ETA: OK, I’m hearing that these are probably correct…

Isn’t dress rehearsal until about 5 pm PST?

I just got this in an email from somebody I don’t know. But Carie (who didn’t get in to dress rehearsal today) said it was possible the rehearsal could have been earlier.

Keeping in mind that folks LOVE to punk, I’m not going to stand behind this list 100%

If these turn out to be false, I’ll edit in the real ones later…

In the mean time–have fun!

Megan didn’t perform and we never saw her – she had a “wardrobe malfunction.”

Matt Giraud – So Small (played piano)
Scott MacIntyre – I recognized his song, but for the life of me I can’t
remember the name of it. (played piano)
Michael Sarver – Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up
Allison Iraheta – Blame It on Your Heart
Kris Allen – To Make You Feel My Love (sat on a stool)
Adam Lambert – Ring of Fire (very sexy Eastern-influenced version that pretty much made every woman over the age of 20 in the audience ready to jump him)
Lil Rounds - Independence Day
Danny Gokey – Jesus, Take the Wheel (partial standing O)
Alexis Grace – Jolene
Anoop – You Were Always on My Mind

Not sure if the performance order is correct since I didn’t take notes. The first four are definitely correct, although again we don’t know where Megan is in the lineup since she didn’t perform. It definitely seemed to me like theywere saving the “fan favorites” for the second half. Adam and Danny by far gotthe biggest audience reaction, both before, during, and after their performances. Right now it seems like they are the clear front-runners. Everyone else was good, but they both had that extra something.

ETA: More from my source:

Another reason that the dress rehearsal seemed to end early, in addition to the start time and lack of Megan, was that Ryan was not there.   One of the producers read all his stuff before the   contestants sang instead.   Lil also sang again at the end because they messed up something during her run-through.   But in general, without any video packages or banter with Ryan (not to mention lack of commercial breaks), the performances just zipped by.   I noticed in the comments that Carie B is questioning my ability to remember songs.   Most of the songs were not announced by name, and there was no display on a monitor of what they were.   Scott’s song is very much in the same vein musically as the type of song he did last week.

Danny Gokey – Jesus, Take the Wheel (partial standing O)

    If this is true then…

    Yikes.

I bet he screeched/screamed through it again, which the judges will declare to be “amazing vocals.”

And doesn’t the audience give a standing O to everybody?

  • maracaibo

So Matt G is screwed tonight with that song.

Oh well. I think he won’t make the tour at all. Poor guy.

  • star

These are definitely right. A few were posted at IDF (Adam, Danny, Lil, Alexis) and they all match up.

  • kerfuffle

Thanks, mj. It will be interesting to see if these are real. They didn’t say if Adam screamed, though. Here’s hoping not.

ETA: So they look “real” then. Hmmm…

  • milajoy

MJ, I had a a friend of a friend at the rehearsal. It did get over early and I have 5 of those songs already. The list does jive…

  • folk

well it comes across as real….but after season 1-7 i bet fake spoilers have gotten very good:)

  • SashaB

Soundscene: And doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t the audience give a standing O to everybody?

    BWAH! So true. Hee.

Adam HAS to be doing Dilana’s version from RockStar

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whtQZJ7R3EU

  • kat110

If these are true I will be so happy because that’s what I was hoping Adam would sing…but I’ll wait and see.

  • folk

god i loved dilana in a total girl crush way.

  • folk

but if he does her version and fails to credit her….scandal will ensue.

  • http://myspace.com hgzaj

I do hope these are NOT the correct songs……………… Jolene seems so boring for Alexis, unless she breaks out the guitar. Even that won’t be interesting. Brooke White sang it last year and I was bored.
Seems to me Danny and Adam are getting too much attention from the judges.

    Meh?

  • s0x_prisoner

Matt singing So Small?? Oh dear. Good luck, Matt!

  • justantonio

fingers crossed ANoop does Michael Buble version

  • KrazeeK120

There’s no way Danny could sing that song half as well as Carrie. He’s simply not close to her league vocally. If the judges EVEN tonguebathe him AGAIN, I think I’ll lose it!!

I can’t imagine that Matt’s will go over well either. I don’t think singing Carrie’s songs is such a good idea because she just has an incredible voice, and these people won’t measure up.

I’m looking forward to Adam’s, that seems to be a good song for him. The only other song choice I recognize is Alexis’ and I think that will suit her well, too. I’m not much into country music.

  • http://danielsisco.com Phlophonic

If they overpraise Adam again tonight I’m headed down there to personally shake some sense into the judges!!!

