I’ll take the “bland” season 7 over this sleazy controversy crapfest any day, yeah there wasnt any weird church and dead wife shennanigans but some of them could you know..sing and they were nice, normal-ish people. Then again, Im old school like that

I always need a good battle and since i won the political one, my life has been…rather empty.

However, if Gokey attempts to use his church or his religion as this competition progresses it will backfire on him. He MUST know that. I dont need anyone, least of all Danny Gokey, attempting to preach to me in not so subtle ways. I dont watch reality tv to be “saved” or to tell me to have hope and faith or how much god loves me. As my mother would say…of COURSE he loves you, who wouldn’t?! I watch them so that my darker side can come forth and balance out my much too large brighter side.

TPTB could not have chosen a better more contentious subject as this one to get us focused on and talking about. Kudos to them, this is brilliant.

Oh, and SpenserJ makes me laugh a lot too. She pretty much rocks!

ETA: And Grammie Kari, they didn’t just fail to mention Gedeon’s backstory. Simon went out of his way not to mention his singing, but to make him seem creepy by saying something about his goofy smile. I really hated AI when that happened. I know he didn’t have a chance to win, but still. He could sang.

Do TPTB really want Danny to win because they think he is the most marketable? Or are they setting Danny up for a fall so the true chosen one can be revealed later. But perhaps they know we would be on to them and there would be a double backlash. Where we backlash against the later Chosen One once we realize Danny was set up for the fall.

Did you even bother to read my guidelines? When you come visit my house the polite thing would be to know my rules. If you read them you would know the answer to your question is yes…

Does anyone, himself included, ever think he would believe he would become this famous this quickly? Could he have foreseen the judges talking him up and the maelstorm (is that a word?) that followed? The media grabbed onto this media thing and ran with it.

Umm, if you’ve followed AI at all, then the answer is yes. If you try out and don’t do your research, then shame on you. Besides, I don’t think the producers, judges or other media types had anything to do with his relative holding up a picture on national television of his poor deceased wife.

You can’t make anyone feel about Danny the way you do. He put himself in the public eye and is up for discussion. The topic is Danny, not what people think of him. I guess you missed the Oscar thread, the Taylor Hicks thread, etc.

I really don’t get the criticism on the Whoooooooo thing. It was obvious he was happy he got into the top twelve, and not because he wanted Tat off. Sure he rolled his eyes, as did millions of viewers when Ryan did his “after the commercial” break.
