Rolling in the Deep was the high note….then the show veered off into a sea of oversinging and off-keyness.

  • Anonymous

P2′s In the Midnight Hour was my fave of the night!

  • Anonymous

Skylar had the two best performances, but overall it was another good night.

  • Anonymous

Good Idea MJ. I like that there is a separate poll for performances.

Honestly, everyone did well overall. The only WTF moment for me is when Colton completely changed the EWF song…it was TOO different for my taste.

  • Stavros

Considering Elise was directly run over by the bus, then the bus backed up and ran over her again, and then let her crawl to out of the street and just as she almost made it ran over her again, I’m not so sure how she’ll fare with tonight’s vote.

  • http://twitter.com/GottaVote4DREW Ryan

hollie slayed rolling in the deep. so much so i think she wont even be B3 tomorrow

  • Stavros

I geniunely believe Skylar is this season’s Most Improved hands down.  She’s growing and peaking at the most perfect rate possible.  With two very early performance slots last week while being praised, to be safe was against the odds, and she pulled it off.  She can win this thing…

OK GUYS, I HAVE A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: I have given in to Uncle Nigel’s manipulation and will be voting for the 1st time since Season 2! LOL!

I’m soooo glad I have AT&T…this text voting method seems so much easier than the stress I use to receive from phone voting. :P

Please don’t feel safe about Hollie performance tonight..
    keep on voting on her..
    Vote for jessica too..

    HOLLIE 1-866-436-5701
    JESSICA 1-866-436-5705

I really haven’t found anyone I feel like wasting time voting on this year.  Not that they are bad, but not one of them seem to be an artist whose music I would buy.

  • Anonymous

Round one for me was Hollie And Jessica, Round two….Joshua and Philip

  • Anonymous

I loved Skyars first but did not like second at all

  • Anonymous

Loved, Loved Joshuas second but first round went to all the girls

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PSV6NGQFZRFUMVOJFN7GQ4LYQY Margaret Feeney

Hollie has such an awesome voice, her voice is strong without shouting & over singing. She is so gorgeous & so adorable.
Joshua is the so deserving to win..so humble & his grin & large doe eyes make him so precious!

  • Anonymous

Tonight was the first night I voted for Hollie! I made an awful face when I heard she was singing “Rolling in the Deep”, because all I thought was harsh Adele-comparison criticism in the death spot. But no, it was freakin’ great!

I had a hard time picking a fave though, because at this point, I actually like something about everybody…except Phillip Phillips. I want his awkward, growl-yelling, one-dynamic, chicken-dancing butt gone. I know it won’t happen, but oh well :-)

  • Anonymous

My two favorites tonight too, Margaret, Hollie round one and Josh round two

  • Anonymous

I voted for Joshua’s A Change is Gonna Come. I must say though, I really, really liked Colton’s re-arrangement of September. I’m listening to the studio version now and I just really love it.

  • Anonymous

Whether one likes him or not, P2 is the only one with some raw excitement.  The others are, at this time in their careers, forgettable.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cassie-Dunn/616110023 Cassie Dunn

    I may be the minority but I enjoyed Colton’s 2nd song…

  • http://twitter.com/lufflyness Jenna

Overall I was really impressed by the night, very solid performances. I am so proud of Hollie for rising to the occasion this week though, I knew she had it in her!

Low points for me were Colton’s performances. Bad Romance was a bit of a mess, and I did not appreciate his re-interpretation of September.

  • Anonymous

Hollie was my favorite tonight.  Jessica seems scared.  The harder she tries, the worse it gets.

  • Anonymous

Colton was terrible…. he has the worst performances of all of them combined all season.

  • idolstruck

Since day 1, my favorite is Phillip. I’m still hoping for a Phillip-Elise finale….

  • http://twitter.com/bignliddle BigNLiddle

I loved his second performance! I thought he made it a lot more current sounding…could hear it on the radio or something to that level. (don’t hit me :D)

  • Anonymous

That was my favorite performance!  Loved the arrangement, loved the staging.

  • Stavros

TEAM HOLLIE!! Rolling In the Deep is the highest voted performance! And Hollie, Jessica, and Phillip are taking turns as the best contestant left, nice choices based off of tonight! Skylar is also a force to be reckoned with.

  • Anonymous

P2 is really boring for me. I liked the Usher song, but that doesn’t make up for all the other performances of his that sound the same for me. IMO he’s one of the least exciting contestants.

  • Anonymous

Hollie has some people.  She’s certainly become the Haley of this season.

  • http://twitter.com/Ngarcia3 N

They all did good. I think Jessica was the most bland. She will be safe this week but I predict b3 next week. She is just not as good as the judges critique’s and this is hurting her because its getting people like me annoyed with her.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cassie-Dunn/616110023 Cassie Dunn

Listening to the studio version now and it’s great!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OSOOTOBRL4XGHQNICOXCCN5IXQ lisa

Hollie def the best!!!!someone please tell Skylar to quit screaming her songs.
Jessica does absolutely nothing for me with her singing.Phillip once again you sound the same everytime you sing.and those facial expressions make you look like a physco!sorry would not listen to you on free radio let alone buy an album.
Josh was absolutely awesome!hate that word but I can’t think of another word to replace it with.same goes for Hollie on either songs tonite my 2 favs

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1017520006 Adam Alamillo

    Don’t think that. Vote :P

  • Anonymous

Skylar kicked butt tonight, and I am saying that as someone who dislikes country music.

  • dishwalla

Phillip Phillips own the night.  This is kind of music I can see him making.

  • http://twitter.com/GottaVote4DREW Ryan

trust me im voting my fingers off. i wont get complacent. i just dont think she will be B3. but i will send in my normal 1000 votes. (i REALLY love hollie!!!)

  • Anonymous

I think the worse of the night was Colton , nothing personal, but his performances tonight were pretty meh :/ and Elise , JLo was right about her lack of emotions and connection , but Elise said something true about how many times they still to much focus on to hit the right notes and just keep going with the technical part of the song …. i totally guess that is her problem.
Sweet Hollie did a very good comeback , i tired too of all the Adele covers, but she actually did Great! with RITD, the second one was less intense but enough to save the night for her.
Jessica, idk what to say , her AK song was very good, but very Alicia and  something was missed and don’t like her second one :(
Joshua was good like usual , but he really need to tone down the screaming part in all his performances , sometimes less and soft is better :)
Skylar is so much fun to see, is my personal country favorite in idol all seasons, just because she always sing with conviction and energy delivering very well the emotions she feels singing the song ….i think she is the one who improve the most in this season ….. until now.
And PP ….. well i actually like him tonight , more that the previous episodes at least.

