Video’s nice. Nothing too flashy. That’s all I want from a music video. Something nice, not too extravagant, a great song playing in the background that deserves gold certification.

Granted, I kinda need some interpretation, I didn’t fully get the whole thing about the video. But still, it’s good on the eyes.

OMG!!! Friday came early – YEA!

I love the vid! He looks so gorgeous in it – the limo shots especially are so smoking hot! I’m also really digging the “addressing the camera” stuff – very cool. The vid is definitely taking on the multiple levels of the song – about fame, about fans, about personal relationships. Love the understated look in the apartment too.

Typically a vid like this would have some corny love story attached to it – so I love the different route they took with it in this approach!

None of them. They are pictures of his old life IMO and the longing, at times, to go back to it. It’s all about dealing with the chaos that is his life of celebrity vs ‘real’ Adam and finding a way to deal with it.

Can’t believe this was one of the songs I thought I disliked when the snippets first arrived. I love it. Like the video, it’s concrete enough on its own but also…adaptable, I guess. You can project your own ideas and experiences onto what we see in that video or just watch it for itself.

When we just had the first piece, I thought maybe it was the two sides of him singing to each other — celeb versus boyish human. Or that he was singing to the press. Looks like I was wrong. But I do like that we never see the face of who he’s singing to.

I remember back before FYE was released there was some DJ in New York maybe Florida(can’t remember) but was saying that WWFM would be the first single released, then all of sudden it was FYE.

I think they were going to release WWFM first, then they landed the AMA pimp spot, and thought they needed to go a more “controversial-edgy” route.

It flips back and forth in time. Put all the t-shirt scenes together, all the long sleeve shirt scenes together and the suit scenes together and it might help. The last scene is attached to the first scene…maybe?? I don’t know a thing except that last scene is so, so lovely.

Speaking of FYE, I finally got around to watching my recording of the fuse interview with the FYE video at the end. I’m not a big fan of Adam performing in suits (I did not like the AMA look, the Gridlock look or the SYTYCD look), but I would absolutely LOVE it if he performed in the FYE video outfit (catsuit?) I freaking love that look – leather, plastic, whatever: GLAM. Kind of like when he performed with Kiss, but the FYE video takes it to another level. That’s what I’m hoping for eventually.

I thought so too – they obviously wanted to make sure people didn’t rip this vid (with the watermark, etc.) and Jim Cantiello mentioned a really moving ending – it seemed to cut away too abruptly at the end, so I think something was missing.

I love the fact that this can take on so many different levels and meanings. One of the things I’ve always liked about WWFM is that depth to it – especially wrt Adam having to deal with the media, controversy, fame, fans, in the last year (and particularly in the last few months).

Exactly. There’s a time and place for both styles. FYE is ott and great for showing that, whereas WWFM isn’t and would be pretty out of sorts to be filmed that way.

You don’t have the whole actor/actress playing a fictional boyfriend/girlfriend limitation, which when the singer is “themselves” in the video story can be a little distracting.

Agree with the general consensus..less is more. With his voice, and looks…he is one of a very few that people can totally focus on 100%and enjoy everything about! The way the video was shot, the stylistic approach for Adam, makes all eyes AND ears on him with no distractions. Adam looks and sounds amazing! THe video enhances an already great song! I really see a bigtime bump in sales once more and more people see the video!!!!!

I love this video. I love being able to see the vulnerable and human side to Adam. He looks beautiful in this video. I was in awe of him on Idol, and I never had a full blown out crush on him since I knew he was gay, but after watching this…. I dont think i’ll be able to help it haha. *not in a creepy crazy fan way*

the ending is a bit strange as you would think that they would finish with him smiling at the “lover” .. but we get a quick second of what looks like a faded shot of Adam standing outside being viewed from a window that is so brief that it’s difficult to make out it’s him or what he’s doing .. so perhaps that last shot is longer on the official release and the leaked one is cut off slightly

I like it. I’m not “OMG ITS DA BEST MUSIC VIDEO EVA!!!!!ELEVENTY!!!!” but I’d give it a 8/10. I think he really needs this song to get good chart success to really break out of the “idol bubble” and this music video is something I could totally see this music video getting played on much music and mtv so I think his chances of this becoming a top 20 hit has gone up like, 60% with this vid.

Adam is one of those performers who, even more than most others, really performs on the fly – deciding to change up the melody or the rhythm, or add embellishment, based on what he’s feeling in the moment – so it’s just so hard to capture that in the “studio” recordings.

