I would think that Jive doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t give a crap about what position an Idol finished in, or even if they are an Idol. Idol is over and done with. Jive wants Allison apparently. She looks to have one of the most top notch teams you can have. Their concern is only going to be Allison. When her album is ready, and when they think it should come out is when I think it will come out. I know some fans are under the impression that she is already working on her album – ahead of Kris and Adam. Kelly Picklerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s came out first. Archie had a single out before Cook. I think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a possibility weà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll have an October Allison record. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m thrilled it will be pop rock. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s going to be huge. All over TV and radio. So, in that regards sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be bigger than Daughtry.

The records don’t come out in order of how they finished on the program. Just last year, DA’s came out before DC’s. Kellie’s came out whenever because she was doing country and Kat’s record had nothing to do with hers. People need to understand that Idol is a tv show. When it ends, the top 10 are in the real world. The real world doesn’t operate according to Idol rules. The real marketplace has its own logic and its own rules.

I’m thrilled, but not surprised, that Allison is being signed and will have top-notch support. I expected no less. I feel that she and Adam were the most talented from the season, followed by Kris. Allison is my favorite, I love her voice, and her personality and attitude, she’s going to be a big, big star, she’s incredible. Can’t wait.

Can someone answer me this question? If Kris and Adam are both coming out with albums in the fall would there single be out this summer?

In the past, Jive released Idol lead-off singles in early August. RCA seems to normally releases the first Idol single closer to the time of the album release (a couple of weeks before or after (so late October to early December). Last year, RCA decided to release Cook’s first single at the beginning of September.

I agree she’s not really Disney type pop rock, she’s more Paramore type pop rock. But I don’t think we have to worry about Jive Disney-ing her, they are not really that type of label. They are parking Archie there for now, but they thrive on mainstream pop hits. I bet they go Paramore lite/Pink-ish with Allison.

As for her first album, I am sure Jive (or whatever other label) will make her record during the tour to release the album sometime next fall, this is how they get the most advantage from the idol exposure.
I hope/expect that she will do rock/pop stuff first a la Kelly/Pink because it’s probably what she wants to do right now and it’s probably where the money is too. IMO, she has the less question marks of the 3 because we all know what she wants to do, it is a successfull genre and 19/Sony has proved they can manufacture a good album in that vein.

Alison is NOT going to appeal to Nirvana/ NIN-type fans. Pink is indeed the proper point of reference although they will definitely cross-market her to Disney.

Oh. Then I, personally, am an outlier. Being that I am a fan of NIN and Nirvana, never watched Idol before this year, am not a fan of Pink, and am a fan of Allison. I guess I am not at all typical :smile2_tb:.

I really think her appeal is broader than just Pink and Disney. That it would be a mistake for her to do the kind of silly songs that she would be expected to do if she went that direction. I hope she stays a bit darker.

And if Kurt Cobain didn’t want me to consider him pop he shouldn’t have written such catchy songs :smiley2_tb:. He wrote some of the best pop music ever.

TYTY for the rumor. Nice to again have a place to speculate about our fav, or semi-fav as the case may be.

Allison does have the great rocker voice and edgier image/personality that could give her an easier route to the Top 40 charts and mass popularity with teens/young adults, not just tweens. They could easily have her start opening for Pink, Kelly Clarkson, etc. for example if she goes pop/rock.

David A. has a unique, gorgeous pure voice. He shines the most on music with meaninful lyrics that allow him to make a heart connection (like Imagine) or that he can relate to (Crush). He has great interpretative skills. But right now there is a bit of a disconnect between his persona (young for his age) and his greatest talents, which really lie with more mature/meaningful material. He just needs to get some experience and a little more maturity to come into his own, and I think the tours he’s been on and will go on this summer are great for that.

Good news for Allison, if true. I’m not expecting greatness out of her first album, but I think she could be a very good recording artist down the road. She is the most talented teen ever on Idol. Mileage, of course.
