  • Axxxel

Adam Lambert in Finland, performing the last concert of his Asian-Eastern Europe tour in the land of his boyfriend… sigh… Am sure that his “Broken English” will sound wonderfully here… Maybe some BTIKM ??? Or maybe another surprise performance… an Adam Lambert song that is rarely performed live ? Ah, wishful thinking.

  • bridgette12

It’s a great way to end the tour, the arena is going to packed with screaming fans. I wonder if any of his family or friends are coming from the States.

  • http://twitter.com/TarheelShari Sharon S.

Per Twitter, Adam soundchecked “Hot Stuff” (and “killed it”). It’ll be interesting to see if there will some interesting tweaks to the set list!

  • Nadine_Bitch

I think I read somewhere that he soundchecked ”Madworld” in Moscow? or was that Kiev. But he didn’t sing it. I’d rather love for him to do one of his songs that he still didn’t sing live(Nirvana, Runnin…)

  • Nadine_Bitch

Glamberts are camping since 20th outside the Hartwall Arena.

@jimkohl do you remeber the new song name— Betty Jo Sexton (@Durbinator900) March 22, 2013

@durbinator900 one was “get over me like I got over you” a breakup song. Another was “Santa Cruz” there were a couple others— Jim Kohl (@jimkohl) March 22, 2013

  • ANNIEBA

Woohoo! Sold out arena show for Adam in Helsinki!!! 11k+! Hell of a way to end this tour. So excited for everyone that gets to attend. And so happy for Adam that this tour went so well. Kudos to him for putting together a really great show too. Terrific reviews and many happy fans, he did good.

  • ali_359921

    He did great.

  • Nadine_Bitch

He really did. Congratulations Adam and co for a successful international Tour!

Too bad the venue blocked stream connection:(

But I’m sure there would be TONS of videos.

They said he’s doing 22 songs with 3 encores!!! What a way to end this awesome tour!

  • seashellz51

Apparently 22 songs + 3 encores. So sounds like maybe some new song(s).

  • Nadine_Bitch

HUGE Crowd picture of the Sold out Hartwall Areena in Helsinki:

  • Nadine_Bitch

The capacity of the venue is 13,000 though and it said to be sold out!

@konchokdolma: CONGRATULATIONS @adamlambert on SELLING OUT 13,000 capacity Arena today! HELSINKI

  • Nadine_Bitch

My bet is on Stay/ Underneath; hotstuff; Madworld; another queen song probably. And I think he’ll sing either Nirvana or Map for Sauli.

  • bridgette12

What a great way to end the tour in front of a sold out arena of screamings fans and hopefully a lot of cameras. I can’t wait to see the videos, especially of any new songs he do.

  • Nadine_Bitch

I can’t believed he finally sing RUNNIN’. There better be a great video for this.

  • bridgette12

We have to have video of this whole concert. Glad to hear that he’s singing Runnin, play that song a lot, it’s a wonderful song.

  • bridgette12

Damn it, I wanted to hear Runnin.

Oh my, look at this crowd!! This is amazing! Well done Finnish fans and of course all the other fans who traveled there! Way to show Adam the love. From the tweets it seems like it was a fantastic concert. Hope we get some pictures from the after party and of course videos!

  • bridgette12

What a picture, it’s like all 13k of them is reaching out to Adam. Must be an amazing feeling to be on stage and look out at a crowd this size. I can’t even imagine how overwhelmed he felt when he was on tour with Queen and looked out at a crowd of 250,000 people staring back at him.

  • Axxxel

    wow, rockish Chokehold…. swoon !!

  • Axxxel

LOL…. oh your poor heart and my poor heart just by reading your posting now ! Am maybe a bit too much into “Running”.. but Chokehold is more than ok for me too…

  • ANNIEBA

This is beautiful! You can see the love on their faces, lol. What must Adam feel with all that energy and emotion being thrown toward him?

  • Axxxel

yeah… we still remember what can happen with soundchecks (cfr when he covered Madonna’s Ray of Light ” during soundcheck)

  • H.A.

Bertlandia, you were amazing. They look like sardines in that picture. What a fantastic ending for Adam.

    Goodbye Trespassing Era 2 *sniff*

    shoshanna stone@shoshannastone
@ArtEleanor exciting things to come :)

  • Axxxel

talking about ending it with a BANG !

  • justmefornow

Some videos are up now of James’ show at the Catalyst on Thurs.
In this new song James pulls a Taylor Swift, lol, with a breakup song for guys called “Get Over Yourself Like I Got Over You”…
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q30KZuPI0sc

  • YankeeFan08

That is an amazing picture of the crowd! So happy for Adam. Our international superstar!!! The WAG international tour was a smashing success!

