Kris and Lil for Prom King and Queen!

  • papercut

Thank you for sharing! I missed a bit when I watched it earlier. Adam and Kris both look tired. I hope they have time for sleep after the show.

And why is Sarver talking so much when he obviously has the least fans? He is annoying. Alexis should have been there instead of him. Alexis got robbed. Megan didn’t speak that much tonight.

Nothing new tonight but I wish Adam and Kris had spoken more.

  • http://myspace.com/pm68 Pam

Adam and Kris really cracked me up at some points especially talking about the use of the hair care products.

Allison is just too cute for words.

Anoop is a riot too. I really got some good laughs out of this. LOL

“Megan didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t speak that much tonight.”

I especially noticed that. Really odd.

  • clearone

The more I see them together the more I think Kris, Adam and Matt are the 3 muskateers! Some of their facial expressions tonight just slayed me……especially when Scott went rambling on about his CD. Ryan to Scott ‘so are you signed?’ Good one Ryan! Then he quickly moved on to Adam. The he asked Adam about Queen!!!! Boy Adam sure didn’t want to say anything on that. If you notice when Ryan is pressing Adam, Kris is sitting there nodding his head as Ryan asks the question I think to encourage him to keep pressing then he starts flipping his hair like Mr Innocent. Then Ryan to Adam as he continued to hedge ‘LOOK ME IN THE EYES!……’ It would be a dream come true for Adam to do some guest appearances with Queen. God willing it will work out for him.

  • AC

Omg, Scott would not stop talking! That’s what I kept thinking the whole time.

  • maracaibo

I am posting this again from the previous thread.

Adam, Kris and Matt really came over super well in this interview.

IMO those three and Allison have a real shot to make it in the music business. Also Ryan asked Matt about what kind of album he hopes to do and who is he working with and he said he’s met people who are already out there who want to work with him, so we will see.

I can see Matt putting out music relevant to today. I just hope he ends up with a record deal, if not 19, with someone else. I love his recordings.

Kris is really nice, but he seems so quiet and a bit boring at times. But that is just his personality I guess. He will succeed for sure.

Adam is a rock star and I am sure he will front Queen once in a while. But he will sell millions of albums for sure.

Scott and Michael are totally clueless and believe they will become super stars once the tour is over. Sigh..

  • sonyab

Scott and Michael are totally clueless and believe they will become super stars once the tour is over. Sigh..
    ===============================================
Well they could be. You never know. :)

  • Cheetara86

Adison is prom King and Queen, they always look like they match….

I see Kradison as the 3 amigos..they seem to really sit close to each other during the interview…those 3 are adorable,

  • clearone

Kris is really nice, but he seem so quiet and a bit boring at times. But that is just his personality I guess. He will succeed for sure

They all were quiet compared to Scott! Lordy that guy needed a sock put in his mouth! At one point I think Kris turned around to look at him as if saying ‘are you for real?’ and Adam had a real ‘OMG is this over yet?’

Kris might have been quiet but he did make an excellent comment at the end about the differences between some of them and how they’ve overcome those and hopes that it would be an example for others. I have a feeling he was talking about he and Adam more than anything.

  • Suzanne

Why does Randy Jackson say things like “Every one of this top 10 has the potential to be a big star.” It’s just not true, and looks like Randy is either out of touch with the music industry or just plain full of it. Just looking at the track record of really talented people from past seasons, quite a few people seem to be working performers, but only four are becoming “stars” (Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry, Jennifer H) and about three or four might grow into huge stars in time or with a lucky song or a particularly accoladed performance (Fantasia, Jordin, David Cook, possibly David Archuleta).

It will not happen for most of the top 10. And lightening rarely strikes without a major label behind a performer.

  • weareallinnocent

I watched this in its entirety upon airing, but thank you for the videos cuz lil weareallinnocent stayed up to watch too — and I was a bit distracted… :-)

But, ahem, why do I have to listen to SO MUCH Scott and Micheal??????????? OMG, that was terribly annoying! Sorry, but TRUE!!!! Gah!

Adam and Kris looked really tired. I don’t remember the time, but I LOL’d when Kris turned and stared down (not that it mattered, sorry) Scott as he talked about falling asleep while he kept playing classical music. PERFECT reaction by Kris, kudos to him for that honest human reaction. Me? I was rolling my eyes!

Dang, if Scott and Michael didn’t ruin that show for me… At least the group gave Anoop the Most Intelligent and Most Likely to Run for Political Office monikers — leaving the big mouthes out in the rain. (Cruel, I know, but I was way over those two by the time class awards time came around!…)

  • clearone

Dang, if Scott and Michael didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t ruin that show for meà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Yeah and they had to be sittiing right behind Kris and Adam so they were on screen most of the show. :eek_wp:

  • ShellBen

Dang, if Scott and Michael didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t ruin that show for meà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ At least the group gave Anoop the Most Intelligent and Most Likely to Run for Political Office monikers à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ leaving the big mouthes out in the rain. (Cruel, I know, but I was way over those two by the time class awards time came around!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦)

I have to admit I kinda giggled when Anoop got the “most intelligent” title. I immediately pictured Marshall Scholar Scott clutching his heart with that answer.

  • http://missmeghann20.blogspot.com MissMeghann

Uhhh… Scott really needed to stop taliking so much! It was really annoying, and actually came over as kind of rude! He is NOT the best singer/performer of the bunch by far, (obviously). I also didn’t like how every time he spoke he had to add in “well since I’m this, or since I’m that…” It just came over as kind of desperate and really annoying. We don’t care about all of your qualifications! He seems like a nice enough guy but he just really annoys me.

Adam, Allison, Kris and Matt we’re for sure the best! I laughed a couple of times!! I loved when they we’re talking about Queen and Adam, and Matt said “Yeah, they talked to me too, I said I’d think about it” HAHAHA. Awesome!

Also, was Allisons face when they asked her about her school just hysterical?! Her faces are the best!!

  • GeminiDolly

Adam, how did you get so fabulous?
I was born that way. LOL.

  • KrisAllen1

It wasnt just Kris who didnt talk or was quiet. It was also Adam,Allison,Megan and even DANNY who was quiet.Scott was just rambling.I didnt get the sleeping classical piano thing.it didnt make sense. He was talking just to talk.
He’s not making a album so why did he but in?

  • jammasta

Kris and Adam definitely looked tired. Kris especially.

Kris might have been quiet but he did make an excellent comment at the end about the differences between some of them and how theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve overcome those and hopes that it would be an example for others. I have a feeling he was talking about he and Adam more than anything.

I agree with this, that was an excellent comment. Kris is probably only boring to some people because he’s so tired. Poor guy needs sleep.

  • Lu

I didn’t watch so do tell… did Scott get to play the piano and give everyone a compelling tv moment???

  • rockvixen

Scott is always trying to sell himself. Every interview he mentions how he’s written songs and looking forward to putting a cd out and to check out his website. He is annoying beyond belief because he is very narcissitic about his abilities. Scott doesn’t get it though…he’s an ok singer and pianist but I don’t think he should have made top 10. Scott really needs a reality check about his fans because more than likely a lot have deserted him after his last horrible performance and turned to Matt. I swear on the tour I’m going to go get something to eat when he performs because he bores me to tears. I like him he’s a funny guy but someone needs to give him a reality check on his singing and performing abilities.

Why was Randy doing on this show? Sheesh what a waste of time.

lol at No boundaries… Kris …it’s got a good message it’s got mountains and the hurricanes.
Ryan: Adam are you a mountain climber
Adam: I love climbing mountains and I cross every stream
    hahaha

  • taks

Adam and Kris are both so visibly tired in this video it’s ridiculous. Let them sleep!

On that note, I’m surprised they managed to stay awake through all of Scott’s inane rambling.

On the brighter side, I love Adam/Kris/Matt/Allison/Anoop.

  • clearone

Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not making a album so why did he but in?

Because he could. I think he overcompensates his lack of sight by talking so much.

  • idolstyleblessed

Adam comes off the best. Maybe it’s his age (at 27 he’s the second oldest) or theatre/performance background but his public speaking skills are superb.
He also let down his guard and came off as genuinely funny, slightly sarcastic (in a good way) and just very real. He also comes off very strong and in control. He even spoke up several times on his own like when he stood up for Kara. I think as people see more of Adam’s personality in inteviews like this people are actually going to like him more. He’s got the most charisma and just stands out.
Kris is sweet and very down to earth but he’s not a dynamic speaker. He slumps in the chair and at times it looked like he was chewing his nails. He also seems to take a lot of his cues from Adam…before he’d start tallking he’d look over at Adam almost for reassurance and he mirrors Adam…when Adam picks up his coffee cup, Kris follows and picks up his..when Adam looks one way, Kris looks that way, too. I don’t get a strong vibe from Kris…he just sorta fades into the background to me. Ryan kept having to direct questions to him specifically to try to pull him out and get responses from him. Kris doesn’t take the lead….Adam does.
Anoop did very well and Ryan seemed to call on him alot. Well-spoken with intelligent answers.
Matt did well, too. He had a couple good answers and was funny. The body language between him and Adam was also friendly and they joked some.
Danny faded into the background. He should have actually been seated on the other side of Kris since he did finish 3rd but he was pushed off to the end of the table and didn’t get much attention or camera time. I was getting a negative vibe there…maybe because he was being excluded.
Allison also didn’t have much to say. She’s so young I think she gets kinda intimidated.
Scott and Michael tried to hog the conversation. They’re delusional to think they’re going to have huge success.
Lil and Meagan were just kinda there. Not much impact.

  • mpland

Every time I see Sarver’s fat ass in the top 10 it really makes my blood boil Alexis Grace was robbed and should be on the tour

  • skylight1219

I’m watching it now on the rerun. Kris is ready to drop and I think that’s why he’s so quiet. Heck, they might all be glad to let Scott do the talking. I guess I don’t look at things so negatively.

  • pleazurs

Everytime I see them all together Danny and Allison are right by each other. I noticed it quite a while back. I had heard his wife was Latino so I figured he was attracted to her in that kind of way. But now its gettin really obvious! She is too young for his ugly old butt. She needs to stay clear of him, I know shes young, so she doesnt know any better. ewwwwwwwwwwww :nono_tb:

  • praepos

Regarding successful idols–Kellie Pickler made millions this year–one of the top earners. She’s touring with Taylor Swift. I’d call that successful–though she may not be a big star, it’s more than just being a working performer.

And let’s not forget Katherine McPhee. Her movie earned 50 million and she’s co-starring in another coming out next year. She’s also signed a deal with Nivea for a million. Her second album, produced by David Foster, comes out next year as well. These two may not be huge–but they are more than mere “working performers.”