  • wolfsbane813

i see three carrie songs (i know ind. day was a cover…) in there …. and that makes me nervous. carrie is my bb girl…. and its going to suck if they screw it up tonight and have to sit on the same stage as her tomorrow…. lol. how nerve racking!

i love country music so i am looking forward to tonight… not so much danny screaming jesus take the wheel…. :/

  • wolfsbane813

i kind of want to know what megan does…. she worries me the most because i like her alot, but this week could ultimately be her downfall…

its going to be her and anoop in the bottow two tomorrow… :/

  • Fender

Interesting choices. I think Adam and alexis made smart choices. I think sarver’s will be an epic fail. The soul boys covering carrie could be disastrous, but who knows? Wish we knew what megan was singing, I’m very interested in seeing what she came up with.

Danny Gokey – Jesus, Take the Wheel (partial standing O)

    lmao lmao…

i predict my spine is going to cringe.

  • amiroamor

To Make You Feel My Love – Beautiful song. I hope Kris doesn’t make it sound boring. High hopes, high hopes.

So Small – Man, Carrie’s song. I hope he’ll survive though I’m not a fan.

Jesus, Take the Wheel – I’m predicting a standing O from Randy & Paula, Kara perhaps. No matter how sucky he sings that song. Yikesss!!

  • leome

It’s strange Adam and Alexis are not in the first 4 to go… lame!

  • stelladallas

I’m not surprised that these youngsters chose Carrie songs. It’s probably some of the only country they know.

  • sr4mjc

Do they usually let them credit the person the night they sing it? I don’t remember cook crediting Cornell the night he did his version of a song.

  • jersey

I don’t know the song that Michael is singing, but judging by the title, is this really “idol family friendly”? Or is my mind just going someplace it shouldn’t? LOL :blush_tb:

  • bean99

I wasn’t impressed by Dilana’s version of “Ring of Fire” and doubt I will be if Adam does it although there was no screaming so maybe I’d be okay with it, lol.

I’m much happier with Anoop doing “You were Always on my Mind” than “Before he Cheats” but it’s a bit of a snoozer. Maybe it will make the judges happy, especially if he jazzes it up a bit.

I think it’s probably better for guys to do Carrie songs than the girls because they’re less likely to get the comparison which you can’t win.

  • frogcooke

ring of fire? All I see are matador suits when i hear that song….. *shuddder*

  • megkat

Really, really looking forward to Kris tonight. One of my favorite songs

  • http://www.myspace.com/gundomom CarieB

Yeah, I got there almost an hour earlier than I normally did last year, and I was not allowed in – the line for DWTS was already swelling on the sidewalk, so the show definitely started (and presumably ended) earlier than usual.

While quite a bit of this feels authentic, a couple of things are bugging me based on past experiences attending the rehearsals:

    1. I didn’t always take notes and I always remembered performance order.

    2. I always remembered the names of the songs AND who they were by – not because I’m a musical genius but because Ryan announces the song title and artist AND it’s on a big screen monitor for all to see just before the song starts.

    3. Megan didn’t perform? WTF? I don’t know where she was slotted in performance order but they don’t have to do these things in sequence during rehearsal so even if her wardrobe “malfunctioned”, they could have put her at the end.

Just sayin’. But if true, I am genuinely worried about my boy, Matt. Can’t wait for Adam and am also hoping for the Dilana version!

  • haininh

I’m so happy with Anoop’s choice if that’s true!

  • cacity87

I think Matt could do amazing with “So Small.”

First off, he’s not a chick trying to outsing Carrie. He’ll probably put his little soul twist on it. And Second, he’s got the runs down…”So smaaaalll..yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah…” I can hear it now. :)

    KILL IT, MATT!

  • Michelle

sr4mjc – nah, if we’re lucky Ryan has time to say the name of the song and usually that’s it. I dunno why they don’t just do a text credit on the screen like sytycd does.

So is this the performance order too? interesting if they gave anoop the pimpspot. maybe they like him after all.

Really, really looking forward to Kris tonight. One of my favorite songs

I’m pulling for him and it’s a pretty song, but he may get lost in the shuffle buried in the middle there (again.)

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

Do they usually let them credit the person the night they sing it? I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t remember cook crediting Cornell the night he did his version of a song.

Ryan introduced the song as an arrangement by Chris Cornell, but that was after all of the controversy over his other arrangements.

