Listen below:

American Idol 12 Top 4 Redux Album

Angela Miller – “Diamonds” – Download at iTunes – The recorded version has a bit of a different flavor to it. If you are a fan of the original song, you may not like the phrasing or the hypnotic melody.

Amber Holcomb – “Just Give Me A Reason”  – Download at iTunes – This isn’t working for me at all. If you asked Amber what the word of this song meant, she’d probably answer with something like “Well there’s a girl…and her boyfriend has dreams and stuff.”

Candice Glover – “When I Was Your Man”  – Download at iTunes – Not as powerful as her live performance, but her vocal is still enthralling.

Kree Harrison – “See You Again”   – Download at iTunes –  The dreaded oh ohs are in full force here. Nevertheless, Kree’s intimate vocal is touching, and emotional without needing to bring those big moments the Idol stage demands.

Angela Miller – “Someone to Watch Over Me”  – Download at iTunes – Wow. The instrumental arrangement is so busy, that for a second I thought I had another you tube song running.  Her vocal barely makes it above the din.

Amber Holcomb – “My Funny Valentine”  – Download at iTunes – If Harry Connick Jr. didn’t like Amber’s live performance of this standard, he’d HATE the recorded version. Runs and vocal adlibs galore. It actually is too much here.

Candice Glover – “ You’ve Changed”  – Download at iTunes – A lovely, jazzy  vocal performance from Candice. I like. The last 3rd of the song is simply amazing.

Kree Harrison – “Stormy Weather”  – Download at iTunes –  I love Kree, but I’m not feeling this song. Even on the recorded version, she seems disconnected.
