This is so exciting. I wish all the success in the world to Allison, she deserves it. She’s worked hard and talent should be rewarded.

Really hope this album gets the recognition and sales it deserves… it’s a fantastic debut… really really solid album… I love it!

Just listening through the iTunes (i.e. higher quality) version now. I knew right from when I heard the clips that Don’t Waste The Pretty was going to be a favorite, but holy crap it sounds good!

Same for Pieces — it rocks — those verses are gorgeous — low register FTMFW!! And the solo vocal at the end of the bridge — WOW!!

And the subtlety on Scars is even more evident now.

And when our CD arrives tomorrow, it’s gonna sound even better! Not sure I can take it…

I’m sure that will change by tomorrow, but it sure was interesting to see.

Fantastic album by the young Allison. Her talent is amazing! The pictures on the digital booklet are gorgeous as well. She seems like a star already. You’d hardly know this was an album from an AI contestant.

My iTunes album is also downloading, I think, otherwise I would be so pissed. My physical copy should be in the mail today, along with a signed poster of the ROCK GODDESS !!!

On my second listen of the iTunes download, using headphones to get the full Allison experience. I am so, so happy! When I got the iTunes notification I felt like doing a jig around the living room. I didn’t because I put in a 12 hour day today and am wiped out, but I swear to god, this girl is going to get me back up on my feet and dancing in a minute. Woo Hoo! Go Allison Go!!

Wow, this thing sounds GREAT through my headphones, much better than the rip. Allison is that chick! I think this is becoming my favorite album this year. I wasn’t expecting that.

ETA: You know… I originally had her pegged to be the most “radio” successful just based on the fact that she was a young female aimed in a popular genre and on a great label for her. But honestly.. this girl is just mad talented. Man, she’s so YOUNG, and her voice sounds amazing on this stuff. And the way she sings, the phrasing, the interpretation.. the girl is going to be big someday. You go Allie. She sounds fantastic!

Just downloaded my pre-order. Very happy for Allison, except why why why with other great choices did they choose FIBOU for her first single! Oh well, it shouldn’t matter in the long run. I think she has time. I hope this album is a big success, but even if it’s not it should be a great stepping stone to where she wants to be. She’s incredible, I think she deserves to be invested in for the long term.

I TOTALLY agree! It seems that Jive is famous for choosing less than stellar songs as first singles. FIBOU doesn’t even seem to fit in with the rest of the album. It’s almost like she started out recording a Miley Cyrus song and then remembered who she really was on the rest of the album. So weird! I think a lot of fans feel the same about Kris’s first single too. It doesn’t really fit with the rest of his album. Though I admit I like LLWD, but not so much FIBOU. Well at least we know her second single will probably solidify things for her as a truly legit rocker chick! GO ALLIE!

I just got Alli’s record from itunes. I have to support my girl! I think she should be very proud of her self with this CD. She was my second fave last year after AL. And I agree. Soooo many songs better than FIBOU as the first single. Maybe Jive will pull an RCA and change directions.

I’m very happy with Alli’s cd, so many great songs! Don’t Waste the Pretty is my current favorite, D is for Dangerous reminds me of a James Bond theme song for some reason, lol, and I’m really liking the one she co-wrote, You Don’t Know Me. Brava, Allison!

I wish she was doing better on radio, that worries me some, I’ll admit, but if Jive will work with her, and stay the course, I think she could do really well for herself. The music industry is such a hard biz to break into, she’s going to need all the talent and luck and hard work in the world to make it. She does have my best wishes, I think she’s fantastic!

You finally figured that out, eh? Haha — just kiddin’ around.

Third listen through conclusion: there is not a single song on this album I want to skip. In fact, when each song starts I catch myself thinking, “Oooh, I like *this* one.” Repeat x 14.

It’s going to take me a while to settle on a favorite, though I admit that “El Viernes Te Olvido Yo” catches my ear faster and harder than many others, including, especially, its English counterpart. Not exactly difficult to determine why on that — famous Swedish producer guy whose name I can’t be bothered to remember, you have a lot to answer for :-/

I also get sucked into “Don’t Waste the Pretty,” “Trouble Is” and “D is for Dangerous” immediately. Oddly, even the songs that were a bit generic for me from the snippets (I didn’t listen to the stream) are pleasing me at full length.

Of course now that I type that, “Scars” comes up and her voice sounds somehow different yet possibly even more compelling than on “El Viernes Te Olvido Yo,” so maybe *it’s* my favorite.

My happy Allison dilemma, let me show you it.

I’m listening through the album again, and I can just see her rocking these songs live! She going to kill in concert. Does anyone know her promo schedule, besides GMA tomorrow am? David Cook’s songs are so much better live, than on the cd, and I just know Alli’s going to be a great live performer, too. I can hardly wait to see her perform with full band. Does she have any Jingle Ball-like gigs lined up? Hopefully we’ll get some YouTubes to watch! Go Alli!

She will on Ellen on Friday and that same night she will be performing on Memphis. She’ll also be doing a Florida Jingle Ball gig and also the Los Angeles one. I’m not 100% sure of dates though.

The bonus track in the pre-order is really good too and those pictures in the album booklet are really good. She looks like a total rockstar.

I’m so excited for Allison. Just Like You is a very,very good debut. Young ,
relevent and should be on repeat. While it is a great collection for teens, I feel she has the maturity of sound and song collection to straddle any generational gaps.
My personal Favorites “Don’t Waste the Pretty”, “Holliday”, “Scars,”
“Pieces”, and “You Don’t Know Me.” These should be the HITS.!! IMO.

