Jersey à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬' John Ondrasik heads a band called Five for Fighting; you can split hairs and point out that without him there is no Five for Fighting, just like there would be no Train without Pat Monahan, but we can agree as I have seen both acts live that live that both front other musicians which constitutes a band, and lead singerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.I am not in the Adam camp; I think he is a talented singer with a voice that I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t much care forà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦I think the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“connectionsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ that he makes are practiced performance art, and that he is a fantastic salesman.

I understand that the person attended the rehearsal. But who really knows what happened after that? Maybe Anoop said "You know Rickey, that arrangement felt a little too fast to me. Could we slow it down?" All I mean is that it's too hard to know what went on behind the scenes.

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t imagine that the band did that. They are professionals who have been doing this a long time.

jersey, the comment was made by someone who DID attend the rehearsal, but I don't recall her/his name. I'd have to go through about 7 pages of posts.

Even if Anoop does go home tonight, I really NEED to know if the band messed up!

Also, if this does happen - what can a singer do?

(BTW, I do believe this has happened before.)

Late to the party but here goes...

There were no trainwrecks last night but overall, I thought the show was kind of boring.

1 Kris Allen - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“She Works Hard For The Moneyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Donna Summer) 24.5/30 (vocals - 8.5, stage presence - 8, song choice - 8) - Best overall performance this week. Solid vocals.

2 Allison Iraheta - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Hot Stuffà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Donna Summer) 24/30 (vocals - 8, stage presence - 8, song choice - 8) - Donna Summer week continues with a smoky rock version of the disco hit.

2 Adam Lambert - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“If I Can't Have Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Yvonne Elliman) 24/30 (vocals - 8.5, stage presence - 8, song choice - 7.5) - I didn't like his arrangement as much as those from previous weeks but his vocals remain strong.

4 Anoop Desai - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Dim All The Lightsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Donna Summer) 21/30 (vocals - 7.5, stage presence - 6, song choice - 7.5) - The vocals are smooth but I was hoping for more energy. I understand he muffed several lines (though I didn't catch them) so that might be the reason for his tentative performance overall.

5 Danny Gokey - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Septemberà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Earth Wind & Fire) 20.5/30 (vocals - 7, stage presence - 6.5, song choice - 7) - One of my favourite songs from the late '70s. While not a disaster, Danny also didn't do anything special with it.

6 Matt Giraud - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Stayin' Aliveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Bee Gees) 20/30 (vocals - 7, stage presence - 7, song choice - 6) - Not bad, if one were looking for good karaoke fare, but not good enough to stand out from the crowd.

7 Lil Rounds - à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I'm Every Womanà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Chaka Khan) 19/30 (vocals - 7, stage presence - 6, song choice - 6) - Vocals were actually ok this week but the overall performance was nothing special. However, I'm deducting a point from stage presence for not being able to keep her trap shut while being critiqued by the judges.

What were Randy, Kara, and Paula smoking last night? Only Simon's critiques has any basis in reality.

Pimping Danny has got to stop. His performance was just as kareoke as Lil's and just as bad. As was Anoop's and Matt's. They were all 4 terrible and kareoke. It made me gag to hear Randy talking about what great vocalists they are this season. What a bunch of crap. I know it's their job to whip up enthusiasm for the weakest season ever but it's hard to watch them lose all credibility. I was really disappointed in Randy last night and usually I adore him.

Adam, Kris, and Allison are the only ones with real talent and star potential. Matt has talent but it's overshadowed by his many terrible performances as he tries desperately to please the judges. What's with the hat? He's not being himself and he seems desperate. He's flailing.

Adam, Kris, and Allison should be in the top 3. The other 4 are way out of their league and have been all along. Send them all home and put us out of our misery. Worst.season.ever.

I know there were a few at the rehearsal. Someone said the BAND messed up Anoop by playing the song slower than at rehearsal. Would this explain why his performance and persona lacked luster?

Donna's version is a bit faster.

WHAT CAN A CONTESTANT DO IF THE BAND DOES THIS?

Disco died a quick and merciful death in the late à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢70s, so why would AI want it as a theme? Horrible music and really boring performances by all.

The beat in Disco "beat" received a revival in the 1990s. Along with it came a big dedication to the Lindy Hop. Some women were actually able to wear some of the clothes they had in 1976. LOL!

Since I was there both times - I loved it.

IMO, this morningà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s final www.votenumber1.com totals are much more indicative of the real voting patterns:

Adam - 37.05%
Kris - 19.52%
Allison - 14.16%
Anoop - 12.08%
Matt - 7.89%
The Gokey - 7.29%
Lil - 2.02%

Oh, background_noise, it would be so wonderful if this would be the actual results. One can only hope. I am getting physically ill listening to the garbage praises for Danny. It would seem that Kris' performance would take away votes for Danny.

However, Paula TOLD us Adam and Gokey are in the Final 2. Egads... Adam will win.

Would someone define the following for me:

Rock
Hard Rock
Glam Rock
Alternative Rock

Rock is the genre from which all other forms of rock is derived.

A lot of people think Rock started in the 70's but it really started in the 50's. Originally called "Rock and Roll" (a 50's euphemism for having sexual intercourse) it is a blend of "black music", gospel music and blues. Most commonly rock and roll songs consisted of 3 chords.

Hard Rock/Heavy Metal are characterized by lots of loud guitar and electric instruments and a distinctive heavy beat.

Glam Rock is a rock band that wears makeup and can be theatrical . Think Queen, Kiss, Bowie. You can be a hard rock/glam rock band. Think Alice Cooper and Kiss.

Alternative Rock doesn't necessary mean a rock band. It pretty much means a band that plays music that isn't easily classified and records on an independent lable and gets played on college radio. Think R.E.M, Nervana, RHCP, Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes.

Glam Rock is a rock band that wears makeup and can be theatrical . Think Queen, Kiss, Bowie. You can be a hard rock/glam rock band. Think Alice Cooper and Kiss.

Alternative Rock doesn’t necessary mean a rock band. It pretty much means a band that plays music that isn’t easily classified and records on an independent lable and gets played on college radio. Think R.E.M, Nervana, RHCP, Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes.

Would someone define the following for me:

Rock
Hard Rock
Glam Rock
Alternative Rock

That's tough. I see rock fans debating about it all the time. I don't think there's a perfect definition for any of them. The easiest to identify IMO is glam rock, which is basically exactly what it sounds like. I think the best thing to do would be to go on Wikipedia and look up each one. That should give you a good idea.

Even someone such as Elvis wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t really unique, he just sounded like a black man in a white body. I think that, with a little searching, we could probably find a pretty good clone for every singing star out there.

I respectfully disagree. Having been to Las Vegas and Branson, I have seen more than 25 Elvis Tribute artists and impersonators. Some sound very much like Elvis; some look very much like Elvis; and some have the stage persona of Elvis Presley - however, I sincerely believe there will never be anyone who has the total package. Honest.

Adam is the most unique and one of the most talented contestants to grace the stages of AI. I do see him most like David Bowie. The flash and flare, the talent, the persona, and the voice. He is a star!!

Five for Fighting IS John Ondrasik. It's one guy, not a band. It's his stage name. I do like his falsetto and generally I am not a big falsetto fan.

I am totally on the Adam/Kris final two train at this point.