Just think of how many times we heard WWFM – some versions were pretty straightforward, then one would hit the falsetto on “It’s me”, and another version would have him riffing on the ending climax – each version just takes on a life of it’s own with him.

I’d love it if that could be captured on the cd too, but for now we just have the live performances to fill that void. And since his voice is so stunning in either the studio or live, that’s fine by me

Yeah, unfortunately the problem won’t go away, and every artist now has to deal with it I definitely appreciate all of these artists enough to fork over the money, but even fans can find it too easy to do otherwise.

I’m just thinking about the big time delay between when FYE premiered and the itunes download was available – I think that hurt sales (at least to some extent). Making it available sooner will be better for it.

It is a beautiful look. He looks like a child in that last scene, full of hope and love. I think that is probably what gave Jim chills. I can’t see there being any more to this video.

ITA- I really enjoy the FYE album because it has something for every mood. When I need to pump myself up, I listen to SFW and Strut. When I’m somewhat melancholy, I like Broken Open. And of course, when I’m feeling misunderstood, WWFM, etc.

I do hope he makes more MVs. I like both FYE and WWFM and can’t wait to see his interpretation of the other songs.

That music video is simply three minutes and forty seven seconds of gorgeousness.

Yeah, pretty sure that’s Lisa, the blond with the black hat. You know, the only woman in the video LOL.

Really nice, non-linear storyline. Flashbacks and cutting back and forth. Definitely makes you rewatch to piece together the scenes/outfits. For example, the garden outfit is different than the kitchen outfit right? And the computer desk outfit is different from them? I actually think this video cost more than FYE. They didn’t have to build the hotel in FYE. Here, they’ve obviously dressed an empty space at Sunset Studios, down to each book in his library and, um, the guitars. I would imagine a grand piano there would have been better in the space. But it’s his living room! Multiple set-ups, sheer time for the storylines. It looks high quality.

He’s probably gotten used to it by now, but even with the smiley face the tweet did read a little bit bummed to me, like he’s sad that the first view of it that his fans get has half his face obscured by a watermark for part of the vid.

But I’m with you Truthiness, if I was him I would be like, can I not ONCE get to show you guys something when it’s the finished product on the planned timeline? Jeez!

But really, in the scheme of things how many fans in raw numbers are online tonight to see it only 6-7 hours before the real premiere? Active posters, maybe a few hundred? Including lurkers, maybe a thousand or two? It’s close enough to the real premiere time to not take any real steam away from it.

Stuff ALWAYS leaks. It’s the age of media overload and access. Videos, songs, pictures, movies, and whole albums leak early. Why get upset over it? That would be an unnecessary rise in one’s blood pressure to get upset about something like this.
Plus, who’s up to watch it? Fans? LOL!
We’ll watch for it again tomorrow so we can see Adam on our big tvs.
No big deal-life’s too short for unnecessary negativity. I think Adam probably knows that!

I love the song, the video, and Adam. The poor guy has been so picked on for his spelling that he just tried to tweet something about “tommorow”. Then realized he had misspelled it and said from now on it will be 2m. He should have more on his mind right now than misspelling.

I’m gone in for the night so I can get up early and watch the real thing.

Adam is getting so many positive comments on every site showing his mv, esp. for his stunning looks. His great acting skills are also getting noticed. I know Adam has said many times that he wants to concentrate on his music, but I can see acting in his future. Producers/directors are already interested, so TV and big-screen Adam is something his fans can look forward to, and the sooner the better.

Adam looks much younger and innocent without all the make-up and I’m loving the look. I also like that the video is all Adam (though could have used a little more Tommy Lee). I’m biased because I think Adam is insanely talented but am also really hoping that this is the breakthrough video and song that gets him fans outside of AI and maybe regain the fans he lost after the AMAs.

He’s beautiful and that is an incredible video. Good job Adam!

He is just fanfreakingtastic! I loved the song by itself and loved all of the live performances, but OMG the video makes it phenomenal. I think this video was genius, it’s gut wrenching at times and it stays true to Adam, because it is open to many interpretations. Having the camera be the other person was very smart, it keeps the female “hoping they got a shot” audience open without it being a lame cop out featuring a female counter part. I’m not a big watcher of VH1 Top 20, but I see this going to number 1, he is just so gorgeous in the video and the visual coupled with the lyric is perfection. This far exceeded my expectations for the video. I just have a feeling in my gut that this video is gonna make WWFM huge. I never got that from FYE or TFM. I always knew TFM would only be a huge hit if the movie was, and although hyped, 2012 really wasn’t (side note: I saw the movie and liked it, but it really was not up there with movies like Armageddon or Independence Day or even Deep Impact). FYE, although I loved it, I didn’t get that blockbuster hit feeling, at least not from a strictly US market. Fingers crossed for Adam that my gut is right about this one!