  • rocklet1

Allison Iraheta did a better job then hollie.. on son of a preacher  http://youtu.be/EZj1gmY4A3g

  • Anonymous

Disagree – IMO he’s the only one who’s has any real excitement at all – the only one with even an iota of originality.

  • http://www.realitywithoutapologies.blogspot.com/ lisakn

Yea, I voted for Elise too. Maybe I’m in denial, but I don’t think she’s going home. Hope not yet anyway.

  • Anonymous

Phillip, Skylar and Hollie all three best of the night.  Jessica is forgettable – boring and no spark and Joshua just doesn’t do it for me.

  • Carriefan1

    1st Performance:

    Hollie = A
    Jessica = A-
    Elise = B+
    Joshua = B+
    Phillip = B+
    Colton = B
    Skylar = B-

    2nd Performance:

    Colton = A
    Hollie = A-
    Joshua = A-
    Jessica = B
    Phillip = B
    Skylar = B
    Elise = C+

  • Anonymous

I think I know the secret to Hollie tonight – she’s been singing both those songs FOREVER.  Not that this is bad, I’m just saying that she could relax and not worry about forgetting words or when the music kicked in.  It’s a lack of experience, definitely.

Joshua is a talented vocalist – but I could never listen to a whole album of him.

How can none of them go!?  That makes no freakin’ sense JLo!

  • Anonymous

I actually think Hollie and Skylar moved me more than Jessica tonight.

  • Anonymous

Colton is the weakest singer.  His voice is so thin. He should be gone.  He reminds me of a James and Adam wannabe.

  • Anonymous

I thought Hollie showed enough spark to keep her out of the bottom three. For once she was really in her body and not her head. But I loved P2 first round. The music is so in him – and I couldn’t help myself but to dance. Second round, still liked P2 and dang – Joshua deserves to stay in this competition. I was most looking forward to Colton tonight. He wasn’t bad, but he seemed so strained. I didn’t enjoy watching or listening to him tonight and I think he was great last week. I think that is what I found so enjoyable about P2, he just grooves to the music, it’s in him, not his head, and I feel it too. His voice isn’t as good as say a Jessica, but I just felt it tonight when he sang and moved.

  • Anonymous

Colton gets like a D— from me. He was awful.

  • Anonymous

Annnd, for the 4th or 5th week in a row, I’ve voted for a different person than I did the week before (Jessica (for the first time) this week, Joshua last week, and I’ve voted for Skylar and Elise in the past.

This is an interesting, well-balanced season. Makes it more fun when I actually want to listen to all the performances (instead of listening to 1 or 2 and muting the rest, which is the way seasons 8-10 went for me).

  • Anonymous

    First performance:
    Hollie – A
    Colton – C-
    Elise – D+
    Phillip – C+
    Jessica – B+
    Skylar – C
    Joshua – B

    Second performance:
    Hollie – A

    Colton – C-

    Elise – D

    Phillip – C

    Jessica – C

    Skylar – C

    Joshua – A-

Hollie was the best by a wide margin for me, followed by Joshua and Skylar.

  • http://twitter.com/billschly Bill Schly

Actually, it does make freakin’ sense that JLo doesn’t want any of them to go.  I don’t want any of them to go either.  She doesn’t mean that it is going to happen that way.  She means that she likes all seven of them and would like to keep listening to them sing.  Don’t take it so literal.

  • Anonymous

My favorite is Kris Allen tonight for sure <33, but I will throw some votes to Hollie and I guess some to Skylar.

  • Reflections On Life

One of the best night of performances ever, especially at this stage with so many still left.  Just so happy to have such a great season of singing!

Contrary to most, I actually liked Colton tonight, incl his EWF September, and I’m a huge EWF fan.  It sounded a bit like he was modeling his performance after Taylor Swift’s Back to December, including the staging/props/lighting.  He probably gained EWF a new generation of listeners!  And I loved Skylar’s take on HITTGV.  Love that she sang the Gladys Night & the Pips version and not the better-known Motown/Gaye version.  Skylar’s like Miranda by way of Wynnona.  And liked P2′s second performance better than his first; the song & performance njust was a more natural fit for him, plus it made him actually perform a bit.  Loved Jessica’s 2nd performance; for once she wasn’t mimicking anyone, and like the new added flava.  The weakest performance of the night was probably Holly’s 2nd (she brought no nuance or dynamics to it, so I couldn’t tell what she was singing about without already knowing the song), but even that was enjoyable.

Joshua’s first performance was the best of the night.

Hollie probably saved herself with a competent but not great performance of the Adele song–if voters can forget her mediocre second song.  Her bar was so low, though, that she only needed a double, not a home run, to impress the already uncritical judges.

Jessica has a great voice but lacks the life experience she needs to give her vocal interpretations depth and feeling.

Philip was OK on the first song, but I didn’t care for his second song.  Same thing for Skyler.

Elise sounded great but not awesome on her first song.  Not so sure the second song was the best choice for this night, this show, this audience.

Colton was the Emperor With No Clothes tonight; his second song was awful.

He and Elise are probably bound for the bottom.  Jessica might join them. Maybe Joshua–but he doesn’t belong there.

  • http://twitter.com/billschly Bill Schly

For those of you who are so sure that contestant #3 is going home, I have gotten more busy signals voting for her tonight than ever before. It is about 30% busy signals, and the show has been over for 40 minutes. Somebody besides me is voting for Elise, and here I was thinking that I had to keep her in the competition all by myself.

  • Anonymous

I’m so tired of people covering Adele, but I thought Hollie was good on that. I didn’t really love any of the performances tonight. The only one I hated was Colton’s mangling of the Earth Wind & Fire song. Otherwise, they were all ok. But nothing really stood out to me other than Hollie finally letting loose a little bit.

  • Anonymous

Elise fans, can anyone tell me what type of artist she is? So far she has been singing a variety of songs..even during current themes. Does she have originals? Maybe she has spent too long covering songs with her band that she doesn’t know how to do anything else but sing her favorite songs. I love her but she seems to be all over the place….just looking for the connection, thats all.

