” Die B*tch ” at me as I leaped out and slipped on the wet tile. So hurry with info to get my mind off it! There better be an extra good Mavid tonight!

  • kimconmom

I can’t wait to see video of Jason in front of his hometown crowd! I heard he made quite the entrance…it was deafening on the livefeed.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

Sounds like it was shooting cowboys for Mavid tonight, complete with Cookie wearing a black cowboy hat. VIDEO!!!

  • FolkFan

Sounds good. I hope that ShootoutMavid remedies IGotCranked’s post-bug-traumatic stress disorder. (I feel your pain. Creepy crawlies are disgusting.)

I’m intrigued to see the recaps from this show—there are definitely some folks who have been looking forward to the Dallas show for a long, long time, and I hope that it lives up to the anticipation.

  • IGetCranked

Awww I can’t wait to see Jason videos! I bet his date night will be great tomorrow!

Thanks for the support FolkFan. LOL Gwendolyn’s picture helped. :) David looks great in that hat! I wonder if he’s wearing spurs.. :devil_tb:

  • frogcooke

I wonder if Archie has managed to rip cookies jacket yet.. lol

  • Jul

I hope Jason can actually post a date night tomorrow! I’d love to hear about his hometown show and everything. Poor kid and his computer having all sorts of problems.. :(

  • http://myspace.com/saltwatercures pj

I hope Jason can just do his thing. I don’t need another date night after reading some of the weird fan stuff. It kind of ruined it for me. :(

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

    Mavid in the Big D

I really don’t know what the heck that was….

  • FolkFan

I didn’t really get the MavidDance, either. But the rest was good. I’m beginning to enjoy the DC/DA interaction at the end of the catwalk more than the DC/MJ stuff. The stuff with the hat toward the end was also pretty funny (to me).

  • jan

I loved this Mavid. David C had some great footwork going on – crazy as it was. Also loved the little dance at the end between both Davids – that was just great to see.

  • EmmaJK

That was a terrific Mavid – whatever it was. LOL. DC can move, no matter what he says. I loved the “pass the hat” game. And the DC/DA bow at the end was just the best. I love that Archie is getting into it now. He’s really loosening up in this number, and I think Cook has a lot to do with that. I agree that I’m almost starting to look forward more to what Cookie/Archie will do at the end.

I really, really liked David Cook in that cowboy hat. Wow.

  • frogcooke

ahhh the davids’ little dance move! I hope they do more of that!! that was awesome!

  • bean99

I was there although didn’t do any before or after meeting the idols. It was pretty much a full house other than some of the nosebleeds. The crowd was appreciative and cheered a lot but not a lot of standing in my section other than during Cook’s set. I was impressed that there was such a mix of ages and plenty of guys. Luckily we didn’t have a lot of squealers near us although the Jason and Archie fans were very high pitched so the sound carried.

Chikeze: Loved him. I was so impressed by his voice and personality and thought he picked very good songs.

Ramiele: Ho hum. Her voice also sounded good although was drowned out somewhat in the last song. Probably the least impressive of the bunch but still not bad. She’s very cute and little.

Michael: My favorite, of course. His voiced sounded great even though his talking voice was a little hoarse. Loved all 3 songs but “Dream On” was incredible in the arena. Someone had a “Jailbait Johns” sign and he said it sounded dangerous. His in-laws were there since they live in Fort Worth. Oh yes and he is better looking irl as reported. :wub_tb:

Kristy Lee: Much like I expected. She was sparkly and voice sounded pretty good but I hate that she does the patriotic song and then when people stand up for it she makes it sound like they’re giving her a standing O. She kind of bugged me if you can’t tell, lol.

Carly: Her voice is incredible and I’d argue the best of the bunch. I loved the first 2 songs and was surprised to find that I didn’t like the arrangement of “Drive all Night” which I liked when she did Idol. She looked great.

Brooke: She did better than I expected although still didn’t love her. She seems like a sweetheart so I can see why she’s popular.

1st half group song: I thought Michael and Carly sounded really good doing it. My friend commented that they only introduced Michael and wondered why even though she’s as big a fan as I am.

Jason: His set was nice but very subdued on his part. He got plenty of support being from the Dallas area but I’d expect that he’s getting a lot of the girls anyway. I think I liked “Daydream” best because it had the most energy. I was surprised to see that Brooke was betting in this venue than Jason was.