And there’s no “possibly” about David Archuleta. He is amazingly big in Asia and his album is #4 now in the Philippines after the concert there with David Cook–ahead of Cook’s by about four spots. He was also something of a sensation in the UK after his tour there, especially with his singing of Angels. He’s earned 1.3 million so far this year–with the year not even half over and lots of events lined up.

And let’s not forget Clay Aiken. He may not be everybody’s cup of tea–but he has kept his career afloat for quite a while and made millions this year alone. He too is more than a working performer.

A final point. It took years for Hudson to catch on. She didn’t become big overnight. Some idols grow their fanbases slowly. And I wouldn’t count anybody out. Michael Sarver may well succeed in country music. You never know what doors will open for any one of the idols. I think Allison, for instance, has a great potential, though it may take years for her to realize it.

I don’t think it’s the theatre/performance background for Adam so much. Remember in theatre he was always in the chorus or an understudy. He once said he could not have done Idol before this season because he would have “crumbled.” I think it is his strong sense of self and belief in his vision and dreams that make him come across well. But, his father was a DJ for many years and his mother speaks well so it could just be something he also picked up growing up. Also, any reporter who has spoken to Adam have all said he has that “it factor” and that he just draws all eyes just standing there.

You would think that Danny would be better with all of his speaking duties in his church.

  • GeminiDolly

Danny and Allison seem real comfortable with each other. But, I hope they dont duet together as I much rather have her and Adam duet. it was funny when Allison teased him about doing Dream On as their duet song.

  • mar

I’m just happy to see Adam again.
I do get a little bit weary of the overly diplomatic answers!! Kris’s comment about the hurricanes and Anoop’s Duke comment were some of the few entertaining bits.

I know. It’s ridiculous…they are friends. That’s all. Besides, the girl’s mother has been with her the whole time.

  • adamisthemanfan

I am sooo glad that Adam defended Kara I’ve been saying all along how I think she gave good critiques and I think she brought something positive to the show and how she helped Adam…I’m glad he defended her, I agree with him…I know sometimes she said things that were a little out of whack but for the most part I liked her I think she is smart…thanks mj for putting up the vids I had missed this.

  • sonyab

Most likely to run for political office: I said Anoop way before they all did!!! HA! :)

    I thought that, too.

In USA Today, Kris said he was a man of few words. “I’m kind of laid-back and low-key, and every once in a while, I’ll stick my head out. That’s kind of how I did the competition, and it seemed to work out.”

So I think he talks when he has something to say.

Ryan: “Final thought, here. What do you think was the message of the season? Was there a theme when you sum up this season? Kris, I’ll give it to you.”

Kris: “I think seriously, we are all different. And we have gotten along, like, amazingly. And so I seriously think that’s the theme. And society is dealing with weird stuff like that right now, you know? And, you know, we need to pull together as a society.”

Ryan: “So this should be an example.”

    Kris: “Yeah.”

One more favor? I just today watched your conference call on Rickey.org that was done a few days ago after the finale. You mentioned that few seconds of cut away during the BEP performance which I caught, too, and I also figured they were censoring something. Jim said he was gonna check into it and I just wondered if you’d heard anything more about it. If you do, will you post it please? Very curious.

    Thanks again!!

I am wondering if you felt the same way about Kris during his performances or if it is just this interview. Anoop was impressive and I was kinda meh to Anoop before. Kris and Adam are my favorites so I am biased toward them, but I have also been following their other interviews, and they are just beat tired, especially Kris. I really loved Kris during his homecoming interviews. Kris is highly intelligent and tries to really give a thoughtful answer. Usually the better the question, the better that Kris can answer. The thing about Kris especially is that when he does talk beyond a simple one word type reply, he really has something worthwhile to say.

It is kind of hard for me to be critical of Kris because I have the same laid back personality as Kris, but I think Kris is more of group style leader than attention hog, so he is fine with sharing the limelight. I also don’t think that Kris has come to terms yet that he has won. He needs some sleep and time to adjust. I have a feeling that it would have been easier to talk for Kris, if Adam would have won. However, I think Kris is doing an amazing job of walking the tightrope between backlash and keeping different groups happy.

  • elephant1212

guys i dont know if this has been seen yet, but this is an interview before and right after adam auditioned in san francisco with FOX Fresno. Basically one of the anchors picked him out of the crowd and talked to him right before and right after he made it to hollywood… it is MADE OF WIN! it just reiterates the fact that he is really down to earth and charismatic and quite humble, but confident at the same time. Love how after the show the interviewer said that adam had “a prescence like a star” and “you felt cool being around him” LOL……

Is a damn wordy song. Yep, I agree they really seem to like Kara. People need to understand that this is her first time on t.v. speaking. She was lead singer in two bands and is a songwriter and producer. To date, she has had 39 albums in the Top 10 on Billboard’s 200 album chart. Her songs are on over 100 million records, she has become one of the world’s most successful songwriters. Anoop, Allison, Kris and Adam were great in this interview and Scott just kept rambling on and on..Michael did too, but I could still stand him talking.

Kris looked tired..poor guy. I remember David Cook was really beat last year too when season seven was on with Larry King..

  • KrisAllen1

I think Adam and Kris should of both took a nap right there.Sarver and Scott could of took there place since they were acting like the winner and runner-up.I think Adam and Kris both have alot to say and should do interviews together. I love watching them together its cute.

  • chicksineggz

On the brighter side, I love Adam/Kris/Matt/Allison/Anoop.

THIS. If I just get rid of Danny from the season, then I have my perfect top 5 (:

Love Kris’s comment at the end.

  • cookmerized

I remember watching this interview last year, too, and while David Cook seemed exhausted he also came across as the team leader and spokesperson. They all deferred to him for certain answers and he took charge without being prompted. Everyone looked to him to speak for them as a group. He was such a natural and I loved him for it. I just don’t get that same vibe from Kris and it bums me out even more that Adam didn’t take the crown.

Am I the only one who was hoping for the gang to vote Adam as homecoming queen?

  • GeminiDolly

I loved it also when they were replaying the end of Mad World and then we got Adam’s reaction to him hitting the bum note. He said something about singing the wrong key or something. But it was a cute.

  • KrisAllen1

I think Cook and Kris are two differant winners.I dont think Kris has really let himself believe he’s the winner. When everyone else accepts it I think he will.
Cookie has a differant attitude and approach than Kris does.I think Cook has a more loud personality.I think Kris wanted everyone else to get a chance to talk since he won already. He’s more laidback and humble. There were times when he tried to talk and Scott or Sarver talked over him.I didnt see anyone looking at Adam for answers either.

  • sleeptalker

I was so waiting for Megan to jump in about the judges not paying attention. Wish she could have talked more! I think she’s one of the most interesting personalities in the bunch.

Scott did get annoying after awhile…I don’t really see the annoyance from Sarver though. I feel like the show did most of the talking for him with his back story rather than letting us hear what he actually had to say.

One other thing that I find awesome is that throughout the Top 13, there was a big complaint about how the group had a lack of diversity, especially after Jasmine and Jorge left. I think we look at diversity by such a racial standard that we don’t realize how diverse the group really is. Funny that the “moral of the season” was about the group’s diversity!

  • Genevieve

Gosh I hope we don’t lose Adam to the other side of the pond! I guess with Ryan’s twitter and then Randy saying that he and Simon always say America never gets it wrong and the look on Adam’s face right after it… :sad_wp:

  • naomit

haven’t finished yet, but i submitted a question to adam asking if he would like to go into acting(so want him to get an oscar too).

but then Anoop got the acting question…hum…i like anoop…but why him?

  • twinkle

guys i dont know if this has been seen yet, but this is an interview before and right after adam auditioned in san francisco with FOX Fresno. Basically one of the anchors picked him out of the crowd and talked to him right before and right after he made it to hollywoodà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ it is MADE OF WIN! it just reiterates the fact that he is really down to earth and charismatic and quite humble, but confident at the same time. Love how after the show the interviewer said that adam had à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“a prescence like a starà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ and à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“you felt cool being around himà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ LOLà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

    1. Did a 3 year old cut Lil’s hair?

    2. Scott needs an off button.

    3. I am not sure 19 liked the contract question as they are quite secretive about that kind of stuff.

    4. I can’t believe there weren’t better questions than those. If Seacrest picked them, then he is a bigger yutz than I thought he was.

  • erinnthered

Unbelievably, I’m starting to think Scott may lack even more self awareness than Danny. Both of them, and Sarver, can get off my screen as soon as possible. Ugh.

Other than them, I really like this group. They seem pretty genuine. I can only hope that it’s real. I loved Kris’ theme.

Okay, I’m not a grasy knollish person, but what was up with Ryan interrupting Anoop to interject or ask stupid questions? Let the smart guy talk. I care more about his opinion than whether or not he’d date Kara.:rolleyes_tb:

You got it. Now if she can shift gears as a result of the difference of Adam, maybe she has hope.

I couldn’t agree with you more. David Cook is as humble as they come…but he still has presence and star quality…something that I think is expected out of an American Idol in the eighth season! It isn’t about being loud or commanding…it is about establishing your own voice. I don’t know…but I would suspect that even Kris fans really don’t know Kris very well. I hope he comes out of that shell a bit and gives a bit more of himself. He’s a very likeable guy…I just don’t know if this is the throne for him. He just seems the unwilling king…or queen if you will ;-)

Same here, cookmerized. Adam is definitely the spokesperson. Was it me or Kris’ accent that I could not understand him at times? I lived in the south for awhile but both he and Danny seemed to be mumbling rather than speaking.

Yes, also agreed that Scott tried to be the star, talked waaaay too much (about himself, of course) and Michael seemed to want the spotlight too.

  • http://thepopeye.blogspot.com BeckEye

I didn’t really like Giraud during the competition because he always seemed like kind of a sourpuss. He came off really likable in this interview though. I’m gonna guess that this is closer to his real personality. Maybe the stress just got to him, who knows.

Everyone actually seems pretty decent. Gokey wasn’t too much of a schmuck here, but he still had some annoying moments. Adam was his usual lovely self. I love his expression when Scott talks about falling asleep during piano. He’s probably thinking, “I could never fall asleep mid-shriek!” :)

  • steve

Why is danny telling a 17 year old he wants to hear her scream?
This guy is sick just a matter of time.Allison knew what he meant you could tell by her face.

  • goddessofpopculture

Scott comes across incredibly self-centered and boring in this interview. The bit about falling asleep while playing piano was really funny but only because of how absurdly wierd and most likely false it was.
Kris, Matt, Adam, Allison and Anoop were all great! I loved Matt’s Queen comment. cute!

  • anna in vegas

Scott and Michael are totally clueless and believe they will become super stars once the tour is over. Sigh..
    ===============================================
Well they could be. You never know. :)

    You ARE joking, right?