I can’t wait to download my itunes pre-order when I get on my pc upstairs. Also to see her on GMA this morning!

Then to cross fingers and hope she sells beacoup cds … yes!

So funny how things differ — right from the start of listening to the snippets, those were the three that stood out to me as ones that would be favorites of mine (and they still are).

sylvanaire, here’s some additional stuff about her upcoming appearances besides what PRMari said. The Memphis one this Friday is a jingle ball; the Orlando one is on the 18th, and I believe the LA one is this Saturday (she’s just playing a pre-show in the afternoon in LA). She also recorded an AOL Session, last week I believe, but we don’t know yet when it’ll be posted. You mentioned the live performance connection with David Cook — I’ve been wishing for a Cook/Iraheta tour since last spring! Make it happen, DC!

I pulled up the quote because of Scars. The feeling and emotion she puts in that track – so much of her into it – better than most 30 year olds I know for sure. It must’ve been an experience for those lucky ones present in the studio while Alli cut the track.

I noticed that the GMA website has some “web only” performances. Maybe some that they were not able to fit into the broadcast.

BTW, there is a performance at the GMA website by a Disney (literally) group called KSM. Never heard of them before. Its a teen all-girl rock band. So I checked it out, given that it might be competition for Alli. First of all, their pretend-rock is exactly what Allison should never do. Second, they were lip synching!
So, absolutely nothing to worry about .

I just got her album. Love her voice. What a fun album. And her album is #10 in iTunes. Yay!

Unfortunately, I think maybe she couldn’t hear herself very well this morning, because there were about half a dozen majorly flat notes in there — probably as many bum notes as in her weakest AI performance (Don’t Want To Miss A Thing). I just hope they weren’t so severe that a lot of people noticed — I seem to be way more sensitive to pitch than most people.

The band was great…

I loved Priscilla’s bass playing, going way up high and sliding back down.

And I love Valerie’s drumming. And did you catch her fun faces? Valerie F-ing Franco indeed!

And how about her knocking the mic stand over! I’m glad she went over to pick it up after they finished, so that people noticed. Rock and rollllllll……..

JohnM I completely agree with you. She pitched out on several occasions most especially when singing along with the band. I happened to catch Adam on Slezaks realite, and he said that sometimes the vocal track gets sent out to tv and not a monitor(like the old days) or the stage PA to bounce off the studio which helps the vocalist feel himself in the mix. Its all ear piece today.

Oh no, I wouldn’t say she blew it at all. There were pitch problems, which may or may not have been her fault (though she’s so accurate that it’s extremely doubtful that it was her fault), and it remains to be seen how many people will even notice those problems. But that’s the only potential negative at all — aside from that, it was a grand slam home run in my book.

I only got the FIBOU sub-par performance and a 10 second snippet of DWTP here. JohnM, I doubt it’s her fault as well, but the performance pitch-wise was a wreck. For me, there is only pitch. Oh, No!!!!!

The non deluxe might beat out the deluxe version. Its a sign non hardcore fans are buying, or, the viewers who saw her on the show but have lost touch since May, and have seen Alli again today. I dont think there are any significant amount of non idol fans, because her music hasn’t been heard on the radio much if at all.

All I saw were dollar signs jumping off the TV screen.

Sizzling energy, snappy banter, Disney level cute sparkly girl band (Female drummer!!!), healthy-not-crazy-skinny high energy smiling spunky great singer with teen envy cascade of soft red hair, yet she’s still got that rocker growl. It was a giantly successful kick-off. Too bad kids were in school and didn’t see it. Hope the internet replay happens.

Caught this performance — and glad I did — by chance. (Just turned on TV for Ellen, and was going to put DVR on pause).

Pitch? Who cares. Didn’t notice because was so happy to hear her firey real delivery instead of auto-tuned recording.

Feel good, Allison fans, your girl delivered.

Well, I cannot edit…I got a 10 sec snip of Holiday, not DWTP. Pitch? Who cares? Only those who appreciate and understand music.

That was fantastic! And yeah, I was having way too much fun grinning from ear to ear, singing along and dancing in my chair (thank god for having a private office) to notice anything but a remarkable voice and energy that lights up the sky. Woo!

ETA: Wait, what? People are seriously thinking that was a bad performance? Ahahaha! I’ve seen many, many live performances in my day and this was nowhere near bad. In fact, it was damn good, considering the circumstances.

Who cares about a couple barely noticeable off pitch notes? Only those who don’t understand anything about live performance or what rock (okay, in this case pop, but she *will* rock, given the chance) music is all about.

Oops, no, no! Forgive my bad writing up there — it was late and I was not particularly coherent. I *love* those three songs and did from the snippets forward. The ones I thought were generic were… well, I honestly can’t remember right now because they don’t sound generic to me anymore. So it’s all good. : )

Well, my local walmart fails. They don’t have Allison’s album because they are apparently “behind in receiving music shipments by a week or two”. They didn’t even have Allison’s album in their system. I didn’t see Adam’s album there either, but I didn’t look too much, as I’m not a fan.

Target, which is on the same street, had it. So I bought my copy there. But I can’t help but be a bit miffed that they don’t even have Allison in their system at Walmart yet. I hope my local walmart is the only one with that problem and that this won’t affect her sales.
