American Idol 11 Spoilers: Top 42 Begin Next Round Tomorrow

Here’s the latest update from TIP.

Tomorrow, the top 42 contestants will be arriving in California for the next round, which should last about a week in total. However, there are a couple unexpected twists. The first is that they will be returning to Las Vegas for Sing-For-Your-Life and performing at a venue where they just may get wet. The second is that, unlike last season, they will not be making another trip next month for the Green Mile filming (as had been assumed).

I’m not sure what it means that they won’t be making another trip for the Green Mile. Does that mean they’ll be filming the Green Mile this week?

    After reading that paragraph, that’s the most logical explanation to me.  All of these tidbits are getting me really excited about the start of season 11 this coming week!

    Yes, It seems instead of just filming the sfyl episode and then sending them home, they will film both sfyl, and green mile episode all in one trip.

    Well, since there was a tie in with the Cirque last year in Vegas and I think the MJ theme was meant to tie in with their travelling MJ show (which may be settling in Vegas?), I suspect that this will also be Cirque related.

    So, I guess that the Idols will have something to do with the Cirque show at the Bellagio (“O”).

    IM (Idol Maniac) who posted that message at TIP confirmed in chat that’s exactly what it means.  They will be filming/taping the Green Mile phase in Las Vegas, so the Top 24 will learn who they are.  That means there will be more than a month after semifinalists are determined before they are announced on air on Feb 23.  That will be a comfortably long time to get spoilers since it’s virtually guaranteed not everybody will be able to stay quiet.  :)

    Is there an aquarium in the area?  It will be good to see Idol back again.  I am not excited about The Voice, AGT, or Dancing With the Stars in the coming months like I am about American Idol!