  • jpfan

I can’t imagine anyone more dull than Carrie when she won and she’s done fine. Even better than David Cook. So “lack of star quality” doesn’t always equal flop. To be honest, I found Adam pretty low key himself in these interviews.

I think most were tired and happy to let Scott and oil rig dude dominate the conversation. And I hate to keep defending the guy, but Allison was hugging Danny (not vice versa) and all I got were bro/sister vibes.

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

For you. I think she has been involved with some kick ass (and some sucky ass) songs.

And yes, I like Ryan Adams, too. Aren’t you the same dude who claimed Daugtry would fail b/c he was generic and that Hicks would sell tons?

And RIP Jay Bennett. Sad, even if he was an ass.

Ryan Seacrest just twittered the following:

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“adam lambert told me on cnn tonight that the band queen asked him to do some shows with him asapà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦coolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Is it just my imagination or is Ryan a total Adam fangirl??????

Adam and Queen is just beyond belief to me. I grew up listening to Queen and just love them. I would so be at a Queen, Adam concert. I sure hope it happens.

  • naomit

I could swear right after kris looked at scott because of his nonstop talking, adam almost fall asleep and snap right out of it.

poor adam, i do believe kris is sleepy too, but he is always quite and low key, it wont make much more difference.

  • AZIdolFan

kris seems to be the kinda guys that doesn’t say much unless you directly ask him. i know lots of people like that. and adam is the kinda guys who has no problem being the center of attention.

  • IdolThoughts

I think it’s good that Adam is being low key. If he wasn’t, I’m sure everyone would blame Kris’ quiet nature on Adam trying to steal the spotlight. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. I think he is being respectful of him…just as Kris is very respectful of Adam. I just hope Kris emerges and grows into this role. For his sake too…he just seems very uneasy. I guess that is expected as a month ago we (the majority of us) would not have forseen this outcome!!! And Kris was undoubtedly amongst that majority!!!

is it possible Adam can call in “sick” for a few days on tour and hop on a plane around the world and do a few gigs with Queen?

“is it possible Adam can call in à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“sickà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ for a few days on tour and hop on a plane around the world and do a few gigs with Queen?”

I don’t think so, they even had Megan singing with her “influenza”. The question is, could he break the contract or will he just start up with them when he finishes the AI tour.

  • avakaran

Scott ate up too much airtime for my taste, but I can’t help but think that it is at least partly due to his visual impairment. I think he’s missing a lot of subtle but important cues: eyes glazing over, rolling, lips tightening that would clue him in to zip it.

  • lola

Ok…we get it. Kris is tired, has a laid back personality, his winning hasn’t sunk in that’s why he isn’ talking too much. He needs a rest. So does Adam. But you can really tell who stand out out every time he opens his mouth or just sit there….. the runner-up.

Anyway, it seems to me that Gokey and Allison hasn’t been signed in yet because they said they are still in a limbo waiting for Kris and Adam to release their CD first.

Overall, good interview but not balanced.

  • haininh

Is my computer acting weird or there is no sound when Anoop answers Ryan’s question in the beginning of part 2?

  • annabelina

*pout* Allison didn’t get to talk much. Whenever she did I was like, “Omg I love this girl!”

    Highlights:

    - Adam: “I love shtuff!”
    - Allison’s annoyed “Oh my god …” when Randy says he and Simon gave Bikini Girl a standing ovation. (Love her! … Allison, not Katrina. Ick.)
    - Kris and Adam nudging each other as Randy goes on and on and on
    - Adam’s “Really?” face when Scott was talking about his banter between the judges, although it could have been that he was struggling to stay awake … same difference. Haha.
-The song clearing people chasing Matt and Danny around. The mental image of that is just too funny.
    - Allison: “No beef.” *drinks sulkingly from coffee cup*
    - Ryan: “[The Top 10 look] like a cast of a scripted show. *cue ironic beat*
    - Allison to Danny. “You wanna do ‘Dream On’?” Omg. I LMAO-ed so hard. Allison: 1; Danny: 0
    - Adam: “No, we’re doing [the tour] for free”. Adam: 1; Seacrest: 0

Kris: “[No Boundaries] stays up in your upper register for a long time, and it’s hard to breathe.”

That song was SO written for Gokey. :mad_wp:

I hope Kris and Adam got some sleep this weekend! They looked so tired.

I just donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know if this is the throne for him. He just seems the unwilling king …

Maybe, but it is his crown, and willing or unwilling, he will wear it.

Adam said his album would be Rock/Pop with an electric edge so could I dare hope that he might release Pop Goes The Camera, The Circle and I Got This on his coming album? They certainly deserve an album release.

Also, didn’t Sony already confirm that it’s offering contracts to Kris , Adam, Allison and Gokey or am I getting this wrong somewhere?

Again thank you mj for the upload.

I think that it will all depend on 19M/19E. If the affected shows are sold out anyway, 19E may not care so much since it won’t affect the tour’s bottom line. If Adam signs on with 19R and 19M for his post-AI career, then management may decide that the credibility that both Adam and AI gain by his performing a few times with Queen will be worth a few unhappy AI summer tour fans. I imagine that this credibility will help them sell Adam to radio and negotiate other promotional appearances to support his album. It will be a business decision I’m sure, and it will come down to a cost-benefit analysis. Adam performing with Queen would give not only Adam but also AI tremendous press – it may be tough for 19 to turn down, especially if it’s managing Adam it will benefit in multiple ways. It sounds like Adam has/is almost signed to 19R for his album. Do we have any hints on whether he’s continuing with 19M after the summer tour?

I’m not sure, but check and see if you have a flash player. If not download it. Also try playing using a firefox browser, as it is very good at telling you what codec your computer might be missing, and directing you to the download.

I am thinking that as a Kris fan who has tried to watch all his interviews and has read a lot of comments about what friends have said about him, I see Kris as the quiet leader type, but someone with the raw talent and depth of personality to grow into his role. He was the quiet storm throughout the season. Kris is an interesting person in his own right and has made interesting choices with his life outside of music as well.

There are different types of leaders. In real life, I am a peon in local goverment who works with homeless and social service providers, so my idea of a star is not limited to shiny and bright. My role models in my career are more of the unsung hero type. I honestly chose Kris over Adam for musical preferences, but Kris in choosing to do missionary work in eight different countries does remind me of people that I admire in real life. I see Kris as a star in the rough right now, but Kris has star potential.

I am also really proud of Adam as my second favorite, I see Adam as the big brother and Kris as the little brother, so it makes sense for Adam to still be the big brother role to me. I love hearing the two of them talk about each other. I see them more as a unit at this point.

As for Cook, nothing against Cook, but why does Kris or anyone else have to be Cook II? I am proud of Kris so far.

    THIS. ITA.

I thought Carrie was the blandest of the bland during her season, and I never really liked her. To be honest, sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s still a little dull in her interviews now, but ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a marked improvement compared to how she was before, immediately after her victory. Not all winners or runners-up can have the same outgoing, media savvy personality that David Cook and Adam Lambert have.

As for the Queen invitation, a few shows here and there would be ok, but I hope Adam doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t make it a regular gig. The offer is flattering, but I think Adam can make it on his own. Besides, I have a feeling that the type of music Adam wants to make isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t necessarily the same type of music that Queen produces.

I would lose a lot of respect for Adam if he did this. It would show a total disrespect for the fans who supported him and voted for him during his Idol journey. For me, personally, I would not want to attend the tour if he wasn’t part of it (although I do like Allison and Kris). Additionally, I already paid good money for my Idol ticket plus a ticket to Pittsburgh. Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre aren’t worth $60. I want to see Adam!

  • rbidol

All things considered, Kris has done extremely well in his interviews since winning. His natural charisma, which was an important ingredient in his win, is in full display, especially in the Leno interview, and parts of the Larry King interview (which is inherently awkward, since there are 10 people being interviewed at once).

Frankly, the idea that Kris isn’t showing enough star power in interviews is just silly to me. There are many, many huge stars who are far worse interviews than Kris. I can think of many extremely famous rock stars who can hardly form a coherent sentence, never mind charm people through witty anecdotes and clever one-liners (which is the skill set needed for a great interviewee). If Kris were downright terrible in these interviews, that does not mean he can’t be a huge star. As it is, on a whole, he has been exceedingly charming, which only adds to his chances of succeeding post-Idol.

At the end of the day, Kris won mostly because of his music. More people preferred his music on the show to any other contestant’s. I have no doubt that he will continue to succeed because he will continue to make music people will want to hear. His natural charisma…the fact that people are drawn to him and like him even when he is not trying to be the center of attention…will certainly contribute greatly to his success.

I just think that both Kris and Adam look and are acting exhausted. And yes, Kris is normally a soft spoken type and laid back as it is. But I thought he did fine in this interview. I think he, Adam, Alllison, Matt and Anoop all did well at various times. Scott on the other hand?Oy vey. He was probably putting our already sleepy Kradam into an even deeper trance with his rambling, cluelessly egotistical answers. I commend Kris for being able to stay awake enough after that to give that lovely closing statement of his.

Other highlights for me were Kris and Adam both dissing that horrid song in cute, if different ways, and Adam referenced the “Sound of Music,” which you know everyone was thinking of. Both did very well here I thought. And loved their little bit later kind of poking each other with their elbows. Awww Kradam.

Allison teasing Gokey about their dueting to Scream, er Dream on. And her cute bit doing a fake pout into her coffee cup talking about losing a song to Gokey. Matt’s bit about how Queen also asked him to join and he’s considering it. Anoop’s quip about how he wouldn’t date Kara, “because he heard she went to Duke.” That made me chuckle. Well done Anoop. Danny didn’t talk much, and that’s always a plus for me. I mean for his own sake, that’s probably just as well. They guy is really good at sticking his foot in his mouth.

So yeah, nice, if bland, interview overall and I didn’t think anyone, but Scott came off poorly in this one. Yes, Michael did drone on a bit, especially because I so dislike him after the video and reading other comments he said, but he was only responding to direct questions from Ryan. Not going on and on and inserting himself into the subject of every question, like Scott did.

Lastly, did I hear correctly that Allison and Danny have to wait for their record deals until Kris and Adam’s situation is sortted out? Or did I just get that all wrong?

  • GlamGirlLee

Kara as a song writer maybe great or good or at least decent. As a judge, not so much. Her flashing her bikinis was pretty cheap IMO. It came across as egotistical and petty. Yeah, nice abs, but I expected her to be above petty revenge.

