The American Idol judges panel, Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban plus host Ryan Seacrest, took a few minutes from their work in Salt Lake City, UT, auditioning hopefuls, to speak with Ellen Degeneres via satellite.
The talking point of the day how well the panel gets on. No really! They love each other! Snark aside, they really do seem to like each other, at least. Harry and Keith already have a comedy side show going on.
“I’m a huge fan of American Idol,” Harry told Ellen. “I was even at the first finale when Kelly Clarkson won. I was in the audience and to be sitting up here with Ryan, who I really think is the best, and Jennifer, who is beyond belief. The more I get to know her the more I love and respect her. And. I’m sorry you are?”
“Keith”
“And, Keith, he’s a nice man…,” Harry added.
OK. This could get good.
Ryan, stepped up to the plate in the name of Public Relations:
“I’m excited that we’ve got a group that just sat together and had lunch, and laughed out loud and told stories and talked about their lives and really get along,” said host, Ryan Seacrest.
“I think that people who have watched this show for a long time will enjoy that part of the show when they come back. This is a show that the whole family will be able to watch. That’s what we’re excited about.”
In other words: That nasty rapper and her potty mouth are gone. No more infighting. Come back ya’ll. The coast is clear…
