Love that she has 2 ladies in her band! Can’t wait to see them live.
Does anyone know what “happened’ to her single.

  • FifthHouseSun

Five rockers on stage. Three with double X chromosomes. Excellent numbers! (It’s practically Title 9 for Rock ‘n Roll.) Savvy move. Congrats, Allison.

  • Susan M.

How exciting for Allison, that’s going to be HOT!! And three girl rockers? Even better!

  • Mtlfan

Fun! Look promising!! I’ll keep an eye on them!! :)

  • Tess

The band “looks” like a good fit for Ali. Young, goofy, exuberant (from their pic) and she’ll be traveling with some “girls” and I think that is a super plus for someone her age.

  • Sassycatz

How old are those ladies? Guessing not teens. And what about that second guy? Was he just someone who popped into the picture? Roadie? Manager?

I can see why Cook might be interested in checking out their act. ;-)

  • listen

    Way to go Allison!

I think it is cool that she included female band members. Really like the idea of a lady drummer keeping the beat !
And more importantly, they both look cute. ;-)

  • steve

Love that kid and Teresa LWhites is going to make her a superstar.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/Lamberthita lamberthita

our girl is ready to rock!!!

  • CathyMK

Very cool that her bassist and drummer are women! I hope they’re trying to make her band somewhat permanent, rather than just a touring band. That’s a big plus for someone trying to establish herself as a rocker.

  • Pam

    Chicks representin’! Cool.

    THIS! Awesome! :)

  • beckysspam

They all look like rockers! That’s awesome. I think they’re in for some good times, lol. This makes me really excited to go see them perform someday!

  • Niall

I love seeing all the women in her band. Very cool. So far Allison has gotten the best album cover out of the Kris/Adam/Allison bunch, and the best first song (in my opinion). I hope everything else works out as well for her long term.

  • maturin

She is so cool and goofy and adorable.

  • Renee in CA

Glad to see she’s got a young, girly vibe to the band, and I agree, I like her cover the best of the Kradam, although Adam’s single cover is simply gorgeous (crying that it’s not the cover of the album).

  • BeckyMD

Really cool. I like the vibe from the band. I’m so happy and excited for Allison!!

  • lovemymatthew

    yuck

  • PRMari

I’m so glad her band includes some rocking women and now, I don’t think they’re teens but they’re not oldies either. I’m guessing they’re 20-somethings. I have a feeling that this will be her permanent band, not just touring band.

Very excited for this. As for those asking about the single, it’ll be on sales on iTunes starting November 3rd, this Tuesday.

  • May

Allison is a little out there but there is something natural about her that I like. I hope she has good music on her album. I also wonder what happened with her single…

  • auntieaimee

I love this girl! She cracks me up.

  • PRMari

Her single will be out on November 3rd on iTunes, this Tuesday.

I’m thinking her album has much more rock than her first single implies, given the new band members.

  • jordison

Isn’t the bass player’s name Priscilla Yolanda, from the band “Fire at Play?”

  • PRMari

    Yup, that’s her.

  • jms

Update: I almost forgot! Allison recently tweeted that she recorded a version of ‘Friday I’ll Be Over U’ in Spanish’ ¦

Woohoo! This is great news. Gives Allison another market.

    Yep that’s her

  • suebrody

Hope her other tracks rock harder than her first single. JMHO. Love that there are two other girls in the band. That’s so rare; perfect for Allison, particularly being younger. And that is awesome about her recording in Spanish. Worked for Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez.

  • Old Rocker Dude

I’m so happy for Allison. This band looks to be pretty rockin’. I think the album is gonna have a way bigger rock vibe than FIBOU although I’m liking it a whole lot too.

  • spencer

she could tone down the “tough guy” act a bit. I don’t know but they all look kinda young — I know Allison is young still but I thought (i guess from her AI days) she might have a slightly more mature looking band–kinda reminds me of KMS a little. she cute tho.

  • PRMari

What’s wrong with the band looking young? She is young after all and the age of her band members doesn’t necessarily mean the music will be too young and poppy. What’s KMS?

About the “tough guy” act, I think it’s just her being goofy, though she does seem like a pretty tough chick regardless of her act.

  • lucy

Great that they’re putting together a young, mixed-gender group for Allison. Good image for her to move forward with — Hope they go far!

uh, she is 17. So her looking young is no shocking revelation.