I do, however, think that this music video is special/creative/memorable enough to very possibly be effective right now, for this particular single. It’s genuinely, somberly beautiful, and pretty creatively conceptualized and shot. So I don’t think it’s Adam’s Bad Romance or Single Ladies, but it’s really, really good and will hopefully/probably do its job.

Well, I guess it depends on what they were trying to accomplish. If the goal was a ground breaking iconic video like those you listed, well then no I don’t think that happened. But if the goal was to open a window into Adam, with a more personal look at an artist who has had a lot of extraneous shit piled on his shoulders by both media and fans, well then I think they did a pretty decent job.

JMO that the latter WAS the goal for this one. With all the crazy media hoopla, many people who knew him from either Idol or simply news stories have kind of lost sight of the fact that the guy is human, not just a cutout character to impose various political agendas and juicy gossip stories on. This video, even set at Maximum Angst, is the first chance the public (that didn’t breathlessly follow the Idol tour online) has had to get back to Adam the person since finale night happened and the world went a little crazy.

But I am completely biased toward loving it, so I have no idea whether it will actually work to bring both lost fans and new fans into the fold, at least long enough for them to get that damn catchy song in their head and NEED to buy it. It does seem promising though.

I love both looks, but I found the bolded part of your statement interesting. I’ve seen this same sentiment in quite a few places and, frankly, it’s great news for Adam’s team. The fans will love almost everything he does but it’s important to get the reactions of nonfans and the folks who are simply neutral. I think this video is a real win for Adam.

Love the visual at the end. And, yes, it is amazing how one person can have so many differents looks to him.

Excellent video for the song, and I like Adam in simple black t-shirt. It could have maybe benefited from some outside shots that included other people. I think they could have had both men and women portrayed, leaving everything open to interpretation. But I think artists starting out have limited budgets for videos. Well, that’s just a matter of personal taste, though. I, for example, like the FYE look and the FYE video way better than I like this one. If all his videos (and songs, honestly) were like this WWFM one, it’d bore the crap out of me (although I do think this is a *good* video…)

What I’m glad about is that he has *both* out there because I think that one will catch the positive attention of some folks and the other the positive attention of others. Adam’s got the goods to please people with more than one taste, and while that can be risky in the biz, to some extent, it can probably also be a big asset, if it’s played correctly. To me, the combination of the FYE and WWFM videos can tell people a lot about Adam’s abilities and where he can take an audience, as a performer. I’m happy that that proof is out there.

This is going to be a great January for Adam. You have his Whataya want from me music video, Critic’s Choice Awards(red carpet and presenting), Oprah’s show and the debut of his album in Brazil. I am expecting to hear some more news next week, there might be some surprises.

But I think artists starting out have limited budgets for videos.

I don’t think that “budgets” had anything whatsoever to do with this video…its a poignant song, and a sparse, poignant video made the most sense….in fact, it looks like they didn’t even use most of the footage they shot of a club scene with lots of paps. Caught this on VH! this morning. It was getting some very heavy promo which I guess they do for certain select video. I wonder how VH1 picks the videos it choose to highlight this way or if the label kicks in, etc. Not saying that’s the reason because Adam is still fairly high profile.

I like the song. I think it’s strong and Adam isn’t as hammy as he was in the other two videos. Still, he does come across as a little “old” to be establishing a career on Top 40. He’s a talented guy with a solid fanbase but I just not sure if this next big thing in Pop thing has worked out the way they expected. Maybe rock would have been a better direction so maybe that d-bag Gene Simmons was right after all.

I also caught Nick Jonas’ new band and really liked them. And LLWD has one of the best videos ever out of the Idol factory.

He’s relieved that the camera/ his lover/ his fans/ the attention of the world took the song’s meaning to heart. Despite all the drama, we haven’t given up on him. I like the LLWD video and think it really helped sell the song. Hopefully, this video does the same for WWFM. I’d say its 80/20.

Too old? I think Adam’s waiting to audition for Idol was the smartest thing he could do. Now, he knows who he is and he’s got the guts to just be himself. I don’t think we can understand the pressure he’s experiencing, and he’s given himself time to mature so that he can handle it.

