Check out Carrie Underwood rehearsing for the American Music Awards, set to air Sunday November 22 on ABC. Carrie fans speculate she’ll sing her single, “Cowboy Casanova”. (The choreography looks similar to her performance last week at the CMAs)

There’s   footage of Adam Lambert rehearsing HERE (check out the dancer complaining about her stilettos–that’s Courtney Galiano from So You Think You Can Dance Season 4).

And if you haven’t seen it– more footage from Adam’s AMA rehearsals, plus behind the scenes at the “For Your Entertainment” music video shoot   HERE.

And Kris Allen is set to present at the AMAs with…Demi Lovato (Demi toured with David Archuleta this past summer) Kris discusses presenting at the AMAs in this video HERE.

Demi Lovato and Kris Allen presenting. What an odd combination. I wonder who will be taller?

  • star

Carrie’s backdrop makes it look like she has Vegas theme going on. :)

Haha, Adam was cute thanking the sound people at the end of his rehearsal. He did sound good! And his dancers are excited! Can’t wait!!

  • Mtlfan

that will be fun watching all of them :D

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the AMAs. And, luckily for me, I have other plans Sunday night, so… My streak of never seeing the AMAs will stay intact.

Oh, that’s just wrong…and so funny. But I can’t see him presenting with Demi, since she’s about 12, right (no, she just seems like she’s about 12). OTOH, she’s at the top of the charts, and hopefully Kris will be soon, too…I guess there’s reasoning behind this odd pairing.

  • tinydance

I will probably watch the AMA’s for the established stars, since many will be releasing their cds next week. It will be a monster week for Gaga, Brit, Beyonce, Rihanna, and Shakira.

  • jammasta

    LOL

Yeah, what a weird combo. Kris and Demi? She’s too young. Someone he can banter with for a bit.

  • fusion8

so 4 Idols are performing. Kelly and Daughtry will probably just do soundchecks and they’re ready to go.

  • dhunken

Gee MJ I am never going to get sleep with all this great info you keep putting up. (Not really complaining. Love it) Plus you have 3 of my Favs in he same thread. Carrie, Adam, Kris! Least I don’t have to keep going back and forth in the threads…. ;-) Well sleep is over rated anyway. LOL

PS looking forward to seeing Courtney too. I think she is featured in Adam’s routine. (I think it is her sitting on his shoulder (sort of) in a pic I had seen)

Love that in this Video Adam acknowledges that he is excited to see the other Idols and names them all. He says Kelly can sing her face off.

Is it me or won’t Sunday be a little awkward with Adam performing and Kris only presenting? The other Idols performing are all winners apart from Daughtry, and he has been super successful for awhile now. I know Adam and Kris are great friends and wish one another the best, but Kris has got to feel sidelined – not by Adam, but by everyone else, really. Demi Lovato seems sweet, but she’s a 15-year old who’s essentially unknown except to Disney channel viewers (and their parents, like me). Not much cred in presenting with her. Kris does seem content to be mostly out of the spotlight, and I think he recognizes that Adam more than deserves the accolades he receives, but geez, he’s only human. What the heck do I know, though? Maybe I’m wrong and he’s totally happy with it. I hope so.

Whatever, I’ve got my Tivo all set to record (with 45 minutes over – not going thru Mad World again!) and I can’t wait to rewind GaGa and Adam over and over. Also curious to see if Nicole Kidman still looks like a Stepford wife – she apparently took that role seriously! Keith is way too hot for her, IMHO.

  • Organic

The reasoning is that they’re both nominated in the same category, I think.

Both Kris and Demi (along with Adam) are all nominated for Breakout Artist for the People’s Choice Awards. They are not nominated for anything on the AMAs

I am so excited for Adam — he was meant be the star of a big production. The last thing I will be thinking about on Sunday night when ADAM IS THE CLOSING ACT FIANLLY!! is how Kris is feeling. And from the clips tht they have revealed, I think that the vast majority of people will just be thinking about Adam too.

Anyway Kris seems to be handling it all fine.

I didn’t watch the CMAs so that video was my first introduction to Carrie’s performance. That was very sensual in a girls at the saloon sort of way. Great performance. She has a great voice. I liked it.

  • NewFan

    http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/hollywood_wrap&id=7130485

WOW. I just followed this link and watched Adam Lambert in two of the video segments on the page. The first, Adam Lambert Talks About … is a full length interview (about 4 minutes long) and, the second, Provocative Performances at the AMAs contains excerpts from the interview.

And, you know, I try pretty hard not to get too fangirly (except about THE VOICE and the hair) (ok that’s a little bit fangirly) … but … that interview … is truly brilliant!!!

It’s long. It’s unrehearsed. There are only one or two breaks where there has been an edit. But it’s calm, comfortable, interesting and really engaging. Conversational but with a substantive through line. Personable. Absolutely no nerves.

You get the idea, I’m sure, but go have a look. I’ve just used too many superlatives in a row and now I’m feeling silly.

  • NewFan

    ooops nvm

I love kris, but I am not worried about him at all. He is a very realistic guy who is doing just fine. likely he will do (another year), as they are featuring 5 idols and they are not all 1st placers. Carrie IS wonderful, and I really enjoyed her on CMA’s
My PVR (Canadian version of tivo) will be gainfully employed. Good idea,
to go overtime….Just in case!!!!!! I don’t want to MISS A THING!!!!!!!

  • vanjess38

What is wrong with Kris presenting at the AMA? People are making it sound so bad. How many artists have had that opportunity to do that in their career?
Demi is an artist just like Kris so there’s nothing wrong with their pairing. She’s the same age as Allison and would we say it’s odd for Kris to be paired with Allison for a presentation? Demi is very talented, IMO. It doesn’t seem odd to me at all and from all indications Kris is loving it.

Nice pics but he looks like he stopped in for a quick photo shoot on the way to the grocery store – way too toned back for an album cover, well at least for Adam’s album cover. I love the glittery alien cover – love it or hate it you can’t miss it :-)

adamaloha- this was my favorite part of the Huffpo review because I was thinking the exact same thing about FYE ( the album):

For Your Entertainment can be seen as Adam Lambert’s Off the Wall, a coming out album that not only symbolizes a re-invigorated hybrid aesthetic and sound, but introduces the world to a transformational new pop superstar.

