gelfling - thank you - you beat me to it. It was pretty interesting. He sang a few songs from the new CD - first time we have heard the entire songs since only snippets have been allowed on several music sites. It's a very smooth CD, all original music. Lover All Alone was written by Clay. And yes, he has a few up tempo songs. Kipper, came on board, he produces Sting and Chris Botti. Should be a big seller.

Former_AI_Junkie Apr 28th, 2008 at 7:25 am

QVC seems, to me, like a strange choice of venue to sell albums

Not to Clayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s demographic à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ in fact, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s pretty much a perfect fit.

Clay's demographic encompasses everyone from 1 to 95, all races and genders and QVC is getting more and more into selling music. They even recently started their own label.

Paul McCartney, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Alabama, Barry Manilow, Chaka Khan, Carly Simon. Goo Goo Dolls and Neil Sedaka have all been recently featured.

QVC's 39-year-old director of entertainment buying, Rich Yoegel, thinks there's a void to fill with the disappearance of music retailers à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬' for example, Tower Records.
Last summer, Mr. Yoegel (a fan of groups like Train and Journey) began aggressively approaching labels looking for compatible artists that would offer exclusive bonus material and competitive prices. "There is a business for selling plastic" as opposed to music downloads, he says.

Wednesday 4/30 -Melinda Doolittle, Kroger @ 30935 5 Mile Rd. Livonia MI, for Dryers/Edyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Ice Cream, 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Chris Richardson, Pick N Save @ 12735 West Capitol, Brookfield WI, for Edys/Dryers Ice Cream, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

I know it's the ice cream tour - but these appearances just crack me up for some reason. I just would love to hear the conversation where Chris Richardson's manager tells him "Okay, today, you'll be at the Pick N Save, tomorrow you'll be at the Piggly Wiggly".

Although I wish Clay all the best, QVC seems, to me, like a strange choice of venue to sell albums. This will be interesting.