  • bridgette12

When Shoshanna say exciting things to come, she haven’t been wrong yet. It’s going to be fun waiting for the surprises.

  • irockhard

LMAO that song f*cking hysterical!!!!!!!!!! It’s loaded with attitude and snark, genius!

  • justmefornow

LOL, I know and I loved the little Taylor impersonation at the beginning.

The only other new song so far on Larry’s channel is “Not Alone”
Maybe he has more to upload, I hope so because I really want to hear “Louder Than a Loaded Gun” and “Forget It”. Any reports that he sang those yesterday?

  • irockhard

    He did.

  • justmefornow

I just found a somewhat crappy version of LTALG, bass is somewhat distorted, but you get the general idea

Watching these vids from Helsinki reinforces once again the brilliance of Lambert live. Whether before thousands – or just a small audience in a simple acoustic performance – his extraordinary voice and warm, winning personality shine through. My gratitude to his worldwide fans who provide these YTs for those of us unable to attend.

  • DragonFly

All James songs are difficult to perform live one after the other–you get a feeling of exhaustion watching him–he does put everything into his shows. The band is baacck–Jeff, he’s great, Justin is working in just fine, Blake transitioned very well, moves are there for all of them & James is always a show to be at & loved by his audiences. Not Alone & Get Over Yourself Like I Got Over You—liking them just fine so far! Better video of May–good version. Shirts w/his name on the sleeves are good looking. Only bad news is if his voice is truly “under the weather”. Lots of temp changes this week. This stage seemed awful warm for them while performing. Nice to get these videos & see James/band performing w/close-ups.

  • irockhard

And here come Keith’s vids. Santa Cruz up first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w_oLqpXD4U

  • justmefornow

You can tell he was starting to lose his voice last night, he must be sick.
But I’m loving these new songs. I can’t wait to hear Keith’s other videos especially “Louder Than a Loaded Gun” and “Forget It”.

So far I really love the Break-up song, lol. It’s good he’s previewing these to gauge fan reaction and preference.
    Very Smart.

  • durbesque

LTALG will be a big song for him. His voice seems shot, but he pushes through. That’s how they ruin their voices eventually.

  • irockhard

Anxiously awaiting to hear those 2 as well. Get Over Yourself is AMAZEBALLS, James is one hell of a songwriter.

  • ANNIEBA

I have watching Helsinki concert vids for the last hour, omg. There so many of them and most of them are really good quality. Adam went all out vocally in every single song! I can’t believe his vocals, they were crazy! He was so loose and goofy and sexy and so completely confident. The interaction with his entourage was so much fun to watch! This has been the most enjoyable and impressive set of concert vids so far for me. Everything just seemed to work! Overused word, but this concert was truly epic!

  • ANNIEBA

    Good God, look at that!

  • ANNIEBA

There is an HD Trespassing vid that I can’t seem to bring over on my IPad that pans all around the stadium at the end and you can see the mass of people there. Maybe somebody else can post it, it is incredible.

  • Nadine_Bitch
  • Nadine_Bitch

That was an AWESOME, AWESOME crowd!

  • DragonFly

Uptempo sound w/”snarky” lyrics is everything on this one —so much attitude & James’ delivery is perfect for it! Liked it when he took over Justin’s mic & he played along right back to James–think he’ll fit in quite well w/the guys. .

  • irockhard
  • irockhard

And finally, Louder Than a Loaded Gun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqOp7yVwD-g

  • irockhard

Oh and May, the “steroids” version:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j30MOGQeIFQ

  • irockhard
  • irockhard

I hope this song becomes a single, can you imagine the music video?! It’ll be insanely funny!!!

  • justmefornow

Ok. I’ve listened to the new ones. GOY & LTALG are still my favorites. Not sure if radio would play GOY, but I think it’s the most fun and different of all the songs. His new sound is like a hybrid of Green Day/ Aerosmith/with Queen-like vocals, but with a modern edge. I can’t really describe it. It’s definitely unique.
The question is now, will debuting a new sound be given a chance at radio? I hope so because his songs are great. They are catchy, have great lyrics, melodies and hooks.
He is one hell of a song writer.

  • irockhard

The rock stations have much closer ties to the community than the HAC and CHR stations cause they’re smaller – less listeners. The key is win over these listeners live, then they will request the songs and the rock stations will play them. There’s a reason I keep plugging – tour, tour and tour some more. In the meantime he needs to look for opportunities to licence his songs in various media.

  • lovetheusa1776

Like those two songs as well. And, even with the huskiness (which I actually like), he sounds good. Was looking at his pre-Idol music again the other day – 2008 or so – teenager – fun to watch.