  • Anonymous

LOVED Skylar, Hollie, and Jessica. Elise kind of disappointed me tonight and I was expecting more from Josh with “A Change Is Gonna Come.” I enjoyed Phillip’s Usher performance-and I’m normally not a huge fan of him! Honestly, after tonight, Colton probably should go home. But he won’t even touch the bottom 3.

Overall, another good night! These kids are talented. I promised myself this week that I was only going to vote for Jessica, but I have to give some votes to Skylar also. Anybody voting for Jessica noticing busy signals?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/GED45R7LV4QERBS74RT6INK65I fed

Colton should go based on the fact that he turned “September” into a freaking funeral dirge.

  • Carriefan1

I thought his version and new arrangement was fantastic. When they announced he was singing this song I felt worried because all I could think about was Anwar’s cheesy version of it way back in Carrie’s season. Colton’s version took me for a loop and I loved every second of it!

  • Tera2

Both Jessica’s performances were my favorites. She showed emotion and passion in both and she had that soulful growl in “Try a little tenderness” like Kelly Clarkson.  I also like Colton’s interpretation of “September” and I liked the cool beats he used. (and I usually don’t like when contestants change melodies like Phillip tend to do)  I’m so tired of that Adele’s song Hollie did but she was good enough – I didnt care much for the ending though.

  • judes

Carriefan -yes September can easily sound cheesy & karaoke .At least you can’t say Colton’s performance was karaoke .It was different & you either like his style or you don’t.

  • Anonymous

Count me as one who doesn’t like his style, especially when he is destroying a great EWF song.  The better decision would have been if he picked something else. There was a wealth of material in the previous decades of soul music.  EWF as emo? The worst of the night by a mile.
I still have a headache from listening to that. These are songs that I know from my life and they mean something to me. I don’t like to see them butchered in some cases.  I actually liked the first half of the show much better.

Something was off with Jessica tonight. She didn’t move me with either of her performances. She always sings well, but the connection just was not there and I really did not like that messed up version of “Try a Little Tenderness”. They have to make up their mind with the arrangement. First it was slow, then it was fast. I think that Jessica was just trying too hard and feeling the pressure after being saved.

All anyone has to do is listen to the original Sam Cooke version of “A Change is Gonna Come” and the difference will be obvious. That caterwauling and screaming was an insult to an iconic song. And I am speaking as someone who likes Joshua. It takes a lot to turn me off, but tonight did it  First a Fantasia crowning song that I never liked and then ruining the last song from my personal idol of all time.

Colton should be in the bottom three, but it won’t happen.  It really was quite interesting to see the judges stand up for Phil’s first performance. The guy has had two crappy weeks of performance and finally did something decent and it’s like he invented gravity. I liked it, but standing “o”? Please!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/5Y6WQETDKRQINNDVQIIT4BFDOY NFLRocks

If people were just tuning in today, and do not live in an Idol bubble where they compare every performance to a former Idol…Colton was THE WORST.  Neither of his songs were good today.  At all.  Jessica sang with her usual precision, which I dare say showed a heck of a lot more feeling than I’ve seen her sing in awhile.  There is nothing like facing the gallows that makes one sing for one’s supper like there is no tomorrow.  I am tickled that Hollie seemed to have found some swagger, and actually am glad that Elise called the judges on their contradictory critiques.  Exactly WHAT does JLo mean by emotion?  If she means shaking your booty on stage, I think she needs to learn that not every female singer needs to come out trying to convince the World that she is the sexiest being on Earth.  I’m sure Elise may be in the B3, which is sads for me.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/NGUWS72LAGLZQ3BDFVZMBG44TY Abdulla Mohammed

well, that was pretty obvious! :)  Goodluck!
    Go Colton!

  • Karen C

I liked Colton’s version of Septemeber, also.  IMO, he took a very 80′s sounding song and modernized it.  I thought it sounded like it could have been a One Republic song, which is very current.  I really liked his version of Bad Romance, really like it better as a rock song.

  • http://www.facebook.com/michaelnsync Michael Reid

The Studio version of Rolling in the Deep from Hollie is her best recording by far, in my opinion. you need to listen to it if u havent already

  • http://twitter.com/KariannHart Kariann Hart

All anyone has to do is listen to the original Sam Cooke version of “A Change is Gonna Come” and the difference will be obvious. That caterwauling and screaming was an insult to an iconic song.

Nativenewyorker, you hit it on the nail!  That was the worse performance of the night.  I wonder if Joshua even heard Sam Cooke’s version?  Why didn’t Jimmy tell him how the song should be sung?  I immediately went to YouTube so I could hear some perfection and passion.  None of that screaming stuff which ruined the song.

Jessica is trying with all her heart.  I realize she may not make TOP 3, but I hope she makes TOP 5.  I did some voting tonight.

  • http://twitter.com/aizjanika aizjanika

I think Phillip had my favorite performance of the night with In the Midnight Hour, but I thought his first song was a little boring. Hollie was fantastic during both performances, but especially Rolling in the Deep. I thought I was sick of that song, but I enjoyed it. I thought Skylar also had two good performances.

Elise is one of my favorites, and I think she performed well both times, but I didn’t like her song choices. I wouldn’t be surprised if she were going home today, though I’d be sad to see her go. She’s my favorite of the girls.

I have not been a Colton fan, even though I liked his performance last week and especially liked his studio version. This week, though,  I really liked both performances, especially the first one. It was a little weird, but in a very good way. I’m still not voting for him, but I liked it. I liked the red streak in his hair, too.

I voted for Phillip, Elise, and Hollie.

  • Anonymous

For me the worst of the night was Colton, but he has been fairly good so far so he shouldn’t go.
Elise was the second from the bottom for me. She is supposedly a singer-songwriter but she has yet to demonstrate her ‘artistry’, and she should have been able to flip a song like ‘Let’s Get It On’ and make it her own. And her phrasing is flat and terrible.
Skylar was back to her shouty self, which is a shame because she started to grow on me.
Phillip delivered the same song whilst vomiting again.
Jessica screamed her way through the songs, and for comparison sake, here’s a good performance of Fallin on the UK X Factor
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhH8uGkIPEQ
Hollie still lacks punch and Joshua is too gospel, but overall they have were decent.

I am wondering who is marketable in this lot, or if we should call this Season 9 redux!!!

