It is amazing to see Anoop still standing since he definitely cannot match the singing talent of Jorge.

At no time did Ryan say that Anoop had the 4th lowest votes. This was done for drama.

I still maintain that this new rule is a direct result of Taylor Hicks having won season 5.

Please help me understand this. At no point was Taylor in the Bottom 3. I read that he had the top votes every week. Daughtry was in the TOP 4, so this rule wouldn’t have helped him.

Over here we saw about 10 seconds of a commercial, then came the Ford commercial already in progress.

I feel that Jorge could have stayed on longer. In my opinion, he sang way better than Megan, for example. Phil Stacey said on à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Idol Tonightà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  that he had received a lot of e-mails from his LA Times blog, where many people felt that Jorgeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s performance was not like what the judges said. I, and I know many Latinos, are upset that he left. I feel that, by eliminating him, Idol might have alienated many a Latino person watching the show. I have grown up listening to many a Latino artist, and they have some of the best voices around. I hope that this is not the last I hear from him.

I’m Latina and I didn’t care if Jorge left. He wasn’t the only Latino/Latina on the show. Allison Iraheta is still on the show. Last year there were 5 Latinos in the top 12. I had to remember that. I didn’t sit there and count how many Asians, how many blacks or how many Latinos were on the show. I sit and watch the contestants and singers I like.

I do believe Anoop was under the weather on Tuesday. Poor guy, I hope he shines this coming week!

Anoop has no originality and no identity as a singer, and is not a good singer. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s simply there because heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute and has a nice personality. It sucks that better singers have to go home because of him. And I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know why Michael is there.

Yes, he does have a great voice but I think he has been confused by the show. When he did Angel of Mine (which I though was good and underrated), the judges said it was boring and then when he did My Prerogative, they liked it but was perceived as just an entertainer. Anoopà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s friend said that he was sick from after the wildcards (Friday) and had to be given shots before he performed on Tuesday, that might be why he was not ON during his performance..

His friend also said that since Anoop was the last picked (or wildcard pick), by the time he was given the songlist, a lot of the songs have been taken and/or were not available..

and my 30′s son (who will only watch a little of idol and was big time into high school choir) is pretty impressed with Adam’s vocal range and performance skills so he has also watched his youtubes ….

wonder if Dannyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s youtube hits have more to do with curiosity (wife, church, slouchy style, pelvic thrusts) than charisma. Just an observation. Because if he keeps doing controversial things each week, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a matter of time before heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll become the king douchbag or resident geek.

My observation is that there are actually AI viewers who enjoyed Danny’s performance and like his voice. Like me for instance.

Frankly, I don’t think Danny’s all that controversial – not that I really care to get exercized about any of the alleged “controversy” – except for LOLZ. I don’t care who Adam Lmabert kisses any more than I care about watching anyone suck face in public. I didn’t care about Jesse Langseth’s DUI – because she did her time. I didn’t care that Nick/Normund was there as a comedian first and a singer second. I don’t care about any of the alleged controversies – except, you know for the lolz. People are funny, sad, sometimes embarrasing, just human.

Well, that’s not true… I didn’t like the Tatiana controversy because I think she was really insane – and it was uncomfortable to watch her melt-downs and how the PTB used her deliberately to cause controversy. I can assure you I had no interest in watching her videos again after the fact.

Where do you listen to their itune recording if you do not have an ipod and your 15 year old son refuses to download anything American Idol on his?

sumidol, before I got an iPod, I would download them from iTunes and listen to them on my PC or burn them onto a CD and listen in my car. My sister did the same thing for years.

Every time I see Kelly sing, she always sounds great to me on the choruses, because man, can she belt. But I feel like she always gets shaky on the verses. Her voice did sound shotà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.but the few times Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard her live on TV, she always sounds shaky to me on the verses.

I agree with this and everything you wrote in your post, brextra. I only started watching during S3, and Kelly has kind of underwhelmed me both times I’ve seen her perform on the show. (Her cover of Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain” was very good, but paled in comparison to Patty’s version.) And did Kelly always look so, not to be unkind but, frumpy? She seemed more Ann Wilson than Katy Perry (not that that’s a bad thing!).

I thought Jorge was a sweet kid, but that performance was just godawful. Incredibly cheesy. Poor kid. I hope he’s a big hit back home though. I think he’d make a much better Latin recording artist. Anoop, OTOH, as much as he seems like a major over-hyped flop, sounds great in his recordings. I actually liked his “Angel of Mine” performance. He needs to stand still and just sing until the judges and America becomes convinced he can actually sing. FWIW, my tween (the one who lived for Taylor Hicks and David Archuleta) loves Anoop and Allison. I bought their recordings for him this week and they’re both great. As is Adam’s, which I bought for myself! :wub_tb:

Danny probably learned his dance moves at one of his church’s drag parties. Seriously, if Adam can get raked over the coals for kissing a boy (and, no doubt, liking it), Danny should get some media scrutiny for this f**ked up church, whose payroll he sat on and which, no doubt, pays for at least some of the eyewear (since some of them include the church’s logo).