  • AdoK

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/joe-vogel/review-lamberts-for-your_b_366296.html

Thank you adamaloha. It is the best written review on FYE to date, IMO. Surprisingly he didn’t mention Sure Fire Winners, Pick You Up and Sleepwalker – for me standouts.
4 points out of 5 for the reviewer.

  • Studio57

Adok- I don’t know- it’s kind of hard to beat Michelle Collins review- she has GIFs!!!!!

After reading so many reviews I am NOT suprised about the standouts because they are SO different in every review- just goes to show how many of the singles are so great. Remember the first day this album streamed? Everyone’s favorite kept changing through out the day, lol. My favorites still change but right now they are :

    Soaked
    Fever
    Pick U up
    If i Had You

  • AdoK

Studio 57, I will check M. Collins review. And hey you are right, this album is really strong. Mentioned 3 aren’t my only standouts!

People seem to agree that Aftermath is the weaker track though. I so wish they’d switch Master Plan and that one. Can’t wait to hear the two remaining bonus tracks. Voodoo sounds really cool, I am expecting that one to be a super dance/electronic track.

I like PUU, Fever but also the more guitar heavy tracks like STRUT, SFW and MP. WWFM and Sleepwalker are solid hits.

These are nice, but not for an album cover.

  • saga

Actually, from all the controversy with the OUT editor I am damn happy he chose that cover. It’s like exhibit A that Adam is not trying to hide that he is gay or that RCA is trying to shove him back into the closet.

  • Studio57

yeah, I think mostly everyone agrees on Aftermath, yet it’s my 12 yeaar olds favorite. I read somewhere that alot of AI devotees would probably like that song. Especially anyone who bought the coronation singles like TOML and NoBo- fits right in with those songs.

I agree I would have switched Aftermath with Master Plan. I was bringing my oldest home from college yesterday and that was her favorite out of the ones that were released so far. Then she heard Fever and If I Had You and now THOSE are her favorites.

I can’t wait for the rest of the bonuses too!

I am also glad Adam chose the cover he did but doesn’t look like Itunes feels the same- they have his old AI gothic vampire pic on their main page for a huge banner ( Kris is there too).

  • dcglam

Funny how everyone has different favorites!

My favorite is definitely SLEEPWALKER. Love the words, love the music, and especially love the singer!!
Can’t stop listening to it — ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!

  • Kirsten

Kris’s single is doing better than Adam’s right now, so maybe that’s accolade enough for him?

He’ll probably get a little thrill today when he learns that he just moved past John Mayer to get his first Top 20 Airplay hit on HAC.

  • saga

I am listening to PUU right now and I really want to see this one live. Could be really fun for the band, it has a piano track and the drums are very strong. Can see Lisa and LG working on this one. The bass player seems play the keyboard too?

  • soverymel

People seem to agree that Aftermath is the weaker track though.

Although there have been a handful of reviews that were lukewarm on the album, but liked Aftermath. For example in her twitter review of FYE, it was the only track that Whitney Pastorek from EW seemed to like.

For me, this is the track on the album that is the least pop and most straight rock (well, except for the Time for Miracles bonus track of course, but that’s complicated by the steel guitar in it that adds a little country vibe to the classic rock in the beginning). So for people who really like the electro-pop, or the rock infused pop, this is the furthest departure.

I don’t know enough about music to know whether it’s weak musically, but I will say it’s really grown on me. And it think it might be a consolation track for Adam fans who really did not want him to go to pop slash glam rock route.

  • Studio57

I don’t even watch Glee but when I was listening to PUU yesterday I thought that having a scene on that show where Adam is singing it would be PERFECTION.

I thought maybe they used that picture so that people will recognize him, those that saw him on AI. I would use one of the softer pictures from the album cover, you know where he blows a kiss or the one where he says shhh. But the more stipped down picture of him with ordinary clothes was awesome too, you know where he is like mirrored?

    SFW

“Aftermath” has lyrics that Adam wrote and he said somewhere that they were important to him. Every time I listen to it I read along with the lyrics.

  • Studio57

that’s true saga- he is more recognizable in the pic. Except for those dark circles under his eyes, lol. Maybe they are trying to catch the Twilight crowd :)

  • saga

For me, this is the track on the album that is the least pop and most straight rock.

You’re right, but it’s just that it’s the kind of rock I detest. Without any edge, softish. Not a fan of Daughtry rock.

  • saga

For me Aftermath is at least better than If Had You.

I think this a genre thing, “If I Had You” is totally eurodisco. I like the track, but I wish they’d not gone so very eurodisco on the chorus. But then, as a European, I am allergic to eurodisco, absolutely hate it. I see a lot of americans here liking it.

  • Chicagolaw

Aftermath may be the weak track, but there is a huge audience for this type of song—safe, message, HAC. Adam sounds beautiful on it, he wrote it, and I’m sure the message is close to his heart. It sounds a lot like Daughtry, and, no wonder, it was produced by Howard Benson.

  • ljsmack

Adam wrote aftermath according to an interview. He also had friends sing backup(allison porter etc). He said he wanted to make a personal statement. Since Allison tweeted celebrating two years of sobriety, I think it represents a “personal friends team lambert” an homage to the triumph of making it thru some tough times together.

  • gemini1

After reading so many reviews I am NOT suprised about the standouts because they are SO different in every review- just goes to show how many of the singles are so great.

That’s true! I’ve noticed that too. If the same exact two or three songs were mentioned in every review, it would point to a weak album.

  • Studio57

You’re right, but it’s just that it’s the kind of rock I detest. Without any edge, softish. Not a fan of Daughtry rock.

Me too. I detest Nickelback Rock, and was glad to hear Adam point that out to Whitney Pastorek yesterday when she tried unsuccessfully to compare his brand of rock to Nickelback. Mainstream rock is soooooo boring to me nowadays. I think Alternative and some pop rock is better. Mainstream to me is just people trying to recreate classic rock and failing. Nothing new or original about it.

Gemini- exactly! very well said: “If the same exact two or three songs were mentioned in every review, it would point to a weak album.”

saga- my older teen LOVED IIHY. I also can’t wait to work out to it!

  • saga

Mainstream to me is just people trying to recreate classic rock and failing. Nothing new or original about it.

The funny thing is that the classics were so much more edgy in arrangement and especially had better melodies.

ETA: They had better contrast somehow. Does that make sense?

  • saga

Btw, is Kris album still streaming anywhere?

  • soverymel

I went back and read Whitney’s Part 2 interview with Adam, the one about the music, and it is interesting to hear his point of view on Aftermath.