Valerie Franco, the drummer is 23. Priscilla Yolanda, the bass player is about 25. Not sure about David Immerman, the lead guitar.
From their web sites it doesn’t seem like they are gonna be bubblegum / popish sounding. Looking forward to some good rock vibe.

  • lydia

Really cool. There aren’t enough woman rockers around. I’m looking forward to seeing where her music goes.

  • GaryJ

Allison just might be the next Spanish-language star. She’s already known in Mexico and Central America. She really wowed the judges on Telemundo when she won the contest in Mexico City…

They certainly don’t look like teens. This is good. They’ll steady her, and hopefully, give her more of a rock edge than her first single suggests. Maybe they can rock it out like Cook and his band does to some of his stuff.

  • Truthiness

Well glad to see she has a band, cool. And I’m hoping they do well with her and yeah I admit, glad to see some women as part of the band.

But I put off watching this bubbletweet because it was as I feared when I just watched now, so annoying! I like Allison the singer, I like Allison a lot as a goofy teen and that’s fine well and good. But great moogily googily this was as annoying as one of her Tweets, and that’s saying something.

Oh well, still hope she finds success.

    Really? That was annoying? sure….

her new tweet: Allison4Realzzz It’s time like these I wish I was a little boy.. Haha ( my 3 year old nephiew Max) http://twitpic.com/npv7n

  • Truthiness

Really? That was annoying? Okay’ ¦whatever you say.

Yeah, that annoyed me and I don’t find her typically find her annoying in person. Sometimes she would seem bored/tired during the tour during press days, not annoying. But this with the “Snap! WHADDUUP! ….son!’ yeah, it was like one of her Tweets come to life and they annoy the bejeebus out of me. It’s not the end of the world nor does it stop me liking her. I just have learned to avoid her Tweets and will avoid her Bubbletweets as well, it seems. Eh, no biggie.

  • jmom376

I am very excited to see that Allison has some girls in her band! I agree that there are not enought out there. I can’t wait to see what songs she has on her album.

As far as Allison’s behavior: She is a typical 17 yo girl. I have a 16 yo boy and him and his friends all act goofy at one time or another. Try being at a football game surrounded by about 500 of them.. LOL.. You will quickly come to the conclusion that Allison’s behavior is completely normal for a real teenager.

Which is why I don’t like other teenagers as well and hanging around with them on purpose? Well I guess there is enough money in the world for that, but other than that? yeah no. So Allison’s being typically obnoxious doesn’t make me find her less obnoxious in her Tweets or this. And again, typically she isn’t always like this with her interviews or interactions on film. Like the Kradison interviews, those are fine and fun. So it’s not a question of Allison always being obnoxious, well outside of Twitter, or of her being just an obnoxious teen all the time.

At least that was the case for me. Again, again, not a big deal for me that Allison, like all of my other faves, has some flaws. Overall she’s still talented and a good kid, so no worries from me.

  • Cheetara86

I’m just glad that she has some females, so when she is on the tour bus, she can have girl talk and all that.

  • PRMari

I have 16 and 15 year old nieces, not to mention that I’m a collge professor that teaches Freshmen Biology, so my students are pretty much exactly like Allion. So her behavior doesn’t bother me in the least, I’m used to it but I can definitely see how it would bother some people. It’s all good, she’s not always like that and the girl can sing, which is really one of the most important things here.

  • Rub

Allison’s band is looking very cool. I was afraid they were gonna have her with older bandmates, but this is right. In her appearance on Conan and the tour as well, she looked like fish out of water against those older musicians. There was talk of Stewart being part of her band, and as good as they got along, on stage, the guy had no stage presence with no swagger – with an awkward dance to his stance – and appearing older than his age. Guitarists are a dime a dozen, anyone can play anything on the radio. Stage presence matters a great deal, and as superficial as it sounds, it has a tremendous visual impact and radiates attraction or repulsion. This group they put together seems to be the right balance. We know Allison owns the stage, and now even more fierce with her new look she’s rocking. Lets hope the band can keep up.

Still have teens in my household and I find Allison absolutely adorable! Love, love, love her voice and I must admit, I’m a fan of the “goofies”. Most teenagers carry themselves like their in their 20′s … she’s still a teen at heart. I prefer the less polished, pc, always primped and primed … cheers to all the “goofies”! Go Alli!

