Amanda Overmyer Album “Solidify” Available Now

I wish her well. She seems like a good person.

Wow, gotta say I think she sounds great. Voice is much stronger and more assured than AI… unique sound yet also reminds me of Bonnie Raitt. Very impressed.

I don’t get it. I thought she sounded horrible on AI, but here…I actually think she sounds very good. Not my cuppa as far as musical genres go, but Amanda is very listenable.

I actually liked a few of those snippets. Will this be on Itunes? I’d consider buying some songs. I like the style.

It’s definitely throwback type music but that suits her 100%. I’m glad she has stayed true to herself and the type of music she wanted to do.

When it comes on i-tunes, I will cherry pick a couple of these for sure. I love the ballady songs of hers.

How can you not like a CD with a song called “Varmint Rifle?” What is that, Sarah Palin’s theme song? And with hair like that, she (along with fellow skunk domed Fantasia), had better watch out that someone doesn’t mistake her head for a varmint and go all bang bang on her bangs.

Hey some of those songs aren’t bad at all, great job Amanda. She has definitely stay true to who she is, you go girl.

I love her ballads too. Her voice is unique, and I actually think she may have a better career ahead of her than KLC. The songs actually are rather good.

I always liked Amanda’s sound, and definitely thought she belonged in the Top 10 — certainly above a couple who ended up there and who shall remain nameless. I’ll check it out. Thanks MJ!

I love Janice Joplin so you’d think I would love Amanda. I think Amanda’s voice lacked warmth (and tone at times) on AI — basically don’t think her Harley covered heart was in it.

On this record, her voice shines through much clearer, still think she is missing a little warmth — but overall, I like it. And agree that the ballady songs are better (based on the snips). If someone gave her a truly good rock song to record, I think she’d be golden.

I’ve seen her live and she’s the real deal….she really shines in a live setting.

On another note, I truly feel for KLC, her album is one of my repeat plays in the CD player…all good songs and very “sing-along-able”….much better voice tone than CU…IMHO.

I love Amanda,always have. This sounds like a good effort. I’m gonna buy it.

You know, I think Season 7 very well end up being like season 5, with multiple successful contestants. Kristy Lee notwithstanding, The Davids are off to a great start, Josiah and Amanda each released good records, MJ, Carly, Jason and (hopefully) Brooke are all working on things and if any one of them puts out something decent – a real possibility – we may be looking at a few successful indie level projects. Good for them!

I love Amanda’s retro 70′s sound and I agree that she sounds a lot like Bonnie Raitt who is one of my favorite female artists. I hope this CD takes off. After hearing it I think it would’ve been great to see her on the AI tour last summer. The contestants always do so much better once they’re no longer competing.

Love it… and just ordered it. I knew she had this in her. Too bad we didn’t get to see this side of Amanda on Idol. She rocks!