‘Aftermath’ is the one song that doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the album.
Sonically, it is a step out of the box ‘” but what’s funny is, I wrote that one. It was important for me to do a song with a message that was really close to my heart, but then sonically create something that was even more accessible than the rest of the album. I feel like it’s very friendly. And I wanted to do a song that had that real modern rock sound.

    http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/11/20/adam-lambert-ama-rehearsals/

  • Studio57

The funny thing is that the classics were so much more edgy in arrangement and especially had better melodies.

ETA: They had better contrast somehow. Does that make sense?

To me, yeah. There is a reason why “Don’t Stop Believeing” is still a hit on Itunes, and why some classic rock albums still sell- you can’t beat the original, so stop trying.

It’s kind of like horror movies. You can try to make something as scary as The Exorcist, Halloween, etc. But it just ain’t gonna happen. Okay, maybe Paranormal Society. Exceptions to every rule and all.

Ok, taking up this challenge, off to listen.

I’ve been listening to Pick U Up. He has amazing breathe control. After “…all my life.” I mean, I think it’s right where it sounds like it is. I don’t have a watch to time it. Or, maybe, we can’t be really sure until he sings it live.

  • Tess

After watching Carrie’s CMA video (a pre-cursor to the AMAs apparently) I just have to laugh. There are just some women in this world that no matter how hard someone tries they just don’t vamp or tramp up….ain’t going to happen. Carrie, bless her Barbie heart, just look’s like a little doll (yup the allusion is intentional) playing wannabe bar girl/western hooker chick.

And, I’m being shallow here, that, for me, will hold her back from ever having that really deep once in a lifetime super Country Anthem ’cause it seems to be all surface without a lot realistic “grit”. But then the girl is really successful and sells a ton so what does she or her fans care that she won’t ever match the likes of a Patsy Cline or Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette in my eyes. Different strokes for different folks.

  • soverymel

Has anyone figured out where Adam breaths yet in the bridge on PUU? I’m on my 800th listen and haven’t narrowed it down yet?

Seriously, it’s kind of insane. I try to sing along every time for the challenge, and I never make it to the end. I don’t know if he manages a secret breath in there somewhere somehow magically or something, or if the first breath is that quick one right between “… I’ve been waiting” and “Pass my time …” but it completely blows my mind. No wonder River called it the money moment.

  • Squirrely

crossing my fingers and hoping my cd from AO comes today please please please.

  • saga

Tess, I think he using really shallow breath-in that can’t be heard. Instead of taking one big breath you can automatically get air in with the right singing technique. I agree with you that the whole thing is VERY impressive though, because the latter part is one big arch of singing, no time for even small breaths.

  • Studio57

Me too squirrely- does it come UPS or in the actual mail?

  • mmb

I really like Aftermath — love when he sings “take a chance and fall into the glitter”…..but I am a child of the 80s and I really like that sort of stuff….but I do agree that it (and TfM) have a different tone and vibe than the other songs on the album and kind of stick out as “not belonging” if you know what I mean…i am just happy for Adam that the album is, in general, being so well received by the critics– not easy when you only have a few months to create the album

  • Tess

If someone ever has the opportunity via Twitter or an interview or if you ever meet the man would you ask him. I would so appreciate it.

  • tripp_ncwy

I still don’t get why some think it will be a little awkward with Adam performing and Kris only presenting. Kris’s style just may not be what they are looking for when setting up the performance lineup. This is no dis on Kris because we don’t know all the behind-the-scenes negotiations that go on. Kris is presenting and that is an honor in itself. I’m sure Kris had no control over the person he is presenting with but Demi does have a Disney fan base and a hit show that could introduce some of the Demi/David A. crowd to Kris. Disney does own ABC so this is strategic IMO. I personally would have liked to see Kris present with his celeb crush Shakira just to see him squirm.

  • Chicagolaw

I agree, saga, he definitely changed direction over the course of the tour and decided to go with more rock elements. There is a reason Red One is nowhere to be found and Cavallo has 4 tracks.

I’m also falling more and more in love with Strut. Kara is now completely redeemed in my eyes. I love the sort of growly effect he uses on the “open your mouth, open it wide” and similar verse lines. And damned if he doesn’t once again hit the bridge outta the park. I adore that wailing “… let me see you struuuuuu-uuuu-uuuuuuuuut” so much.

My favorites just keep changing, and then circling back on each other. I have the hardest time whenever I first open up iTunes trying to decide which track to play first. So. Much. Candy.

It seems like the AMA”s are going for big, splashy, and more music numbers this year. Although, when you compare Daughtry’s live concert Whole Lotta Love to Adam’s, well you just can’t. Kris might just be too low key.

  • gemini1

I’m sure Kris had no control over the person he is presenting with but Demi does have a Disney fan base and a hit show that could introduce some of the Demi/David A. crowd to Kris.

Maybe they are thinking of a tour? Kris could open for her.

  • dcglam

crossing my fingers and hoping my cd from AO comes today please please please.

    Me too, Squirrely…….
    I hope I don’t attack our poor postman! ;)

Don’t know much about Demi. but I don’t think that’s a good idea for Kris. He should tour with John Mayer, Ben Harper or even Lenny Kravitz
    type artists.

  • tj17

I know you can’t really compare AI seasons, but when did tour information come out last year?

  • ksgirlfordc

Kris does seem content to be mostly out of the spotlight, and I think he recognizes that Adam more than deserves the accolades he receives, but geez, he’s only human

Sorry but I don’t agree with this statement. Adam doesn’t deserve this any more than anybody else. He’s just been hpyed more. I honestly feel sorry for Kris. He was the winner, but they are treating Adam as if he won. Kris IS only human and deep down I bet he’s more than disappointed. JMO

  • girlygirl

Jive would be idiots to have Kris tour with Demi Lovato. Kris is NOT a tween. He is not a Disney Music type artist. It wouldn’t be a good idea at all.

Meanwhile, do we have confirmation from Adam, his management or anyone connected with the AMAs that Adam is closing the show? All I saw was an unattributed sentence in the Billboard article. Until I see someone actually connected to the show or to Adam confirm it, I’m not going to count on this being true. If it is, that’s great for Adam, but it just seems strange that that spot wouldn’t go to someone who is actually established, like Lady Gaga, for example.

  • girlygirl

I think that Kris is nothing but happy and excited for Adam. He might be a little disappointed that he wasn’t asked to perform, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be excited and happy for his friend.