  • fearbear

I’m excited for her album. Just out of curiosity though, what exactly is happening to her single? It’s been weeks since it was leaked and it still hasn’t gone to radio or for sale? I really hope Allison can find some success so I hope Jive gives her good promo and pushes her single on the radio.

  • hermy

I want to hear what the rest of her stuff sounds like. Hopefully its a little more geared toward her personality. btw, I’m 17 and the goofiness is pretty normal. It’s just that with her it’s always on lol. If she wants to be known for her goofy attitude good for her :)

  • PRMari

Her single went for radio this past week and is going to iTunes on Tuesday.

  • Cheetara86

Plus, she tweeted that she’ll be doing promotion in 2 weeks. She’ll be heading to DC in a couple of weeks

  • TwigLA

Good to see she has female musicians in the band and that they are young. I hope the band is good and they mesh well.

I’m glad to hear that she’s been recording some in Spanish. Big market that needs to be tapped.

  • JohnM

Very very excited that she has a mixed-gender band. And as a bass player, I’m very happy that the girls make up the rhythm section. I think an all-male band wouldn’t have been a good idea, and an all-female band would have appeared too gimmicky even if it wasn’t.

Also, it’s so exciting that the girls list their styles as punk / rock / soul / BLUES! And listening to “Valerie F-ing Franco”s songs on her Myspace, she plays a lot like Paramore’s Zac Farro, which is great news, because he has a fantastic sense for rhythmic flourishes.

I think they’re gonna rock up everything they do live. All this is extremely encouraging news.

Rub: There was talk of Stewart being part of her band, and as good as they got along, on stage, the guy had no stage presence with no swagger ‘“ with an awkward dance to his stance ‘“ and appearing older than his age.

While I have no quarrel with this comment, I wonder if this was because he was doing his AI-hired-gun thing. In other words, the people who play the AI tour, or a “spectacle tour” like Britney’s (on which he’s playing during November) are paid to play while staying totally in the background. Just look at the lighting on the AI tour — a lot of the time you can barely see that the band members are there. We know from David Cook’s comments last year that the performers can have their pay docked if they color outside the lines.

So, maybe this is just how he works — i.e. has to work — when on these tours, not necessarily on other kinds of tours. Or maybe he really is a dead fish. ;-)

  • TXMOM

Replying to Rub’s comments about Tim Stewart’s lack of swagger or stage presence…. I don’t guess you’ve seen any of his performances with 4th Avenue Jones, Infectious Grooves, Backstreet Boys, etc… That guy can be an animal on stage. You have to keep in mind these tour band musicians are there to help the Idols look and sound as good as possible – not to upstage them. Also, GREAT guitarists who can play any style of music are not a dime a dozen…

  • Rub

JohnM: I think an all-male band wouldn’t have been a good idea, and an all-female band would have appeared too gimmicky even if it wasn’t.

Right on the head there John. I would love to see a rhythm guitarist though, it would fill the rhythm section vibrantly. It leads me to wonder if Allison may have a role in playing rhythm. I would leave her handling the stage.

So, maybe this is just how he works ‘” i.e. has to work ‘” when on these tours, not necessarily on other kinds of tours. Or maybe he really is a dead fish.

You maybe right. He wants to cash his full check. Now that you mention Cook, Tim has been doing this so long he may have forgotten how to be cool. lol

And as a bass player, I’m very happy that the girls make up the rhythm section.

I didn’t know you play bass? I tip my hat to the time keeper. I think you have to be born to play rhythm. Its hereditary or something – it aint easy. This ladies can play hard, even Alli was impressed judging by her onslaught of tweets the other day. Encouraging news indeed.

  • Cheetara86

So, maybe this is just how he works ‘” i.e. has to work ‘” when on these tours, not necessarily on other kinds of tours. Or maybe he really is a dead fish.

Well he came alive when performing with Allison. Guess certain artists can bring out the wild side.

I know he is going to Australia to do the Britney tour in November.

  • Rub

TXMOM:Also, GREAT guitarists who can play any style of music are not a dime a dozen’ ¦

Whats on the radio aint much of a style difficult enough that requires a great guitarist. Although some of the Backstreet Boys stuff could be a mission to render on stage. Obviously he must be doing something right as a session player to be well sought after. Good for him

  • PRMari

I think he meant that the Idol tour musicians aren’t your average musician since they have to be able to play lots of different styles, and Tim Stewart is actually an incredible guitar player. I never thought he would get to be in her band just because he doesn’t fit the age requirement, but he’s an excellent musician and he’s a lot more lively when he’s not required to stay in the shadows, literally.

