The Amazing Race Season 25 Episode 5 Live Recap

Tonight a new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap of the episode here.

Last week no one was eliminated, so eight teams remain in the race. Kym and Alli came in first place last week, so they’re the first to depart. But first they check out their new cars. They find out their next destination: Marrakech, Morocco. They must proceed to Jemaa El-Fnaa marketplace to find their next clue. Kym and Alli book a flight at a travel agency and learn that they will lose their lead due to the earliest flight allowing all the teams to be on there together.

At the airport, Misti and Jim believe all the teams are bitter that they got to keep their Save despite coming in last place in the previous leg. They’re especially worried since there is a Double U-Turn this leg of the race.

The teams arrive at Morocco and are making their way to the marketplace. They all find the clue box at the same time. All the teams get to work on their task (constructing vendor carts), but Misti and Jim must do their speed bump first (hanging carpets).

Keith and Whitney finish first and get their next clue. They must proceed to Bab Debbagh Tannery to find their next clue. Meanwhile, Misti and Jim finally start the vendor cart task as Kym and Alli, Brooke and Robbie, and Shelley and Nici get their next clue.

Amy and Maya, Adam and Bethany, and Tim and Te Jay finish the task too. They can make their way to Bab Debbagh Tannery too. Misti and Jim finish the task too and are twelve minutes behind the other teams (according to Phil). Now there is a Roadblock to complete, which requires pulling out hair. Keith, Amy, Brooke, Bethany, Kym, and Tim do the Roadblock for their teams and arrive there at the same time. Shelley and Nici and Misti and Jim finally arrive, with Nici and Misti doing the Roadblock. The teams finish pulling the hair out, but all teams are lost on the way to deliver it. They all arrive at the same corner simultaneously as they deliver the hair.

There’s an argument between Keith and Shelley as they receive the next clue. Shelley asserts that she and Nici arrived there first, but Keith and Whitney are the first team to get their next clue. “Push me one more time!” Keith says. “Or what?!” retorts Shelley.

Adam and Bethany arrive at the clue box first and they learn they have a Detour to complete: “Twirl Time” or “Tea Time.” “Twirl Time” requires teams to twirl to music and “Tea Time” requires teams to deliver a tea set and serve tea in a specific way. Adam and Bethany do “Tea Time,” as do Misti and Jim, Brooke and Robbie, and Tim and Te Jay. Everyone else does “Twirl Time.”

Adam and Bethany are the first team to complete the Detour! They get their next clue and can now make their way to Le Grand Balcon du Café Glacier. Kym and Alli finish twirling and are now in second place.

Kym and Alli arrive at the U-Turn station first, but choose not to U-Turn anyone. Adam and Bethany arrive there second and don’t U-Turn anyone either. They make their way to the Pit Stop (Al Matjar Carpet Shop) and arrive there at the same time, but Kym and Alli are Team #1 and each win $5,000. Adam and Bethany are Team #2.

Shelley and Nici finish twirling and arrive at the U-Turn station. They U-Turn Keith and Whitney and make their way to the Pit Stop.

Tim and Te Jay finish serving tea and choose not to U-Turn anyone. They arrive at the Pit Stop and are Team #3. Shelley and Nici arrive at the Pit Stop next and are Team #4. Brooke and Robbie, Misti and Jim, and Amy and Maya check-in at the Pit Stop as Teams #5, #6, and #7 respectively. Keith and Whitney are in last and the only team to be U-Turned.

Keith and Whitney are eliminated.
