>>Actually, no. We were informed yesterday that 22 Christian missionaries were scheduled for execution in Afghanistan today.>>

Its a dangerous world out there. bad shit happens. I dont suspect they will find many converts in Afghanistan.

>>This conservative Christian thinks Adam Lambert probably is the most gifted competitor to ever grace the AI stage.>>

This pagan thinks otherwise. I have to wait and see if he is in the top 10 on my list. I'll let ya know. I like him, I dont love him yet.

>>but I actually watch AI for the God-given talent and despite the disturbing cynical exploitation.>>

You cant be exploited unless you allow yourself to be. I rather enjoy the dark side of Idol.

MJ : Thank you for answering me.

Amazing, and this particular group you mentioned were really good in season six.
And as long as they donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t sing inspirational songs every week, I will vote for them no matter what type of religion the contestants associate themselves with.

Terrie:

Actually, no. We were informed yesterday that 22 Christian missionaries were scheduled for execution in Afghanistan today.

Oh that is really sad, and my heart goes out to them and their loved ones.

I was very disappointed that Kris made it through after that really awful Man in the Mirro. He seems very kareoke, and Megan and Jesse were much better. I hope they both make it to the 12 but doubtful.

I aint never seen so many christians in all my life. Theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re takin over the world!

Actually, no. We were informed yesterday that 22 Christian missionaries were scheduled for execution in Afghanistan today. But, that aside, I whole-heartedly agree that the AI crew will exploit any aspect of a contestant's life to achieve their desired outcome.

This conservative Christian thinks Adam Lambert probably is the most gifted competitor to ever grace the AI stage. I don't know his most personal beliefs or private actions -- nor do I assume what they are or care to know, but I sure do enjoy his God-given talents.

My 5 all-time AI faves are Clay, Elliott, Chris Sligh, Jason, and now Adam. The fact that three were self-described Christians was an unexpected bonus, but I actually watch AI for the God-given talent and despite the disturbing cynical exploitation.

I am not holding my breath on a wildcard spot for Kai, pj and sumi (it was good while it lasted). I am for Megan, though. Next week, I hope Felicia Barton does not disappoint and Alex blows us away. Heh.

I had a weird dream about Danny Gokey last night. I was at work on my computer and he (and a couple of others) came up to me and he asked something like whether I make my purchases online in dollars or in pesos (my local currency). I said in pesos but qualified that of course sometimes I have to purchase in dollars, too. I thereafter turned my back on him to go back to work and he just took off with my purse that was on my table, running from the room. Hah! So much distrust for Danny, eh? LOL :p

Jesse seems like she would be full of snark. I think thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s why I like her.

And why she doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t stand a chance with Idol voters. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s definitely got a smart aleck attitude going on there. I love it, but many Idols viewers? Not so much.

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Too cool for schoolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t go down well on Idol. Just ask Chris Sligh.

I really liked her too, and I agree with this 100%. Did you see how quickly DC learned to dial back the snark after Simon threw a hissy fit? Too bad Jesse probably won't get the chance to learn that lesson with this one-shot (unless you're a judge's/producer's pet) to the top 12 format.

This sums it up for me. I love this blog! But Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m losing patience with the show. I remember back in 2006 when everyone in my office was glued to American Idol and it was real water-cooler conversation. I think Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m the only one who still watches it at all.

That's why I'm posting on this blog. My main board used to talk about American Idol every year. There has been no posts about the show at all this year. Zip. It's all about Lost, Biggest Loser, etc.

At work, no one is watching it. They're done.

I don't know why, but the one I'm looking forward to next week is Nathaniel. He's my last hope. (other than some Wild Card picks) I thought his version of Disturbia was pretty terrific despite his occasional whining off and on stage.

Someone mentioned The Killers. MCR, and Panic. That kind of music is the bread and butter of my ipod. I still don't think Adam's brand of theatricality is rooted in alt. rock rhythms thus far. His Believe and Satisfaction contained rhythmic ritards in the verses in order to vamp the melody. It was a cabaret style version.

Kris did earn some bonus points, IMO, with his 2nd performance of Man in the Mirror because his overwhelming joy at making it through was contagious. It was really sweet to see such pure incredulity at his lucky break.

YES! I agree with this wholeheartedly. Even though the vocals weren't as good as the night before, I almost felt as if it was a different song and enjoyed seeing his personality come forth as he sang it last night.

I can't personally compare Kris and Archie. Even though I've come to realize otherwise, Archie's humbleness on the show almost seemed fake to me last yr., whereas Kris's humbleness was raw and real imho. (hee, see what I did there? ;)) I'm very excited that he in is the top 12! I also believe he has a singer/songwriter vibe to him as someone mentioned above.

Also, a couple peeps asked about the Michael Buble (sp?) song from Hollywood. I don't think it's available. I searched some on the tube last night and didn't find anything. Perhaps it wasn't approved to be shown...too bad.

In addition, some have mentioned TPTB need for a pretty blond in top 12. What about Kristen and Kendall who are coming up next week? They're both blond and country (right?), which there is not anyone representing that genre yet...

Also, I'm quite sad because I can see due to lack of diversity so far, there is no way Ricky and Jesse can make the top 12, even if they make the wildcard round..:(.