I think seeing SuBo struggling with the pressure (i.e., her meltdown at Heathrow Airport this week) gives us just a glimpse into how hard it is to suddenly be in the limelight with everyone having an opinion on every word you say and every move you make.

Well I don’t think that they were saying that he was playing it too safe in the video, per se. But that later they hope he has an occasion to get his Ziggy Stardust on. Which is fine to do so and I’m sure Adam will, again, when the occasion presents itself. If one is promoting a song though that is more angsty and introspective, than those are the images you should convey when singing and in the video form of the song.

I would worry more about Adam if he couldn’t stop being “glittery,” and OTT even in situations where it wasn’t called for.

Oh and LLWD as a video has some cheesey moments to me. The drifting plastic stuff was so outre, I had a Literal Video Total Eclipse of the Heart flashback. I was expecting doves next.

Well those people are morons, because the song isn’t OTT and glittery, so doing that for this song would be jarring and a total misfire.

Truthiness, so true. This vid is PERFECT for the kind of mood WWFM sets – just like FYE (imo) really captured the mood of that song. And just like Adam’s LIVE performances capture each song’s mood so perfectly. People are stupid to think that WWFM should have been done in a different style.

Serioulsy, this title could not be more perfect for Adam – “Whataya Want From Me, damn it!” Lol.

Re Kris’s vid – I think it’s well done, looks good (Kris looks hot, lol) – and though it’s light on any story (my big complaint about it), it holds together nicely despite that. IMO it doesn’t quite match the song as well as, say, WWFM does. But then, I’m glad LLWD didn’t go the completely predictable, cheesy route of showing montages of people “seizing the day” – or something.

All three vids (FYE, LLWD, WWFM) are really strong imo. Oh, I like FIBOU too, but found it kinda too Ah-Ha for me (but it’s fun).

I think SuBo has far more problems than dealing with simple stress. Why doesn’t she have a person traveling with her? She needs an old “friend” or family member that she trusts traveling with her at all times. If she doesn’t have either in her life, she needs a caring professional who spends time with her and gains her trust. It is quite sad and I only wish the best for her.

I think people forget Adam from Idol. He always performend / dressed / acted the way the lyrics of the song went. ROF was risque, but then he did TOMT so stylish and so fit the lyrics of that song. I am beginning to think this song is perfect for him right now. I don’t understand why he can’t be both, safe and OTT, at different times depending on the song. Performance, to me , is all about interrupting the lyrics of a song.

Well, that’s just a matter of personal taste, though. I, for example, like the FYE look and the FYE video way better than I like this one. If all his videos (and songs, honestly) were like this WWFM one, it’d bore the crap out of me (although I do think this is a *good* video…)

I’d be hard pressed to say which vid I liked better, this or FYE – I love them both precisely because they show two very different sides of him that match the songs so well. FYE is that fun, sexy underground party. WWFM is that quiet, rainy day, inner turmoil of dealing with the weight of the world, introverted side. I really love both. But I agree, if he ONLY did one or the other, I’d get bored too (and so would he, lol, which is why he doesn’t)

This is always great to hear! I think WWFM does a good job of selling the song, which, in the end, is all you’re trying to do with the mv. If you can get people to like the song more after seeing the mv – that’s a winning situation!

He’s amazingly versatile as a performer, singer, and interpreter of songs, and sometimes I think that becomes (for some reason) as much a negative as a positive in his case. Thank god he has so many musical influences that he throws into the mix! That just makes everything he does that much more unpredictable and fascinating to watch!

After all, this is the guy who, in 4 weeks time, went from RoF, to ToMT, to PTFM, to MW. I can’t imagine many AI contestants went to such extremes and captured so many different moods in such a short amount of time.

Seriously, it’s about the attitude and the looks (yeah, I know superficial, but it sadly is what it is), maybe more so than the actual age (as if 27 was that old too, lol!) Lady Gaga, for instance, is younger than him, but can come across looking older imo, depending on how she’s made up. It’s all relative.

After seeing the Fuse vids yesterday with him talking about the astrology signs, I got really curious about the Moon sign stuff, and looked up what some of the characteristics were for each one. When I read mine, it felt pretty spot on, and looking at Adam’s (Aries), it really seemed to encapsulate a lot of what we know about him. Here’s something I found. Very much suggested how the FYE and WWFM moods could both be so natural to him:

Aries: Impatient, ambitious, vigorous, stubborn and full of energy. They take their decisions “on a gut level”. They are happy, optimistic, and positive and can give impulse to their environment. The video for LLWD caught the spirit of the song with no cheese at all. This is 80% non cheese. So that’s my 80/20 formula. But both videos are better than most past Idol stuff.

