I believe that they wanted Anoop and Matt into the finals, but had to add the extra spot to get more girls in.

Simon implied that Anoop was the 13th contestant, which is far from the truth. They just don’t want any more girls getting eliminated. I still think Jesse would have done a better job than Jasmine.

JX223, I like the comments you made regarding Anoop. It’s do or die next week.

I think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s highly disrespectful of the judges to show such obvious favouritism to 1 or 2 competitors so early in the competition, especially after seeing only a handful the nightà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s performances.

They did the exact same thing last year with little David, it made me nuts because I was on the Castro train. So if it’s your pick it’s ok, if not, not so much. At this point in the game it’s anybody guess, so I guess it’s just wishful thinking on the judges part.

I just don’t like what I think is coming.

Overall, I thought the show was better than I thought it would be

Lil Rounds – Liked her, thought she did a good job

Michael Sarver- was better than I thought he’d be, better than he was on the semifinals

I thought Danny Gokey’s vocals were good, but for some reason, I started laughing at his dancing. I don’t know why.

Allison- I thought she was great, one of the best of the night. I also liked Alexis.

I liked Adam best going into this week, and I still do out of all of them. But I have seen some of his performances on youtube that I like better than what he has done on AI so far. THough I thought he did give a terrific performance.

Rest were just ok.

All that being said, because it was a Michael Jackson week, after the show, I felt like watching David Cook’s performance of Billie Jean, and liked it better than anything I saw on last night’s show. Though there were some good performances last night with some originality, I don’t see myself still listening to them a year from now. Of course, it is early in the season, and I didn’t think I would still like David Cook so much this time last year. I tend to like rock and alternative rock, though, which is why I like David Cook so much. I don’t see anyone fitting into that this year, except maybe Adam. But as I said, it’s early in the season, and it is shaping up better than I thought it would during the semifinals.

Honest to freakin’ Jesus…Megan should be sent the fuck home for singing that song and doing the crow caw. (wrong damn bird!) And she CAN*t sing worth beans!

Jasmine wasn’t as bad as I thought at first….a bit flat but she’s not the worst singer there. Don’t think she should be sent home.

I don’t think Jorge was that bad either.

One of the following should get the boot: Megan, Scott, Kris or Michael….please.

I think she seems like a sweet girl, but I just don’t like her voice. I wish I could, but I want the Megan that we saw in her audition, not the one that can’t hold a note for more than 2 seconds.

But, I have to admit that although he was quite dorky last night, he probably sounded good to those viewers who do not already hate his guts like I do.

My parents don’t hate his guts and they still thought he was terrible. I do hate his guts and thought he was terrible too.

I think it sounded like he drank milk before he sang. he had that weird gargling sound you get when you have some kind of dairy product and then try to sing. It really messes with your voice. I’m not making excuses for him, though, because I don’t like his voice even when he doesn’t sound like he just drank milk.

Ugh, I can’t stand him. If commercial is the key word this year, why do they like him? He’s got to be the least commercial contestant in the entire group!

I like both of them.

If Megan can stay on the notes I like her quite a bit and if she can’t then she shouldn’t be on American Idol. Last night she was good.

Alexis was a bit over the top for me, I’m not sure that wail and squat performance is were she should be as a performer. And her Dirty Diana “choice” in conjunction with the judges telling her to “dirty it up” and Alexis’ face when she finished (not happy) makes me think she got a producer forced song, a la Jorge, rather than any kind of choice in the matter.

Anoop is safe, he has a really big fan base.

But, apparently not a big enough fan base to keep him over Michale in the finals. So, I”m not so sure. I like Anoop, but he hasn’t performed well. I won’t be surprised at all to see him go early.

I still love Megan, even if it’s getting lonely. I’m pretty fond of Alexis as well.

I do not see the appeal in Matt at any level. And, Scott is not good enough to me to be here, but I can see why America likes him.

Jasmine is simply not ready for this. Both Michael & Kris have good voices, I’m just not sure either is interesting enough to hold the public’s attention long-term.

I think both Lil and Alison are quite good, and I’d enjoy seeing more of them if they make it through tonight.

Adam wasn’t his best, but he’s still far more interesting than most of the rest of these people. Jorge is sweet, but he’s not going deep into this competition.

Adam is actually not a favorite of mine, but I have to admit to looking forward to what he’s going to do each week. I think he’s got mad vocal skills, and I really WANT him to be a favorite – but he keeps screaming at me. Maybe next week will be different. (I said that last week, btw. And, in fairness, this week was less screamy.)

I was entertained by Anoop, and at the same time … disappointed. He was fun to watch, but the vocals weren’t [understatement alert] all that great. Jasmine came on the show too soon (young). I think she’s going to be very good one day. Not today. She’s lovely, though. Lil was very good, but I don’t feel any connection with her. I liked Jorge a lot, until last night. I was not feeling that song from him. Megan I’ve not disliked. I find her interesting vocally, and I like “interesting.” When I heard she was doing “Rockin’ Robin” I thought: Excellent choice! I was wrong. Hated the Caw! Caw! most of all. I kind of hope she gets another chance – but just one. Michael seems to be a heck of a nice guy, with a really “nice” voice. He should go the country route (1. To be “different” in this pack; and 2. Because I think it suits him) if (Big IF) he gets to stick around. Scott (another nice guy) underwhelmed me.

Danny (TCOs automatically get their own paragraphs – it’s in “the rules”. See Adam, above.) was okay. I wasn’t jumping up and down for joy, or turning the sound down.

Everyone dissing on Kris!.. I think he brings something new for this season. Yeah he doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t have a big vocals like the other guys, but thats what makes him.. him!! I hope people dont think oh yeah the only reason why kris is in is becaues the girls think hes cute!!(i hate it when i hear that)à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ Thats just what i think.!

I don’t think he did great last night and he’s not one of my favorite, but he seems like a nice person. He’s one of those people who I wouldn’t buy his album, but I wouldn’t mind at all if he stuck around for awhile. He’s one of the few contestants this year who I can see being a part of this year’s little Idol ‘family’ if that makes sense.