  • Anonymous

There is no doubt Skylar is marketable.  I think Phil Phils is marketable.  Uptempo Joshua with original material is marketable.  Hollie singing young pop could be marketable–her pure voice plus innocent personality should sell with the right material.
Colton, Elise and Jessica are the ones I wouldn’t know what to to with but I think Jimmy knows what he wants to do with Jessica so it looks like she will definitely get a deal.
That leaves Colton and Elise and I think they should be the next two to leave the show.

  • Qar

I’m sick and tired of “critics” here saying that Jessica lacks “feeling” and “experience” or “connection” then after that, these “critics” are praising, Hollie, Colton, Philipp and Skylar? REALLY? REALLY? Haha, all you people criticizing Jessica always entertain me, and I can’t stop laughing soo hard because it clearly shows that Jessica is the best singer, and you all just threatened! Duhh

  • http://twitter.com/poppetawoppet Emily

hmmm since everyone’s performances were in the C+ to B+ range for me, I’ll go by song choice

    Hollie: A/A
Colton: A/C- (did he even read the lyrics of September?)
    Elise: C/B-
    Phillip: A/ B-
Jessica:  C- (Fallin is in no way appropriate for someone her age)/ B
Skylar: A/ B (given that she was at a disadvantage for round 2 I’ll give her credit for trying)
    Joshua: F/ A

so if I were to base my bottom three on song choice alone: Joshua, Jessica and Elise. If I were to base it on song choice plus performance, Joshua, Phillip and Colton. If I were to base it on typical voting patterns, Hollie, Elise and Skylar.

  • http://twitter.com/AlesHutapea Alessandro Hutapea

    PERFORMANCE(FROM BEST TO WORST)
    1.Hollie Cavanagh

    5.Colton Dixon
    6.Elise Testone
    7.Joshua Ledet

Colton was awful this week, especially the last performance. He should go home but I have resigned myself to the fact that no matter what happens we’re getting a Colton-Phillip finale.

The best three this week were Skylar, Phillip and Hollie.

Jessica’s in the middle, and the bottom three are Joshua, Colton and Elise.

I bet we have the same exact bottom three as we did last week, and Elise goes home.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=609598493 Aunt Debbie

Well, Hollie got my vote for tonight. She was so good.

I did like Jessica in the beginning until the week she proclaimed that her alter ego, JJ Chez was singing. That just turned me off completely. Sorry girl, too new in the game to have an alter ego.

  • Anonymous

That show was a train wreck. I hate watching performances where the contestants are uncomfortable (Colton). Jessica was pitchy and shouted. She was nervous. Hollie came back from the brink and was the best for me. Just when I thought P2 was going to come out of his dave matthws wanna be slump the 2nd song put him back in. He has his niche and he isn’t much good in anything else. Plus the judges keep talking about what they saw during Hollywood week. WTF is that? Maybe they need to show us the footage. This show never quite redeems itself for me.Steven Tyler makes these awful screwed up stank faces that make me want to shut off the TV. These are talented kids that somehow don’t quite show their talent. Oh, and I’ve had enough of Joshua and his “going to church”. They need to figure out a way to mentor these kids to “current”… Oh Jimmy and Nigel… better genres might help….

  • RockiDreams

I enjoyed Hollie last night and Phil – he is by far the most interesting.  I like Colton but I think it was an off night for him.  The rest were awful – just crank Joshua up mid-song and he does the same old crap.  I could be wrong but I thought Jessica forgot some words in the second song and I don’t feel like she has a clue emotionally to a song hence robot.  Elise?  I don’t get her and for the life of me could not figure out what the hell about her performance would induce “goosies.”  Maybe the wind machine was hitting JLo as well.   Listened to the recorded versions and still won’t buy a thing but Phil enticed me to actually listen to them.

  • Anonymous

Have you ever called a male contestant a robot? I see that label thrown at the women all the time but I’ve never seen a male contestant called that. Men get to be lots of things, but it seems like women frequently get slotted into bitch/robot/slut.

  • Anonymous

Jessica was odd to me:  she looked like she was pouring passion into the performance, but as soon as the song ended she shut it down – way too quickly – so it gave the appearance of feigning emotion.  I didn’t believe her singing her songs, but I might have if she hadn’t lost the feeling so fast.

  • Anonymous

I also get the feeling she has covered a lot over time.

    Best to Worst for me:

    1. Hollie
    2. Phil
    3. Joshua
    4. Elise
    5. Skylar
    6. Jessica
    7. Colton

By reading the comments here (and seeing the LOW ratings in WhatNotToSing.com) I might say what a weird night for the Idolsphere. I thought it was one of the MOST ENTERTAINING (or at least, vocally entertaining) night in all of the seasons I watched (8 – 11). No one was really a dud, I think that except for “Let’s Get It On”,”I Heard It Through the Grapevine” (possibly because of the song itself),”September” (but the “modernizing” of it was interesting) and “Son of a Preacher Man” (sounds good though, wished added a little more soul into it), I think they all deserve at least a B+ for me. I can’t believe as of time of writing that this night is the 2nd least rated show this season (and “September” deserves at least a 40 in WNTS IMO), when this perf. night is really a make or break, not knowing who would go out night (guess it would be Elise though based on trends and her performances tonight, particularly the 2nd one).

I think I will put my seemingly unpopular opinions here:

    1. Even though she did put her feeling in RITD (she really poured it out), I think vocally it was just OK, and maybe is a 60-70 for me (and Haley’s rating is lower for hers is quite wrong IMO).

    2. As it was a wrong move for Jessica to have a ballad the 1st and a semi-ballad at the 2nd (wished she chose uptempo for the 1st song), I think she was quite feeling “Fallin’” and “Try a Little Tenderness” (if not as much as Hollie’s RITD), while “Fallin’” was less awkward than Haley’s (though Haley did pour out in some parts of hers, I think Jessica’s restraint was quite underrated here). But I think that with this episode it shows that Jessica’s path leans to not-so-pop R&B style, and some might question her “mainstream” appeal, but as my friend said “it is better to not look at her while she is singing” possibly cause her look is so different from her genre.

    3. I agree though that I would put Colton’s performances in the bottom this week, and his vocal limitations comes out (voice to low for the intensity of “Bad Romance”), but “September” was quite underrated in a sense that it is not as BAD as some say it, even though the funk was lacking.