I don’t think Adam will skip out on tour. He is just not that unprofessional. I will drop off Adam bandwagon if he does that, but I highly doubt he will, and AI won’t let him. As madly in love with Adam as I am, I am still not sure if I want to go to the Idol concert. Way too many fillers. I don’t want to have to watch/hear or breathe the same air as Scott and Michael. I am thinking I will save my money to get front row tickets for Adam-only concert.

Kris is just really laid back. I like that very much about him. I think he was letting everyone have their moment because he is secure in who he is. I thought it was gracious not lacking in leadership. He did make the very sensible comment about their diversity and still being a cohesive group. Of course you have some parts of the cohesive group that is peeling off and don’t really belong there, but I won’t name names, at least not again. :tongue_rolleye_ee:

Are there actually people here accusing Gokey of trying to hook up with Iraheta? Good lord…

Anywho, good interview, but not really balanced, althuogh it looked like Seacrest tried. Anoop, Matt, Danny, and Allison all seem to have a really comfortable vibe with each other. Kris and Adam seem to have a really solid bond as well.

This in no way puts Adam and Katharine McPhee on the same page (ugh, there is a gurgle of spew in my mouth just typing her name near his) but didn’t Nanny McPhee miss a good portion of the AI Summer Tour? I believe she claimed to have hurt something but then at the time it came out that she was actually performing elsewhere or doing something other than being on the Tour as she should have been?

I did not buy tickets for this summer tour. I don’t know how people are going to sit through Scott and Sarver. THAT, Mr. Dick Cheney, is the definition of torture.

Guess time will tell on this subject. I wish Kris the very best but I am not personally confident of his longevity.

  • Justin8602

At the end of the day, Kris won mostly because of his music. More people preferred his music on the show to any other contestantà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s. I have no doubt that he will continue to succeed because he will continue to make music people will want to hear. His natural charismaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦the fact that people are drawn to him and like him even when he is not trying to be the center of attentionà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦will certainly contribute greatly to his success.

I can’t completely agree with this, he’s cute and has a decent voice, but to say that more people preferred his music is a stretch…I don’t want to take anything away from him, but power texting and the “anybody but Adam” vote (from gokey supporters) got him the title. I was and always will be a die hard adam supporter…but aside from that bias, I don’t honestly believe realistically that Kris had the “majority” of individual viewers voting for him. The fact that Adam was a twitter trend days later is proof enough for me of that. I wish Kris all the best, but I think that Adam will be an artist of Kelly and Carrie proportions, whereas Kris will only be marginally popular. I would love nothing more than to be proved wrong on this, but this topic will be debatable at least until the albums come out. For me Kris is the Confederate Idol but Adam is the American Idol. And yes i know that not all southerners voted for kris…but let’s face it, if Kris and Adam were both from Cali, I don’t think we’ would have seen the same result.

  • matkojapan

I hadn’t heard about the Kat Mcphee scandal, but as far as I know, Adam is under contract to perform on ALL the shows on the tour.

Of course ,if he is physically unable to do so, that is a different story.

Did Mcphee get sued for breach of contract? or did E19 know about it in advance?

  • BlankSlate

A McPhee scandal was never proven but people, of course, were talking…(NOW I remember that she turned up on a talk show as a co-host when she was allegedly ill and unable to perform on the tour.)

A quick Google search from that summer turned up this article. Posting it now before I forget in the morning.

The tour doesn’t start until July so Adam could possibly squeeze in a few shows during the month of June if his contract allows it. I was very happy to hear that they just want him to appear as a guest and not as a permanent frontman.

I don’t mind Kris’ silences during these group interviews. He’s obviously mindful of being a camera hog. Besides, when he does speak, it means more. He did a great job on Leno the other night. He was funny and really adorable. I think he’ll be fine.

I’m still mourning Adam’s loss but Kris being Kris has really helped – not to mention seeing the two of them together. I really love their friendship. If Adam had to lose, it couldn’t have been to a nicer guy.

  • rbidol

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t completely agree with this, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute and has a decent voice, but to say that more people preferred his music is a stretch….I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t honestly believe realistically that Kris had the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“majorityà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ of individual viewers voting for him.

I don’t think it is a stretch at all. What I do think is a stretch is that more people were voting for Adam, but Kris had the rabid texting fans. This seems to be the new argument against Kris, but there is just no evidence for it. Adam’s fans…as we see every day online, are even more rabid than Kris’s fans…and they were voting like crazy last week. Kris simply won over more casual American Idol viewers in the end.

If you look at the huge success Heartless had on youtube, and has continued to have on the charts, I think you see a song that people (especially young people) found extremely hip and current. Couple that with Ain’t No Sunshine…a great example of the way Kris made old songs sound like they belong on Top-40 radio right now, and I think Kris, in the last couple weeks, made a very strong case for his relevance on the charts today. I absolutely believe people preferred his music and that’s why he won. Insofar as he continues to make music like the music he made on the show, I think his interview skills will be of much less importance (though, I say again, his natural charisma comes out in the interviews, which only helps him).

  • tunmel2

Anyone else notice that starting at 14:30 of Part 3, right after Ryan asks for the most stylish contestant, Adam denies painting his nails in a “You complete me” pattern with Kris? Is this because they aren’t allowed to form alliances like on Survivor?

  • jammasta

For those saying Kris is a terrible person at interviews, I have one word for you:

    Paula.

  • Thea

In the last two days, Scott really managed to turn me off completely. I used to think he was a boring singer but an ok personality- I take that back.

Anoop, Allison and Matt are fun. Allison is not always super-articulate, but always entertaining.

Adam manages to be witty even when half asleep. Nicely done.

The Adam + Queen thing: I think some people are getting worked up about the AI tour… but that ends in August (or beginning of September, don’t remember)! In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a long time. Adam could go join Queen for some shows after that!
If they need him earlier, then it would be his and, most of all, 19′s decision.

  • matkojapan

    Thanks for that Blankslate!

    totally missed that controversy.

hmmmm….I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt I guess

They have tour rehearsals, though. I doubt Adam could squeeze in anything before the tour starts. And during the tour, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d much rather see him take the free time to work on his album, rather than doing gigs with other artists. These idols need to strike while they are still in the publicà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s consciousness.

  • laz

Anyone else notice how Adam was totally not looking at Michael Sarver whenever the latter was talking? Even with Scott, who was also behind him, he gave a sort of glance and half-turn, but the most I saw him react to Sarver was a nod or two toward the end.

  • Grammie Kari

The interviews went over pretty well. I am along the same lines of thought that Adam/Kris/Allison/Anoop/Matt did a nice job and are quite likeable. I really didn’t need to hear one comment from Randy explaining what the judges do. We know, Randy – we know.

    but then Anoop got the acting questionà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦humà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦i like anoopà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦but why him?

It was a result of the comedy skit Anoop did on MTV Best of the Week (I believe that’s the title). He was hilarious interacting with Paul. I have watched it many times and I still laugh when the Fruit Loops are being poured down Anoop’s throat. I immediately thought he’d do a good job with a Saturday Night Live skit.

Loved Anoop’s response to being Most Likely to Go Into Politics. He would like that. Oh, and selected Most Intelligent. Glad to see Ryan give some respect towards him!

Adam doing anything with Queen is going to require reams of contracts between the record companies, promotions, management, and everything else under the sun. I doubt they could get it together in three months even if that was the goal. And then rehearsals and logistics?

He will do the tour and he will release an album to get going on his solo career first, I am certain.
The earliest I would expect any sort of live performance of Queen featuring Adam Lambert is 2010.

  • Tess

A guest appearance of a singer on someone else’s tour is no big deal. It happens quite regularly…I am sure there is a nice little equity conctract out there that covers this along with any “professional” videos or recordings of the concert. I’m sure that Adam and Queen would be nothing more than: “Our special guest for the night is Adam Lambert”.

  • Danica_K

I have to admit I kinda giggled when Anoop got the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“most intelligentà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ title. I immediately pictured Marshall Scholar Scott clutching his heart with that answer.

I have to admit to the same reaction. Scott actually looked a little pissed. Ha!

Michael Sarver bugs the living daylights out of me, with his insincere smile and down-home act. He is an ass. I’m starting to dislike Danny less, because his gaffes at least seem like natural incompetence, and dislike Sarver even more, because he’s trying way tooooo hard to ‘fit in’ or whatever and it’s all very calculated.

Scott is deluded. He may be a great musician, but his singing is just not good. If he weren’t blind he never would have cracked the top 13, much less made the cut at auditions.

I liked Anoop addressing the frat boy issue. That always bugged me, that he was labeled across the internet as a frat boy when he clearly is not.

Kris, Adam, Allison, Anoop, Matt, Megan, and even Danny and Lil all seem to get along really well, with Scott and Sarver sort of left out. After watching these LKL shows it isn’t hard to see why.

Guys, relax.. it’s only been a week

  • Adamdebomb

Adam was in Wicked for a year and a half. Obviously he is no flake, and he would never fail to honor his obligations. Before Wicked he did a number of other productions for long amounts of time. He is used to hard work, obviously, and in show biz it is important to build a reputation of being an honorable, dependable dude. The producers know that Adam has a huge fan base, and there would be huge anger if he didn’t sing at one show or another. I know many would disagree-but I think Adam IS the show.

OT: But last night I watched the group 2 semifinals, and I’m surprised Kris even made it to the top 13. Adam wasn’t all that great either, nor Matt for that matter. Allison was the clear star that night. I thought Mishawhatshername was second best.

  • savgal

Just my $.02, but I think it would not be a good move for Adam to blow off the AI tour to perform with Queen this summer. On days off from the tour, it wouldn’t matter, and would probably even get more publicity for the tour. After season four, I was fortunate to see Bo Bice on the tour as runner-up, and he had the more exciting set, playing electric guitar, and doing Jimi Hendrix and Lynyrd Skynyrd (sp?) songs. He brought out Carrie, and the energy went down, but they had a beautiful duet of “God Bless the Broken Road”. Then she did her set. A lot of people were grumbling that Bo should have won, that year. When Bo became ill later on in the summer and did not appear on tour, people were VERY upset, and many ticketholders wanted their money back. Season five, Kat McPhee was ill when the tour came to our area, and honestly, no one seemed to miss her that much, as the others’ sets were maybe a little longer, and then Chris D., Elliot, Ace, and Bucky sang an awesome “Patience” by Gun and Roses with just guitars and their great harmonies in tribute to Kat.
IMO, Kris is already a more dynamic performer than Carrie was at that stage, and I cannot wait for the kris-Adam duet that will hopefully bridge their two sets on the tour.

  • SparklesATL

Unless things have changed, they are all under contract to 19 music and management until 19 cuts them loose after the tour.

As Buderschnookie said, there would have to be some serious contract negotiations between management for both parties. The only way Adam could get around it is if he performed for free and it wasn’t advertised. He would not be able to “call in sick.” Can you imagine if the show was coming to your town and Adam was a no show because he was sick and you found out later that he appeared somewhere else with Queen?