Syesha: Her voice is really good and a lot of people liked her who weren’t in my section. She was the most sparkly of the girls and has the distinction of showing the most cleavage. I just can’t get past the fact that she bugs the crap out of me. I didn’t enjoy her preachy introduction to her last song and or her pandering when talking about Dallas unlike the rest who seemed sincere.

Archie: The squeals were deafening by this point. His voice was really good and I was impressed. I liked a couple of his songs quite a bit. I can see him doing quite well with the younger crowd.

Cook: It seemed that pretty much everyone liked him and he got the most love tonight. He worked the room very well and sounded really good as I expected. He also sounded hoarse when talking like MJ & Jason. I imagine touring is hard on your voice. I loved “Hello” and even “Billie Jean” which I didn’t like on the show. His set was good except I didn’t get the fake encore part because he all of a sudden just disappeared.

PDSTM: Loved seeing it irl. Michael was the most fun and danced in his dorky way throughout. I could see the Mavid dance but couldn’t tell you exactly what they did.

Several of the idols pointed out that David Yeager was there. He was sitting a couple of rows in front of Michael’s in-laws. Funny that Jason Castro didn’t introduce his family who must have been there.

After hearing them in person I think several of the idols should get a contract including Carly, Michael (I know he’s not signing), Chikeze (gospel?), and probably Jason because of his fans. Overall it was a wonderful concert and my favorite of the 2 idol ones I’ve been to. :thumbup_tb:

  • frogcooke

Btw I hope Archie is feeling better. He sounded a bit congested in the houston vids. And when meeting the fans before the show in houston, he actually went inside for a minute to blow his nose and then came back out… lol

  • cookcricket

LOL IGC, crickets aren’t that bad! (Note the name. :) ). I love to hear crickets singing on a cool autumns night. However, if I see a big one *shudders*. :)

EmmaJK, I think we’re on the same wavelength when it comes to DC!!! :bye_tb: Love the Mavid, love the moves, and the cowboy hat! WooHoo!

I think someone on the tube mentioned glowsticks(?) for the MAVID.

Also, I think DC was putting his hands on the stage when he was going down. Didn’t get to see the sudden drop because the spotlight went out too soon. This is a guess.

I also can’t help but think that DC is helping DA to loosen up.

ETA: I just love how DC seems to get everyone involved in PDSTM.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

Apparently all of the Idols did the DC/DA move at the end. It was a salute to Jason Yeager, who was in the audience. He did the same move at the end of his performance of “Long Train Running”. LOL!

  • Layla

Loved that Mavid. DC can MOVE! Cowboy hat=dead sexy.

  • Trina

Count me in amongst those now looking forward to the Big D/Littl D stuff at the end more than Mavid lol. I’ve enjoyed Mavid for the most part but I think they’re at the point they’re running out of ideas.

  • frogcooke

Hey, they still got the chicken dance and soulja boy left… hahahaha Plenty of ideas… haha

  • frogcooke

welll some interesting info to come out of Dallas.. Someone at idf talked to Jeff and he gave some clues as to who Archie is collaborating with…

“Anyway, here’s the clues I remember:
    1. It’s someone that David would be like in 3-4 years. (He’s not necessarily 3-4 years older than him though)
    2. He’s a solo artist.
    3. He’s a white male.
    4. He’s not really on the music scene right now, but when he was, he had about 2 megahits. Jeff told us to think from 2000 onward.
    5. We talked to Richard about it later, and he told us that David met with this guy in Toronto.

We were all trying to figure it out before, and came up with nothing.
Right now, I just thought it could be Five For Fighting….. I don’t know why he’d be in Toronto though. lol so yeah I’m lost.”

  • Keel

Hey, they still got the chicken dance and soulja boy leftà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ hahahaha Plenty of ideasà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ haha

Ooh, I’d like to request Riverdance, Lambada (the forbidden dance) and, if they’re still doing movie-themed dances, there’s The Twist (with Uma and Travolta) from Pulp Fiction.

Cookleta/Archucook, however, need no input from me. They can just continue with the nightly cuteness.

  • fedex pope

Great recap, bean. Thanks. Good to hear Michael sounded great even if his speaking voice was hoarse. And that he had family around again. So he’s back to wearing the ring? :lol_wp:

Best thing about Mavid for me: Since it started, there’s more interaction/breaks from the staid routine, among EVERYONE. And the MJ/DC shoutout to Luke of course. That was just nice. Also cool Yeager got his salute too. Gah Long Train Running–I remember that move! Bet they gave him grief for that later on (in a good way). Those boys seem like a tight bunch that don’t take themselves way too seriously all the time, hope they stay that way.

