Lauren Turner – Lauren auditioned in New Orleans but was also not shown. She styles herself a blues singer but within the last two weeks has uploaded two dance/pop tracks. Before trying out for Idol Lauren was the lead singer of a New Orleans cover band Band Camp. That kind of experience means Lauren probably has a wide knowledge of songs to draw from and it could help her on the show.

    Poor Lauren doesn’t have much of a chance, but I got to say I liked her interview, of course the fact that she could remember Kelly’s performance of Respect so well counted as a huge positive in my book.

    Okay, right now I would like to see Rachel, Karen, Haley, Lauren A, Naima, Jackie, Julie, James, Jerome, John Wayne, Brett, Jimme Allen, and Casey in the top 13. This is of course just my first edition of my list lol!

    You don’t know what you’re talking about. Lauren is AWESOME! I’ve heard her sing many times and that video does not do her justice. Bad recording…I’ve heard Lauren’s favorite, Kelly Clarkson in with a bad recording. Did you hear Kelly sing the National Anthem. It wasn’t great, but we all know she’s good. There’s a lot of the top 40 that sound great sometimes with the crap out there and some times they don’t. Give her shot guys! I like Lauren! Poey on you! ; )

    No need to overeact, lol. I think most people are ignoring her because we’ve seen nothing of her so far. Frankly, the fact that they didn’t show her audition doesn’t bode well for her top 20 chances.
    But having a clean slate is sometimes better than being pimped, people are more open to you.

    Pretty good list.
    I think there will be a black female R&B tough, either Ashton, Keisha or Ta-Tynisa. I’m also afraid that Thia will take the place of one of the more interesting girls, even tough I think the writing is on the wall with her and the voters won’t like her.
    On the guys side, Casey and Scotty are locks (can’t believe you didn’t list him). James could also be a lock but I’m waiting for his audition next week.

    Yep, at least there are more girls not featured than guys, so there’s more of a chance for a non featured girl to be in the top 20 than a non featured guy.

    I do, I liked the Fleetwood Mack cover that she had on her myspace (and removed since) and I like her interview too.
    I’m just not too optimistic for her chances right now.

    Well let’s hope she is featured and does well enough to get something out of being one of the top 18 girls left. You got to assume all these kids worked their buns off to get to this point, it was no walk in the park, I’m sure. So I just don’t see bashing any of them, we should be giving them the respect that they’ve gotten this far.

    Yea, I did like the cover of Fleetwood Mac too. I think she is more of an R&B singer though, and we haven’t heard the real Lauren yet…my fingers are crossed.
