Paula Abdul told the folks at TV Guide that her Top 3 contestants are Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Ricky Braddy.

I dislike Danny Gokey due to overpimping and low tolerance for sob stories, but I have no problems with Adam winning. He’s awesome so far.

The first recollection I have of Paula making a public declaration about DC was Neil Diamond week. I have no idea if she said anything earlier in the competition or not …

I’m gonna go with Top 4 night, Jolene. She went so far as to say she felt like she was looking at the next American Idol after his performance of “All I Really Need is You.” The next night, he hinted that he felt like she had jinxed him.

So choosing 3 contestants to be the last two standing is not the same as calling the winner, but it’s still not bad– assuming we believe her claim, , of course.

Heh, if that’s true, Paula’s even wackier than I thought. She notarizes her selection then sends it to herself?
Why would she even need to send it? Why not just stick it in a safe somewhere? Why not give it for safekeeping to some media outlet so they can have a big reveal when/if she’s eventually right?

I’m not sure I take her word on this one.

Out of all the wacky things Paula does, this is the only thing I DON’T think is wacky. That’s totally something I would do. Better than what Simon does, which is back track and deny when it turns out he was wrong.

The Paula story was cool and to be honest, a little business-savvy. Because if ever Paula needs some spending money in the future, a notarized prediction of who is going to win/be in the final three could garner her some serious bucks. That’s for 7 seasons and counting…

You can see his name on the scrolly thing as the song plays, but it’s spelled Ricky Brady.

Ricky went to Belmont college and hung around Nashville for awhile, so it’s possible that he sang on songwriters demos…

I thought it was the first song and thought that this is a voice I can love, but turns out it’s another one lower down. It’s fine I think, has a bit of the Dan Fogelberg vibe, but a bit dull, and I’m not sure this kind of singing will work well on AI, perhaps he might show a bit of variety later on.

I guess the notary is for witness proof? Stupid question, but are notaries dated? Because if not sending it to herself would make it dated. Personally, I think she may have a good ear/eye for this type of thing, she just doesn’t know how to express, or when…(poor Jason).

Paula picks the winners the same way I always know who’s going to win the super bowl by the second week of the preseason. I write it in a note to myself, that no one else gets to read, and by golly, I’m always right LOL.

Are you talking about the guy singing “I Want You Back” in the first group performance during Hollywood week? That was definitely Matt. His name was mentioned at least twice.

I wanted to like Ricky Braddy (well, mainly because I love being surprised by the “silent ones” every year) but that song almost put me to sleep.

I find it believable that Paula has picked most of the winners. It makes sense that she didn’t announce her picks, as that would be showing favoritism which she doesn’t do as much as Simon does.

Paula might be a bit eccentric but she’s a sweet person and bottom line, she knows music. She knows music in her bones and her heart, unlike Simon who seems to know it more as a money-making venture. I remember Paula complimenting DC many times with great enthusiasm last season. If anyone gets it wrong most of the time (with predictions) it’s Simon. He’s known for that. He’s also the one who says “no” to sending the eventual winners or top finalists to Hollywood. He didn’t “get” DC, Daughtry, or Kelly for starters.

My point is, I believe Paula and don’t think she’s making it up about picking the winners. She’s got good intuition when it comes to music, I think.

Its about time we are able to hear from this guy…Ricky Braddy can SING!… I love his tone! …its so pure!! Now we know he can sing a ballad!! I want to hear him sing some upbeat stuff too though!

Eleanor Rigby is the first time I remember Paula publicly predicting David would win. She says she’s been telling everyone the he’s the “dark horse” at about 3:35 in this video.

I like Ricky’s voice, but it was hard to focus on it since the song was so boring. Hopefully he’ll get a chance to show us some personality in his singing before long.

I only listened to like half of the song, cause that was quite boring. But the voice was OK. Not gonna judge someone by a studio song though, live is what matters.
