I’m surprised that she wasn’t released a single. Bad song never was the reason for the release.

There could have still be a “Home.” Someone else might have recorded it. P2 didn’t write it.

Not a fan, but I consider Constantine one of Idol’s biggest success stories.  He’s an established and Tony nominated Broadway actor.  Unfortunatly, (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), he, like other successes, i.e., Taylor, didn’t make “their” perception of success list, so they constantly get shunned.  It’s not reality though.  Their list has a very confined definition and has for 11 seasons.

Don’t you mean 7? Taylor Hicks is also a WGWG.

If what you say is true, that is two more superstars than anyone else has created from these shows. :p

While not exactly “superstars” Idol HAS launched many successful careers, even if some haven’t been able to hold on to singing careers(which is actually normal in the industry). We got Tony nominated people and successful Broadway actors (Constantine and Diana DeGarmo), Successful songwriters (Chris Sligh and Ace Young, who was grammy nominated for his songwriting), an Oscar and grammy winner, Jennifer Hudson, as well as artists who have carved out good country careers (Kellie, Josh Gracin, Scotty), a TV star, Katherine McPhee. Mandisa was nominated for a grammy and has a successful Gospel/Christian career, Fantasia has been successful in the Urban genre and is a grammy winner. I could go on.

Oops. It seems like I forgot people. There is Kelly, Carrie and Chris, too ;)

I agree. (I thought that a poster was mistaken in thinking that Constantine was in the video promo, but she was writing about the People list).

He’s more like a WGWH (white guy with harmonica ;))

Fantasia is on the list. Read my post again. She’s between Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler.

Do you have a link to or scan of the People’s list? Im really interested in reading it. :)

No Season 2 love? Considering that season was the water cooler topic of  2003 it’s a real slight.

I got the list from the special edition “American Idol: Where Are They Now?” People magazine, so the whole edition may be available to read on their website. I’m sorry, I don’t know where else it would be. You could try looking for a paper copy of the magazine; I found it really interesting, and it talked about what all 120 of them from Seasons 1-10 have been up to. Only a select few have put music on the back burner; the majority of them are still hard at work on it.

     Thanks LeahkittyS!

So, no Lee, no Taylor, and no Ruben

Thanks for the link. As far as I can tell People didn’t explicitly say that they deemed those people the top Twelve Idols or the ultimate Idols. It was just a list entitled the Idol Rich and they didn’t make any qualitative statements about them as a group at all. Mind you, the link didn’t have all the pages, but perhaps I’m missing part of the article.

    Thanks, Anny_nanny!

That was fun – the “Look Inside” feature has a Search Inside This Book – but typing any name in it also got all sorts of pages with lots of pictures and a Table of Contents, full of things that Idol ‘could’ highlight in their ads – and probably won’t – and some things Idol won’t ever mention. That “Idol Rich” is just one chapter.
