What a difference a year makes! Go Alli Go!

  • Squirrely

She’ll catch on, she just needs time. Maybe she can get a Nickelodeon show were she sing and be quirky.

great interview!!!! She’s really promoting herself and the album well in this interview, good stuff!

  • alli lurker

Yay! An Allison thread!! Its been like forever since we’ve had one…

Great interview – she’s getting really good at this. I hope they stop asking about Adam soon.

  • PattyH

Wow, her interview skills have really improved! Good for her!
I got her CD as a Christmas present and love all but 3 songs. “Scars” is unbelievable! And, “No One Else,” a young P!NK for sure!

  • chessguy99

She is getting better at the video interviews. Always nice to see multiple Idols still getting coverage this far out of the season.

  • PRMari

Her interviewing skills are definitely improveing, not that I ever had a problem with them to begin with but still good to see her so comfortable.

  • oceana

Her last few interviews have been very good, she’s pretty spastic in her tweets but not in her interviews anymore, if ever. She’s really selling the cd here, fingers crossed for new promotion after the new year. You go girl.

  • BeckyMD

    It’s a really good interview.

  • nina.t

I’ve always liked her interviews. She’s always positive and fun, she’s always smiling. She’s great.

    Allison all the way !!

  • GaryJ

    Yay Alli!

  • cookcricket

Go Allison!! Get on the ball Jive!!!! You have two new great artists on your label, sell them!!!

Allison has always been fine in her interviews, imo.

I do wish FIBOU would have gone somewhere, it’s a catchy tune!

    Adam who???
seriously, if people don’t stop asking her about Adam… I’m watching an Allison interview for Allison not Adam…
anyways I can’t wait to see what 2010 brings for Allison!

Alli, most certainly, has improved on her interviews. I noticed the change on her last interview, before this one, and she is keeping up…so much better, that I wonder if she has gotten some coaching? She frequently trailled off,not finishing her sentences and did use the words uh and whatever to end her sentences when she got there. Really BIG KUDO’ S Allison….You are showing that you have presence, and your wits about you, and you are much more articulate.Keep up the good work!!!!!
Allisons Album…….I love it and I think she has 4 or 5 possible HITS if her handlers could work a little harder on promotional dates and radio connections. This talented Kid is just waiting to happen!!
Hey, and I really appreciate that she talks about Adam.First and foremost they are friends, and it would appear self centered if she said “no comment”
about any of her fellow contestants!! As well, Adam was asked about her on the jingle bell(boll?) and replied…. So, all three, Kris, Adam, and Allison, were fairly close! They all reflect beautifully on each other!!!!!!!

I appreciate that she’s gracious about Adam, I think it’s sweet. I just wish reporters would stop asking her about him already. The interview is about her, not what she thinks of him. Ask her questions about her please. It’s a little disrespectful to the artist if all you want to know is what they think of someone else.

I do wish FIBOU would have gone somewhere, it’s a catchy tune!

It still can go somewhere, it’s only been out for a few months and she’s a virtually unknown artist. Three tv presentations isn’t exactly a lot of promotion for someone people just don’t really know or remember since she didn’t win the show.

  • alli lurker

I wonder what she’s going to sing tonight… I’m expecting Friday and Holiday, but I’m secretly hoping she’ll surprise us and do something we haven’t heard live before.

This talented Kid is just waiting to happen!!

I agree with you justjude. Let’s get a new single out there – c’mon let’s go!!

I think it’s a bit rude too, but of course it’s great that she answers and speaks positively about her friend, but I wish reporters would realize that she’s interesting in her own right.

Hey alli lurker, I’m thinking dwtp will make it’s national debut.
Somebody posted a kiis jingle TI performance on the tube, very short clip. I thought she could do TI though very unlikely.

About the Adam questions, I already concluded and realized that it’s something they(as well as us) are gonna have to live with for a long time. Clearly Allison and Adam don’t seem to mind as they care for each other like brothers do. Adam has been a gentleman and a mentor to our little Alli, and if that wasn’t enough, he has also cried and protected and endorsed Allison. I’m sure Alli feels for what Adam has been going through and Alli has defended him in every interview I’ve seen.

  • alli lurker

Hey Rub, I don’t want to get my hopes up, cuz I’ve been disappointed before, but dwtp would be good – she does a great job with that one live. I also think D or YDKM would be great for a party.

ETA: The song I have stuck in my head today is Prince’s ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, so I’ve been trying to think which Allison song is like that. I think the closest is Beat Me Up. That would be fun, I love that song.

Less than a few months, in terms of radio — it’s been two months since its add date. So yeah, without knowing the inside scoop about stations’ plans, the jury is still out on whether it’s dead or could still take off. Until it started losing some spins during the holiday period, it was fairly steadily increasing in spins — at a snail’s pace, to be sure, but still increasing.

justjude: Alli, most certainly, has improved on her interviews. I noticed the change on her last interview, before this one, and she is keeping up’ ¦so much better, that I wonder if she has gotten some coaching?

Could be. But also, she’s gotten a whole lot of interview experience just in the last month since the album’s release, such as the string of interview after interview by satellite with lots of local Fox morning shows, the morning before the album’s release if I remember correctly. And when you get basically the same questions over and over and over, you start to get your standard answers committed to memory.

About the Adam questions, I, too, wish they’d stop asking her about him. But keep in mind that this interview was done three weeks ago, which was a lot closer to the AMA performance. I suspect that the Adam questions will taper off, though they probably won’t go away altogether.

Anyway, nice job on the interview.

I really love Allison Iraheta’s voice, and I like FIBOU a lot, but – wow – that video in the background looks way too young, pre-teen-ish even, to me. (I cringed a little when the neon coloring part happens.) I’m gonna go watch the whole video now, somehow I missed it.

Her voice, despite her chronological age, has strength and conviction. I think the”visuals” could/should match that.

  • PRMari

The video is actually very 80′s, not all teeny. Regardless, she is a teen so it’s ok for her to also appeal to teens. The visuals do match the conviction on her voice. I hope when you watch the entire video you’ll get that sense.
