Sad news. Alan Magnus, father of American Idol Season 9 alum, Siobhan Magnus, has died.
You may remember that Siobhan surprised her dad with a buzzworthy performance of House of the Rising Sun during Top 8 Girls week. “I grew up listening to him sing and play this song on the piano,” the singer explained to Ryan Seacrest before her performance, “It means a lot to me, because I relate it to him. He was the first person to ever teach me anything about singing.
Siobhan tweeted the sad news this morning:
I’ll see you at the crossroads, Dad. Good Journey. Rest in Peace Alan Nicholas Magnus, 1961-2013. I only wish I could see the pahty the angels are having now that Alan has joined the band!!!
