Did you see that blond guy?! i would never expect that voice coming out from him, he sounds good. and that metal guy? he’s not sounding bad too. I’m very excited for this season!

Some suggest as many as 20,000 or more will show up. That would be one amazing turnout and might prove the show is not dead anytime soon. Hopefully they aren’t all Bieber wannabes though…

Isn’t gangreen29 audition at this location. MJ have you heard from him/her? Is he/she agree to submit a recap at some point?

I may be in the minority, but I don’t think that the show is dead at all. Definitely from the contestants’ viewpoint. I think it will definitely change without Simon, but will carry on in its different way. IMO, this year, other than to coax Lee out of his shell, he didn’t contribute much. It was obvious to me that he had already mentally checked out.

I’m hoping that by the time August 3rd rolls around, the producers/talent scouts at that very first audition might be loosening up a little bit, whereas at the beginning they may be very strict since they still have so far to go in the process.

I agree that Simon mentally checked out. His criticism was never constructive and tended toward the “destructive” side. And he made no secret of the fact that he was bored with the whole blooming thing. He was light years away and making deep plans for his new X Factor show. To him, Idol was a toy he had outgrown and discarded.

I like that heavy metal guy, he is something a bit different. Sounds like he has a great personality as well, hope he makes it.

I listen to some of his songs, i actually liked!

I just can’t bring myself to get excited about this year – I blame season 9. “Sigh” I feel like an old friend died.

I hope theres some REAL talent!

I wonder if the huge crowds suggest that people just want to move on? After all, the tour is tanking…