(Having said that, I don’t want this thread to turn into a discussion about what happened last year…)

Back on topic: Sometimes the song introductions are specific, sometimes they are not. Contestants borrow cover arrangements all the time.

  • annoula

do these people have an Original thought???????? thousands of songs and I am seeing multiple redoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢sà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦..this is so small and Jesus really needs to Take the wheel.

It’s hardly “thousands of songs” (check out the list posted earlier) and who knows how much power the contestants really have about choosing songs?

I hope Anoop is really doing “Always on my Mind.” It’s actually a song I’ve heard (selfish reason, I know!), it’s pretty, it’s slow, it’s not gimicky, and he can put some R&B into it. But he needs to STAND OUT. It’s not enough that he just sings it nicely.

    It is!!! :D

This list of who goes when….Scott just went 2nd and Alexis second to last???

  • Jx223

I think that Matt is going to be fine. I think that “So Small” is one of the Carrie songs that he can probably pull off. I had wanted Anoop to do a soulful R&B version of this song. But I think that Matt is going to do a decent job with it and hopefully get through. If he had chosen “Before He Cheats.” I might be more worried about him, but I think that he is going to be okay.

I like Anoop’s song choice considerably better than I do the one that I thought he might do “Before He Cheats.” Even though “Always on my mind” wasn’t at the top of my list for songs for him to sing this week, I hope that he does a decent job and proves to at least some that might doubt him that he can sing.

I am looking forward to Adam’s performance.

  • abbysee

Interesting choices for Anoop, Adam, and Alexis. Can’t wait to hear them. I could have facetiously chosen Danny’s song, but it would have been for shit and grins. Obviously the guy is insane. I am sure there will be weeping by Paula. Doesn’t matter, he is now pretty much on my hit list. If Adam is even mildly good I will begin voting for him tonight.

  • jersey

If that’s the order, Kris is the one that has to stand out. He’s dead in the middle of the pack, AND performing right before Adam. Hopefully there’ll be a commercial break between them so Kris’ performance has time to sit with the tv audience before Adam comes out.

  • annoula

Wait, is this the order too? If so, Anoop has the pimp spot! Wooohooo! Thanks, snuffles, for the video…perfect arrangement, but not much can get into 90 seconds…hope they don’t speed it up too much for him.

  • SpenserJ

Brooke White sang it last year and I was bored.

LOL – I still have this in my ipod rotation.

To Make You Feel My Love – Beautiful song. I hope Kris doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t make it sound boring. High hopes, high hopes.

I love that song. (I am of course partial to the Billy Joel cover).

    Anoop’s choice concerns me.

  • AnoopFan

    Im SO stoked for Noopy-D!

  • gingerly

I think Jolene is an amazing song. I think Brooke sucked last year singing it. Well, she didn’t sing it badly, just all sorts of wrongly. It’s not an upbeat smiley song…unless you are in it for the alimony I guess.

  • Miss Chaos

Aint Goin Down till the Sun comes Up is a real fast Garth Brooks song. I’ll be surprised if he can sing it as fast or get all the words straight. I used to linedance to that song and couldnt keep up LOL.

  • leome

And wasn’t Scott second last week too? And Michael and Allison weren’t in the first half?
I’m not liking that order at all, if it’s true

I don’t know half of those songs, I’ve googled them and I suspect Michael won’t do good at all, Kris could have a moment there, Anoop can do something really good with that one too (even though I find the song really boring)…

  • wolfsbane813

i’m reading that people thought anoop was going to do before he cheats… isn’t that a very gender specific song…? lol

  • Niall

Allison potentially made a very good song choice. If it is the same song I am thinking of, there is plenty of room for her to add a little Pink or Kelly Clarkson to the vocals.

Adam picked the perfect song, it was one of a handful of songs from the spoiler list that I thought he’d be able to transform.

Danny Gokey doing “Jesus Take the Wheel” is not at all surprising. I’ll bet he even squeezes out a few tears tonight for good measure (not to mention I’m sure his wedding ring will mysteriously return to his left hand after being off as recently as Sunday). He managed to not annoy me last week but it looks like his determination to inspire/annoy me has overtaken him again. LOL

I wish somebody had done Garth’s “More than a Memory.” It’s his most recent hit and would have worked for a male or female with a good range.

Kris Allen – To Make You Feel My Love (sat on a stool)

This is a gorgeous song. There are a bajillion versions of it–Bob Dylan (of course), Billy Joel, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, etc. None of them are particularly different from the others. Most use piano. Dylan uses a guitar, and I suspect that’s what Kris will use, but with less of a twang and more of an acoustic feel.