  • Kirsten

The tour doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t start until July so Adam could possibly squeeze in a few shows during the month of June if his contract allows it.

Is Queen even touring right now? I thought they just lost their lead singer. I would imagine it takes Queen a little while to arrange a tour if they do not currently have one planned. I can’t see them having full concerts in June unless they already have them planned.

June is a pretty busy month for the winner and runner-up. They will finish with their post Idol promo, sign a contract, meet with record execs, start working on their album and start practicing for the tour.

  • jpfan

Yeah, last I looked 19 was in the business to make money, I guess Adam could do a few gigs before the tour. But he belongs to Idol and the tour is priority #1. Fans would be a tad angry if he blew off an Idol show to do something with Queen. Plus he’ll also be recording his album, so I don’t see any downtime for him unless he wants his album postponed until 2010. Which is a really bad idea.

  • SparklesATL

Is Queen even touring right now?

They are touring in Australia through the summer and then England and Germany in the late summer.

  • jpfan

I highly doubt Adam will be traveling to Australia to do any Queen gigs and even England and Germany are out of the question during his off days from the Idol tour. Unless, he does no work on his album which would be ridiculous.

To be honest, I don’t quite see how touring with Queen does much for his career unless he plans to be bring back that style of rock. I guess the buzz would be a plus but I don’t see how it helps him sell albums if he doesn’t go in a rock direction. And doing that won’t get him much play on Top 40 radio where current rock is a hard sell.

  • KrisAllen1

Adam doesnt click with me.He wants to do a pop/Dance album but goes on tour with Queen? That wouldnt make sense.Artist should stick with one genre.
It doesnt work out if one is all over the place.Look at Taylor Hicks for example.

  • clearone

Yes the international buzz would be a huge plus. It sure seemed to be what Simon was focused on.

Even if he could negotiate a week off to go to England, since he is probably the big draw this summer, there would be some negative repercussions. I hope there is a way to figure it out for him. It’s too darn bad that stupid tour goes into September.

  • KrisAllen1

I think it would also be disrespectful.I wont go on the tour to see Sarvet,Scott,Lil,Anoop,Danny or Megan.I just want to see Kris and
adam.Millions of people voted for Adam.Half of them are only going
on tour to see him.So instead of meeting fans and going on the AI
tour he’s going to tour with Queen and then make a COMPETELY
differant music than there sound? I dont know how to feel about this.

  • matkojapan

Adam will be a darker version of Depeche Mode.

He will usher in a new music style in my opinion.

    Call it New Wave Rock

EMO is on it’s way out and Adam could actually usher in a new scene.

I am not a huge fan of his but I think he has captured peoples imaginations and I look forward to hearing what he has to say (sing)

hmmmmmm…Frankie goes to Hollywood meets Led Zeppelin? Never heard anything like that before!

    could be interesting

  • Adamdebomb

I think Anoop will end up doing some sort of hosting/acting type work. He has a great speaking voice, manner, quick wit etc. Adam would be equally good, but more limited by the roles he would be able to take.

  • KrisAllen1

I would pay good money to see Anoop in a movies or acting.

Adam isnt god people. He cant create a new genre lol.I would call Adam a “Rock God” but he wants to be a pop/dance/techno/rock/funk type of
god and it wont work out.Since he has a active mind and does alot
of crazy stunts in his perfomances only his tour with sell well.

  • bean99

I just watched it and wasn’t as bad as I expected from the comments but agree Scott needed to shut up when not asked questions. I’m liking him less and less all the time. Michael pretty much answered when asked but not nearly as bad as he was in the Access Hollywood videos. He really bugged then. I’d give up either of them to get Alexis back.

I loved that there was plenty of Anoop time. Ryan did go to him quite a bit. The Kara question was dumb but loved his answer about her being from Duke, lol. I’m also glad that he could explain his annoyance to her frat boy comment.

I thought most of them came across very well. Loved the awards as usual. Matt gets the title of class clown/biggest flirt from Michael Johns last season. I guess that goes hand in hand.

  • clearone

    JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever’s gonna happen with Adam and Queen will take place over a couple of months, if ever. Tour will be over in summer, and he can do whatever he wants, its not impossible, time frames will be arranged. And whatever genre of music he fits in with his new album will be listed along the album cover in Itunes or wherever when he releases the album, and we will know then and there!

    Fuck!!

Why canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t he? New genres have to start somewhere with someone who has new inventive ideas. Who is to say he canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t do it?

This is no diss to Adam but I don’t really see anything much inventive about him.. Having an amazing talent is not inventive–it’s luck. Yes, he could be considered inventive in the AI bubble, but in the real world?

    ETA:

Tour will be over in summer, and he can do whatever he wants

Nope, after the tour he will still be 19E’s whore. He will be recording his album, touring in support of his album, and making appearances in support of his album. He will be getting up at 4 a.m. to call radio stations on the other side of the country to answer the same questions he answered at 4 a.m. the day before. This, of course, unless they decide not to sign him. What are the chances of that?

  • Kath77

The only nugget I got out of the LKL interview is that Adam, even when he’s the runner up and half-asleep, is still the focus. Dude just stands out whenever and where ever he is. He’s a STAH.

  • KrisAllen1

I love how Adam fans think Adam will somehow create a new genre. Is he also

  • virgo03v

I love Adam’s personality and sarcastic sense of humor. He’s such a cutie, which is why I wasn’t surprised everyone called him the most stylish. lol

I figured Adam would want to do a Pop Rock album. Thats what I’ve been saying all this time. Its a good avenue for him to go down. If he can tour with Queen, that will give him a jump on the international scene. Its funny how excited I am about someone I never met before. lol

As long as Adam makes albums and sells out tours who cares about the genres. He wants to do Pop Rock. Thats a genre….. LOL Adam haters really can’t come up with anything new to say huh?? These comments are not representative of Kris. Its sad.

Of course it helps Adam’s career. It gives him a jump star on international stardom. Queen will give Adam street cred. This whole “people can only do one thing” is getting out of hand. Little Wayne is about to record a rock album and do collaborations. This isn’t going to hurt his career, its going to expand it into a new market. LOL

I’m beginning to think people are scared Adam MIGHT cross over and appeal to international audiences as well as national ones. Thats why they are against him making guest appearances with Queen. There’s no way its a negative. Its a win/win situation. Slash wants to work with Adam too. Good!! Bring them all in!!

It all depends.Making apperances with Queen than doing a Pop/Dance album?
I think everyone knows that he’s going to do to dance/pop.19E will get him into it.It would be like Kris making apperances with Keith Urban and doing a Pop/Rock album.

Kris’s songs are not doing better than Adam’s on youtube if you are using that as a basis of who is more “hip” and “current”. Unless you are saying people would buy Kris’s version more than Kanye’s, and I don’t buy that at all……

As far as the charts, well… LOL Lets just wait until their official albums come out later on this year. All of this is pointless until then. I want to see the overall sales for these songs. I’d bet anything Heartless did not beat Adam’s Mad World.

In the last two days, Scott really managed to turn me off completely.

Completely agree. Wow. Sour grapes, and he’s not all that. I have such incredible respect for the other 9. They seem to really be decent supportive friends with Scott, even though he is so royally annoying.

Re: Kris–he’s great. I’m glad he won. Can’t wait for his CD. I hope he and his label embrace the success he is having with Heartless to give us something interesting with compelling acoustic rhythms.

I thought Kris’s interview on Leno was good; looking forward to Ellen and Regis and Today Show, etc. He’s articulate and has a nice sense of humor. I think Adam is an extroverted personality and Kris is an introverted personality–and neither are extreme about it. One’s a little quicker to talk than the other one–that’s all. It’s probably one of the many reasons why they get along so well.

Adam is an amazing singer and a dynamic performer. Looking forward to the album he produces and his performances on tour. Of course, he’ll never join Queen–it’s an aging band and he’s a young performer. But the comparison with Freddie Mercury is logical and real flattering to Adam. Amazing vocalists both.

    stop lecturing

  • Ward Hunt

I saw AI in concert twice during Season 4. Once with Bo Bice and once without. The energy without him was completely different. Lots of folks didn’t even show up at the concert that he was NOT present at. And the concert he was present at, a lot left after his performances.

I saw Season 5 concert without Kat and with Kat. Loved it MUCH BETTER without Kat.

It seems like the 1st and 2nd finishers should get paid more because they sing more songs that means they need to rehearse more as well.

I am so glad Ryan Seacrest filled in for LK. LK was so bad last year when he interviewed the Season 7 kids I almost chose not to watch this year. It was quite awkward and traumatic, with dull, irrelevant questions and LK’s obvious unfamiliarity with the show. With Ryan, nobody had to worry about whether he was going to pronounce the kids’ names right or give too much airtime to someone who wouldn’t articulate well.

To those who are comparing Kris with David Cook—I think that was one reason why David took charge last year. LK was clueless so someone had to take charge and prevent the show from completely falling apart. With Ryan hosting the show this year, everyone was comfortable just sitting back and go with the flow.

Katharine McPhee missed 3 weeks of the tour because she was sick, she did too many things in the month of June with Andrea Bocelli and on a bunch of Christmas and specials for kids and hurt her vocal cords. She wasn’t out doing other things while she was supposed to be touring. That is the biggest rumor ever and one Katharine had to deal with because of haters who had zero reason to hate her. It just gave them an excuse.

Anyway on to Adam, I don’t think he will miss any of this tour to go with Queen, but I hope like McPhee that he doesn’t do to much in June and jeopardize his vocals. I am going to this show and without Adam it would be a pile of suckage. With a few exceptions. :)

  • piperlily

Don’t know if it was mentioned already, but in part 3 somewhere around 13:00 and 14:00… when Scott was saying he falls asleep sometimes while playing a song and daydreams and then wakes up and says, did I already do that song?
    Look at Adam’s face he makes — SO FUNNY!!! :blink_tb: :lol_tb: :lol_tb:

  • Violator

Adam will be a darker version of Depeche Mode.

Now you’ve gone and made me swoon.

  • Suzanne

Regarding Katharine McPhee–she was out of the tour for about three weeks or maybe more–a huge part of it–with a vocal-related illness (strep throat which worsened?). The controversy came when, toward the end of her “sick leave” from the tour she made a public appearance. She didn’t sing, and I don’t think she even talked at the appearance. She just had her picture taken a lot–you may remember that she was also kind of modelling back then. On covers, etc. And people who’d bought tickets to the tour really got bent out of shape because she probably made a few dollars with her silent appearance instead of singing Over the Rainbow for them.

Kind of got all blown up.