  • irockhard

Your reply here actually reminded me of something. His current sound is actually very similar to one of his pre-Idol bands – Whatever Fits. His current stage attire is also similar to the stage attire he wore in that band – just jeans and t-shirts. I think they still have stuff up on Myspace. These new songs are much better written than those songs though.

  • askance

I was there and it was an amazing show. Spotted lots of local celebs too, it was a very diverse crowd all in all. Sad the tour has come to an end, actually not yet as I’m still on a high, but I know I will be soon lol

Nice spread in the local paper (headline: ‘Adam dedicated song to Sauli’):
    http://uploadingit.com/file/qo5fwtjtv31dawpo/IS-2013-03-23.jpg

  • Nadine_Bitch

Oh, Axxxel, the up then down emotions. It was a torture:)lol

  • YankeeFan08

Yes, and there have been tweets from the band that “there is more to come”.

  • bridgette12

I think one of the “more to come” is going back to Shanghai to perform.

  • Anny_nanny

Official statement: I love this post. ))) Thank you for the links!

  • irockhard

You’re welcome, just keeping my word.

  • roarpen

Get over yourself like I got over you is just snarkiliscious. Paul Jolley – James Durbin just beat you to the punch on being the male Taylor Swift – LMFAO!! But so so snarky – the anti-Taylor anthem!! Love it!!

  • justmefornow

That’s the song I keep going back to replay as well. Everything about it just works. Perfect time for an anti-Taylor song as well, her dating record has made her become a punch line, lol.

I know we haven’t heard all the new stuff yet, but so far for me, that’s the one.

  • DragonFly

LTALG — great crowd song. Like the music too. “Forget It” just below–fun banter w/the people with the “forget it lead-in” before singing. Fans are all different so he’ll have to collect the comments/reactions. Really seems they would have had a blast writing these..

  • Axxxel

Yeah Babe :P… Maybe because expectations were so high for this last concert of his tour in his second homeland…

  • roarpen

He is doing well with his songwriting. I hope his voice holds up. He sounded sick-poor guy. My big concern is – where are the tour dates? When do we hear more about touring? He needs to be out touring and building a fan base. The Idol fan base, with the exception of the die-hards, is past its expiration date. They never stay long – that is true for any Idol. It’s build a fanbase or die.

  • sabbia

A little late to the party.

Curious what other James’ fans here think of the new songs. Let’s just say I’m not jumping up and down in anticipation of the new album after hearing these morsels. I certainly don’t hate them……they are just OK to me and are veering way into the alt-rock direction that I anticipated since they didn’t replace Dylan. They also don’t showcase James’ powerful voice to the degree I’d like. (and I don’t think it has anything to do with how he was feeling that particular evening)

For my own selfish desires, my hope is that these are the All I Wants and Love Me Bads of the new album (or maybe they won’t be making the cut at all) with the harder stuff yet to be heard.

  • sabbia

Nevermind….I am getting lost in this new format. I just found more comments I missed the first time around and seems I’m in the minority re: the new songs.

  • justmefornow

The ones I really like the most so far are Get Over Yourself and Louder Than a Loaded Gun.
I too hope he has some harder stuff to come also, but I’m beginning to wonder just how hard. This may be a taste of a more alt rock/punk album this time. But these are live versions without the studio versions to compare too, so we really don’t know what the final mix will be like exactly on the album.
James & the guys (mostly James) apparently have written over 40 songs for the new album as well so it’s hard to say which ones at this point will actually make the final cut.

  • irockhard

He needs to change management cause 19M refuses to realize what you’re saying. But that should happen soon.

  • irockhard

I think James is trying to target a younger audience. Unfortunately extended guitar solos, theatrical frontmen and high pitched wailing are kinda not in style anymore.

I prefer harder rock myself, of these songs I like GOY and LTALG because they sound the heaviest, the others not as much. Though the songwriting is superior to that of MOABD and that is important IMO.

Stick around, there’s still a lot of songs we haven’t heard yet.

  • irockhard

Get Over Yourself and Louder Than a Loaded Gun are heavy enough for me. Don’t get me wrong, the heavier the better (I’m a metalhead fan too) but I really like them, especially GOY. I would love that song to be a single just cause I’d love to see a music vid for it.

Forget It is good for album filler, seems like a grower.

You’re Not Alone and Santa Cruz on the other hand can either stay off the album or be bonus tracks – they’re too soft/poppy.

  • irockhard

MTE. I have really been raping the reply button on that one.