  • lefty

For a traditional country girl Patty Loveless can rock it and I hope Allison really is going with her “Blame It On Your Heart”. Seems like a good fit.

  • jezebelle99

Mmmm, I hope Adam sings the Johnny Cash :)

  • kiwifan

Lol, if the song choice for Anoop is true, lets hope he hasn’t done either of these versions:

In 1985, David Hasselhoff covered this Song on his album “Night Rocker”
In 1988, Alvin and the Chipmunks included a version of the song on their cover album Born to Rock.

I don’t think the singing order at rehearsal is necessary the final line up.

  • Grammie Kari

I hope Anoop is really doing à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Always on my Mind.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s actually a song Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard (selfish reason, I know!), ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s pretty, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s slow, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not gimicky, and he can put some R&B into it. Oh, I so hope he does! It is such a beautiful song and never boring to me. He has the great voice, now is the time to bring it out! Let’s go Anoop!

The other two performances I am anxious to see are Adam and Alexis! This should fun. I am betting TPTB would like to keep all four girls for the tour. Maybe Megan will pull it off, as I see her as the weakest link.

Even though it seems that some frown on a guy singing a song a girl has song, I would love to hear Danny sing “Jesus Take the Wheel.” That is basically the message behind Christianity: I can’t run my life very well. I will let Someone Who can do it better do it for me.

  • Grammie Kari

So, no one was brave enough to tackle Patsy Cline? Singing a Carrie song will be easier, but Danny Gokey? I just can’t picture it.

I also liked that Ford commercial last year using “Ring of Fire”! I can’t wait!

Anoop seems in a good position – if this is true!

  • MaryS-NJ

I hate to admit that I don’t know some of these songs at all. I’m glad no one attempted to do Patsy Cline.

I think Jolene is a good choice for Alexis. I actually think her voice is reminiscent of (a bluesier, grittier version of) a young Dolly Parton.

I wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t impressed by Dilanaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s version of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ring of Fireà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ and doubt I will be if Adam does it although there was no screaming so maybe Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d be okay with it, lol.

Me neither, and me too. Dilana’s performance was NOT my cup of tea, but I usually prefer Johnny Cash music without fuss.

I hate Jesus Take the Wheel. There, I said it. I hated it when Carrie sang it, and I’m sure I won’t like it any better when Danny sings it.

I like Always on My Mind, but I can’t imagine how Anoop could do this. Maybe he’ll surprise us.

  • Hoppy

Okay, so I’ve been basically ambivalent towards Danny Gokey so far. He has neither bothered me enough to hate him or done anything to make me love him. I just feel sort of… eh.

However… if these are true and he actually sings “Jesus Take The Wheel”, I will probably hate him with the red hot heat of a thousand suns.

I’m not even a fan of that song to begin with and it really never ever needs to be sung on Idol… ever.

(But conversely, if these spoilers are true, I look forward to Adam and Alexis the most. Interesting song choices that could truly be played with to suit both of them.)

Oh please let this be true. The comedy! Do you realize Danny will be giving a shout out to Jesus, while Adam will be singing a tribute to the burning fire of desire and forbidden love and other sinful things? OMG, please dress them in white and red respectively, AI. :devil_tb: :innocent1_tb: :lol_tb:

Well, if anyone had to touch the beloved and unequaled JC, I am glad it’s Adam. I’m also happy he didn’t go with IWALY, causing my IWALY hatred that burns with the fire of a thousand white hot suns to cancel out my semi-enthusiastic Adam support. I figure he could only improve on Dilana’s version, cuz girlfriend had great stage presence but her voice always sounded like she gargled with broken glass. I did like the arrangement, but I remember suspecting the House Band helped her out a lot with her arrangements anyway because she couldn’t write for shizz when left to her own devices. Maybe it will sound more like the old, old House of VooDoo cover.

I hope Anoop and Kris do well. Um, I don’t know the Carrie song Matt picked.

  • KrazeeK120

That is basically the message behind Christianity

Exactly. Which is why I can’t stand that he’s doing this song. I consider myself to be a religious person but I watch American Idol to be entertained, not converted. When I want to be spiritual, I go to church, not turn on the TV.

Exactly. Which is why I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t stand that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s doing this song. I consider myself to be a religious person but I watch American Idol to be entertained, not converted. When I want to be spiritual, I go to church, not turn on the TV.

Guess LaKisha shouldn’t have sung it either.

  • AnoopFan

I like Always on My Mind, but I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t imagine how Anoop could do this. Maybe heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll surprise us.

