Austin Wolfe’s first You Tube Channel was created by her mother Anita, 3 years ago, to post the 14 year old singer’s covers and original songs. A year later, Austin created her own channel.

ETA: Austin sang “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons for her audition in front of the judges in Salt Lake City. Jennifer felt she had the whole package. Harry compared her to Haley Williams of Paramore and Keith complimented her pitch. She got 3 yeses.

The bio on her ReverbNation page describes the Park City, Utah native as, “A singer/songwriter who creates soulful pop ballads that resonate with young adults.”  Austin won the 2012 Adobe Aspire Awards for “Big Feet” and placed in state and regional vocal competitions and writes that she’s “open to collaborations and new opportunities!”

The latest opportunity for this young singer/songwriter and keyboardist is the opportunity to compete on American Idol XIII as as one of the Top 31.  Will her background as an ambitious songwriter take her far? Austin, who covers familiar teenage ground with songs about romance and heartbreak, could probably benefit from collaborations with  professional songwriters, to help her edit her thoughts and shape her melodies. I hear some potential, though.  Check out some of her songs below:

Here’ a music video for a tune she wrote at 14 called “Goodbye”

Here she introduces herself as a 15 year old before a performance of “Broken,” another original tune.

Another original tune, “Worthless”
