As always I’ll tune in once its the Top 12; normally I just read comments about the earlier stages and check out on you-tube if there’s someone everyone is spazzing about during the earlier rounds.

Earlier seasons I was pretty much more excited searching for spoilers even before the show starts; but now the excitement had dulled tremendously for me.

Just because someone can sing loud doesn’t mean they have “it.” lol This does look like it’s going to be a fun season!

Ah I love Idol in all its forms and incarnations. I might not love every Idol or every judge or every tweak they make, but it’s still my favorite show so I will cop to being an Idolbert and enjoy it! And since I’m a huge Keith fan, I will look forward to seeing and hearing him every time. I’m cool with Mariah. Nicki, jury is out. Randy, yeah, he’s pretty useless as most of us agree. For me, it’s always been about the contestants, so I look forward to finding my favorites this year.

Um, I would love to look as “awful” as Mariah, LOL.

I only record and watch the auditions for the people I know are in the top 40-don’t really watch live until Hollywood week.

  • Incipit

Well, I’ve been watching sporadically since Season 7, and I’ve learned to wait until they get to the Top 12 – then I Retro-view just their auditions, skipping all the Sob Stories and Drama Rama and especially the parade of people TPTB never meant to chose. I’m interested because I first saw DC in the auditions, but I don’t expect Lightning to strike again…and I’m not wading through all that.

There are great recaps here at mj’s – I’ll have a heads up if there is someone to take more seriously early on.

The Fact is, both “Suits” and “Justified” have new episodes tonight, and I ‘know’ I will enjoy watching those more than whatever Warwick (with his barf bags) considers entertainment, if he is still the Producer for the auditions…and even if he isn’t. IMO.

    Happy American Idol Day everybody!

I’m ready. I already love Keith and this’ll be the 1st season of Idol where I’m invested in 1 of the judges. But I’ll still need Idol to nail it in terms of the talent and diversity of contestants.

I tuned out 99% of the feud stuff but I enjoyed Nicki’s Leno interview. The reviews have me hopeful that she’ll actually bring something fresh and welcome to the table not only to the taped rounds where it’s easier but to the live shows.

I have to confess, I’m excited for tonight.  Mainly because of Nicki Minaj.  Not because of the feud, but because she’s fun to look at, is reported to be a good judge, and, so far, she’s unpredictable.

I’m not worried that the judges will overshadow the contestants.  That does happen on the other two shows, but American Idol still does get the best talent (at least the best raw talent). I don’t see that changing any time soon.