    Care to explain?

  • AnoopFan

I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think Willie Nelson was a member of the Old Opry, so wonder who also have covered Always On My Mind

He *used* to be, that’s what Im hearing :)

  • http://myspace.com/saltwatercures pj

Willie Nelson is a former member of the Opry, so he counts.

“”"” Bold Prediction: Matt will get panned by the judges for singing a Carrie Underwood song, while Gokey will be pimped to the high heavens.

…this is an art called>>>Talking out ALL sides of yo’ As* This is also why I affectionately call the panel O judges >>talking arses. It is ALL love.

I am not a big fan of country music, but I am hoping some of these idols blow us out of the water tonight

    AND

    it isn’t just a 2 man race!

I can’t wait to see Adam though.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gundomom CarieB

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think the singing order at rehearsal is necessary the final line up.

    It nearly always is.

It has always been the same order when I’ve attended/watched. I only brought up that they don’t HAVE to do the same sequence if there’s a problem such as a “wardrobe malfunction”

  • JudyOhio

I don’t know if Michael has the necessary energy to get through his song….cuz that there is COUNTRY!, lol

Adam will kill with his smoldering sexy closeups in the camera. He’ll play that face of his for all it’s worth….

Danny will do well on his song. He has experience in expressing religeous songs and he has the emotional background (wife story) to break people’s hearts if he truly emotionally connects with the lyrics………

Anoops is going to need some facial expression on his choice, he’ll have to emote emote emote and make us believe …

Oh wow….can’t go on….show is on in just a few…have to go get all situated…
coffee for husband, check!….chrunchy muchies and diet coke for me, check!…

    Enjoy all!

I was at the Dress Rehearsal and this song spoiler list is true.

  • icough444

If this list is true… (which I believe) it means that the “potential song list” posted on VFTW a few days ago is wrong, because several of these songs were not on this list…

  • flynnsgirl

People remember, the list of songs they give them is very small, Idol wants you to think these kids are idiots for the choices they make, when all along they had a very small list to choose from. Why do you think after 8 season we are hearing basically the same pool of songs.

  • primeminister

I was at the Dress Rehearsal and this song spoiler list is true.

How do you think they did, adh1018?

  • http://www.myspace.com/gundomom CarieB

adh – thanks. Is this the correct performance order?

  • Danica_K

Yay! I’ll be so happy if Anoop really is singing Always On My Mind. It’s such a gorgeous song and he’ll be able to show the doubters that he *can* sing. Bust it out, Noop Dogg!

I’ll be interested to see what Adam does with Ring of Fire. Tread lightly, Theaterboi, you’re treading close to Daughtry’s toes.

Danny Gokey is singing Jesus Take the Wheel? Well, color me surprised. [/sarcasm] My god, his douchebaggery knows no bounds. I predict: tonguebath from judges, mysterious reappearance of wedding ring, squirting of a few tears, inspiration pre-performance video clip. [/gagging]

Kris will do well with his song choice as long as he doesn’t dedicate it to his wife in the video package. Heh.

Alison should be interesting with a Patty Loveless song (my god but I love Patty). I don’t know. She’d better do Patty justice or she is dead to me.

    The rest? Meh.

  • abbysee

That is basically the message behind Christianity: I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t run my life very well. I will let Someone Who can do it better do it for me.

See that’s my biggest problem with HIM chosing this song. Evidently he doesn’t read the blogs. He doesn’t realize that some of us have been trying to give him a pass when he didn’t proselytize last week. We were hoping that it was the start of a trend, and that he would just perform and try to entertain. Most people don’t inspire by the things they say, but by what they do. Singing this song just fits into the perception of him as an ghoulish opportunist.

    More from my source:

Another reason that the dress rehearsal seemed to end early, in
addition to the start time and lack of Megan, was that Ryan was not
there. One of the producers read all his stuff before the contestants
sang instead. Lil also sang again at the end because they messed up
something during her run-through. But in general, without any video
packages or banter with Ryan (not to mention lack of commercial
breaks), the performances just zipped by. I noticed in the comments
that Carie B is questioning my ability to remember songs. Most of the
songs were not announced by name, and there was no display on a
monitor of what they were. Scott’s song is very much in the same vein
musically as the type of song he did last week.

