pj said: I hope someone snaps her up! I would if I were a record exec!

19~ has an option. I am almost positive (or afraid) 19 will exercise the option. She is the hottest new female entertainer in the USA (IMHO). AND, if 19~ exercises their option she, practically, will become their property.

IF the excerpts (Google) that I have seen are actual terms in the AI contract, she would be in bondage forever. At 17 (a minor), she has an extremely good chance of voiding the contract. I don't believe any lawyer would let her sign such an instrument. The purported terms are so extreme that the contract, or parts, are, possibly, not enforceable. BUT, BIG money to attack such when an adult (didn't K Clarkson go thru that recently).

If the contract were rescinded, she could negotiate better terms with 19. The value of 19's contribution would possibly would be awarded, but I think that a court probably would not because of the abusive terms. Another label would probably be the better choice.

I understand 19~ exercises it's options in short order, and possibly releases contestants that will not be picked up quickly. We will see. It's pretty obvious that I would get her out of the contract (if terms are as I THINK).

She is only 17. She needs the best advice before binding. I'm positive 19 has considered the problem with minors, and it has taken every possible avenue to get around the problem. They may just take a chance that the issue won't be brought up.

What a great interview! I'm impressed that she was doing new songs (to her) so much of the time -- I think it was Matt Giraud who said he only picked songs he knew because it's too risky to do something he wasn't familiar with. But Allison went for it and had some lovely moments. She knows how to interpret a song and has that incredible voice. Adam-Allison duet = one of the most fun idol performances ever!

FIrst, kudos to Slezak for having THE BEST exit interviews of any of the reporters. His questions are always interesting, well thought out, and different. He also treats all the idols with respect and is honest about what he has said about them in the past.

I loved this interview with Allison. She's articulate, self-aware, honest, and fun. She also gives credit to others - it's not all ME ME ME. Slezak even managed to suppress some of his fan-girly feelings toward her - some :)

THe girl is a huge talent and we will definitely be hearing from her. I wanted her to be Top 3 and would have been totally ok with her winning. There was only a slim chance of that with the show's agenda this year. I was very irritated with the 'she's only 16' throughout the show. To me it was a subliminal to not vote for her.

Regarding Kris getting the Motown week song for her, this backs up what I had heard before. I forget if it was Rickey Minor or Michael Orland who had said that Kris has extensive musical knowledge and helped many of them with song choice and arrangements. THis was particularly evident Michael Jackson week.

Allison is so appealing. I'm looking forward to youtubes of her from the tour (since I won't be going this year). Also, the rumors have her duet-ing with Cyndi Lauper on the finale! that would great, I think.
Go Allison! have a great career!

I love Allison, I would have loved an Allison v. Adam final, but I am glad she has the chance to show her awesomeness now before the idol finale and all of the hooplah. She's a genuine talent.

I think a lot of the contestants helped each other out in various ways. It's cool of Allison to give props when they are due, though.

Like Star, I also liked when she talked about her duet with Adam because that was a highlight for me, too. They had great chemistry together. I loved it when she came out all fierce. Then, he did, too, but he glanced over at her and a big grin crossed his face.

I also didn't care for Simon's comments after the duet, but that's neither here or there now. Going at 4th is great. She gets the benefit of the press saying she got robbed and also a full press tour. The third place finisher gets some press, but the buzz is all about the top 2. I would have loved an Allison/Adam finale, but I think Kris really proved himself last week. It's all good.

I think Michael Slezak was touched by Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s generousity and kindness.

Kris is generous and Kind? Wow, what we glean from watching 1minute performances via tv is amazing.

If you have been reading the recaps of the show by other EW writers would see that Kris has always been great to Allison. The 1st time she was in the bottom 3 the next week Allison blew it out of the water and Kris ran over to her, hugged her and picked her and was truly joyous about Allison's performance that saved her.

Early on Paula and Kara said that Kris also has helped the other contestants practice their songs and accompanied them, which Simon was not pleased with.

I guess people have short memories.

My 12 year old daughter loved Allison right away. I was really impressed when she sang Alone. Although, she's got terrific vocal ability and a distinct sound, I think she would have been cut if she'd sang Beat It. Her journey on Idol might have very well ended then and there as even with great song choices, she ended up in the bottom three quite a bit. I tip my hat to Kris. I think Michael Slezak was touched by Kris's generousity and kindness. I certainly was when I heard it.

Idolatry rocks!
These guys are really passionate about AI, their interviews are 10 times more interesting than everybody elses combined.

Allison does have great prospects despite finishing fourth.
Can't wait to see what she does in the future.

For me she is the potential breakout star of AI8 regardless of who wins. I am seriously questioning the judges of this show. Simon can be a total idiot at times. He didn't get Daughtry. He frequently calls rockstar performances indulgent until Adam Lambert becomes TCO. He ruined DC's immaculate performance of TWIK at last years finale because he was peeved and didn't "get it." The live audience, Paula and Randy did until Simon kicked the rug out from under DC. He completely downplayed Allison's and to some extent Kris's talents, performances and trashed very likeable, normal people. Don't get me started on Anoop who I didn't even like that well. Yeah, I'm still pissed at Simon because he managed to early on portray DC as pompous, arrogant, indulgent, noncharismatic, etc--none of them at all reality, but it still stings. Since I was hyper-invested in DC, I thought I was just being oversensitive and vowed to watch this season as a more objective observer which I think I have mostly accomplished. I've had my favorites--Allison and to a lesser extent Kris, but haven't visited fansites, looked up old music, etc. but I am still mad as hell at Simon's lack of respect for Allison. Even when she tore it up with Adam on their great duet, he put all the credit on Adam not her. Simon, all successful singers do not have to be blond and beautiful (Carrie, Kelly P) or statuesque and cute (Jordin). I "got" Allison's personality just fine through my tv set and she has more musicality in her little finger than most of the current crop of girls lighting up the pop charts and she's only 17!!!!!

Sorry, it just felt good to get that off my chest. Thank god I'm not hyper-invested this year. Heh!