  • glitter

Here is confirmation from 19 in the UK that Adam is closing the AMAs http://www.19.co.uk/news/

    Glitter

Cool! Thanks for the link. That is very exciting news for Adam.

  • 4Msrmyn

Feeling sorry for Kris is kind of insulting. I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way, but the boys are so different you just can’t expect them to be doing the same things. I really do think that the AMA’s are trying to best the Grammy’s with spectacular performances. Kris doesn’t do spectical(SP?).

Well, it;s not clear how much of a confirmation this is. But the 19 web site does seem to believe that it’s true:

    http://www.19.co.uk/news/

“19 look forward to a successful American Music Awards
    Friday 20th November 2009
Good luck to Carrie and Daughtry who are nominated at the American Music Awards this weekend. It promises to be an amazing night for 19′s talent with Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert all taking part. It will be Adam’s first post American Idol TV performance and he will be closing the show. The AMA’s are broadcast on ABC between 8-11pm PST on Sunday 22 November. “

  • tripp_ncwy

Just saw Kris on VH1′s Top 20 countdown. LLWD debuted at #16 and Kris introduced his video. He seemed very comfortable with the host, Jim Shearer. They joked about how Kris and Adam split his family over AI with half for Kris and half for Adam. Jim & Michael may get a little jealous.

Still don’t get why people want to feel sorry for Kris. He is getting to do exactly what he wanted to do. Some people may want to go take a good listen to “Let It Rain”. Kris is a much stronger person than people give him credit for. Can anyone else out there deal as well with all the pressure he has been under after he won and not have a mental breakdown? This is where a strong faith, spouse, friends and family come into play and from all accounts Kris has all of these. So, no pity party for Kris. He doesn’t need it. He will simple go out and do his thing.

  • LeHommeAdam

    Today

Kris Allen certainly has his work cut out for him. His album is expected to post the lowest first-week sales from an American Idol winner in the show’s eight seasons’”not that opening weeks mean everything. (Ruben Studdard’s best-ever first week didn’t exactly herald longevity.) And although Kris beat Adam Lambert for the AI title back in May, Adam seemed pre-destined to become the bigger media darling/pull-quote generatoron The Idolator

I don’t agree. I think Kris will do fine. I can’t wait for Ama’s Adam is going to blow ceiling off that place!

  • tj17

Girlygirl – Who would you like to see Kris tour with?

  • Kirsten

I know you can’t really compare AI seasons, but when did tour information come out last year?

I forget when the Davids’ tour information was out, but we found about the Jordin and Alicia tour in mid-Feb. So, it can be quite a wait if you want to synch up with a big tour.

Daughtry and Taylor started touring on their own and dates started showing up in January.

There are pluses and minuses with both. If you have your own tour, you get to be the main focus and potentially make (or lose) more money. If the tour is a huge success, you get the credit. If it flops, it’s all on you. Being the main draw means that you are mainly pulling in your own fans. Being an opener exposes you to new people, but it’s not all that profitable.

Carrie and Kellie both toured for Brad Paisley and that seemed to work out really well for them. Carrie can now tour on her own, but Kellie tours with her BFF Taylor Swift (and that’s a great gig, IMO). Jordin has toured with Brit and Alicia. Daughtry started out on his own tour to build up the band and then opened for Nickelback for a while (and Bon Jovi too, IIRC). He’s touring on his own now. Archie toured with Demi and did some of his own gigs. Cook has always headlined his own tours as did Taylor. Kat did some sort of mini-tour (and a few TV specials) and Blake did some touring on his own after he got dropped. Didn’t Fantasia tour with Jamie Fox? Clay toured with Kelly for a while and then did a bunch of solo tours. I’m forgetting a lot of people here.

  • lucy

Yay for Kris! Hope it stays on the countdown for a long time!

  • JazzRocks

Whether Adam closes the show or not (and it does appear that he will be doing just that), I am SO excited for this opportunity for him to show people who are out of the AI bubble just how talented he is.
And it’s true he has been hyped – by the media and many inside the music industry. They are obviously impressed with him. It really doesn’t matter much at this point who won AI.

  • girlygirl

I would prefer Kris to do what David Cook is doing. Do a solo tour of smaller venues, including college sites. After he does that, then try to get him on an arena tour with an established artist. I know people are suggesting John Mayer, but I’d rather he tour with someone he wouldn’t be constantly compared to. I don’t have any suggestions off the top of my head, though. Ooh, I thought of someone. Mat Kearney! That would be a tour of smaller venues, since Kearney isn’t a guy who plays arenas or stadiums. But they hit it off when they wrote their (unheard) song together and I bet Kris would enjoy touring with him. And they are less likely to be compared than Kris and John Mayer…

Music industry don’t care who won American Idol. Moreover Kris doesn’t care that he won American Idol. He is doing his music, promoting it and enjoying that his dreams are coming true. We should leave A. I. season 8 behind us, IMO.

Another stellar review for FYE. I really like this one even though it kind of lumped the dance tracks together. I love Strut, SFW, FYE, IIHY. They are all dancy but so different. Loaded Smile and Broken Open just kill me. Adam’s voice is small but so powerful.

  • Tess

Kris IS only human and deep down I bet he’s more than disappointed.

Ya know, I think Kris is OK with the way things are going. He didn’t head to the idol auditions hoping (like Adam did) that they would be his chance to finally get a really good break in the biz. In fact, didn’t Kris go because his brother wanted to and it was more of a ‘I don’t know what I want to do with my life so maybe I’ll give this shit a try’ type of moment.

I really think that Kris WAS surprised at the finals and I really think that he is pleased as punch with the opportunities he is getting. He seems to be trying real hard to hold on to his personal values while facing the tough business of “show business” and seems to be content with working on it slowly but surely. All of this is gravy to Kris…it is much, much better than being an unemployed college student worrying about how you are going to support your wife and (maybe) a family.

And, besides, I think Kris is smart enough to realize his own limitations and his need to acquire the stage presence that Adam had been working on for 8 years. Kris, I believe, is a realist even though his fans may not always be!

  • Mtlfan

Still don’t get why people want to feel sorry for Kris.

If he was Adam Lambert kind of artist, yes, I could see why maybe he could feel disapointed of getting less hype.
No need to pity Kris… he’s sooo thrilled to be able to put his music out there. As for the AMA, i’m sure he’s so glad to have this visibility, and for me , for you, only the flamboyant Adam could have a gig there without having a proven track record as an established artist having sold tons of records. I’m sure Kris is thrilled to see his friend Adam performing there

  • jinxx315

Kris doesn’t have the star quality that Adam does and anyone that thinks so needs to open their eyes. Kris is straight up boring and has no charisma. Could you imagine how boring it would be if Kris was closing the show?