  • rita205

I get to go to the show tonight! In Bossier City, LA. Sadly, I can’t get away from work early enough to go to the meet and greet – how early to they usually get to the venue to do that? My friend has free tickets from her work, so I don’t even know what kind of seats we’ll have. But I’m going and that’s all that matters!

  • s3rious

Thanks GwendolynD for the MAVID brodance link.

Hmm, Cowboy Bebop? :D DC’s got some awesome moves!

  • cookcricket

Hey rita205, have a great time!!!!

ETA: Thanks for the recap bean99! Sounds like you had a great time!
Yeah, I think there were glowsticks involved w/ Mavid.

  • sunchick

Heh, that entire PDSTM vid was made of win! I giggled when Cook tipped his cowboy hat to each lady as he walked past them in the beginning. I think maybe Mavid were trying to pop and lock (trying being the operative word)? And The Yeager at the end!

  • spritely

Did y’all notice that as DC walked on stage during PDSTM he lifted his cowboy hat to the ladies, just as a gentleman cowboy should do? What a funny guy.

That was a shout-out to Jason Y? Nice.

    I’m loving the Cook/Arch (Carch?)stuff, too.

  • IGetCranked

    1. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s someone that David would be like in 3-4 years. (Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not necessarily 3-4 years older than him though)
    2. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a solo artist.

    4. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not really on the music scene right now, but when he was, he had about 2 megahits. Jeff told us to think from 2000 onward.

OOMGG It’s Ricky Martin! Noooo Archie! Don’t Shake Your Bon Bon or Live Lavida Loca! I like you the way you are!

Love the Jason Yeager ending! That is so hilarious! I would have loved to have seen his face! HEEEE!

cookcricket, I don’t mind crickets either but when they decide to take a shower with me, I draw the line. :)

  • amy123

Great recap Bean99. I especially liked the parts about Michael, Carly and David Cook since they’re my favorites. And I do agree with you about Carly’s voice-it is incredible and I love her arrangement of I Drove All Night. It sounds like the Idols are having a great time in Texas and are getting some free time to enjoy themselves-they really do deserve it.

  • AInoob

Thanks for the recap, bean, sounds like you had a great time.

I still enjoy the Mavid dances mostly because its part of what keeps the number from getting boring to watch for me. What I love is that they’ve all got their own little thing going on stage now and considering the original “choreography” (I use the term loosely, lol) just had them walking around on stage, they’re making their own fun.

As for this particular Mavid dance, I’m not sure what it was (rave maybe?) but I did get a kick out of Cook and the hat, which kept switching heads, lol.

Cookie signing autographs in the cowboy hat

  • Hazehel

Looks like they are trying to do some liquid dancing but failing, so you can’t really tell what they are doing. Liquid dancing with glowsticks is called glowsticking, so is probably the more appropriate term for what they did -

  • bean99

The 3 of them and Chikeze were the highlights of the night for me, Amy. I’ll have to watch the video of PDSTM to see the Yaeger move. I did notice MJ and Chikeze having their own little dance. Oh yes, I read somewhere that the sign was actually “Jailbait for Johns”. I can understand the dangerous comment, lol.

FYI, the concert started pretty much on time so leave plenty of time to get there if you’re going to one. I was surprised at how full the AA Center was by 7 because it is hard to get somewhere that early in a big city.

  • Suzanne

I thought of Rickey Martin also for the mystery collaborator with Archie. I don’t know about that. Hmmm.

What’s the Jason Yeager? Are those arm movements something he did on the show??

  • IGetCranked

Suzanne, On the top twenty semi final night, Jason ended his performance with this weirdo outstretched arm position that made me cackle out loud and Simon of course skewered him on it! It was really funny! You tube may have it..

I was totally joking around about Rickey Martin! I really don’t want to see Archie pouring hot candle wax on his chest nor singing about it. LOL

bean99, I really enjoyed your recap!

    ETA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeLlpEE65TA&feature=related

Jason Yeager *hee* He actually has a good voice though.

