American Idol 12 Chicago Auditions: Which Former Hopefuls are Back for More?

American Idol hopefuls begin lining up in New Orleans today to register for auditions set to take place on Tuesday July 17.

Last Thursday, 9,000 hopefuls lined up to audition for American Idol. Season 10 alum, Haley Reinhart was there to give host Ryan Seacrest a hand and encourage the kids waiting in line. Ironically, Haley auditioned in Chicago in Season 9 and was turned down. She passed the following season in Milwaukee, and the rest is history as it were!

“We can tell who’s got potential from hearing them and looking at them in about 20 seconds,” Ryan said of the potential auditioners.

I’m hearing that Season 11 contenders, Johnny Keyser (tragically cut in Las Vegas) and Richie Law (Heejun Han nemesis cut at the Top 40) both auditioned and made it through.

Also, I have a correction to make. The Shelby who auditioned for X Factor is NOT Shelby Tweten, who auditioned in Aspen last year (she sang to work through her bi-polar disorder).  She auditioned for Idol in Chicago last week and made it through to the next round.

    Cute, male, white, plays an instrument, I think he’s from the south too, although I may be wrong about that one. He will have also learned no doubt from last year, how to play the Idol game and turn on the charm.
    Not saying I agree, just saying he fits the profile. 
    If he gets to the voting rounds, I guess we’ll see.

    JohnnyK is too arrogant to be able to play humble and nice for a whole season even if he tried. If he tries, I give him a couple of weeks top before he drops the act and his dbaggery becomes obvious.

     The instruments have nothing to do with their wins. And he’s from Florida, not sure that fits the south.

    Last I looked, Florida was definitely in the South :)

    From what I know about that state, parts of would be considered more stereotypically “Southern” than other parts of it.

    You’re 100% right. See his channel on YT. He tries to play the nice persona but ocasionally goes back to the arrogant nature. He’s a little bit effeminate too. Not the typical winner, even with a guitar, but he would make the tour for sure if he made Top 24.

    I originally got excited that Richie Law would be back.  Then, considerably less so, as I remembered Heejun wouldn’t be returning. :)

    Ugh yourself.  He’s in the paper all the time doing charity events out here in CO.  Idol absolutely stinks for portraying him as cocky.  It’s Idol that’s fallen off their high horse, not The Cowboy. Rock on Richie!!!  Please don’t go back to IDOL!!!!!!!!They don’t deserve you.
