Watch a sneak peek from this Wednesday’s American Idol auditions in Minneapolis! First, seventeen year old,Shannon Berthiaume, of St Paul is TERRIFIED of the judges! You can literally see it in her face. They tell her not to be scared! “We’re not so bad!” says Harry Connick Jr, while fellow judges, Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez agree.
Once Shannon opens her mouth to sing, however, she BELTS OUT a rendition of the American blues classic “House of the Rising Sun.” And when I say belt? That’s really an understatement.

A trio of hopefuls, including Morgan Ovens, Gabrielle Noe’l and Courtney Guns audition.
The first singer, Morgan, sings “Hand in Pocket” by Alanis Morissette and admits that she has no Plan B. Neither did the judges really!
Gabrielle performs a soulful rendition of “Lovesong” by The Cure. She admits she works in an office, but would much rather B singing. Jennifer shares that she worked in a law office while she was still struggling. Her boss suggested that she show up for work occasionally–and that was the end of that!
Courtney has a rather..aggressive approach as she tries to impress the judges during a performance of “Independence Day” by Martina McBride. “Can you do a third song sitting on Harry?” asks Keith.
American Idol Minneapolis auditions air on Wednesday, January 21 at 8/7c PM on FOX! New Orleans auditions air Thursday January 22 at 8/7c pm.