  • kathrynTX

Hey guys! Hi bean99. I was there too last night in Dallas! Yes, the sign said JAILBAIT FOR JOHNS and I met the girl who made it and I’ll tell you more about how she got into the show…. Mavid was a glowstick dance indeed. Yes, Cook in cowboy hat = BEAUTIFUL! Damn. ANYWAY, more to come, I shall eml mj as I’m writing up the whole story….

  • Patchchat

David looked great in the hat and his doffing it to all the women was really funny. Looked like he was saying “Mam” “Mam” “Mam”.

And yes. Let’s just stop the untruths now! David Cook can dance. He’s a little wild at times, but tame down those movements and the boy has rythm.

Haven’t posted in a while, but I’m here and REALLY enjoying this site! Thx MJ.

  • http://mjsbigblog.com lucyfan

Did yà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢all notice that as DC walked on stage during PDSTM he lifted his cowboy hat to the ladies, just as a gentleman cowboy should do? What a funny guy.

Does anyone remember when, on the show, Cook would help every single girl off the “safe” couch as they came up to center stage to say goodbye to the latest sendoff? I remember thinking way back then how impressive that was – not playing to the cameras at all. His mama raised him right! :thumbup_tb: *Sorry if this got a bit OT.*

  • Tralala

It’s twice as much fun to watch Jason Yeager’s video first, and then watch the PDSTM ending. Hahaha. LOL.

  • elle

Never thought I’d say this: I think Cook sounded sexier while wearing the cowboy hat! Who knew?

Right now, I just thought it could be Five For Fightingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦..

    Interesting thought . . .

What I’d love? To see them all rehearsing their little moves – not that they rehearse, but how they decide.

  • aly

Great Recap Bean99!!! My favorites are Michael, Carly as well.
I just watched Michael’s performance of Dream on from last night, and you
are right it was incredible. They both have beautiful voices and command
the stage like no others. Did you know their plans are to record a duet
this fall? Can’t wait to hear it.

  • SpenserJ

Great recap Bean. Thanks for sharing :) I’m glad you had a good time, and that your favorites all came through for you with great performances.

  • Trina

I heard about the Michael and Carly duet and I can’t wait to hear it too-I am so excited for that!! I’ll be the first in line to buy it.

  • kathrynTX

I emailed to mj also…hope that’s OK I’m posting in comments now. Also, I forgot to say that Jason Yeager was outside after the show with the Idols and looked like he was signing some autographs even. Kinda funny! So here goes…my recap of the Dallas show…

Chikezie opens the show of course. I missed his 1st song but heard it through the walls. I was trying to listen to a voice mail and call back the guy I sold my floor seats to. Luckily, he and his 7 year old daughter had no problem getting in on my online tickets after all. ANYWAY, I did see Chikezie’s other 2 numbers. I didn’t know any of his 3 songs but I remember I Believe from the show and I’m sorry I was trying to talk on the dang phone during it! I said Hello to him and got an autograph afterwards. He sounded really good, I thought, and seemed much bigger on stage than when I met him after the show. What a sweetheart. Very talkative, smiling, seemed to love the fan interaction.

Ramiele…I thought her Taylor Dane number was a little pitchy in spots for me, dawg. She seemed to give it her all though and I applauded and yelled a little for her. She was trying awfully hard. Can someone tell the band to TURN IT DOWN? Sheesh. I remember the Jackson 5 tune from way back when. I didn’t know her 3rd song. She did not come out after the show.

MJ WOOHOO! MJ brought it last night. I thought he was fan-f-ing-tastic. I love love love IAWBIAR. And he was ON FIRE last night! I loved all his numbers really. It seemed like the crowd loved him back too. He was out there far too short a time, I wanted more. I will buy his album. I met Michael after the show too for an autograph – what a darling. We asked him to pose for a photo, he said he didn’t really have time, but he did anyway…with his hand in front of his face. Ding-dong! What a nice looking man…sweat or no sweat, messy hair or not. Love that accent. He said that he hopes to have the album out in January or February, a single before then perhaps. I’m in line, MJ!

Kristy Lee was Kristy Lee. Even though I’ve been a mostly country fan for the last 20 years (which has CHANGED now!), I was not a fan of hers on the show. The band was too loud for her, her voice just doesn’t have enough OOPMH behind it, and I never ever in 20 years of listening have heard those 2 songs she sang that sounded more like lame country-rock-alt-country crap. I personally am not a huge fan of the GBTUSA song…it was OK. She annoyed me mostly during her set. She did come out after the show though and seemed pretty friendly but very rushed. She signed my program for me and I told her thank you.

