As we head into the American Idol finale week, more information is being revealed about the two night extravaganza. People magazine spoke exclusively with Top 3 contestant, Nick Fradiani.  His performance last week of Andy Grammer’s “Back Home” was such a hit, that Andy will join Nick on stage at Wednesday’s grand finale to perform a reprise of “Back Home” plus a performance of Andy’s latest single “Honey, I’m Good”.

No word on who Clark Beckham’s duet partner will be, but we learned during an Idol broadcast a few weeks ago that Jax is pairing up with former Idol judge, Steven Tyler. He also happens to be a new name on the roster of mentor, Scott Borchetta’s, Big Machine Label group.

Wednesday’s final episode will have performances from Idol Judge Keith Urban, along with fellow judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr., Chris Brown, Echosmith, Fall Out Boy, Jamie Foxx, The Jacksons, Vance Joy, Ricky Martin, Michael McDonald, Janelle Monáe, New Kids On The Block, Pitbull, Nile Rodgers, Prince Royce, Steven Tyler and more, before host Ryan Seacrest announces the results of America’s votes and the next Idol is crowned.

As far as Tuesday night’s performance final is concerned, there continue to be conflicting details on how things will go down. FOX told me on Friday that a contestant will be eliminated, leaving the Top TWO to perform 3 songs each–basically what the official press release said. However, Nick said in a radio interview with Connecticut’s 105.9, The River, on Friday that, “Tuesday, all 3 of us will perform. The final two will be picked out at the end of the night.” Nine songs in one hour, plus an elimination makes for a pretty busy episode. However, in the early days of Idol, they managed to cram 8 performances into an hour-long show. I will continue my quest to confirm exact details, so stay tuned for updates!

UPDATE: Nick was a little confused. Scott Borchetta tweets that only the Top 2 will perform on Tuesday.

In The River interview, Nick states that each contestant will sing 3 songs:

1. Coronation Song
2. Repeat song
3. *Song never sung before on the show
*According to a tweet from Jax it is a pick from Simon Fuller

As far as the coronation songs are concerned,  Nick, Clark and Jax all recorded their singles on Thursday.  The singers dished on their songs to HGNG.com

“I really love the lyrics and I’m really looking forward to putting all I’ve got into it,” said Clark, about his song titled “Champion.”

“The song is really good and sounds like a cross between Fun and The Goo Goo Dolls,”  Nick said. ” It’s big and really does sound like me.” He also told the River that the song is very similar to the stuff he did with his band, Beach Avenue.

“I love it! I’m excited for it,” Jax said, ” It’s very Jax and like an anthem. It’s like an empowering chick-anthem with a message of don’t mess with me.”

The Top 3, Nick Fradiani,  Clark Beckham, and Jax, will find out who has made it into the Final 2 on *Tuesday, May 12 at 9/8c PM and the winner of Season 14 will be announced Wednesday, May 13 at 8/7c PM.

*Note that American Idol will air at  9 PM on Tuesday! Some sites are incorrectly posting the time as 8/7c. Idol WILL NOT be competing with The Voice or DWTS results shows on Tuesday, which both air at 8/7c pm.