  • sabbia

I know this is all entertaining speculation since we don’t know James’ intentions but I hope James is not changing his music style just to suit a certain audience or to try confirm to what is “in”. We know the term used for that. :-)

He just has this tremendous rock voice and I’d hate for him not to use it. I think when musicians do what they do and do it well, there will be peeps who enjoy it and will support. When I hear James’ on stage with Steel Panther covering Guns-n-Roses or on Rock on the Range covering Dio, that is when he is in his element and the audience can feel it. I’m not saying he has to do classic covers but my hope has always been that he will find songs that will showcase that voice to the nth degree. Its all about the song and alt-rock songs don’t do that as well for him, IMO.

There’s a band my hubby stumbled upon Wolfmother a few years ago in a local CD store and we thought they were an old unknown 70s band. To our surprise, they were just starting out at the time and now they are slowing building a pretty good following. They are a good example of doing what they love and to hell what is in or not. (oddly retro sounds across all genres seem to be making a comeback)

  • irockhard

I think this era is gonna be one of experimentation and self discovery. As James continues tour and write, he will figure out what works for him and find the perfect balance between personal preference and what is best received by others.

  • justmefornow

I think the experimentation part is correct. He’s only 24 so he has a lot time yet to evolve his sound. Putting some of the new songs out there for fan reaction is probably part of it, and smart.

And he’s not only gotten fan reaction, but some of the new songs I think have poked some others with a stick ;))
    (Nice new tumblr site, btw)

  • irockhard

Haha, how’d you find my tumblr site, are you on twitter? Do I follow you?

  • justmefornow

lol, not on it but I saw it on James’ feed.

…And snarky comments from that fan group mean he’s on the right track, just saying :)

  • irockhard

    LOL true.

  • roarpen

OK now I am curious – lol. Interested in the poke with a stick. Are we talking about the one tweet wonder who trolls here? I think I know who that could be. Does every star, big or newbie, have a weirdo stalker troll like that?

  • justmefornow

    :))))
“Weirdo Stalker Troll”…… good name for a rock band, lol.

  • DragonFly

I think James IS pretty much writing & singing what he likes. His mood in doing his songs shows. I do agree that his performances: SCOM, Par. City, KMH, RITD– amazing! But on the other hand, the W/ArmsWO he performed for the police tribute amazed also. He does reinvent much of his music when doing a rock show… & I believe there are some harder songs coming. It can be very common to like only a few from an album–I seriously don’t find that w/what he puts out. & where is ITNOL ?? IMO there is little about any songs James has sung that I can criticize. Even Santa Cruz is tribute & will go well for area shows. And when I see/hear Jeff pounding those drums–it says Rock!

  • roarpen

I really miss the not nested comments. I am having a hard time finding the newer posts.

  • roarpen

Oh my sub-par brain is on overload. OK SCOM =? KMH=? RITD=?

  • irockhard

Sweet Child o Mine, Kickstart My Heart, Rainbow in the Dark.

  • DragonFly

Thanks — ITNOL is In The Name Of Love. –where is it?? Not forgotten I hope. Last, while I’m here–has anyone brought over the review printed for this Catalyst Show–I may have missed someone posting it. Sorry, don’t know how to bring down the print.
Review: James Durbin 4.0 – The Santa Cruz Star Debuts New Music at the Catalyst in the SantaCruzPatch.

  • roarpen

Thanks. When did he sing Kickstart My Heart? Am I a bad fan for not knowing? LOL -

  • DragonFly

Excellent– w/Steel Panther again–worth looking up.

  • irockhard

Very recently with Steel Panther, as well as Paradise City. Vids are you know where.

  • thirdtime

I just now saw this conversation about James’ new music and thought I would chime in. I love his new stuff so far. I watched the videos here and by far my favorites are Louder Than A Loaded Gun and Get Over Yourself. I’m also liking the band like this too, and I think the new bass player is fantastic. The band now seems to have a younger, more updated feel to it. I don’t know how old the two band members were that left, but they both looked much older than James and also had an old style. This bass player brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm – the way he was jumping around in this video http://youtu.be/Q30KZuPI0sc was so much fun. A year ago James and the whole band looked like they stepped out of the 80s and the two guitarists were whipping their long hair around while they were singing Love Me Bad (ugh) – everything now is much, much better in my opinion.

  • irockhard

Dylan is only a year older than James apparently, while Ty is about 30/31. Actually Jeff is older than all of them, he’s 43. James looks very young for his age.

  • HMc

I agree James looks young for his age :) but Dylan is 27 now, he is 3 years older than James. They both have birthdays about the same time so I think they are both in January. Last year Dylan responded to a fan that he had just turned 26.