Carly – I was surprised how much I liked her set live! I didn’t really know the first song (Bring Me to Life) but she sounded good. I liked the Heart song best, she ROCKED IT and sounded great. She sounded fabulous on the Celine song too but it was not my fave. I saw her after the show and got an autograph too. She is LOVELY, she looked great on stage and after the show too. Love her accent too! My sister made road trip CDs for the guys’ and girls’ buses (same CD, she just made 2 of them). She handed the girls’ CD to Carly and Carly started to sign it and hand it back. We said NO NO that’s for YOU! She gasped and made a cute surprised face and said “OH OH thank you” and held it up close to her chest. She was so cute. I don’t know that I’d buy her album, but she’s a rocker who can SANG. I’d give it a listen anyway! I hope she does well.

Brooke was the one who most surprised me! I really really liked her set. Her voice sounded really good, I thought. I will consider buying a new album from her. Let It Be was very nice. My fave was Yellow though. I liked the corny stars and yellow lights! I thought she was great. I want to hear original music from her, that shows off her emotive voice and maybe piano playing too. Loved her. She did not come out after the show, darn it.

Group number for IGB…eh. Love Michael Johns! I guess he was introduced because…he’s Michael Johns. hahaha.

Jason surprised me too. His voice sounded much better and he showed much better singing skill than on the show. I liked Crazy best. I would give his album a listen. He’s got a very unique voice and style, and I like that. I wonder if he will write? He could probably make a living singing if he wants to. He’ll have to work at it, but hey, don’t we all have to work for a living? I really liked his set. Jason did not come out after the show waaaah.

Syesha. Well I wasn’t a fan and I’m really still not. I appreciate her hard work. She did put her all into Listen. I didn’t know any of her songs though! I’ve just heard Umbrella because of Idol. I just don’t listen to her kind of music, I guess. And even though she tried really hard on Listen, that’s just it…she was trying SOOOOOO hard. She did do some self-help type crowd banter crap that I didn’t like either. She’s got a voice but that’s about all she has for me. She did come out after the show and I asked her to sign my dang program. She did. She was not talking, she had VOICE REST written on her hand. She IS very lovely and tiny. She’s got ambition, she will do whatever she wants to do, I think.

ARCHIE! I saw Archie briefly before the show, didn’t get to talk to him. I am slowly getting sucked into being a FAN of his! He gave me goosebumps. What an incredible voice. He seems to be getting more and more comfortable onstage too. He’s amazing, especially when you consider how young and inexperienced with this type show he is. I LOVED Apologize and Stand By Me. Loved loved loved. David did come out after the show. He was SO cute, just darling. The girl next to me was gonna pass out, I swear. He was all smiles and giggles and thank yous. He signed my program too. I told him he was amazing and said thank you so much. We all yelled WE LOVE YOU David!

Cook. :wub_tb: :clap_tb: The only reason I watched Idol and the only reason I went to this show. Also the reason the 5 other people I got into the show for free or almost free went. I loved him. I don’t know what else to say. We weren’t very good at singing when he wanted us to sing though, we just screamed! I don’t which song I liked best. I loved them all, I wanted more. For a second, I really did forget that I was not at a David Cook concert. He sounded in fine voice to me. He did leave off one or two glory notes in TOML. He made some comment about the song “just won’t die…” but it was not mean-spirited, it was joking. He also commented about it being played by NBC during the Olympic coverage. He tossed several picks into the audience AND his water bottle he took a little drink from. He hoped he didn’t injure anyone with the water bottle! David did not come out after the show, which was as I expected from reading all the recaps here! Very sad cause I have a present for him – made him a necklace cause I make jewelry and that’s all I can offer. I see he doesn’t wear one on leather and this one is on black leather.

PDSTM…loved it! I loved that Cook wore the black cowboy hat. I’m hoping someone in Texas gave him that. I was considering giving him my straw (summer) Stetson, but brought him the necklace I made instead. ANYWAY, the highlight was him tipping his hat to all the ladies on his way across the stage! And Mavid was a very wiggly and shakin’ it glo-stick dance. Then they tossed the glo-sticks into the audience. Then he started the pass-the-hat game, so it went to Brooke, Carly, Kristy Lee…and I think back to David, but I don’t believe he was wearing it when he descended into hell oh I mean left the stage darn it.