Does anybody have any titbits about Megan and Adam?…They seemed real close in the early stages before she left(She,Kris and Adam)…now it just seems to me, from watching their body language and a few comments here and there, that they dont really get along anymore…

    Any goss? :jittery_tb:

  • luckeee55

I thought the interview was OK.
I don’t want to defend Scott but I think, as others have said, that he is socially awkward due to his vision impairment. Furthermore, I think he has always been buoyed up and praised by those around him, so may have a skewed idea of his talent.
Sarver didn’t bother me, but I sure picked up on Kris and Adam’s “coldness” to him.
Allison and Danny seemed brother/sister to me. I did not pick up any hint of discomfort on Allison’s part, rather it seemed she was the one who initiated all the physical contact with him.
Kris was exhausted, and I think Adam was quite tired also. I remember both Davids were quite exhausted last year and while Cook is an eloquent speaker, both were subdued to a point.
Adam and Queen, while flattering I just don’t see it happening. It will not help Adam to move forward from the AI world and into his own sound and music. Covering Queen songs tells us nothing about him as a contemporary artist.

  • Niall

I love how Adam fans think Adam will somehow create a new genre. Is he also going to create a new world?

LOL. Love my Adam but yeah, that hubris and hyperbole is the reason I don’t join fansites. I recall last year DC was supposed to change music and “all” fans got was a decent album and lots of tour dates, which is to say they got pretty much what reasonable people expected to get. I like the person who suggested “a darker Depeche Mode.” That plus a gold album and maybe a few guest appearances at Queen concerts would make me very, very happy. Anything beyond that will be gravy.

  • http://kristentheyellowlab.blogspot.com/ Zsus

    Is he also
going to create a new world?

Why yes. Yes he is. A whole new world. A dazzling place I never knew. (Or something like that.)

I have to say that watching this season’s LKL post-Idol show was quite a different experience from last season. These kids can repeat the party mantra, “We all get along!” as many times as they want, but I don’t see a whole lotta warmth between them. Last year, they were constantly ribbing one another, touching one another, exchanging smiles, glances, and private jokes. This season, the body language on LKL spoke volumes. Poor Megan was practically sitting in another country, while Kris and Adam clenched their jaws and looked into their coffee cups evertime Sarver spoke. Whenever Scott would start rambling, Kris, Adam, and Matt sort of huddled together, opening their eyes a little wider to avoid rolling them at one another. And it looks like Allison has to play the role of peacemaker between Gokey and her two “brothers,” Kris and Adam. The look on her face when Gokey was yammering on about doing a duet with her was the kind of look the kind-hearted cheerleader who has been nice to the class geek all year gives him when he comes up to her locker and says, “Maybe you can go to the prom with me!” The tour gossip should be interesing.

  • Truthiness

I really don’t see how doing a few guest spots with Queen, in a manner to be determined with 19M so that he also does the tour, hurts Adam. Yes, he’s going to be a busy beaver, because he’s also going to start working on his album and doing some rehersals for AI, but this is going to take place over months.

And let’s be honest here, the rehersal for the AI stuff? How hard can this be? Not as if the choreography is going to be that hard and not like he doesn’t know the songs. And after time in theatre, I’m sure he’ll be just fine picking up the material AI throws at him.

As for the Queen thing hurting his career? I don’t see how. If he was going to front for them and just sing their material? Sure. But a guest spot isn’t going to do anything other than add to his visibility and add to the rock facet of his career. But that doesn’t have to take away from the other facets he may have with his solo work, which will be more pop/electronica. Just like possibly doing a track with Slash, also won’t hurt his other stuff.

I don’t think that at this point whether we can say that Adam will make a mess of an album, or whether he can make an album with different styles on it. I know that bands I liked, like Massive Attack with Blue Lines and Protection, had different kinds of music on the same album and they were far from messes.

Watched the rerun of LKL before I fell asleep near the end so I came here and dang if my speakers quit on me. Sooo, I decided to watch the body language on the last segment.

Allison, Kris, Adam and Matt would all lean into each other, did you notice that? I enjoyed Matt and his humor, nice to see that come across.

I did not pick up on anything like Kris deferring to or mirroring Adam. He is naturally polite and willing to let others have their camera time. To me that denotes a generosity of spirit. I think they all were pretty respectful in giving each other room to answer and comment.

I did notice Scott trying to answer a number of times…his body and face frequently come forward as if to speak then realized that the question was directed to someone else. To give benefit of doubt, I wonder if any of that has to do with being visually impaired…is he unable to clearly read the body language of others?

Someone upthread made the comment about Danny and Allison’s suggested duet. Allison’s teasingly suggested “Dream On” and then Danny says something about a scream. The comment upthread suggested that Danny said that in an inappropriate way and that Allison “got it. ” I do not agree. I think he was trying to be funny and just making a retort that she could do the scream at the end and she made a goofy face, like ‘oh no, not me.’ Nothing more.

Adam just cracks me up with his ready wit. As soon as he said ‘ I climb mountains, cross every stream’ I nearly sang out “Follow every rainbow, till you find your dream!” OK, so my kid’s school did a production of Sound of Music this year. Kudos to Adam for that. He is going to be so much fun in interviews. He is intelligent, knows his music, and can deliver a line.
Would love to see him host SNL after the tour is over.

Anoop has a nice sly type of humor and I’m glad he got to speak out. Much was made of Sanjaya a few years back getting offers from India. I wonder if Anoop has also received offers… I could see him being on screen. If he goes the TV route he’d do a better job than Kim Caldwell and Justin Guarini (I can barely stomache those two- they are like the talkshow parodies on SNL).

  • Tony

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t completely agree with this, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute and has a decent voice, but to say that more people preferred his music is a stretchà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to take anything away from him, but power texting and the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“anybody but Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ vote (from gokey supporters) got him the title.

I think that it’s just hilarious that people believe this after the fact. Prior to the finale, most people thought that Adam had this thing in the bag and that Adam having to perform on top 2 night was just a formality. Right before Kris and Adam performed, the pool had Adam winning something like 66% (it ended at 56%). But NOW, people suggest that there was no way that Adam could have won.

Yep, that struck me as well………Tour might be hard on them, because there is definitely some tension in that group this year, I could tell from the body language…Quite a few of them dont get along

Interesting about Megan, she seemed a whole lot nicer and happier with the boys early on……..its odd seeing her not interacting as much now.

I hope some of the goss from tour filters down to us.That’s what will make it interesting

I don’t get the fan wars either, although I’ve seen it in the past between #1 & #2 fans.

Our boys this season have a remarkable friendship. They understand the kind of artist that each one is. They have deep respect for each other and each others talent. As different as they are, they sound great when they sing together. They both say they are competitive with themselves, not each other.

I make the above assumptions based on what each of them have said. More importantly, the way they act with each other tells me it’s true. I’ve noticed in interviews when they are both together their body language says a lot. They are comfortable standing close to each other, they nudge and punch each other like they are sharing a secret, One big thing is that they almost always have the same body position. Head tilting, smiling at the same time, looking at each other attentively when the other is speaking, crossed arms, arms down, leaning on desk (LKL) Paula got it right, it’s a serious Bromance!

Did you notice on LKL that there was a chemistry between the two of them that was not there with the others? Neither paid attention when anyone else was speaking unless it was each other, for the most part. I thought it was cute the way Kris couldn’t take his eyes off the monitor. Like a kid seeing himself on tv. Ha!

My point with all this rambling is that the fan wars are a shame and probably the last thing either of them would want. Just my opinion.

I’d describe all that’s going on in this blog as “vibrant discourse”, not fanwars………and it’s the same with every season, been happening from as far back as i can remember and its part of the fun…as long as people dont take it all too seriously (They dont, right???) The fact that Kris and Adam like each other doesnt mean we all automatically have to be in agreement all the time.,.come on…that would be boring

Why would you buy an album..à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ just becauseà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ?.Wont you wait and see whatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s in it before you buy it?

I buy lots of albums/music on faith. Just as a show of support by putting my money where my mouth is. Especially for an artist whose music I enjoyed for free for whatever reason (Cook last year, Adam this) I am happy to throw some money to them to help ensure success.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t understand the fan war debate going on here, btw. Adam and Kris are very talented and are both getting signed to a major label, which is great for them and us. Why fight? Why predict doom for either of them?

It’s just like life- some people can only feel big by making other people feel small.
Planting little seeds of doubt by expressing “concern” is fun for some people. It’s very nearly passive trolling. Not in this case necessarily, but if it makes a fan squirm it’s quacking like a duck IMO.

I recall last year DC was supposed to change music and à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“allà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ fans got was a decent album and lots of tour dates, which is to say they got pretty much what reasonable people expected to get.

To be fair, what appears on the first album is largely the record company’s decision. I didn’t much care for most of Cooks record but I hold on to hopes for the next when he is a bit more able to do what he wants instead of trading song choices for label support.

Ditto Adam’s first record- it will likely be pop with a little hint of dance and electronica, but radio friendly and with mainstream appeal. He will dress it up in live performances and do his OTT stuff there but I expect the recordings to be fairly benign this first go round.
If it’s successful he will get more and more leeway with each release until maybe in 3-4 years he will be given free reign to release something more akin to “Glamorize” than to “Pop Goes The Camera”.

    One would hope :wub_tb:

    edit: DON’T LECTURE.

Back on topic, I think most of the Top 10 came across pretty well here. Megan barely said a word and Sarver seems somewhat out of place but I do wonder if that’s because they spent less time with the others by dint of when they were voted off. It was hard to tell whether there really is anything uncomfortable between Adam & Michael from Adam’s body language because frankly, more than anything, he and Kris just looked like they wanted to put their heads down on the desk and fall asleep! They seemed to be constantly fighting to re-engage themelves with the conversation. Having said that, neither he or Kriss exactly appeared to be his biggest fans form the way they set their jaws so who knows. Scott, bless him, is slightly delusional about his own prospects post-Idol and does talk a bit much but he seems pretty harmless and nice enough. I’ve no doubt that they have split somewhat as a group from early on and some are closer than others (eg Adam & Kris, Danny Anoop & Matt) but that happens in any group of friends as they get to know each other more over time – closer bonds are formed between individuals within the group.

What I did find interesting is the change in group dynamic when Kris & Adam were added, compared to the Access Hollywood interview. I think, in their different ways, Kris & Adam are both quite big presences within that group. The others seemed a lot less raucous and giddy and a lot more grounded with them around.

EDIT: And Danny & Allison seem to get on just fine.

