The American Idol themes for the Top 3 are confirmed in a new press release from FOX. Each of the Top 3 will sing 3 songs: Jimmy’s Choice, Judges’ Choice and Idol’s Choice.

ETA: According to @IdolSpoilers, there has been a last minute theme change, not reflected in the press release. Idol’s Choice has been changed to Producer’s choice. Or maybe IDOL’s choice means Producer’s choice. Anyway…it’s a change to earlier spoilers.

I hope Kree Harrison has brushed up on her penguin lore.

Plus, Lauren Alaina returns home. The American Idol Season 10 runner-up will debut her new single, “Barefoot and Buckwild” on Thursday’s results show. Alicia Keys will also perform.

Two-Night Season 12 Finale Airs Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16

All good things come in threes, and tonight more so than ever! AMERICAN IDOL revealed that the Top 3 finalists are Candice Glover, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller. In a surprising twist unveiled last week, votes were combined from the Wednesday night performance shows on April 24 and May 1 in a special AMERICAN IDOL two-week showdown. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed that Holcomb, 19, received the least number of votes for those two weeks and was sent home.

IDOL’s Top 3 finalists will head home for a special homecoming this weekend. Upon hearing the news, each of the singers revealed what they’re most looking forward to:

Candice: “I’m mostly looking forward to seeing firsthand what the support has been like at home, because I hear about it all the time. It would mean the world to make the Top 3, because that means everything I’ve worked for is finally falling into place.”

Kree: “What I’m looking forward to most is being able to celebrate with my friends and family in my hometown and being able to hug each of them to thank them for supporting me.”

Angie: “Making the Top 3 means everything to me! I can’t wait to meet everyone who has supported me and got me this far in the competition.”

Tune in next week, Wednesday, May 8 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when Candice, Kree and Angie return to their hometowns and find out what songs the judges and Jimmy Iovine have chosen for them to perform. Each finalist will sing three songs: “Judges’ Choice”; “Jimmy’s Choice”; and “IDOL’s Choice.”

Don’t miss the live results show the following night, Thursday, May 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the final two divas remaining on IDOL will be revealed. Plus, multi-Grammy Award winning artist, Alicia Keys, will take the stage to perform her new single, “Tears Always Win,” from her hit album, “Girl on Fire.” Also, country artist and Season 10 runner-up, Lauren Alaina, will perform her new single, “Barefoot and Buckwild” for the first time ever on the IDOL stage.

On tonight’s results show, Grammy winner, world-renowned recording artist and last night’s performance show mentor, Harry Connick Jr., performed for the very first time his new single, “Every Man Should Know.” Also, Season Seven IDOL winner and platinum-selling recording artist, David Cook, performed his new song, “Laying Me Low.” Plus, straight off the soundtrack from the new movie, “The Great Gatsby,” seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist, will.i.am, performed his new song, “Bang Bang,” which also is available on his current album, “#willpower.”