    4. I thought Phillip’s “U Got it Bad” was just OK, and felt that the 2nd was better, even though he was awkward looking.

    5. IMO the most enjoyable performance for me was Elise’s “No One”, as her tone was quite pretty (contrary to her usual roughness) here, and I can feel and sing with her while she was singing, and I agree that her 2nd song was quite lacking.

    6. Joshua’s performances were one of the vocally better performances too IMO and he was feeling it quite good, but I understand the low buzz for it as he didn’t stray from his usual thing.

No unpopular for Skylar. Interesting how she mixed up “Born This Way” TOTALLY, and wished she picked a better song than “HITTGV”.

  • judes

Well I love HITTGV [the original song]but unlike Colton’s version of September which I loved -I hated Skylars version of HITTGV -she shouted though the whole song & there was no groove to it .

Yeah, tough crowd out in Idol universe last night.

It’s strange this year in that so many contestants seem to have equal numbers of people loving and hating them. And the very things that some people rave about are the reasons why others can’t stand them.

I always hate the same things about Joshua (oversinging), Jessica (boring voice), Phillip (growly lack of variety) and Skylar (tuneless shouting).

Elise has masterful phrasing and interpretation skills but tends to pick terrible songs for a competition and then sings all around the melody trying to make those low-key songs more interesting.

Colton is sometimes quite good and sometimes awful, depending on the vocals, which vary wildly from week to week.

Hollie has the most distinctive voice of the lot, in my opinion. And she at least picks songs that show off her strengths.

The one thing that has been a constant for me this year is that the song choices have been absolute snoozers.

  • Anonymous

I loved Hollie’s RITD she had tons of power and you could see her potential so clearly.  Thought P2 was good tonight. Colton not so much.  Jessica and Joshua did well I think I liked Jessica better tonight.  Ellsie IMO did not have a good night and too much conversation in reply to judges the girl really is overthinking just sing you have the chops. Skylar love her or hate her she was Skylar.  I am not a huge fan of the Spunky plucky country bad ass approach especially when it is accompanied by screaming instead of singing. I think she could have a pleasent enough tone but someone needs to work with her.
    Ranking for the night overall:

    Hollie
    P2
    Jessica
    Loshua
    Colton (based on first performance)
    Skylar
    Elsie

  • http://www.realitywithoutapologies.blogspot.com/ lisakn

I thought last night was the worst night I’ve seen them have. Skylar’s BTW was almost like they were trying to make fun of the song instead of sing it right with the accent she has. Jessica was screeching so much it was hard to follow her, and whoever did her hair and makeup should be fired on the spot. Elise had a bad night, but I don’t think she deserves to go home at all. Colton was horrible with both songs..the first looked like a 5th grade talent comp, dressing up like the rock star kind of thing. Hollie was ok, except she looked stiff on the last song and the band kind of played over her. Joshua was alright..but something seemed off. Phillip had the best night by far, and I don’t even care for him that much. I think they all were shaken by last week and tried to over sing everything.

  • http://www.realitywithoutapologies.blogspot.com/ lisakn

Oh and my bottom 3(if I were picking them) would be
    1. Colton
    2. Skylar
    3. Jessica
What I think will be bottom 3
    1. Elise
    2. Colton
    3. Skylar

  • http://twitter.com/LindsayKempFan Not fit to print

The best singers overall to date imho are Joshua, Jessica, Philip and Skylar. Last night wasn’t the best for some of them but I hope they all stay.

I like Colton – he had an interesting, edgy 90′s UK kind of thing going on for the GAGA song - but, overall, I don’t get his popularity. I think it was Ryan who said something about his cool stare last night. To me he looks a bit stunned or too shy to emote. Whatever, he is working no harder on connecting with the audience or the song than they say Jessica is. Why it’s not a problem for him with fans, I can’t say.

Philip finally got to me last night. His reaction to Jennifer calling him sexy was sweet and bashful. I think the tops of his ears went red. Already a fan of his voice; just needed a little crack in the “too cool for you” demeanor and I finally got it.

  • http://www.realitywithoutapologies.blogspot.com/ lisakn

I totally agree. The song choices are horrible. They need help with that.

just finished watching Idol. Voted for Hollie’s RITD on the poll.
I thought she did really great on that song, one of, if not her best so far. I also really liked her 2nd song, vocals were great and she made it sound fairly current.

Colton. I quite liked both of his performances. He’s not the best singer, but he chooses songs I like and performs well, and does a good job of updating the songs. And I love his dress sense.

Elise. I like her voice, especially when I close my eyes, but just can’t warm to her and I don’t like watching her sing. That permanent bent knees, bum stuck out bobbing up and down annoys me.

Skylar. I love her energy, but I just don’t like the tone of her voice, too nasally, and shouts a lot.

PP. I always like him at the beginning of his songs, then he seems to go beyond a certain point and just starts looking so weird, the eyes and the bulging vein….just find it very strange.

Jessica. Brilliant voice, but it just always feels so rehearsed, her comments, reactions etc. And I never believe her emotions, just always seems like acting. My husband happened to watch her 2nd song, (he never really watches Idol so knows nothing about the contestants) and said he hated it and that it sounded awful.

Joshua. Best male voice in the competiton, but for me its not enough. I just find him so old fashioned…..

  • http://twitter.com/LindsayKempFan Not fit to print

A couple of weeks ago I said that a Colton-Philip finale wouldn’t have me in the audience because they both seemed a bit too dis-engaged. After last night, I would be watching because I would want Philip to win so badly.

As long as Philip is in the finale, I am watching.

  • Anonymous

Thats the only way I can explain her missteps in song choices….Elise is covering songs she loves to listen to or play with her band, instead of songs that could be on her album.

The 1st week the idols could defined themselves was during “songs from your Idol” week. She won me over with her Rock side but with the 80′s week and the following “open” themes, she has chosen completely different songs from different genres. My personal wish for her is that she sing more songs that she can play on instruments…especially if she plans to go the singer-songwriter route.

  • Tess

Since I have no horse in this race and probably won’t be supporting these kids post Idol (It’s definitely a TV show for me this season) I’m really trying to comment based on impressions and not from the perspective of a “fan”.

Colton:  I really think he dug his grave this week…AI viewers have been “played” enough over 11 seasons to understand the difference between a singer and a manipulator.  Re-arranging a song isn’t carte blanche for impressive, in fact sometimes it seems more desperate…and that is the vibe I get from Colton.  It’s like he needs to “prove” that he is something above and beyond the typical AI karaoke singer…but massacring a song, destroying the melody, and turning it upside down only shows an ego run a muck. As a contestant he ranks an ‘F’.

