I’ve got the updated American Idol Season 9 schedule, just for you!

  • American Idol Season 9 Schedule HERE.

I added the guest judges to the schedule–the auditions begin and end with Victoria Beckham in Boston and Denver, Mary J. Blige in Atlanta, Shania Twain in Chicago, Kristin Chenoweth in Orlando, Joe Jonas and Neil Patrick Harris in Dallas, and Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry in Los Angeles.

Also notable:   Tuesday’s premiere, the Boston auditions, is 2 hours.   The next night, in Atlanta is 1 hr 15 minutes.   Wednesday shows start at 9 pm beginning January 27 and stay that way, except for the Top 12 performance shows for both men and woman, which are 2 hours long.

The schedule FOX released only contains dates through the first week of the finals.   I find it interesting that FOX describes the first performance show “Finalists Perform” and in the press release “The finalists will be revealed”, without mentioning numbers.   Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but could the producers have a twist up there sleeves? A wild card contestant, perhaps? Hm.

If you read the description of each of the results shows for the dates listed, it appears to go more into detail. It doesn’t appear look like there will be a wildcard next year to me.

I still don’t think it’s AI without Paula. She was on the show from the start and now she’s not, it’s just weird. :P

  • Allison

It will be strange with Ellen there.
I just thought, different strange, because Paula was certainly strange.

I personally am happy that Paula won’t be there. I didn’t hate her, but I wasn’t a huge fan of her nor found her particularly helpful. I love Ellen, so I’m very excited to see her step in!

I also can’t wait for the guest judges, especially Kristin, Mary, Shania, and Katy!

I hadn’t planned on watching the auditions this year, but I HAVE to tune in for the Orlando show. I love Kristen Chenowith!

I’ll miss Paula, when I do watch, and am sorry she’s gone, but she will certainly pop up somewhere again.
With Ellen and some of the celebrity judges, I can hear that giant AI sucking sound beckoning them.

I was going to skip auditions this year , I only started watching AI from the Hollywood round last year, but with all these guest judges, idk, kind of interesting. I’m kind of undecided on Paula leaving, she did give a kinder positive feedback to the contestants, but at the same time she made me soooooo uncomfortable at times, when she couldn’t finish a sentence, just rambling or was fighting with Simon. I am very excited about Ellen, love her! I know some ppl say that she has no cred in music, but hey maybe she could have opinions as a music lover/listener?
