This thread seemed like a good place to put this info, Leslie Hunt (S6) has the first song of her album free to download on her website: http://lesliehunt.net/

The song is called American Dream Man.

I’ve heard a rumor that Michael and Brooke will be touring together. Is this true?
Judging by the sound of their music I think they would fit well together. It could be a nice show.

  • brie200

I wouldn’t be surprised if Brooke and Michael Johns tour together. I agree it would be a good show in terms of their music would go well together. I’m not sure how great a move it is for Brooke to hitch her wagon to Johns though considering how massively his album flopped.

On a shallow note, I do not like that pic of Brooke. It looks very odd. Like it was photoshopped to the point that it no longer even looks like Brooke.

  • kbr

Yeah, I don’t really think Michael is going to be pulling Brooke down if they tour together…but that’s just my humble opinion. It was tough timing for Michael’s album release since it was within a week of Michael Jackson’s death and consequently his music took over the charts leaving new artists like Michael Johns in a tough spot. With the tour coming up this summer and more appearances planned I wouldn’t count Michael out just yet.

On a positive note Michael’s management did say he and Brooke would be touring together this August so hopefully it’s true. I am fans of both artists so I am psyched to see them perform together, and of course to hear them perform “Life is Okay” live!

Michael is also going to be a part of David Foster’s, Foster and Friends tour but I am not sure when that is taking place. I guess some time this fall.

Am I the only one who thinks Brooke looks like Taylor Swift in that picture?

Yeah, I totally agree. I wouldn’t even have realized it was Brooke if not for the headline! And I know it’s not me because I spotted her nanosecond of an appearance in that DSW Shoes commercial a few months back.

What is it with these art director types? Why do they feel the need to alter artists’ faces and bodies? It is just so bizarre, like there’s a subliminal message: Not Good Enough. And Brooke is so pretty. WTF!

  • jack5791

Very impressed with Phil’s song. I think this is his genre.

I’m looking forward to Brooke’s album! I’ve loved the two singles so dar so I’m sure the rest is just as good.

Well, Brooke’s album hasn’t come out yet, so in theory she might still sell less than MJ her opening week. I doubt it, though, this little blurb already looks like more promo than Michael got before his release.

In any case, the joint power of two Idols could very possibly be larger than the sum of its parts, because a combined tour might draw Idol fans, while a solo tour by either one is less likely to, IMHO.

I don’t like them photoshopping the heck out of Jordin, but when people feel they have to photoshop the heck out of *Brooke* it really makes you wonder.

wow–Phil Stacy sounds incredible. Do songs on a Christian label ever get promoted beyond the Christian world? (BTW–what is the Christian music world? I grew up Catholic and I’m pretty sure that I was never in it.)

  • eveh

Christian artists have large concerts and play festivals and outdoor charity events just like other artists do. Sometimes a few groups will have a concert together and sometimes they headline with a few local groups. I love thses concerts. You don’t have to worry about the language around you and people being rude and loud. I always have so much fun. What most people who have never attendad a Christian concert don’t know is how much fun we have. I have had more fun since I became a Christian than I ever had before. Attend one sometimes and come away with a smile and a good feeling. WTG Phil. Can’t wait to see you in concert.

  • stairwaytoseven

I don’t think it is shallow at all (for the original commenter). I think it is ridiculous to completely change the face and mouth of someone who really doesn’t need any “help” to look better.

They did the same thing with Kelly Clarkson’s last album and I thought she had actually changed – having not seen her for some years – and then when she came on AI to perform, I did not even think it was the same person.

It disappoints me that she went along with the photo.

eveh, you explained it well concerning Christian concerts, :-) . It may not be a good way to express it, but Christians can go as crazy for the God they love and Whom the artists honor, as anyone does for their favorite artist or athlete .Some denominations of Christianity are more reserved than others, and that is fine. I happen to attend a Pentecostal church. My pastor’s wife is a Puerto Rican from New York, so that can perhaps tell you how loud and exhuberant we can get in our church, lol. And since Phil is the one that is being mentioned here, I will post below some links of him leading worship and singing. It will give you an idea of how he would be at his concerts. I am sure you can check out some videos of Mandisa as well, for example, and if they have some of artists like Disciple and even the Hillsongs ministry out of Australia, you will see what it is like at Christian concerts, :-) .

Photoshopping Brooke? Now I’ve heard it all. Pshaw.

By and large I think not. Worse news for Phil, though, to me is that his voice apparently didn’t translate to a country audience. I thought that it could. Country fans often are fans of good voices, I always thought, and he has lots of country influence in his life, had a bit of a twang, and so on. But for whatever reason he didn’t take hold there. That being the case, I don’t know how much crossover potential he actually has.

Nevertheless, I think you can make a good living out of being a Christian artist these days, and as long as he’s doing something that he believes in and enjoys, he probably doesn’t need more than that. Hope this works out well for him. He does have a nice voice and he seems like a good, hardworking guy.
