Allison Iraheta opened the Glam Nation tour in Wilkes-Barre, PA Friday night with a bang. Check out her set list: Holiday, Still Breathing, Scars, Don’t Waste the Pretty, a cover of Heartbreaker and Friday I’ll be Over U.

Fellow show opener, Orianthi, joined Allison on stage for some shredding during the red-headed rocker’s new single, “Don’t Waste the Pretty.”

Hey jordison, she did have fun at WB from the latest vids, no doubt. I like her set opening with Holiday, and I think Holiday, DWTP & FIBOU will remain constant through out the tour, but alternating the other two songs. Im hoping she drops FIBOU soon enough and add new ones like Pieces, DWBW & TI, though it seems Jive has a strong hold on Alis selections. I also want/would love for her to cover something a little more current, but still somehow throw-in Heartbreaker for respect and authority – I love the riff through out the track, and of course, the homerun solo by Immerman. Jordison, ya gotta admit, she had more fun at Jersey.

Alli lurker, how was Pearl Jam? Im glad you saw them. I think Ali can cover anything Eddie Vedder and sound as if she wrote it. Couple songs – Yellow Ledbetter and Daughter for Allison = win.

I’m guessing that the additional songs for the longer set will all be ones she’s done lately: Killing Me Softly, No One Else, the Joplin medley – Beat Me Up really winded her in Long Beach and I’m wondering if she wants to take that one again with a longer set. She also did Papa Was a Rolling Stone in Bali, so, maybe? It seems like Trouble Is has been held in reserve – hopefully for a strategic drop in the future. Of course, since I said that she’ll probably sing it tomorrow (today for you east coast people).

Have you guys really looked at the Starland FIBOU video on the Alliholics site? (Last one before the Kfest vid) Its FANTASTIC!!! She gives such a great performance, so much energy – LOVE it!! Its funny how she gets the audience to sing all of the ohohoh’s. This might be my favorite song of the set. I definitely think she had more fun the second night. Probably less nerves and the venue may have played a part. She looks really close to the audience in NJ.

I’ve bitched about Holiday in the past but she clearly loves singing it and it really is a great opener. I think its suits her better now than when she was younger.

Rub – Pearl Jam was great. I’m probably not as huge a fan as you, but I like them a lot and they played all my favorites… Better Man, Daughter, Nothing Man, Alive. I had been wanting to go back to this event for years, and when I saw they were making their first appearance there I knew it was time. (That plus Aretha, who I would have loved to see. I didn’t even know she canceled until they announced Earth, Wind, and Fire in her place. I was like WTF??)

Like I said, she’s turning into quite a performer. I’ve noticed that Allison works her audiences differently, depending on the venue. Compare her audience interaction at Long Beach to the Asian tour. Even Wilkes Barre to Starland. It shows a lot of maturity.

I agree that there’s a lot of pressure on an opening night, and Starland seemed to be a much more relaxed, informal setting. So, Allison was really able to let loose and have fun.

BTW, the thing about Alli is you never are quite sure what she’s going to do on the stage (I made a Lucille Ball reference after the Long Beach videos). She might trip over a mic stand, or in the case of this FIBOU it looked like she was in danger of falling off the tiny stage. At one point she did a little backwards skip and it looked like she momentarily lost her balance, and could have landed on her butt. Just another thing that endears her to me.

So far, she’s not doing any dates past July 20th but that could change.

    Thanks for the inf. PRMari.
Just wondering, because if she is coming, I could like to start looking for seats in advance.
