American Idol Mic Ceremony Feat. Alums Was Pre-Taped (PHOTOS)

I was expecting the Idol Mic ceremony a few alums were hinting at via twitter to happen during the performance show. But it looks like the ceremony was pre-taped on the Idol stage after the show.

It’s safe to assume the video will air during tonight’s results episode.

Pia Toscano tweeted a couple of photos of herself and friends on the Idol stage tonight.  Pia is to the right of Ryan with Brooke White and Michael Johns standing next to her.

Here’s another shot. I think Pia is handing the mic off to Ryan.

Music director, Michael Orland, tweeted the following photo. I believe these are all of the Idols involved with the ceremony.

    aww it’s good to see the alums back. i loved brooke white and i actually wanted her to win, but alas, it was not meant to be lol

    That’s a nice group of past idols. A lot of great moments took place because of some of the folks in those pics.

    I was there last night at CBS, it was so cool! The segment was actually shot about half an hour before the show started and they had to tweak it several times to get it perfect. While I was waiting outside of the studio, I saw Nigel, Pia, Diana, and Ace. It was awesome!

    LOL what is Pia doing?? What on earth is the “mic” ceremony? I never heard of it. Guess I’m not paying too close attention.

    Yes, what is an Idol Mic ceremony, and why did they have it? Do they do this every year? Is it a charity fundraiser?