    OK here are my EXTRAS:
Before the show, I got there too late to meet Cook. However, in the restaurant across the street, I did meet the girl who made the JAILBAIT FOR JOHNS sign. Her name, really truly seriously, is Taylor Swift. She showed us (my sis and I) her SS card and learner’s permit. Cook signed her Johns posted right across MJ’s stomach on the photo on the poster HAHAHA. The other side of the poster said MY NINJA SKILLS PWN JOHNS. Very cute. She said she couldn’t make a COUGARS FOR COOK sign since she’s only 16, so she made this one for Michael. SOOO she was talking to David before the show. She got some great photos of him in that dang hat. I pretty much begged her to eml them to me…we shall see. Anyway, David asked her where she & her friend were sitting. She said they did not have tickets to the show, she just came to get autographs and see them. She said she had to help pay her Mom’s medical bills instead. He gave her great seats; and then during the show, got backstage passes to them for afterwards. He also made sure that MJ knew about the sign, which is why he went over to comment on it during his set. Very nice. So, then I ran into her after the show and she had those passes and she & friend were headed that way.

I am so mad I didn’t drive over there when I was ready. I would’ve met Cook and given him his present. I have at least a couple more chances to do so, since I’m going to KC, MO this weekend and it’s looking like Tulsa will be a go, alone if I have to. But Dallas was the perfect opportunity to meet him, dammit. I will just have to do better next time!

  • amy123

Great review KathrynTX-I especially loved the kind words about Michael, Carly, and David Cook since they’re my favorites. It sounds like you had some good interactions with Michael and Carly after the show. I met both of them in Charlotte NC and they were very nice and appreciative. I just love all three of them!!!

  • Zeppelin

So happyyyyy for Jasonnnn. :thumbup_tb: The reception was amazing on last night’s Live Feed and Jason dropping by to say howdy and announcing his site news after his set (Texan accent in full-force!) was extra-exciting. He sounded like he had a blast even though he got nervous before he took the stage, “that was terrifying!!”. Lol, bless him.

I’m waiting on people for videos and photos. A good shot of him drapped in the Texan flag would be awesome.

I liked the DA/DC Yeager ending in the ever-cheesy group number.
Nice of Cook to say “Give it up for the hometown boy”. I’d have enjoyed that video even more had he made Jason (yes I’m aware I’m wearing his name out) feel all special by placing his cowboy hat on him which would have obviously prompted Jason to bust out some freaky cowboy moves. :happy_tb: Alas, I’ll live.

You can see here that they all did The Yeager.

Thanks for the explanation on that. That was really funny.

Looks like they are trying to do some liquid dancing but failing, so you canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t really tell what they are doing. Liquid dancing with glowsticks is called glowsticking, so is probably the more appropriate term for what they did

I thought Cook got close on the glowsticking. The only thing he was missing was the throw-and-catch move. Plus he added some fancy footwork there that the guy in your glowsticking link didn’t have. Boy has some moves.

By the way, is it terrible that I almost started my response with “Well, for a white guy . . . “?

Sounds like you had a great time and really enjoyed most of the show, kathryn. Keep that necklace ready for this weekend’s show, maybe you’ll get to meet him this time around.

AH HAH. Jailbait for Johns link is not appearing…help. Dang it, I was really hoping she would email me. We live in the same town, it would be fun! Thanks. Please re-post link, fallforever??

  • fallforever

Sorry, kathrynTX – Don’t know why this isn’t working. Try again (twice!):

Thanks for that link, fallforever. That was really sweet of DC to get her tickets and backstage passes.

Just asked this over on the other thread too that mj put up for my recap (awwww how nice!) –

Hey did anyone catch exactly what went on with the guy giving Cook a hard time? He was on the right-hand side of the stage (if you were ON the stage) and David had the spotlight follow him over to the guy right before My Hero, I think it was. Apparently, the guy was giving him some crap about his hand and arm gestures? Or something. David asked him à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Are you telling me Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m DOING THAT?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ The guy yelled back à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“OH YEAH!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ David said something like à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Oh gee, thanks for the hint! Someone has to tell you these things.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ And then proceeded to make some very goofy exaggerated gestures at the start of the next song. I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t catch everything that was said.

Jason Yeager blogged about last night. He also has a new profile pic of the Horsemen, minus Luke Menard.