That said, this band looks like it’ll be a lot of fun for Allison to hang out with. Maybe she will get to play rythm guitar in a few songs, but I doubt they’ll tie her down through the entire live show, plus she’s not at that point yet in the guitar.

  • Rub

PRMari, my point is the styles that are out there(pop music) its probably what, the G scale? Based solely upon pop music, with hardly any changes – string pics and basic chords, merit the word “great” in the same context – especially playing covers? Im not saying he is not good. He could be great. It’s my third person point of view. I’ve been wrong before. =P

  • erinnthered

and she’s recorded FIBOU in Spanish

Really?! That’s awesome! Still not a fan of the song, but glad to hear she’s expanding the demo.

It also explains why she was signed. I was happy, believe me, but I think it was her appeal to the Spanish pop/ rock market, which is huge!

Very cute. I’m glad she has a young band she can grow with. It’s always look odd to me when you have a bunch of older, hardened session musicians performing with young pop acts. Too contrived.

    Go Allison!

  • MollyAnnMay

Woo! This is exciting. I was encouraged when I heard Allison was putting together a band, but there was still some niggling worry about what she could put together — or be allowed to put together. This sounds like a promising mix.

    JohnM:

Very very excited that she has a mixed-gender band. And as a bass player, I’m very happy that the girls make up the rhythm section.

Me too! Some audiences (though of course not all) are so focused on the singer(s) and lead guitar in a rock band they don’t see or hear the rhythm section or realize how critical they are to the audience having a good time. It’s so cool that two young women are going to be the heartbeat of Allison’s band.

I think an all-male band wouldn’t have been a good idea, and an all-female band would have appeared too gimmicky even if it wasn’t.

Absolutely true. It was a good call and I hope it pays off.

  • Sassycatz

Very very excited that she has a mixed-gender band. And as a bass player, I’m very happy that the girls make up the rhythm section.

They’ll appeal to the young ladies because it’s all about girl power and they’ll draw in the males because they’re cute and rockin’.

  • oceana

loving the band. Women rule. :)

  • JohnM

Rub: I didn’t know you play bass? I tip my hat to the time keeper.

    I didn’t say I was a good bass player. ;-)

I think you have to be born to play rhythm. Its hereditary or something ‘“ it aint easy.

Yeah, rhythm playing doesn’t get enough credit. Derek Trucks is a good example — he’s something of a guitar god, widely respected for his slide playing, but I actually think he’s as good a rhythm player as lead — I just love his rhythm work.

ETA: Just gotta add — I watched the bubble tweet a few times last night, but I just went back and watched it a few more, and really took in all of Allison’s faces while she was singing and the way she signaled everyone to cut — and I couldn’t stop grinning/laughing. Just hilarious. I guess either you get her hammy thing or you don’t — I’m glad I do!

  • Junior

Truthiness - i’m glad i’m not the only one! I wish her all the success in the world but I just can not relate at all. To her personality or her music. Not saying it makes it wrong, just that it doesn’t work for me.

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

Pretty happy for Allison. Glad she has some grrrls in the band. Keep realzzz, Lava Girl.

  • PRMari

The fourth member of the band is Troy Laureta, keyboard player.

  • LoveDaRocker

Very smart to have girls in the band. Now, lets rock!!!!

  • ppwars

Great, fun tweet. NOW, for a demo!

  • tinawina

Cool for Allison! I’m liking the band. Hope they give them a name pronto.

I’ve been MIA for a few days with Halloween festivities and homework. Anyway, after hearing all 3 singles, my money is still on Allison. Go Lava Girl!

  • Nico

Wow! Wasn’t expecting a band like that – it’s so GREAT! 2 chicks and 2 dudes, they look like 20-something, very eye-catching. I checked their stuff – all of them are great. Previously Priscilla and David were in rock bands – a band like that is put together for greater things that pop music, just saying. Looks like they won’t be need for backup singers, because all of them except for the drummer, sing. Hope they are permament and wish not only Allison but her whole band an awesome time together on and off stage… and great music for me! Rock on
