Adam Levine Hosts Saturday Night Live (VIDEO)

The Voice coach, Adam Levine hosted Saturday Night Live last night. Did you watch? Here’s a sampling of Adam’s solid hosting debut below.  As is typical with SNL, some skits were better than others.

Adam’s opening monologue featured an all star cast of Andy Samberg, Cameron Diaz and Jerry Seinfeld in red chairs, trying to convince Adam to pick them as his hosting coach. Somehow Adam would up shirtless at the end of the skit.  Despite the star power, I thought the opening was weak.

Unfortunately, a pretty funny skit that had SNL cast members impersonating Jason Mraz, Pat Monahan from Train , John Mayer and Darius Rucker engaged with Adam in a Battle of Hot Adult Contemporary Stars, is not posted online. Sads.

But, this parody of Catfish, where Adam is perfect as host, Nev Schulman, is a spot-on takedown of the MTV reality show. I actually like Catfish the TV Show, but I’m happy to find out I’m not the only one who finds the host a tad full of himself and laughs at how easily the “catfish” are caught through simple Google searches.

Plus, Adam shot a digital short with Lonely Island and musical guest, Kendrick Lamar. YOLO celebrates the idea that “You Only Live Once.”  Quite literally.

I’m sort of over Adam Levine…used to think he was hot. I mean…I love t”The Voice” (not his, the show), but he is rather douchey…to say the least. Not a great actor either as evidenced by last night’s SNL stint, and he was always a mediocre vocalist. And yet, I’m here talking about him.

Ugh…okay, I admit he looks really good shirtless.

Love him.  Have always loved him and TV made me love him more.  Guess his personality just clicks with mine.  And yeah, hot doesn’t come close to describing him, lol.

I can’t be mad at him for giving hosting SNL a try, but so glad he still has his day gig (s). Bruno Mars’ hosting gig by comparison makes Levine’s come off as rather stiff and stilted – he appeared too dependent on the cue cards in his skits, which made watching him them hella. The taking off of his shirt was unnecessary – Levine is a good looking guy, that move felt kinda superfluous and desperate.  I’d give Levine a solid C. Mars is going to be a hard act to follow as a host and a musical guest on this SNL season.

I thought the opening skit got better once Jerry Seinfeld turned his chair.  Cameron Diaz was meh as was Andy Samburg.   But as soon as Jerry said…”Hello…Adam”, remembering the classic line from his show..”Hello…Newman”, for me it brought the laughter.  The entire Jerry dialogue I thought was funny.