  • chessguy99

Adam is going to be the last performer? Universal Music Group must love that; they have three of the hottest acts of the year, Lady GaGa, Rhianna and Black Eyed Peas. And some Sony new artist who hasn’t even got 500 radio spins in one week is going to close one of the most important music events of the year. If it doesn’t go perfectly, the UMG publicity machine will surely be in the ear of every morning radio show host that they can contact to spread their spin, “Why not Rhianna or GaGa, why this guy?” Even worse if he’s significantly out performed, there will be real uproar.

I hope it isn’t true, it would be risking much for what gain? The performance is enough promo for Adam, best not to grab for to much, to soon. Don’t make yourself a target for the fanbases of established hot artists.

This is not an American Idol endeavour. It doesn’t matter that Adam didn’t win. Obviously the AMA’s wanted him to perform. Is this going to happen everytime that Adam happens to land something a little better than Kris? If Kris is upset which I doubt he is, then he needs to toughen up.\

The most recent one they have already done? Or their next upcoming one? The last one they did was on Regis & Kelly this past Wednesday. Kris will be on Ellen on Monday — I’m assuming with the band…

Oh and Kris is NOT boring and he does NOT lack charisma. Just because he doesn’t do the big spectacle, does NOT mean he’s boring or lacks charisma. I like the big production stuff just fine, but I’m equally happy to watch the more simple, stripped back performances as well. Doesn’t have to be just one or the other.

This seems to be a completely baseless theory. I’m not going to waste my time borrowing trouble worrying about this.

so Adam and his peeps shld have turned down the pimp spot so as not to upset the other hot artists fans?. who cares what the other fans think?. it’s like turning down a promotion at work becos someone who was employed b/4 u didn’t get it. who does that?.

for all we know Adam is going last becos he’s the newest and hasn’t paid his dues. people are generally tired and sleepy by the end anyway. we dont know that where u perform on the AMA’s is significant , there’s no voting afterwards like idol so what exactly is closing the show gonna do for an act ?. I think opening the show is more important and that’s why Janet got it.

  • girlygirl

And again, I sincerely doubt Kris is upset that Adam is getting this great opportunity. Likewise, I doubt that Adam is upset that Kris’ single is doing better on the charts than Adam’s right now. These guys aren’t stupid, they realize that now that AI is over, they aren’t going to be getting the same opportunities all the time, and that they may have different levels of success. As long as they are getting to do what they love, and are happy with how their careers are doing, why would they be anything other than happy and excited for their friend?

  • manny

Adam is closing the show probably because he’s new, young and fresh. Look at the roster. How many times has everyone seen most of those acts perform either at the VMA’s, PCA’s, CMA’s, AMS’s, grammies etc for years. Yawn.

  • saramcvt

While I am very nervous about Adam closing the show, I trust that there is some “method to the madness.” BB is a great stage performer and singer, so I have confidence in his ability to put on a great show.

Kris is adorable, sweet, and very talented. The AMA’s is not the best venue for his style of music. Best to market him in the manner that suits his capabilities. Big flashy numbers with dancers and pyro is NOT Kris. With the big names performing huge production numbers, a sit down with a guitar would pale too much for this show. Kris will get his big moments to shine, I have no doubt! Peace!

  • larchcat

Well I am glad Kris is presenting. I really like his laid back presence and he is naturally funny – I don’t even know who Demi Lovato is though.

Thanks for Huffington Post review! That is a great incredibly insightful review. I swear to God this guy was in my head – I was thinking about Off the Wall last night because I was thinking that many artists BEST albums were not their firsts – it takes time to get there. I was thinking of a list that included my favorite big artists and with only one exception, (GUns N ROses Appetite for Destruction debut that was defnitely their best and totally groundbreaking) I was thinking that their most critically acclaimed and most successful albums were not their first . . And of course I thought of Off the Wall which is brilliant of course but merely a taste of the genius and massive appeal to come in Thriller. Some others like this: Nirvana Nevermind (Bleach was first) Beatles (I don’t think anyone considers Meet the Beatles their best – but I don’t think I need to go on . . Revolver, Revolution, Sgt. Peppers) Led Zeppelin (1 was great but they just got better most hard core fans love Physical Graffitti and the fourth album sold the most) I could go on and on but I think that’s my point.

And speaking of which, for me there is a total “Off the Wall” sounding moment in the middle of “Sure Fire Winners”.

And since I haven’t had a chance to say anywhere else, I liked everything (Loaded Smile is my least favorite though) the EPIC tracks for me are: Music Again, Sure Fire Winners, Fever, Pick U Up, Soaked and Broken Open. Second AWESOME category is FYE, Strut, If I had U, Aftermath. 3rd level GOOD is WYWFM, Sleepwalker, Loaded Smile

  • becausehelives

anyway yayyyyy for closing the show. if Adam performed earlier in the show i wld have switched to cold case or Dexter but since he’s closing i am watching the whole thing just in case they make changes and he comes on earlier. who knows UMG might rethink it after reading the concerns people seem to have.

  • tj17

As long as they are getting to do what they love, and are happy with how their careers are doing, why would they be anything other than happy and excited for their friend?

ITA!! I wonder if Kris got to watch any of Adam’s rehearsals for the AMAs?

  • Kirsten

Could you imagine how boring it would be if Kris was closing the show?

I’ve seen him close a couple of television shows. Highly rated television shows. People seemed to find something to like because they kept voting for him. He can close a show.

Look, I don’t think Kris should be closing or even performing at the AMAs. That’s usually reserved for big names. It’s not news, IMO, that he is not. What is unusual is for somebody with no radio track record and no hit iTunes single to be there. That’s the news. Adam is a good performer and I have no doubt he’ll put on a amazing show.

See, Adam is getting an amazing opportunity. Kris is getting to present when a lot of new artists can’t even get a seat in the place. I can be thrilled for Adam and still be very happy for Kris. There in the real music biz these days and I have to measure them against other artists. Not just each other. They are each having their own successes.

To me, this is like saying “Oh, Adam got into Oxford. Poor Kris, he has to make do with Harvard” (not to start a university fan war).

