Industry rag, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the long-awaited American Idol judges’ panel announcement could be made at next week’s Los Angeles cattle call auditions. The LA auditions are set to begin on September 24.
Nothing is official at this point, according to HR, but FOX is “likely to break its “no comment” silence with some form of “Idol”-related announcement before the weekend.”

It’s expected that the announcement will confirm what we’ve heard in countless reports, that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson on the judges’ panel.
Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records chairmain Jimmy Iovine–is also expected to play a role on the show, according to HR. Parent company UMG will distribute Idol music for 19 recordings beginning with Season 10.
UPDATE: Ryan Seacrest just tweeted that he WILL introduce the judges’ panel at the on Wednesday:
He tweeted: “Looks like I have some new plans on wed! I will be able to introduce the @AmericanIdol judges panel! We will send u a pic! Can’t wait”
I’m assuming that will happen at the LA Auditions.
