The Amazing Race 27 Recap – Week 9 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

Last week the Final 6 teams traveled to Kraków, Poland. Tanner and Josh were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop, but were spared due to it being a non-elimination leg. With a U-Turn in play and a Speed Bump to complete, will Tanner and Josh be able to survive? Or will another team be checking in last at the Pit Stop tonight? Let’s find out!

Tanner and Josh and Tiffany and Krista are worried about the upcoming leg. They know the U-Turn will be in play and they believe whomever Justin and Diana choose for the U-Turn will be eliminated. They’re hoping that another team will manage to get ahead of Justin and Diana so they can be U-Turned.

The new leg begins. They must fly to New Delhi, India. Once there, they must take a train to to Agra. At the airport, Justin and Diana know they are the targets for the other teams. Kelsey and Joey are worried about the U-Turn too, but are eager to U-Turn Justin and Diana. Chris and Logan and Denise and James Earl are also certain the U-Turn will be used this leg since there are only six teams left. Tiffany and Krista won’t be able to use the U-Turn this leg since they already tried U-Turning Justin and Diana last time (not knowing they were already ahead of them). While all the teams are targeting Justin and Diana, Justin and Diana want to U-Turn Tanner and Josh.

Once they arrive at the railroad station, the teams experience a bit of culture shock after seeing several people sleeping on the ground. Justin and Diana and Chris and Logan talk about U-Turning Tanner and Josh. Chris and Logan tell Justin and Diana that Tiffany and Krista U-Turned them last time. Justin and Diana are unhappy to hear this, so they go and ask Tiffany and Krista about it. Tiffany and Krista deny it and then confront Chris and Logan. Justin is laughing in glee watching Krista and Chris get into a tense conversation about the U-Turn. Chris is now worried he and Logan will be U-Turned.

Once at Agra, the teams must ride on a tuk-tuk to the Roadblock. Once there, they learn the task, which is to clean laundry Indian style. Krista, Chris, Denise, Joey, Tanner, and Diana are the six who do the Roadblock. For their Speed Bump, Josh must also complete the Roadblock too. While working on the task, Tanner asks everyone about the U-Turn, and Diana, Joey, and Chris say they won’t be using it. They all could be bluffing, though.

Joey is the first one to complete the Roadblock, and he’s followed by Chris and Diana. They can now make their way to the Hanuman Temple. Once blessed, they will receive their next clue. Tanner completes the Roadblock too, but now Josh must do it as well.

At the Detour, the teams can either do Cans or Candy. Cans requires teams to load and deliver oil cans through a busy street. Candy requires teams to make and deliver candy. Joey and Kelsey and Justin and Diana choose Cans; Chris and Logan choose Candy.

Krista and Denise are now done with the Roadblock, and only Josh is left. On the way to the Cans Detour, Joey and Kelsey get lost, allowing Justin and Diana to get there first. While Tiffany and Krista and Denise and James Earl get started at the Candy Detour, Joey and Kelsey finally arrive at the Cans Detour. Afterwards, Tanner and Josh finally complete the Speed Bump and can make their way to the Detour too. They choose to do Candy as well.

All the teams are working on the Detour, but it is Justin and Diana who complete their task first. However, Kelsey and Joey and Logan and Chris finish their Detours right afterwards. It’s a race to the next clue box where the U-Turn awaits. Justin and Diana are stalled for a moment as their tuk-tuk driver has to ask for directions. Which team will arrive there first?

Justin and Diana arrive at the U-Turn board and choose not to U-Turn anyone. They can now make their way to the Moonlight Garden – the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. Kelsey and Joey arrive there second. Kelsey and Joey use the U-Turn on Tanner and Josh. Logan and Chris are just happy not to be U-Turned before they make their way to the Pit Stop too.

Justin and Diana arrive at the Pit Stop and are Team #1. It’s their sixth time coming in first, and they win a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii. Kelsey and Joey are Team #2 and Logan and Chris are Team #3. They are frustrated that Justin and Diana are always ahead of them and are determined to beat them.

Denise and James Earl, Tiffany and Krista, and Tanner and Josh are still at the Candy Detour. However, they complete it right after one another, with Denise and James Earl arriving at the U-Turn board before the two of them. They can now make their way to the Pit Stop. Tiffany and Krista see that Kelsey and Joey U-Turned Tanner and Josh and are shocked and angry. They cannot believe they U-Turned Tanner and Josh. Tanner and Josh arrive at the U-Turn board and see they have been U-Turned. They are annoyed, but seemed to have expected to be U-Turn. They are surprised it was Kelsey and Joey who U-Turned them, and they are now rooting for Justin and Diana to win as they make their way back to complete the Cans Detour.

Tiffany and Krista arrive at the Pit Stop and are Team #4. Denise and James Earl got lost on the way to the Pit Stop. As we see Denise and James Earl wandering around in confusion, Tanner and Josh are making good progress at the Cans Detour. It seems like Tanner and Josh may have a chance, but it’s misleading editing. Denise and James Earl arrive at the Pit Stop as Team #5. Tanner and Josh are the last team to arrive and are eliminated from the race. After starting the race so strong, they are disappointed to end their race earlier than they thought they would.