  • sidewalk

Kris and Adam were obviously both exhausted…the winner/runner-up schedule right after the finale is just brutal, they have them running all over the place. I remember it being the same way with Cook and Archie last year, the poor guys could barely stand up. But Kris and Adam still managed to be funny and charming, even though they were quieter than usual. LOL at Kris’ “No…they don’t talk to me anymore.” in response to Ryan asking if the contestants treated him differently now that they won. Similar funny moment when Adam was like “Actually we’re doing it for free.” to the tour pay question. Haha. You can tell they’re mildly fed up with stupid questions, but are still taking it with good humor and stride. Props to them.
And my gosh, does Scott EVER shut up?!

I’m not so sure about that. It is hard to tell, but Adam’s album is doing much better than Kris’ (2 vs. 8), so all those sales have to be factored in also. I don’t think you can tell just by looking at the single sales. We’ll know tomorrow right? Yikes…that thread will probably implode. LOL.

  • Tess

Posters are a funny lot. We read something someone has posted in jest and 4 posts later it is undeniable fact that cannot be disputed. And my favorite is we go to other blogs and bring back bloggers comments as proof that our opinions are undisputed and they have to be true because, damn, they are printed somewhere else on the web.

I guess that is why I am such a video nut. I’ll believe what I see or hear about the contestants based on what they do or say on THEIR videos. I feel pretty comfortable with where both Kris and Adam WANT to go with their careers based on what they have said in the past…and really, until I get to listen to their NEW singles and albums I wont know this for sure.

The LKL show part 2 was OK (God, I wish the judges would all drop dead) and I wanted so bad to hand Kris and Adam pillows. Scott does not have a clue and now I know that, as I believed, he has absolutely no common sense. Somehow, for an intelligent (OK book smart) person he has totally screwed up the concept of his AI contract (for the show and tour) with an after season recording contract. The way he talked I really think he thinks that he is signed and moving ahead.

I’m glad Lil is going to go home and re-evaluate her life…yup it costs a lot to live in LA and and she has a husband and kids to consider (though I don’t think I have ever heard her talk about her husband). Megan is either shy, socially uncomfortable, or “too good” for the idol machine. She reminds me so much of Ramiele Malubay with her distant attitude.

The duet talk between Danny and Allison was beyond bizarre. Besides the fact that I’m uncomfortable (my hang ups, not theirs) with them teaming together I don’t think their voices would mesh and it would be a complete bore for me to listen to…I’d love another view of Slow Ride, though.

On a scale of 1 to 10 the show was about a 4 and I really think you needed to be an AI fan to appreiciate it. Casual viewers who didn’t “know” the contestants wouldn’t have been real impressed.

I must confess to being a dork and watching this interview several times.

Looking at this interview and the Access Hollywood group interview from last week, it seems like for the most part they get along well enough with the exception of Scott and especially Sarver.

If I were to guess from what we saw on the show and what they’ve said after the show, it seems that Anoop, Matt, Adam, Kris, Allison and Danny are all pretty close.

Thinking back to Sarver’s exit package on Idol Extra, didn’t Adam say something about them being very different but that Sarver tried to have an open mind and learn about people, or something similar? However it was worded, I remember at the time it struck me as a very PC way of saying Sarver was not comfortable with Adam. it would not surprise me to find out this is true. Especially after that asswad video about Danny and Sarver loving each other in a “Godly way.” (Despite my dislike for Gokey, this seemed more Sarver’s doing.)

All that rambling to conclude with a giant “whatever.” We can analyze these interviews and dissect body language all we want. We’ll never really know unless tour goss hits the web.

  • brextra

I am sooo glad that Adam defended Kara Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve been saying all along how I think she gave good critiques and I think she brought something positive to the show and how she helped Adam

As much as I did not like the addition of the 4th judge, I truly wonder if Adam would have done as well as he did if he had not had Kara’s advice about what it means to sing like you mean it from the heart and not just to put on the emotions like he was doing for theater.

For that, I appreciate Kara very much.

Adam and Kris both seemed out of it. Almost disinterested in the entire interview. Kris on Leno was engaging…Adam the following day on Access was funny and sweet (both despite 2 hrs of sleep). Yet during this interview, they are both sitting lifeless, just staring into space.

Speaking of body language…did notice Adam did not react once while Sarver was speaking (never smiled, nodded in agreement, never turned around….me thinks that “godly” incident made its way known to the entire group).

Kris doing the ‘caw caw’ to megan was awesome.

Kris and Adam pretty much dissing No Boundaries…also awesome.

    Ryan’s lame questions…not awesome.

Too much time spent on clips.

I very much doubt that Adam will be missing from any of the tour dates because of other commitments (Queen related or otherwise). The whole Queen thing is very much up in the air, no one knows what has been said or if anything will come of it, but Adam is one of the huge draws for the tour and it will be in his contract to fulfil those commitments.

I also don’t think that Queen are doing any kind of touring during this summer … I would imagine that if anything the Queen thing would be for one off or short term appearances or collaborations with them .. if something is offered to him where it coincides with a day off on the tour and it’s logistically possible then perhaps he will do something .. but I can’t see him being allowed to bump any tour dates to go off and do something else .. and Adam seems too professional to do something like that and disappoint the people who’ve been supporting him and are looking forward to seeing him.

  • Jx223

I think that Adam and Scott talked the most.

Megan barely talked and Danny was pretty quiet as well. I would have liked to have heard Danny talk more. I did like his interaction with Allison.

Allison seems like a sweet kid.

I like a Lil lot more now that Idol is over. I think that she was being reasonable about wanting to stay in Memphis instead of moving out to LA.

I thought that Michael really only seemed to talk when Ryan asked him a question.

Kris is not very interesting, IMO.

I am glad that Anoop got a decent amount of air time, but I do wish that Ryan would have let that incident with Kara go. He always likes to bring it up.

Matt was cool. I think that he is pretty talented and would like to see him get a record deal.

as far as I know, Adam is under contract to perform on ALL the shows on the tour.

For someone who is so conscious of his fans here in America, I can’t see Adam ditching the tour at all this summer. At least I hope he won’t because he is the reason that I bought tickets. I admit it, I really want to see Adam live. I’ll enjoy Kris and Allison, and probably Anoop and Matt, too, but I’m truly going there to see the phenomenon that is Adam Lambert.

This seems to be the new argument against Kris, but there is just no evidence for it.

Sorry guys, but can anyone tell me whatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s those 2 quotes on top about?? I have not been updating myself on my MJà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s daily news!! Hahaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.and kinda too many comments to screen through to find out, so thought anyone could fill me in pleasssseee???

I just spent the last half hour going through this thread and editing many posts.

I banned one poster. A couple of you will be banned soon if you don’t change your posting style pronto. And I’ll say I’m very frustrated with long-time posters who just refuse to folllow my guidelines.

If you’re here to poke at and feel superior to the fangirls, maybe you should be hanging out at Vote for the Worst. They do a fine job over there, but it’s not what I’m about here.

I’m also frustrated with posters who continue to take the bait when I’ve requested that you don’t. I’m going to start modding like TWOP–where EVERYBODY gets banned, the poster who breaks the rules, as well as everyone who reacts…

Just give me an interview with Kradison, they are the only 3 I care about

  • hayden0604

I hate to be mean. I like Scott but . . . . . . he wouldn’t shut up through the WHOLE interview. Lil and Megan didn’t get much air time @ ALL. I was very dissapointed with this show!

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see Adam ditching the tour at all this summer. At least I hope he wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t because he is the reason that I bought tickets. I admit it, I really want to see Adam live. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll enjoy Kris and Allison, and probably Anoop and Matt, too, but Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m truly going there to see the phenomenon that is Adam Lambert.

Thank you for saying exactly what I’m thinking.

Honestly, it never occurred to me that Adam would miss any tour dates, until longtime AI watchers came by and told the Bo and Kat stories. Now I’m a little skeered!

(And it’s worse cuz I’m in a Southern city that might be seen as stereotypically more receptive to a no-Adam show — I’m here to tell whoever’s reading YOU’RE WRONG, DON’T EVEN THINK OF PULLING ADAM FROM A SHOW!!!!! Ok, I feel better, thanks for letting me get that out…)

  • Cheetara86

I did love how Kris, Adam, and Allison would lean into each other..there comfortable around one another.

  • Qcloud9

Can you imagine if the show was coming to your town and Adam was a no show because he was sick and you found out later that he appeared somewhere else with Queen?

Oops! That would be more embarrassing than calling in sick, then showing up back to work with a big racoon-eye tan where your sunglasses were! :smile2_ee:

  • heartensoul0214

This group seems to be getting along very well…

Anoop seems to be the most intellectual on the bunch and Matt seems to be the most friendliest…

Alisson, Adam and Kris looks really tired and sleepy on this interview…I think they need some rest…

From my understanding, Scott is not saying he is signed or what. He is just talking about releasing an album after summer tour. I know some people are laughing at him about that. He does not need to get signed in order to release an album. With or without a record deal, that will happen. And yes, he is moving ahead. He has released album previously, so what he is saying totally MAKES SENSE.

Thanks for your site, MJ. I appreciate it, for giving us a chance to voice out comments/opinions.

I pretty much enjoyed this interview. I thought Adam and Kris were super cute and very willing to let the others have their chance to speak. Tbere were a couple of times when I really thoght that Kris and Adam zoned out– manybe they were thinking about something else. It’s fun to see them as a group again. I wish Alexis was in the top 10.

There’s a lot I don’t know about the inner workings of Idol and 19, but I thought it was not allowed for any of the runners up to release albums before the winner. Or did I misinterpret something? Wouldn’t be the first time.

Sorry mj, got a bit carried away there! :redface_wp:

Just wanted to add that, “Godly way” video aside, I’m actually starting to warm to Danny a bit. (And I still don’t think Danny meant that in any malicious way, he’s just ignorant and unworldly – Sarver I’m not so sure about.) Anyway, he’s socially clumsy and more than prone to foot-in-mouth, and gives REALLY bad interview, but he seems honest, sincere and actually a decent enough guy. He came across as a nice person in this interview and also in the Access Hollywood one. And for what it’s worth, I don’t buy into the speculation that he and Adam don’t get along. I doubt they’re BFF’s who confide in each other and I’d be surprised if they’ve formed a friendship for life a la Kris & Adam, but there doesn’t seem to be any animosity and they seem to interract okay here, making eye contact and laughing at each other’s jokes easily enough.

I think the poor guy’s just in desperate need of some PR lessons!

  • holeighannie

Look’s like Megan’s the odd man out of this group, hmm? I wasn’t bothered by Michael at all, true to his custom, he appeared to speak only when spoken to. Scott on the other hand…

Seriously, Kris/Adam/Allison/Matt/Anoop should do an hour long interview, that would be awesome. Maybe Danny could be there for them to pick on, as they all obviously enjoy doing so, haha. It’s a shame Allison couldn’t have been Top 3 with Kradam, I just love them.

