The poll results were not surprising. And I suspect Thursday’s results won’t be either. Nigel Lythgoe tweeted earlier today, “I totally agree 100% with America’s vote on #americanidol last night. The top 5 girls are all amazing.”
Angela Miller and her cover of Colton Dixon’s “Never Gone” take 1st place with 27.15% of the vote. If Angela wins the competition, she’ll be the first to hail from the North East. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t think she’ll win, ultimately, but you never know.

In second place is Kree Harrison with 21% of the vote. Here’s her glorious cover of Faith Hill’s “Stronger”. I SUPERVOTED for Kree!

In third place, with 19.41% of the vote is Candice Glover. I could watch her cover of John Legend’s “Ordinary People” again and again, couldn’t you? Check it out.

Amber Holcomb is in 4th place with 18.67% of the vote. She sure didn’t make a mess of Whitney, to say the least. Nicki told her Barbz to vote for Amber. Maybe they’ll put her over the top.

And Janelle Arthur comes in a distant 5th with 4.53% of the vote. Angie, Kree and Candice are a lock for the Top 10. Amber is a probably. Janelle has a good chance–fans remember her from last year and she probably has a decent southern base. I’d like to see one of the pop girls make the cut. Breanna Steer is my pick for that fifth spot. She came in a close 7th behind Adriana Latonio. It could happen.
The judges’ poll is becoming predictable. Here is how it shook out: Keith $2.97%, Mariah 30.29%, Nicki 24.63% and Randy a distant 4th with 2.11%. I’m still Team Nicki. And Team Keith, but he’s got to toughen up his critiques.
