About a month ago, on November 8 to be exact, Alex Preston headlined a show at the beautiful Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord NH. His opening acts were fellow American Idol 13 alum, Sam Woolf, and the singer’s girlfriend, Jillian Jensen.
Surprise! I was there, took video, but am only getting around to posting the set now.
Alex played TWO SOLD OUT SHOWS at the venue. At the 7 pm show I attended the season 13 2nd runner-up was literally treated like a rock star by the enthusiastic hometown crowd (Alex grew up in a nearby Mt. Vernon, NH).
Similar to his set at the University of New Hampshire for his homecoming last May, the set was a mixture of new songs and covers. Alex and his friends played extended jams, that included some great sax work from the singer’s ex-university professor.
Jillian performed a three song set to open the show, and joined Alex to perform a cover of “Say Something.”