    Idol Reunion in Dallas

I have such a blessed life. Last night I went to see all my old friends again in Dallas. MJ was gracious enough to get me a ticket and backstage pass to the show. (Thank you again MJ) I haven’t seen these guys since the finale and even then, the chaos that ensued after the show was so great, I barely got a chance to talk to any of them. After I got inside I saw Stacy, MJ’s wife, and we said hello. She gave me a pass and took me to see Michael. Dave came out as well and we all chatted for a bit. Dave even gave me a sneak peak at some demos he’s working on for the new album! I was so glad to see my boys again. Missed Luke being there, it wasn’t quite the same. Carly came out and gave me a big hug, I was so happy to see “Tater”. Everyone was still the same as before. Michael had a grin on his face and said “We’ve got something special for you tonight Yeager..” And Dave started laughing and then Carly.

So I go take my seat and people start whispering and pointing. I still can’t get used to that. Both Chikezie and Carly gave a shout out to me during the show! But then the highlight was during the finale group number. Michael kept looking at me saying “just keep watching” and then at the very end of the song everyone did my little move I did on my last night! OMG I about peed my pants watching everyone bow their heads and pound their arms out to the side. That was the most hilarious thing and even though they were obviously making fun, it was so sweet of them to do that for me cuz they love me. And I just was so thankful at that moment to know each and everyone of them. We had the best time after the show joking about it all. I hung out with them as they did meet and greet with the fans. I felt like I should go but Carly insisted I stay. I didn’t want to take away from them and the fans. But Carly kept saying “come on!…come outside, its insane out there, its so much fun!” I didn’t think people would even care or remember me but the second her and I walked out the doors the fans went nuts! And she gave me a sharpie and there I was walking down a line of people wrapped halfway around the building with screaming fans. People were calling my name and asking about my son Nathan and about what I’m doing….I was speechless. It felt so good! People were like do you do pictures? Do you have time? I was like “of course!” I kept looking over at Carly and she was just signing and looking over at me and smiling…wow! She kept making me do “The move” for the fans so they could take pictures…ugh….lol. But I had a blast and then we went back inside and I walked with everyone to the bus as they loaded up and Carly gave me a slice of cold pizza that was so yummy! Carly, you really did make my night, and MJ, you are still the same great friend you’ve always been, and Dave, I am so proud of you for staying true to who you are and staying grounded through all of this. This was one of the most memorable nights of my life guys!!! I love you all…thank you so much for making me feel so special last night! What a blessed life I have….

OMgoodness! This blog brought tears to my eyes. How great for Jason! (The main thing I remember about him was that he wanted to show his son that you can really have your dreams come true.) I hope good things come his way!

Carly is just so sweet!!!! DC and MJ awesome. I love hearing others, who know DC, continuing to say he’s staying grounded and true to who he is.

I guess he couldn’t blog details about the demos! :wallbash_tb: LOL!

What a great blog from Jason Y! I’m so glad that he enjoyed catching up with his old friends and that the fans were so responsive to him. I loved reading the kind words he had to say about MJ, DC and Carly, it shows that to those who’ve met them before this Idol experience they are still the same people.

I’m with you cookcricket, I would have loved some deets about those demos, lol.

Awww-I loved reading Jason Yeager’s blog. It sounds like Carly was very sweet to him and he really appreciated it. I also liked when he called her Tater. I gathered from his blog that he’s very good friends with Michael, Carly, and David Cook (my three favorites). GO JASON!!!

I found this on TWOP part of a recap:

–During one of his songs he went over to one side and I guess a guy there was imitating DC singing. After the song he laughed and said “Is that what I look like?” Then he stopped the show, went over to the guy and had them put a spotlight on him and said “Sir, is this really what I was doing?”, and made a bunch of weird “singing” faces. The guy was like “Totally!” DC was laughing and said “Good to know. The first step is admiting you have a problem. Apparently I am the John Mayer of American Idol!” I really hope someone caught that on video.

Thanks for posting Jason Yaeger’s blog, Gwendolyn. I’m happy that he got to do the m & g. I almost got teary eyed reading about him being so touched that people wanted his autograph/pic. I had been wondering in Stacey was there visiting MJ and her family and that answered it.

Here is the video from Cookified Texan that shows Cook talking to the man who had been imitating Cook’s “funny” faces. See next posting.

I think I have it this time. Enjoy!