Elise:  The impressive thing, for me, about a true artist is their ability to sing the phone book….and Elise just doesn’t have that ability.  Based on her sour faces and her obvious disdain for the restrictions on AI she is all about only singing what she considers to be songs that highlight her talent and she wants to take 6 minutes to get there.  Sorry, Elise, but dragging your ‘song book’ around and being a very sore looser when the contents don’t show up on Idol is a big turn off for me.  Rank ‘D’.

Jessica:  I know she is young but so were other Idolettes…so that isn’t a valid excuse.  I just feel Jessica is so over-trained and has spent so much time mimicking (probably subconsciously) those she admires that she hasn’t figured out who Jessica is…and I find that rather sad.  When I hear her sing I feel just like I do when I watch a choreographed ballerina with years of training dancing the steps without understanding what makes the steps exciting.  Jessica seems to be a “surface” singer…great notes, fine technique, mad skills and absolutely no heart.  The girls tries and I do feel compassion for her but what she lacks isn’t something that can be taught…it just IS.  Rank ‘C’.

Joshua: I loves gospel singers and guys with big voices but they need something beyond power, words, and notes…they need individuality and a whole big dose of humility.  I want to feel their angst, their insecurities, their ability to connect with me.  Josh…not quite there.  Beautiful voice, great skills, but lacking that seemingly tortured soul mentality that so many great R&B and soul singers have.  I thought he prettied up ‘A Change is Gonna Come’ so it lost all the emotional grit I know the song has. Rank ‘C+’

Skylar:  I like what she does and I think she has a great personality…I just want to see if she has the creativity of a Dolly, or the soul of a Loretta or Patsy, or the emotion of a Tammy.  She’s a little too Reba/Miranda…not enough of the others.  Rank ‘B’

Phillip:  I don’t listen to Dave Mathews so I can’t comment on whether he is a clone or not.  But I am impressed with Phillips understanding of who he is as a performer and where he wants to go.  He’ll never have a gigantic repertoire or be all things to all people…he is a very niche guy with his own unique sound.  Like Scotty last year I find the fact that he isn’t about showing all things to all people…he wants to be Phillip and he is very good at being himself.  Rank ‘B’

Hollie:  Probably the most insecure of all the contestants with mad talent that she doesn’t have a clue what to do with….she is unformed, untrained, unspoiled, needs lots of mentoring and needs to get the nervous Nellie monkey off her back.  But I love the sound of her voice, do think she has tons of potential, and can be developed into something pretty special, and I think she appeals to people in a very kid sister way which isn’t a bad thing.  Rank ‘B’

Joshua and Jessica are so talented I don’t really understand how they can be at the bottom of the pack. Holly has picked it up as well. Skylar is very entertaining, natural and brings a lot of energy to a performance but I am not partial to country music. Not a fan of Elise and Colton although they definitely are the musicians in the group. Phillip I still haven’t figured out whether I like him or not – the singing comes from his core, which the only one who comes close to him is Joshua and then Skylar.
I must say Jimmy is way more astute in trying to figure out how the votes are playing out. The judges, JLo and Randy in particular, the more they tell voters how to vote, the worse it is. If the voting audience is made up of teen girls, then a rebellious teen is going to do the exact opposite!
Judges stop encouraging screaming, crying, smiling, moving but not moving too much, making it you own but then not staying true to the artist- all in 45 second performance   - you are torturing these poor people.

I liked the 1st round much more than the 2nd round, so I’ll rank separately:
    Round 1.
Skylar:  A+  (I wasn’t a fan of Skylar in the beginning, but she has definitely won me over. She works the stage better than any other contestant and I loved how she interacted with the two Clarks brothers)
    2. Elise:    A     (I got the “goosies” too)
    3. Hollie:  A-    (Great job on Adele’s song! One of her best performances.)
    4. Jessica: A-/B+ (I love Jessica, but this performance didn’t blow me away like her usual. She’s even set the bar too high for herself. LOL)
    5. P2:       C+   (Cringeworthy vocals. I don’t get the appeal of this guy.)
    6. Colton:  C-    (On a brighter note, but he gets points for comic relief)

    Round 2:
    1. Skylar:    A-. (I really hope that voters don’t forget her in the whole Hollie vs Jessica controversy)
    2. Elise:      B+ (I’m not a fan of the Marvin Gaye song, but Elise almost made me like it.)
    3. Colton:    B  (Surprisingly, I thought this was much better than his first song; he tends to perform much better when he’s at the piano)
    4. Jessica:   B-. A bit too much growling and shouting. I think this was an off-night for Jess, but I disagree with all the comments about her being robotic.
    5. Hollie:   B-/C+  (It drives me crazy when singers mumble their words. I could barely understand what she was saying.  I don’t even think Hollie understood what she was singing).
    6. Phillip:  C   (The happy serial killer version of “Midnight Hour” did not work for me).

  • fuzzywuzzy

Not really fond of anyone left so I didn’t vote.  I predict that Hollie, Elise and Joshua will be in the bottom 3, with Elise going home.  It should be Hollie, Elise and Colton in the bottom 3, with Colton going home, but that won’t happen.  Still predicting a finale of Colton/P2 (P2 will win), with Skylar in 3rd and Jessica/Joshua possibly vying for 4/5.

  • Incipit

opalruby, you can be my Designated Poster for this week. If you don’t mind. *wink* That opinion is close enough to mine, it’ll work.

I have lost patience with this season, there was truly nothing last night that impressed me – and it’s too far in to make any more excuses for them….judges and contestants and PTB alike. (It became especially evident after spending a little time in the Season7 Archives yesterday, while tracking down an elusive reference.) They’ve crossed my threshold and moved into Disinterested Territory. I’ll check back and see what “Our” opinion is next week, I suppose. *snerk*

  • fuzzywuzzy

I agree, that was a really good recording.

  • Anonymous

It’s called an opinion and all don’t have to agree.  Jessica is “technically” the best, but singing is more about emotion.  How can a 16 year old know of love lost or pain.  Sorry no emotion from her IMO.

  • Anonymous

Hollie finally connected IMHO. RITD is a song only Adele should sing, but damn, Hollie nailed it. And she brought personality to the song also. Preacher wasn’t quite as good, but she looked darling in that ultra-cute pink dress. t think she’s safe tonight.