I have my PVR set for Sunday night and I made sure that I set the recording up for the show after the AMA so I will not miss recording Adam’s performance. I still intend on watching it though even though I have to be up at 4:30 am the next morning.

ITA with this. While, if it’s true that Adam’s going last, it’s a great spot for him since his album comes out within hours of the show’s ending, I doubt it’s really considered the best spot of the show. I do think he’s going later because of the adult theme of his performance, but I would guess that he was slated last just because he’s the new kid on the block.

  • revcat

Is there video of the Kris Allen VH1 interview? I missed it this morning.

The show is replayed several times during the week including Sunday morning.

  • schufly

So for some totally irrational reason, I too am feeling nervous about Adam’s performance. And then I start asking myself… Did he ever have a bad performance on Idol? Did he ever blow one during the tour? Did he stumble in any live performance after the finale? As a matter of fact, have we ever seen a video or heard of a performance that was anything but stellar from him? I think not! He is a stunning performer and all of us who have followed him and believe in him need to keep doing that and be TOTALLY excited about tomorrow. He’s gonna KILL it! I can’t wait.

And I don’t think it really matters where in the show his performance is. It will be memorable wherever they place him. I just hope that people who haven’t heard of him turn their TVs off before he comes on. That would suck.

Feel sorry for Kris Allan? The economy the way it is and people looking for jobs I really think not.Kris Allen is really fortunate and like Tess eluded to knows it. Who knows what lies ahead for him music wise at least he has a chance and the press and American Idol is at least giving him a fair shake.

Adam is different which grabs the attention of the media and Kris is a different person.Kris Allan being boring is ones persons take musically personally some of it is less exciting.Peeps out there enjoy it music.

One of my favorite songs “The Piano Man” I really could see Kris Allen singing it..

Hmm, I barely even need to comment when you say it so well for me :)

Kris is neither boring nor uncharasmatic. I think he comes across really well on tv, and I believe his performances touch people. He won AI for a reason.

I also adore the spectacle that is Adam, and I think he’ll do just fine Sunday regardless of where in the show he peforms. I also doubt that there is some rabid, underground Rihanna “fanbase” lying in wait to bring down Adam’s career LOL. He’s got a great opportunity here, and I really do hope it works for him.

I wouldn’t be too concerned with where or with whom Kris appears in the show. Mostly, this is an opportunity for him to remind all of the people watching who he is, and keep himself in their memory bank for their next trip to Walmart. Also, his co-presenter is not a concern for me, because I do not think that “Disney” is contagious.

I have not watched a full show in many years, but I think the last act is right before the Album of the Year award and usually the performer is someone nominated in the category..

  • schufly

I can’t seem to edit my previous comment, but I meant to say that I hope that people who have not heard of him DON’T turn their TVs off before the end. I know I would have a tendancy to do that if it is getting late and someone I’d never heard of was performing.

I keep looking at the reahearsal videos and it is going to be a great show. Not only will it be visually stunning, Adam’s voice will be amazing and really get people’s attention. Most live shows that have lots of dancing have bad vocals, or they just lip sync. Adam’s gonna show em how it’s done!

  • SpenserJ

One of my favorite songs ‘The Piano Man’ I really could see Kris Allen singing it..

poporange, oh! it’s a favorite of mine too. Yes i think it would be cool to see Kris sings it.

As a rabid Billy Joel uber-tard, I say bite your tongue! No one sings Piano Man, unless they are the mother f*ckin’ piano man. Of course, Kris has my blessing to sing any other Billy tune that strikes his fancy :)

Thanks girlygirl. I still think the band is a bit “untight” especially before the guitars comes in. Can’t really pinpoint what is not working for me. Maybe the arrangement, in the beginning it feels like the drummer, Cale and Kris are all running in the opposite direction.

  • Studio57

for all we know Adam is going last becos he’s the newest and hasn’t paid his dues. people are generally tired and sleepy by the end anyway. we dont know that where u perform on the AMA’s is significant , there’s no voting afterwards like idol so what exactly is closing the show gonna do for an act ?. I think opening the show is more important and that’s why Janet got it.

You do know how ratings work, right? Opening the show is very important- that is correct, but maybe you can find one instance at an awards show where they put the new kid on last? Or even a boring one because yawn! people are sleepy.

They save the best performance for last. That’s why they call it a showstopper. They DON’T want people to go to sleep, they want people to stay to the end. Otherwise they would be puting Whitney Houston and her 1,202nd comeback last.

  • Squirrely

They DON’T want people to go to sleep, they want people to stay to the end. Otherwise they would be puting Whitney Houston and her 1,202nd comeback last.

Be kind to Whitney – she’s been through a tough time.

  • Mtlfan

i think it’s so cool that Adam is closing the show. While the end of the show marks the end of this past music industry year, it, at the same, opens up a new music year by introducing Adam. I’m pleased with this symbolic :)
Usually i don’t listen to this show but will this year to see Kris presents; he will be gorgeous in a grey suit with black piping. I don’t know Demi Lovato but i’m interested to see the intereaction.
Want to see Adam’s FYE also

  • saga

Otherwise they would be puting Whitney Houston and her 1,202nd comeback last.

LOL! We’ll back in her days she could blow audiences away, not sure these days. Even Mariah is a lot weaker which makes me wonder if they’re all on drugs. Thank god Christina seems to stay away from them!

Be kind to Whitney ‘“ she’s been through a tough time.

She’s too easy a target. It’s like kicking a puppy. And, I remember seeing Whitney live in when I was in high school. She was the very definition of fierce. She was absolutely, without question, totally amazing.

“Kris is neither boring nor uncharasmatic. I think he comes across really well on tv, and I believe his performances touch people. He won AI for a reason. ”

sorry to disagree, I think Kris comes across well when he is with someone he feels comfortable with..such as Jim, Michael and especially Adam..sometimes he shows no enthusiasm and is hard to understand becauses he tends to mumble.. when he is with the three mentioned above, he is great and his personality comes through

  • melirose89

im sorry but i think presenting with a Disney star is kind of embarassing especially when Adam is probably closing the show. i dont think Kris wants to be clumped up with Disney stars like that. He deserves better. people like Archuleta make sense because they have that tween disney appeal, and has appeared on Disney which i always knew he would, but Kris is a more serious artist. it’s just ugh…embarassing. still glad he’ll be at the AMAs at least.

  • alwaysintrouble

I hope it isn’t true, it would be risking much for what gain? The performance is enough promo for Adam, best not to grab for to much, to soon. Don’t make yourself a target for the fanbases of established hot artists.

