American Idols kick off attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The American Idol attraction at Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens to the public on February 14.

But the fun begins, on February 12th, when a giant Idol reunion of more than 20 Idols hits Orlando for pre-opening invitation-only celebrity festivities:

More than 20 American Idol luminaries will be attending next week’s premiere of the American Idol Experience attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney officials confirm. Along with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, current winner David Cook, former winners Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood, and past contestants David Archuleta, Bo Bice and Justin Guarini will participate in  the invitation-only  festivities Thursday, Feb. 12. (The lineup, Disney reminds us, is subject to change and expand.)

Theme-park guests that day can get a glimpse of the Idol family during a motorcade at 4:30 p.m.

Earlier that day — before the park even opens –Â  Cook will be doing a live segment for ABC’s Good Morning America. Sorry, fans, it’s a closed set.

I expect to have a couple of spywitnesses at these invitation-only events, so stay tuned!

    Glad to see Taylor is invited to join the festivities. A bit late to remember who he is, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Glad about Justin too, he is the quintessential company man, and a great rep for idol. He’s a stand up guy. This will be interesting I suppose.

    I wonder if we’ll get some sort of schedule out ahead of time to know what we can expect the Idols to do there and how much of it we’ll see.
    So many Idols together, it’s sure to draw *some* media. Heh!

    Oh noes! No Reuben, Kelly or Fantasia? Why not? Would’ve been cool to have Chris Daughtry there as well but he is probably deep in album writing/recording mode right now.

    I realize the press release is only going to mention the winners and runner ups, but Jason will be there according to his website. I kind of assume the Top 5 from last season will be there since they actually filmed stuff for the attraction.

    I had heard Phil Stacey was supposed to be there, but have since heard he had to back out.

    MJ I’m also glad you’ll have your spies there. We need to know all about it. I wonder where or when the Disney premiere will be taped, aired, or shown. They must be taping it, as what would be the sense of gathering all these celebrities together and then not letting anyone see them? If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, does it really exist?

    Think it is coincidence that this will be the day after the Top 36 is revealed? I suspect this will be a used as an event to introduce this years Top 36 to the press.