    I. Do. Not. Understand. Colton’s. Appeal. I think he’s in the bottom 3 tonight. SHOCKER!!! ;-)

Elise has worn out her welcome for me. Yes, she’s got a very nice, sultry voice and her phrasing is good, but she continues to pick songs that don’t do much for her and she also continues to look like she’s a 35 year-old-housewife who’s a bit frayed around the edges and doesn’t really want to be on stage. I think she’s bottom 3 and she’ll get the boot.

P2. I’ve kept trying and trying to figure out who he reminds me of and last night, I finally figured it out. Joe Cocker. For all of you who are youngsters (hell, Joe was a bit before my time also) – remember the old man singing with Crystal and Lee in the finale of S9? P2 sings and moves just like him. Cocker has had a pretty good career, so maybe P2 is onto something. He’s, of course, safe.

I think Jessica has a huge future in singing. Not on AI. But in real life? Yeah. She’s surely safe this week ’cause her fans voted like crazy, but she isn’t going to win. So Jess – stop worrying and just sing your butt off. You rock.

Now, Skylar might well have a shiny singing future. On this show. Not so much, IMHO, in real country music. She’s certainly spunky, but her voice is nothing special, she’s way young and she’s coming off idol. Country already has Lauren and her voice is ten times the voice of Skylar’s. There are very few female slots on country radio, and my bet is Skylar will not fill one of them. So enjoy it while it lasts, Miss Spunky!

Joshua has an amazing voice and he’s going to have a good future in R&B, but his song choices last night were just…odd. So I think he’s going to be in the bottom 3 tonight – even with the pimp spot.

    B3
    Colton
    Elise
    Joshua

    Going home – Elise.

For me, and I certainly don’t claim to speak for everyone, I think a lot of the complaints about this season are coming from a place of the Idol bar being set so high 11 seasons into the show.  When I think back to earlier seasons, there were of course show stopping performances, but there were also lots of trainwrecks as well.  In a way, I feel like it took less to have a legitimate moment because expectations weren’t so high across the board and the talent wasn’t so uniformly well, talented.  One thing I have to say about this season is that even when folks aren’t great, we really don’t get the trainwrecks of seasons yore anymore.   I can maybe think of some kind of trainwrecky performances from Top 24 (Eben anyone?), but from Top 13 and beyond not really.  This is still a show where folks like Nikki McKibbin and Jasmine Trias managed to make it almost to the end, so when people talk about the great days of Idol yesteryear it does make me laugh to some degree.

So even when people complain about this season, I do think this is a ridiculously talented group, as was the whole Top 10.  It makes it harder for me to judge who did best or worst on any given night because there are no obvious joke contestants.  That said, will I follow any of them after the show?  The only folks I’m interested in really watching how they develop are Jessica, Hollie and DeAndre, who is already gone anyway.  Also yes, it is possible to be interested in both Jessica and Hollie.

I haven’t drank the kool-aid, so my favorites are still my favorites.  With that said, my favorite performance of the night was P2′s 2nd song…and that shocks even me!  I like Jam sessions and that’s what it felt like…completely unscripted.

I enjoyed Colton somewhat.  Not his best night but he is still my favorite, so I supported him in an off week.  They all get to have one.  IMO, now they all have.

Jessica reminds me of a girl playing dress up in her mother’s clothes and makeup.  Her songs week after week are too “subject matter” mature.  So while she hits the right notes, I don’t connect.  How is a 16 year old going to tell me about loving a man that she knows is no good for her?

Joshua…I live in the south.  I go to church.  Please stop taking me there EVERY STINKING WEDNESDAY.  Bored.  Over it.  Thank you.

    T3: P2, Skylar, Colton
B3: Hollie, Jessica, Elise (although I wouldn’t be shocked to see Joshua here.  The overpraise and the same old thing each week is turning people off)

I would love to see a Jessica elimination just to shut Randy up on his ”the best singer in the universe” crap.  But I know it won’t happen right after the save, so I am saying Elise is going home.

    My rankings from last night:
    1.  Hollie – In my opinion, the only contestant to have two good, A-quality performances;
    2.  Philip – Just a tad behind Hollie because I thought performance #2 was a bit below Hollie’s;
    3.  Elise – Can’t help it.  Just love this girl’s voice.  I loved her first performance. Her second one wasn’t up to that standard, but I still don’t get the judges’ critique;
    4.  Colton – Had no use for the second song.  First song saves his night for me, because I think he did well.
    5.  Joshua – My consistent theme this year is that I just don’t get Joshua; which doesn’t mean I think he is untalented;
    6.  Skylar – I don’t mind Skylar so much, but the country music thing is driving me away.  Not her fault – it is who she is.  Liked a few of her performances earlier this year that were a bit more crossover.
    7.  Jessica – I thought both performances were awful.  I thought the second performance was completely BEYOND awful.

If I have ever heard a Dave Matthews song, I am not aware of it so I (like many others I am sure) have no idea if the constant comparisons are valid and don’t really care. Nor do I think he is Lee D or Taylor H clone altho I can see why people say this. There are similarities but the big difference is this: P2 has charisma and sex appeal, big time. He’s so damn cute & I love the way he bares his soul when he sings. Honestly, I don’t know much about music, but his emotional no holds barred approach reminds me of The Kings Ol Leon. And he must be aware of his funny faces, but doesn’t care. He probably knows he’s cute but has no interest in being a pretty pop boy and I like that. Okay throw the tomatoes but I’m sticking with my guy Phillip. I do like Hollie and Elise too, and frankly I don’t care who wins as long as it isn’t Colton. He is not a great singer, although Jimmy may be right, Colton will better showcase his voice after the competition when he can showcase his own songs, meanwhile I definitely don’t think he should volunteer to sing the phone book.

And how can we forget the song stylings of Mikalah Gordon and Carmen Rasmussen?  They both made top ten, if I recall.  Nough said.

I’m not sure who goes home tonight.  They’re all playing in the their lanes. Now I would love to ban Colton Dixon from performing anywhere but the Tennessee Fundamentalist Christian Society Labor Day Picnic, but that’s me.

I’m not sold on Hollie as a performing artist – not yet, although she has a lovely voice.  Jessica is not my cuppa, and something about Elise puts me off, although I apologize for that [sorry, girl!  You're good but I can't listen to you].

