Randy Jackson has been silent on the announced departures of his fellow American Idol judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, but today he released a statement:

“Steven and Jennifer are truly two of the most talented and consummate professionals I’ve worked with,” Jackson tells E! News exclusively in a statement. “I was friends with them before we hopped on this crazy journey together and I have no doubt our friendships will continue long after. I will love them for life.”

Ryan Seacrest released a statement yesterday after Steven Tyler announced that he’d be leaving Idol

“I still can’t believe I shared the same stage with Steven Tyler,” host Ryan Seacrest said in a statement. “He is a brilliant artist and a true legend of rock-and-roll, and it was a blast to have him on Idol these last two seasons. As one of his legions of fans, I can’t wait to see him on stage rockin’ out with Aerosmith this summer.”

And Jennifer Lopez weighed in on Steven’s departure before she laid her own bombshell this morning on Ryan’s radio show:

“I can’t even imagine anyone else there right now because I’ve just spent two years sitting next to him,” she said. “I love Steven, and we became close during that time. We were a great support for each other, on an adventure that neither one of us knew what it was going to be.”

Oddly, there hasn’t been much reaction from the Season 10 and 11 Idols.

From Season 10, Paul McDonald tweeted, “Just read the news-such an amazing crew! @IamStevenT @JLo & @YO_RANDYJACKSON I’m so grateful to have been a part…”

And Pia Toscano, “Will truly miss watching Steven Tyler on American Idol. It was a privilege & an honor to have the opportunity to sing b4 him #americanidol”

From Season 11, Jeremy Rosado tweeted,   “Can’t believe @IamStevenT is leaving #IDOL What an Honor to be chosen by such a #Legend And even more an #AMAZING Person Love you! GB:) TY” and  “To me @americanidol was even better with @jlo I gonna miss watching her on the show!”

Colton Dixon tweeted, “Sad to see @IamStevenT go. He truly was a great judge, and helped me out in many ways. Thanks for everything!”

Who is judging the current auditions? Are they still in the cattle call stages and the auditions with the judges haven’t happened yet?

That’s what I asked in the other thread, but don’t think I got an answer. When do the TV judges enter the audition phase? I always thought they started in August, but maybe it’s later on in the game. Anybody??

I believe it’s around August when they begin filming with the judges, so we might hear pretty quickly who the new judges will be.

Meanwhile, I will praying that Randy Jackson releases a statement saying that after ELEVEN YEARS of not being helpful and criticizing the best contestants he will finally go back to living with his mother.

I believe they didn’t even reveal the new judges for Season 10 until September. I think it was late September when they did judges auditions.

We may still have a long way to go before anything is decided.

Randy is quiet because he knows that his announcement of “leaving” is next. Even though they will push his behind out. :P

Randy is the best and should stay, but they need a country music icon and Adam Lambert to add some class to the group, hopefully they will be fair anyone would be more fair than Steven and Jo Lo she was the worst ever!! except for Paula….that was the bottom of the barrel.. Xfactor will fail also the concept of that show is so ridiculous ..WOW just heard they are considering Mariah Carey, just another DIVA like JoLo.. Fergie is also in contention they say, she would be ok!!

great idea to get someone in the judges seat that knows something about country music.also I like the idea of Adam Lambert as a judge too.no way to Kanya W.and no way to Mariah C.the 1st.time I spot a Kardashian in the audience I would turn it.and never watch again.can’t stand the thought of those two hanging all over ea.other total Yuk

First time I spotted the Kardashians in the audience was during AI8. Ryan had them seated right behind ADAM’s family in the audience. The real star maker of them all is Seacrest, not the two Simon of Idol and XFactor who are rivals in this arena. And not only did Ryan make one star at a time, but the whole Kardashian clan at the same time out of nothing. He’s laughing all the way to the bank and at the two Simons.

I am doubtful Randy will leave. First he got paid not as much as other judges. IF Randy leave, that mean, Fox had to find 3 (very/ at least still) famous judges and had to paid them a tons.

How come we didn’t see the Steven that Colton is talking about.  I didn’t realize he was so helpful to Colton.  I must have missed it.

Because of all the talk, it seems Randy may need to move as a mentor.  I just can’t figure how he will do it.