I don’t know about that, but I figured it’d be a different case for those who release albums on a major label or independently. Scott actually released a good number of albums independently before, and even sold them on iTunes and Amazon, so he has a good sense of how to manage himself as an artist and make his material accessible. He does not necessarily need to get signed to release music.

These contestants’ AI contracts run out in August, I believe, and after that they can get picked up by labels if someone wants them. Is it different if they remain independent though?

  • praepos

The only nugget I got out of the LKL interview is that Adam, even when heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the runner up and half-asleep, is still the focus. Dude just stands out whenever and where ever he is. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a STAH.

Of course he stands out. He’s the only one in white against a dark background while everyone else is looking drab. How could he not stand out? Adam is extremely media-savvy. He doesn’t need to say much–or even sing well–the visuals are enough. They won’t be on his album, though–and that’ll be a problem.

  • wand3rful

all of this music classification is hurting my brain (doesnt say much about me, i know LOL)….my iTunes classifies Coldplay as Alternative and Rock (depending on the album). ive noticed the same thing w. other artists (r&b and rap is another one that gets interchanged in my library). thus we really dont know how adam or kris albums will be viewed.

i wish ryan would have asked both guys to elaborate on their future works…for example: adam has mentioned wanting to work w. madonna, so does that mean his music will be more pop/dance? again, ryan could’ve studied his questions a bit more…seems he just sat down, read a piece of paper thrown at him, and brought nothing new to the table. since he is in the Idol bubble, i expect more out of him.

  • justshootme

LOL. And maybe he just likes that jacket.

These kids can repeat the party mantra, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“We all get along!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ as many times as they want, but I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see a whole lotta warmth between them. Last year, they were constantly ribbing one another, touching one another, exchanging smiles, glances, and private jokes. This season, the body language on LKL spoke volumes.

I agree. Last year there was a strong sense of mutual affection amongst all ten. It was out of the ordinary–and made for much more enjoyable tv, even with Larry King asking dumb questions and the two Davids looking exhausted. I don’t feel that same vibe here. The exchanges lack the cohesiveness that was so apparent last year. All ten last year had stronger vocal identities and better voices on the whole–absent huge egos. The concerts were fun because every single idol could hold his/her own as a performer. I don’t think that’s the case this year.

  • praepos

The word I was looking for to describe last year’s idols was “solidarity.” They seemed more unified and mutually supportive as a group.

  • xdahlia

Aww, thanks MJ for posting this. I’m suffering through idol withdrawal….They all seem so tired. lol.

I love how Kris indirectly bashed the song no boundaries.
:( Ryan cut off Anoop. He was gonna talk about the pact he made with Danny to keep the room clean for more than 48 hours…

  • Tess

Not a stretch to think that Danny is the messiest of the group. Just looking at him and how is dresses is a pretty good indication that he has some neatness issues. Anoop, on the other hand…..ah yes he was an only child, just remembered, and his Mom did look like she worshiped the ground he walked on. By the way, I miss Anoop’s parents….they were the best!

I’m glad I got to watch these videos without all the commercials, thanks for posting them.

Too bad Megan didn’t get to say much, I like her personality. I thought they all did pretty well, Anoop was pretty quick on his feet when Ryan asked if he’d date Kara! lol
Adam seemed like a brown-noser to Kara though in the third video, after Anoop spoke about her insulting his friends. Saying her critiques were mostly spot-on, she’s so giving, etc. I guess it’s easier for him to suck up and say how “spot-on” she was when he never got a hint of a bad review…

I’ve heard that rumor before, and maybe it was a rule when the American Idol started, but it can’t be anymore because Kellie and Daughtry both released albums before Taylor in S5 and Archie’s album came out before Cook’s last year.

The point is that he won’t need a record deal to release music. It’s all going to be done independently, where his sales will have no effect on whether or not he can continue his music career. He did this before already.

And for the record, his own material is miles better than what he did on Idol. It wouldn’t hurt to actually give it a listen.

  • steve

krist lee cook signed in June 2008 to Arista Nashville.Dont think you can release any music unless your signed or if they release you of your contract.Thats why you see idols put out records after a year goes by.I do think its a year from the date your voted off but could be reading the contract wrong.

I don’t agree that this group is less close than last season although I think both are close. I’d call it a draw. I also don’t think there’s any difference in the talent level. They’re just different. Overall they’re a great bunch of kids and I’m sure the concert will entertain just as much as previous seasons.

  • koun4ma

Thank you so much for the videos, MJ!!!
Matt is definitely the funny one, he shows more personality during post idol interviews than when he was on the show.
Adam is still hilarious! Awwww… He is just so cute! Every word that came out of his mouth just made my day!

Adam is so gracious to point out that what Kara has really contributed to the show. Yes, some Adam haters, or Kara haters or whoever hates the whole world would think Adam is just being whiny to say that. However, I totally agree with Adam, I think many people hate Kara just because they want to hate someone. Paula has always been the target, now there is another one! YAY! I think that’s what most haters think, they have found a new target to hate on. Since I’m not a big fan of idol or anti-idol, I can remain neutral and look at the whole show and the judges from a different perspective. I just hope there are less haters posting nasty comments everywhere to try to upset others, so for us, as fans, can stay focus on people that we love. On this note, although I dislike Kris personally (just my personaly preference, nothing against him), I have to agree with his message, in the American society, respect and tolerance are what most people have to learn.

  • KrazeeK120

I am walking away from these videos with one comment.

    SCOTT, SHUT UP!!!!

  • sallyas1

I was disappointed in this show as well. I’m almost always disappointed in the AI interview show on Larry King. Not enough questions from the fans answered. Too much emphasis on a few people – though Scott wasn’t having any of that this year. He spoke a whole lot more than the final 2. Ryan goofed on that. He needed to steer some of the questions to the final 2 as opposed to the entire group, where Scott invariably took over.

I did like Adam’s surprised expression when Scott talked about falling asleep during performing classical pieces.

  • sallyas1

I seriously doubt Adam will be let go from any of his Idol dates this summer. AI knows many fans purchased tickets just to see Adam. If AI let Adam off some of the dates this summer, then what is to say they won’t do that in future years. AI concert sales will drop for future seasons as well. I think the concert tour only lasts a few months? Adam will do the AI tour then see about hooking up with Queen for some dates with them.

Which I will dearly love. I’m still “iffy” on seeing the AI tour. Adam is the only one I am the slightest bit interested in seeing, so I’m not sure that is enough to get me there.

  • sallyas1

As for Bo and Kat missing some of their dates, wasn’t it due to illness? I think Bo’s stomach issues started right about then, and Kat had some kind of injury as well and could not perform. If Adam misses dates, it will be due to that and he won’t be performing with Queen or anywhere else.

  • alyssanix

Ryan that was boring! Bring Larry King back and do this over. Scott and Sarver talk too much for people who were voted off early, and Megan is like forgotten at the side. Nice to see Allison though and Matt and Anoop!

The highlights of the show is watching Kris and Adam nearly fall asleep listening to other people talk, but I totally dig the sarcastic comment by Adam about mountains and streams.

I prefer last year’s interview with Larry King. There was more camaraderie showing among the Idol contestants last year. This year’s group just seems tensed.

  • d. b. cooper

Adam better be at the concert I go to. And if he’s not I demand double Iraheta. :furious_tb: Wait, scratch that, I demand double Iraheta no matter what! Make a note, double Iraheta at the Atlanta show. But really, I can’t imagine a scenario wherein Adam not being at any show without multiple doctor’s affidavits would be remotely acceptable. I’m sure he’s driving ticket sales. I’m definitely excited to hear him.

Scott was clearly the most important person in that room.

Kris seems to have a very wry sense of humor, as does Adam. It would have been cooler if there had been more focus on Kris. He did win the show, right?

  • DJ

Thank you, MJ, for posting the entire show here. I had missed it, and a lot of sites had clips, but you have the whole thing. You rock!

  • Jupi

I’ve always thought the Top 7 got along pretty well with Scott, Megan & Sarver just kind of off to the side. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because they got eliminated earlier but it’s just always seemed that way to me.

I totally wouldn’t mind seeing a Dallison duet! I know most people want an Adam and Allison duet but they already had one on the show and I just want to see a different pairing. But I guess the bigger question is, will there even BE duets?

  • Anastasia72071

I did like Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s surprised expression when Scott talked about falling asleep during performing classical pieces.

Hehe – I thought I had imagined that look on Adam’s face! I figured maybe he was doing a mental shake “K Adam, wakey wakey!” but my *first* impression was that he was surprised at Scott’s comment. Funny.

  • Mary102

Great vids! Thanks so much for sharing! Looks like a great group of people. It was great seeing them all in candid, fun moments – but it definitely felt a bit like the “Adam Show” to me. Kris was definitely very quiet – but then I think that’s just his natural, laid back personality.

Adam is charisma personified – very quick and witty. Matt also seemed really cool and fun, as did Anoop (I know so many friends like Anoop!) Not sure how Adam wasn’t selected as the superlative for Biggest Rebel, but, maybe no one wanted to make it too much about him anymore! Danny seems very uncomfortable in the interviews though – he was the only one that seemed kind of out of place – everyone else just seemed like cool kids having a good time, but he was very reserved – like the adult watching over every one.

Best. Line. Ever. “So, Adam, why are you so fabulous?”

    “I was born that way!”

LOL! What a cool guy! I hope he talks to the audience during the idols tour. And I hope we get an Adam/Allison duet rather than the hinted at Danny/Allison duet. I want to hear Slow Ride again!

All in all – lots of fun to watch.

  • Mary102

Oh, and I just have to second those comments about how I would be majorly bummed if Adam didn’t show up at a show because of something else. I got good tickets to the tour, and my reasoning was basically:

    90% to see Adam
5% to see the other Top 4 (mainly Kris and Allison, but I think Danny will have a great big voice in person)
5% to see everyone else (most of whom were just “eh” to me this year)

So, yeah – Adam better be there. And my picks for his songs would be:

    * Mad World or Tracks of My Tears (preference on MW)
    * Feeling Good, Whole Lotta Love or Black or White (for more of a rock song)
    * Slow Ride duet with Allison (or another duet with her)
    * Something new (typically they’ll do a song or two that wasn’t on the show)

Hopefully he gets 4 songs – I think they gave Archie about as many as Cook last year, because of his popularity, but then Cook got an extra song with his encore.

But I remember when Kat wasn’t at part of the S5 tour, and it was a medical reason – I can’t imagine Adam would be allowed to book another gig because of contractual obligations.

  • Grammie Kari

Without Adam, this season’s Idol tour would be a bit bland. He’s like a spark in a spark plug. I imagine he’ll wear some of the clothes worn on the show.