Having looked up Skylar’s originals on Myspace – I think she’s definitely got a future in Nashville.  At least as good as Taylor Swift as a songwriter, and with unusual performance chops.  She makes Lauren Alaina look like the Tuesday’s best karaoke singer in a Chattanooga Cracker Barrel.

September was unrecognizable. Overall I enjoyed Hollie the most. So I decided to do some voting. I tried for 2 hours to get a few votes in for her and Joshua, but got so many “fast busies”. I think the lines were crossed.

Elise picked up that bus with her own two hands and sat it right down on top of her.  Her attitude stunk and she lets it show all over her face and then the way she sang those songs last night was not good

You may want to listen to this collaboration of Elise with Man On Fire – “Gravity”. She starts singing at 4.20. Perhaps it’s too progressive for you but I thought it’s fantabulous!

I just don’t get all the talking about Elise’s “stunk” face. What would your face look like if you were upset and worried because your dog is dying and on top, you were being harshly critiqued by the judges?

You know, every season I can remember has a lot of complaining while the season is going on. Then next year it is remembered with somewhat rose colored glasses. Usually. Some seasons never look better in hindsight, like season 9. But I think next year people will be complaining that the cast does not have the overall vocal quality of this year’s cast. Heh. There really aren’t any duds in this top 7. I think that is remarkable considering where we usually are at this stage of the game.

I know this opinion will be unpopular, but I’m kind of sad that this judging panel is almost sure to be broken up next year. In my opinion they have put together 2 very strong casts in a row, each including a number of people who have real commercial potential. Whatever else they lack, I think they can surely spot talent.

I thought it was a great night. Way better than anything we have seen on The X Factor or The Voice this past year.

I know a lot of you compare P2 to Dave Matthews, but during his first song, I saw a little bit of Sting…maybe it was the bango drums.  I would love P2 to do a Sting song.

  • Anonymous

I’ve been completely unimpressed with P2 since his hideous audition — and that hasn’t changed. He will win, of course. There’s no escaping that. After Idol, he’ll get almost no radio airplay, and in the end, Lee DeWyze will have sold more records.

I respect Colton’s risk-taking, but it didn’t really work for him this week. Both songs sounded like works in progress rather than fleshed-out performances.

Joshua was great last week and only ok this week. Based on his facial expression, even he couldn’t figure out why the judges were standing for him. I like him, and I hope he does well.

Skylar has a great stage presence, but I wish she hadn’t overused the growl.

Elise was forgettable. She’s probably going home tonight.

Jessica was ok. She has more charisma than Thia from last season, but not nearly as much as Jordin.

I cringed when Hollie announced that she would attempt “Rolling in the Deep,” but she did a great job with it. Cheers to her.

The producers need to replace the judges’ ejector seats with regular chairs. They pop out of them way too often. Or perhaps “Idol” might make a move to recruit Christina Aguilara next year. The show desperately needs a judge who will tell it like it is.

I agree Tinawina.  I will never say that I like Randy Jackson as I still hold a grudge from seasons past and I do think he’s a tool for the most part, but I’m in the minority that think this judging panel has done pretty well finding talent, and to further that, diverse talent.  I also actually like that they seemed to really encourage talent that they found in S10 to come back in S11 and then actually put them through to the live shows, which is evident in that 3 of this Top 10 were folks cut at Top 40 last year.

What exactly do you want Jessica to sing as a 16 year old? When she is given a theme to do a soul song from the past? I really want to know.

Elise is awesome. I’d love to hear her record, and I think she probably will when this is over.

I agree sumidol. Her speech is way over the top. I live in the south and have never heard anyone talk like that.

I couldn’t agree more. Jessica’s second was horrific. All the over singing and trying to growl at the same time just really made me realize why she almost went home last week.
I actually thought they would pimp her more last night, but in a way I guess they did with all the slow motion of her lying on the couch and poetry in her honor at the beginning, and even tho her performance was horrid they still thought she was the world’s best singer..lol. No wonder no one listens to these judges. I really think Simon needs to come back where we can get some honesty out of them.

”How is a 16 year old going to tell me about loving a man that she knows is no good for her? ”

I think you may underestimate 16-year-olds! heh

Not sure why I am showing up as “guest”.  At any rate…I was referring to the Alica Keys song.  She had a 12 year span to choose from and any genre.  I didn’t like her choice.  My opinion only.  I have always been a fan of her voice.  Never of her choices or performances.

We are giving this panel of judges credit for picking the cast.  But how much do they really have to do with it?  My impression has always been that they know who TPTB want and all their “decisions” are pretty much fed to them.  I think this starts from day one in auditions.

Hollie -  best of the night….the others are going the wrong way!
    Bottom Three will be….
Joshua – Always sounds the same (Skreech)
Elise – Good but you can’t be talkin back to those judges
Colton – His worse week so far

I love Elise….but she will be going home.

Black people are really smashing in these polls once again. Bye Joshua.

I hope Colton and Philip are top 2 this year.

What? I am a huge Joshua fan and I am not black. Love his voice

To each her own, but I couldn’t DISagree more. Love the soul and grit and growl in her voice. And just to be clear, her growling was all on-pitch growling. :) I don’t mind that people don’t like or don’t get that kind of singing, that’s totally fine, but it bugs me when people say that it was “horrid” or “horrific”. I feel like it verges on insulting an entire tradition or culture of singing.

Agreed, my favorites by far are Jess And Josh

I agree with this completely. I remember there being a lot of complaints during Season 8-and now people consider that one of the best seasons. Same with last year in Season 10-people complained that the contestants weren’t creative and always stayed in their lane-Scotty was called a one trick pony, people complained about the male domination, complained about Lauren never pushing herself, complained about James being a lesser version of Adam, complained about Haley’s growling, etc. Now season 10 is loved by a lot of people(including myself lol).

WHHAAAT???! Hollie’s RITD is most favourite here??? It wasn’t incredible at all! Sure it was sung well, and sung LOUD AGAIN. That’s what Hollie does all the time. But to say it was the best performance?? COME ON! Even P2 U got it bad was way more inventive and original than that. I could name 5 people who sung RITD much better than Hollie – 1) Hayley last season 2) Adele…oh wait 3) Adele 4) Adele and 5) Adele.

She’s Diana Degarmo 2.0. Loud is the new good. Get on board!

May Holly have all the success that Diana DeGarmo has had.  She’s working in the entertainment field and gets to sing as well.  Diana is a very talented young lady!
