The newly-minted American Idol 9 Top 12 contestents celebrated after the results show last night at a party at Industry, in Los Angeles CA last night.

Congratulations: Tim Urban, Siobhan Magnus, Lee Dewyze, Paige Miles, Mike Lynche, Andrew Garcia, Didi Benami, Lacey Brown, Aaron Kelly, Crystal Bowersox, Casey James and Katie Stevens.

    Crystal is quite hot, I noticed that last night. She’s the only one I give a fuck about, everyone else has me yawning and searching for navel lint. Watching the grass grow is starting to become appealing to me. Paige, Tim, Katie, Aaron, Lee, and Andrew (yep, off that train)are pretty much non entities to me Siobhan and Mike might redeem the season a bit if the rise to the occasion. I do notice that Mike might have a bit of an issue with self importance, and fwiw I wasn’t exactly jumping up and down with that last performance once he started doing his lumber around the stage. I think it was a bit cheesy, thank goodness the voice was okay. So the music of The Rolling Stones next. Hmmmm, wonder how that’s working for them so far. I am sure there are 13 songs on that list, lol.

    For me, this is the weakest top 12 ever (more so than even season 6). I hope that someone does something fantastic next week. So far, I’ve been completely unimpressed.

    Katie looks really cute. Lacey always looks weird to me… she has a vacant smile IMO.

    Crystal comes across to me as painfully shy.

    I kinda want to smack Andrew. I’m not even sure why.

    Didi is such a Brooke White reincarnation that its a little spooky.

    Big Mike is just a big ball o’ velveta. With steroids.

    Yes yes yes. And as a formerly painfully-shy person myself, I know how that can bite you on the a.s.s. It doesn’t help that she also seems to be self-conscious about her smile. I hope she gets to feeling better on both counts, as well as the other count we all want her “feeling better” about.

    I gotta say, the girls this year are some funky dressers. Wow.

    How did I miss the guy in the striped shirt? I think he’s my American Idol this year. Oh, he’s not a contestant? So what.

    If you did not think that they cast for type before, nothing else will convince you that they cast the show than this season. NONE of them will do well once the season is over.

    Wow, looking at them all together right now just really makes you think. The only ones who are consistently good right now are Crystal, Sibohann, Big Mike and Casey. Coming in next with the potential to get themselves together are Didi and Lee IMO. Out of those who is 1. most likely to win and 2 most likely to sell records? DIdi and Casey could sell records, but I don’t know if they’ll win. Crystal and Sibbohan could win to me… I think. This is going to be the hardest overall pick ever. I think I’m going to wait until top 12 performance night to choose.

    Do you think Crystal has read the reaction to her teeth on the internet and has stopped smiling as a result? Have we made her self-conscious? Because she looks soooo unhappy – like she really does not want to be there and it irritates me and sure keeps me from wanting to support her. I’ve seen Katie called a snob but I believe Crystal is the snob in this group.

    Crystal is the farthest thing from a snob. During Hollywood week she was one of the most likeable contestants, as evidenced by the group of them singing and clapping along to her performances. Ryan actually commented about this on one of the Hollywood shows.

    Last night she was completely devastated about Lilly and Katelyn leaving, to a point where she was barely able to participate in the group photo. You should read the recap from the on-site EW reporter whose article MJ has featured in the recaps from last nights show. He very clearly describes the impact of the eliminations on Crystal.

    Seriously, they are in the cast of Glee. They both sing too well to make it on this “singing” contest. They wouldn’t have made it past the judges. The girl who plays the character Mercedes on Glee did make it to Hollywood a couple of years ago. She is an amazing singer! Of course, she was cut.

    Heh. Yeah, I’ll bet she’s really crying in her Cheerios about that one right now. She’s awesome. They’re all awesome. Maybe I’ll go see them on tour this summer.

    Does anybody think Justin Guarini, or however you spell is tired of coming to these things? He’s been to like everyone of these Idol events and continues to talk about performance recaps and reviews since his season ended, isn’t he tired of this sh**? I would be tired of it, I would go be doing something with my life that’s non Idol related!

    Man, what suckage. Not only my score in the pool, but at least half this top 12. Lord!

    Oh, Katie will at least get to top 10 and be on the tour. And AI will be grateful, because without significant pre-teen appeal, how are they going to sell *any* tickets?

    I predict that Lacey and Paige are the two who won’t make the tour. Possibly Andrew, if he doesn’t pull himself together soon. But I feel pretty confident in saying that, with so much meh-ness from all ages and genders, this feels like a season when female-hormonal-voting will win the day and the weakest girls with the least young-teen appeal will almost inevitably be ousted first.

    So you’ve got Katie for at least three more weeks.

    She might become vulnerable pretty quickly after that, though, I think, unless some of the guys — notably the less eye-candyish or tween-pet two, Andrew and Lee, start to put together some very strong performances. I don’t know what the odds are of that — probably slim!

    Anyway, I see Paige and Lacey going immediately.
    Then Andrew, Lee, Katie, and maybe Aaron and Didi, all in a mid-bunch in no particular order. And if anybody survives this mid-level-five blood bath, I predict that it will be Katie.
    Then I predict Siobhan and Michael become vulnerable, again in no particular order.
    Leaving us with a top three of Crystal, Casey, and Tim.