Unlike AI artists most fans of other artists don’t view every person as competition, perhaps they will just like seeing a hot performance?

I wonder, at what point does Adam need to stop showing deference to everyone else? First he should turn down all the PR he’s being offered because he didn’t win and Kris did. Now he should turn down performing last because he hasn’t achieved the same success as others? I don’t get it.

I just hope that people who haven’t heard of him turn their TVs off before he comes on. That would suck.

I assume you meant to say you hope they DON’T turn their tv off LOL…

I can’t think of anyone who will be watching this show, honestly, who hasn’t heard of him at least on some level. he was on the cover of Rolling Stone, he’s been featured on ET, AH, Extra and various other entertainment type programs. He’s been written about in EW, People, Us, etc. The idea that there are still people out there who follow this type of thing and yet still don’t have at least a passing knowledge of Adam is funny to me.

  • PattyH

So for some totally irrational reason, I too am feeling nervous about Adam’s performance. And then I start asking myself’ ¦ Did he ever have a bad performance on Idol? Did he ever blow one during the tour? Did he stumble in any live performance after the finale?

I’m not worried at all. Adam has been performing LIVE almost his whole life! He’s already performed at The Nokia twice on very big nights.
It’s recording and making albums he had little experience at and he just “aced” that!
    So, “No worries!”

  • watt

    Thanks Squirrely.
I just want to be sure that Adam’s performance won’t be cut off in case the show runs out of time. I think closing the show is more significant. The chance is that people miss the opening act more than the last act.

  • gangreen29

They save the best performance for last. That’s why they call it a showstopper. They DON’T want people to go to sleep, they want people to stay to the end. Otherwise they would be puting Whitney Houston and her 1,202nd comeback last.

Not the best performance, the most anticipated performance. They make the decision on who is going where before they do a run through or anything, so we have no idea what the quality of Adam’s performance is compared to everyone else, just that Adam has a rabid fan base coming of American Idol that is clamoring to watch him sing his new single live for the first time, and will sit through the whole show and wait to see it. They know probably a lot of these fans don’t fit their typical 18-34 bracket, and so if he was earlier in the show many would turn it off because they have no interest in BEP or Gaga.

To the people freaking out about Kris presenting with Demi, who cares? It is like two minutes, awards shows always have some wacky pairings, and I don’t think a single person watching will now assume Kris is making Disney music.

  • Nobody 44

See, Adam is getting an amazing opportunity. Kris is getting to present when a lot of new artists can’t even get a seat in the place. I can be thrilled for Adam and still be very happy for Kris….They are each having their own successes. Agree!

Adam as the “finale” of the show, wow. No more complaining about RCA’s handling of Adam’s rollout for me. Most Fascinating People with Barbara?! With there only being 10 on that list, what a “get” for the Fierce One! I’m not going to throw around words like “iconic” yet, but this is a great start.

Kris will be invited to perform for other events. Jason Mraz and others of that ilk are popular and have staying power. I like that music too. He will be able to make a good living in music, with his single getting stronger on the charts each day. As for Demi, ask any pre-teen who she is. The Disney audience is nothing to sneeze at. Those are the kids who helped put Owl City on top. If Kris can get a foot in that door, good.

im sorry but i think presenting with a Disney star is kind of embarassing especially when Adam is probably closing the show.

Yes, because a reality show star has so much more credibility than a Disney star. It’s like how those wretched Glee kids keep getting covers of songs high up on the chart on iTunes when all they do is sing them on a popular show.

LOL. He’s just starting out. Demi is fine. Archie survived presenting with the starlette he presented with last year. At least Demi has some hits on the radio and a significant number of the kids will know who she is.

  • soverymel

Do they ever give a standing O on the AMAs?

Let’s not get carried away here! This is a show packed with really impressive performers, and the audience is full of talented people as well. I don’t think it’s the type of crowd likely to leap to it’s feet no matter who is performing, let alone Adam, LOL.

  • PattyH

I don’t think it’s the type of crowd likely to leap to it’s feet no matter who is performing, let alone Adam, LOL.

Actually, a crowd like this is usually very supportive of their own. Don’t forget, the public was able to by tickets also.

  • 4Msrmyn

From what I’ve read, Adam is always an enthusiastic audience member. He stands and cheers and whistles.

Yes, I agree, exciting and emotional, but with regards to that comment – I was serious… I have watched tons of these shows and with a few exceptions, the performers can either sing, or put on a show, but it is a rare few that can do both and do it well. We know that Adam is truly gifted this way and I think he’ll demonstrate why all the hype has substance. I am not saying that no one has anything to offer…. that would be ridiculous, but I do think that Adam is a rare gem, and I hope will be a notch more amazing than the rest.

The idea that there are still people out there who follow this type of thing and yet still don’t have at least a passing knowledge of Adam is funny to me.

Anybody bothering to tune into the AMA show probably is more aware of current happenings (such as the Adam buzz) in the music world than those who choose not to watch. However, not everyone has heard of Adam and not everyone who has heard of him has actually watched him perform. Viewers hearing and seeing him for the first time will hopefully be blown away and head over to iTunes to check out his CD.

  • mr

Well, I’m sure as hell not worried about Adam’s performance! I’m just really excite to see him perform live again! Even though I won’t be seeing it live, but only after mj posts the video for it…

And this is where I want to thank mj once again, on behalf of all the international fans, who otherwise aren’t always able to see their fav idols’ performances, because it doesn’t air in our countries!

    So THANK YOU MJ!!!

  • Tess

Gee, my friend hasn’t bought a CD in 40 years and she doesn’t know who either Kris Allen or Adam Lambert are. My neighbor down the street is raising 4 kids under 5 and she doesn’t know who they are? My old boss is a workaholic and the only music he listens to is the choir singing in church on Sunday and he hasn’t heard of Adam or Kris.

It’s all about context, everyone. If you are a pop music fan then you probably have an inkling about who Kris and Adam are. And if you watch the AMAs because you enjoy music you’ll know who Kris and Adam and even who Demi is. It’s all about “interest” and what you are “interested” in. It’s like I bet you I would be hard pressed to name 1 current NHL player…so why would a hockey fanatic know who Adam is?