  • kiwifan

Can’t believe Kris can do that song as well as Adele, but I think it will still be good

  • beesims

I like Allison’s choice. She is a smart little 16 year old. I think Alexis could infuse “Jolene” with the desperation that Brooke couldn’t muster and I am so happy that Lil stayed away from “I Will Always Love You” or Faith Hill.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gundomom CarieB

Only questioning was based on MY experiences. I always stand with the swaybots on the right side of the stage and there is a monitor right there that displayed all the song titles. If you were sitting in the seats or in a different part of the “pit” you might not have seen it.

  • Tess

Adam’s version of Ring of Fire…if middle eastern was originally done by Wall of Voodoo

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVZm46iln5I

So this should be who is credited with the arrangement!!

True, Carie…Dress rehearsal is to work out the kinks…

  • chessguy99

Something tells me that Michael’s Ain’t Going Down Till the Sun Comes Up is going to be similar to his I Don’t Want To Be. He really needed a country crooner, melt the ladies song. Last week’s performance proved his voice would have been perfect for that.

  • St.Lucia

Oh please let this be true. The comedy! Do you realize Danny will be giving a shout out to Jesus, while Adam will be singing a tribute to the burning fire of desire and forbidden love and other sinful things? OMG, please dress them in white and red respectively,

I’d love every second of it!

Although I’ll probably mute Gokey, but if he was in all white I’d enjoy it silently!

Let them perform right after one another too!

  • SpenserJ

I hate Jesus Take the Wheel. There, I said it. I hated it when Carrie sang it, and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure I wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t like it any better when Danny sings it.

That might be because it’s a really stupid song.

  • Skylark

Do those of you who got into dress rehearsal get tickets way in advance over the website or what?

  • adh1018

The performance order was correct for dress rehearsal but I’m not sure about the actual show.

I liked everyone for the most part except Adam was very screechy. Even my friend who is a fan said his performance was excrutiating!

Anoop sounded good but he might be in trouble

Kris-loved (and he’s even hotter in person!)
    Allison-loved
    Michael-high energy, fun
    Matt-good
    Danny-REALLY good
Alexis-like her and liked the performance but did not love it
    Scott-sounded better live
    Lil-good
    Megan-did not see

I just wish I was more familiar with some of the songs…

  • greenturf

Well, maybe the order is partially correct?

So far Michael has gone and Ryan announced that Allison and Kris are up next. The list reflects that, but Matt and Scott weren’t the first two.

    We’ll see…

  • ShariG

Allison is my favorite girl this season. I loved her song choice and her energy.

  • ShariG

Randy Travis says Kris is a strong ballad singer and I agree. He has the heart for it. I agree. Very, very pretty. Kris hasn’t figured out the camera yet though and seems to avoid looking directly into it. David Cook did that so well last year. I liked this song.

  • ShariG

Simon says it was terrific. A great, great choice of songs. COmpletely in control of the song. Love it! I really like this kid.

  • LK09

I imagine Alexis has been told before that she looks a bit like Dolly Parton. I think Jolene could be a great song for her. I can’t watch for another hour. Patience…..

  • greenturf

I really liked Kris’s performance. It was nice.

  • ShariG

I’m glad Lil is going to do Independence Day. I think she’ll do a good job with it. I heard Pat Benetar sing this with Martina on the Crossover show. It has country rock potential.

  • ShariG

Simon is such an ass. He is insisting that her Lil is short for Little rather than short for Lillian. Isn’t it actually Lil for Lillian?? I wish she wouldn’t argue. They keep telling her she picked the wrong song. I actually thought Paula had the best feedback tonight. I know it is unusual, but I think she was right. One verse and than hit that strong chorus would have worked better for her.

  • ShariG

Where did everyone go. I am talking to myself. Sorry for all of the posts. Can’t wait to hear what Adam does with Johnny Cash.

  • ShariG

He has incredible range, but this is so campy. I don’t really care for it at all. Funny that Randy Travis commented on his nail polish. LOL

  • ShariG

Megan may not be the best singer, but she sure is beautiful.

  • ShariG

Strange night. My favorites of the night were Kris, Matt, and Allison. I liked Danny and Anoop. I was really disappointed in Adam, Lil, and Alexis. Scott is sweet but didn’t show me anything special tonight. If I were guessing tonight though, I would bet either Megan or Michael are going to be eliminated tomorrow.

  • Grammie Kari

I take it back, Megan was brave enough to do Patsy Cline! Nice job!

    Anoop was wonderful!!

Adam was unique – and I won’t say it was too weird. It was interesting!

I liked Lil’s performance but she repeated herself too many times. She’s not in danger, IMO.

I see Michael and Scott as vulnerable.