  • 4Msrmyn

schufly-my hopes, too. I’m not talking about you, but unintended or not so unintended put-downs of other performers. Adam is so talented. Just my opinion, but some people think that casting other singers in an unfavorable light makes the light shine brighter on Adam. To me, this tarnishes the light. This is irksome. Make it a clean compliment, unless you are talking about Gene Simmons. LOL

There in the real music biz these days and I have to measure them against other artists. Not just each other. They are each having their own successes.

To me, this is like saying ‘Oh, Adam got into Oxford. Poor Kris, he has to make do with Harvard’ (not to start a university fan war).

    Very well said Kirsten…..and I agree 100%

  • dhunken

The one advantage I see about going last on the AMA’s is it is right before all the hot new CD come out. Adam will probably be performing closest to midnight when his CD will be available. If he performs like I think he will he will be the freshest in the minds of the viewers and has the best chance of someone buying his album. IMHO

Oh, Adam, this 46-year old (BUT VERY YOUTHFUL!!!) person loves you. IKR? I want to go to your GLAM 2010 Tour with the fire and the flying. I love that he always mentions previous Idols (Kelly can sing her face off–familiar?!). He is so articulate, so humble, so savvy in a good way–melting in a pool of Adam.

dhunken, my bestest buddy, you are so right. You can download the album right afterwards, if epic fail iTunes lets you. Meanwhile, epic fail AO has not yet delivered my CD. Tiny tears.

And I think it’s great that Kris gets to present. Next year I hope he gets to perform as well, unlike Cook (SCORNED).

  • mr

Sue- yep- he is always adorable, isn’t he? Love the way he says he plans on him and Mary J being best friends by the end of the show…lol… and I don’t doubt it- he’s just so friendly and sweet!

    ITA.

Adam’s gonna do JUST FINE. He has been performing professionally for 10 years (including doing The 10 Commandments, where he totally outshone Val Kilmer, tho maybe that wasn’t that hard, considering how Vilmer can’t carry a tune). Adam is so excited about his performance and so am I, and if ABC/RCA/19 had any concerns about his ability, there is no way in hell they would have placed him last. Not a chance in hell.

  • lisush

    mr –
You seem to be well informed…

Agree, and I didn’t mean to do this. He won’t need others to do poorly, in order for him to look good.

That last interview posted is great. His comments on the questions about nerves were perfect. He definitely has the right attitude about feeling excited and happy, rather than nervous. There is a lot of pressure on him….

As for it hitting the stores in various parts of the world- I haven’t got a clue… but I think I’ll go into a CD store this week and ask them when it should be expected- maybe that’s what you shpuld do too…

Sue Brody, sorry you don’t have yours, but perhaps vicariously you can picture this–

Me (61 year old mother of two early 30′s kids) in surburban Indianapolis, opening her mailbox and seeing the CD pkg and jumping up and down and going “YES, YES!” praying that I hadn’t ordered anything else from Amazon due to ship. Picture the neighbors who are outside, coming over and asking if I won the lottery or what was causing the squee. (They didn’t say squee of course. I didn’t do a Jim C Puppy, but I guess it was noteworthy for me.)

Can’t wait until tomorrow night, however, I think I’ll keep the blinds closed!

  • schufly

So happy… just checked the mailbox, and there it was, in a small, plain brown cardboard box…. but waiting inside, my very own deluxe edition of FYI, along with little picture book. Exploding with glitter and fireworks (and lots of pretty pictures).

My day is now officially perfect. Excuse me while i just listen for a while….

Think of us poor souls who pre-ordered the regular-deluxe edition (is that what it was called? the one with the 3 extra tunes?) on iTunes. I presume it will show up Monday morning on my computer, magically downloaded. However, I didn’t realize that the Deluxe-deluxe version in hard copy would come one or two days early to those who wanted the picture booklet thingy!! :-( I’m getting it with the unwashed masses, rather than with the extra special fans (the ones he apparently thanked when he thanked “the universe.”)

Guess I’m just a “regular” fan, and not deluxe. Is my money still good around here?

  • schufly

However, I didn’t realize that the Deluxe-deluxe version in hard copy would come one or two days early to those who wanted the picture booklet thingy!!

I didn’t realize it either, but very happy. I ordered one from Amazon too, so we’ll see when that shows up . The deluxe version was from adamofficial.com. I think you can still order one if you want the little book. Some would argue that it is not worth the extra $$$, but I love it. And you get the free downloads of the extra songs.

ps – one of the pics in the book is the same as his current twitter wallpaper – the reflection that looks like he is tongue-to-tongue with himself.

I don’t know why anyone should put down Demi Lovato. Didn’t Justin Timberlake and a lot of other stars start out as Disney artists? This is from Wikipedia:

Besides acting, she is also a solo music artist and released her debut album Don’t Forget on September 23, 2008. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 selling over 89,000 copies in the first week. Lovato released her second album, Here We Go Again, on July 21, 2009. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 selling over 108,000 copies in the first week.

Personally I have to respect that kind of popularity. So what if she appeals mainly to young people? They buy a lot of music.

  • alwaysintrouble

I didn’t know Adam’s bi-curiousity led him to have oral sex with a woman.

ok alwaysintrouble, I guess that clears that up. I just never knew of any gay man (that I know-and I know alot) that had those tendencies. (experimenting) we/they all steer clear of vaginas and kissing girls no matter how drunk we are. It is second nature to rule them out. I love Adam just the same. Gay, Bi or heteresexual. All I care is the man and the music. thank you!

Everyone needs to chill about the Kris-Demi pairing. It was probably a random thing. I was a little confuzzled when I first heard it, but I’ve never even evaluated previous awards shows before based on who was presenting with who. Kris will be fine. I’m excited about his outfit LOL it will be nice to see him looking snazzy and sharp again like in Rat Pack week – he was a total hottie in that gray suit he wore.

  • Lynneville

Wow! The CD sounds so great! Just listened to Broken Open with headphones and am crying actual tears. It is amazing!

  • KLI

My cd came today and I gave it to my 13 y/o daughter to open. She ripped it open, held the booklet to her face and said “it smells so good! That’s so Adam!” then she opened the book with the lyrics and immediately focused on the first line of Fever, read it, and then said Oh my gosh, he’s talking about his gayness. I can’t believe it!!” she then listened to four songs, turned it off, and went back to reading new moon for the 10th time. She loved the song!! We’ll be listening to the cdas we drive to my hometown for thanksgiving.

Don’t think I’ll get up…my kids already think I’m nutso! But if my hubby’s alarm (he gets up at 5:30) happens to wake me up – I’ll turn on the TV, or just set to record and watch it when I get up.