Well RS can kiss it as far as I’m concerned. OTT Adam all the time is not going to be successful especially at this point of his career. Adam wants to be a successful artist. He is being versatile and learning when there is a time for OTT and when there is not. OTT is not the way for him to go right now considering the reaction by many to the AMA performance.

I have been thinking for a while now that Adam’s versatility with his vocal/performance style is a double edged sword for him. I love almost all the various facets of Adam’s music and performances. While there are plenty who feel like wise there are also others who are only fans of one or two facets (not saying this is wrong it’s just personal taste). So those who only like the toned down or only the WLL style etc are going to be perpetually disappointed to some degree because they aren’t getting the style they prefer all the time. Hence the range of criticism….more this, less that etc.

I think he needs to continue doing what he wants to do (I’m assuming the variety will continue) and eventually people will get used to him refusing to be put into one box. He’s so self-aware (and seems to be one who would be bored doing same thing all the time) that I believe he will be an artist who is constantly doing new things and trying stuff. Some of which may not work but I believe he has a long career in front of him. It’s his endless variety that makes him soooo fascinating. Never knowing what you will get next keeps people talking and generating buzz.

Multi-faceted layers in that video. Gotta smile. Shallow and deep all at once. This man has got a fascinating mind.

Only someone with Adam’s wide range could manage to combine spot-on marketing brilliance in a video that achingly discusses such difficult aspects of his true personal life.

Marketing wise, the panoply of Handsome Romantic Leading Man looks are completely guaranteed to swoon the fanbase. (Can barely type while swooning here.) And the seeming peep into Adam’s inner life, also bonding the fans. Vulnerable, gorgeous, crying! Yet, he’s acting. Really, really well.

At the same time, a very serious discussion about the perils of fame is going on. The swift media catnip kind of fame Adam’s amazing voice and sex symbol charisma rocketed him into.

Camera/Lover has to give in to Famous Adam’s terms in order to come back to the bedroom. Flash of Adam alone in the Garden at the end may be suggesting who knows how long that will last.

All this while showcasing a beautifully performed, excellent song.

For a new star to be so conscious of the trade-offs of celebrity is impressive. Yet, this is issue is unresolved. It’s possible it can’t be resolved in an 24/7 pixelled, papparazzi’d world.

And giving fans what they want, while maintaining artistic integrity – which in Adam’s case includes refusal to be just one kind of performer – and having even the vaguest hope of a personal life is also something close to impossible.

But discussing all of that, while looking like a movie star, is certainly an interesting treat for us all.

The one thing I find a little distracting in the video is when Adam is mouthing unheard words at the camera/lover. I would have had him continue lip-synching the lyrics to the song in those scenes.

Those scenes are placed exactly where they need to be to convey the mood and message of the video. If Adam were to mouth the words to the song at those sections, what he’s saying may not be appropriate to his actions in the video. So I really don’t think it would work very well.

I think this is one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a long time.

I think one of my favorite moments in the mv is when he gives that laugh in the apartment – it’s so brief, but it’s subtle touches like that that really add another level of interest to everything. Otherwise, it would have gotten too weighed down by all the sadness and intensity of the rest of the mv.

So true – And this is EXACTLY what won me over in the first place! When I saw that he could go from songs like Satisfaction and BoW, to something like TOMT, I was like, wow – that is something special. He proved in that moment (for me at least) that he could completely hold everything back with incredible control, which can be so much more difficult (and even risky) than being OTT.

OMG. very well-done! What a thought-provoking video. So simple yet so deep. Adam is captivating to watch. I wasn’t even paying attention to the music; his body language does the singing, for me. Very good acting chops right there, very natural. I won’t be surprise to see him in the movie/tv soon. Funny, with the video so parallel to his real life… idk, it feels like the “Truman Show” starring him, with all these excitement & anticipation to see this, then the communal viewing, and then the commenting afterwards here, in other blogs, and everywhere!

And to add, HE is GORGEOUS…i’m melting.

This is so good!! It reminds me of a coming attraction for a movie about a relationship. I want more. I hope somebody in Hollywood grabs Adam for a movie soon. I agree. Only problem is it may be TOO similar to WWFM, but that may be a smart move in and of itself – after all, how many of Daughtry’s first singles were very similar in vibe, mood, yet they all became hits, probably in part because of that familiarity, safeness, and radio- friendliness.

Not to mention, as much as Tedder can kinda suck as a “play it safe” songwriter – he does write some very earwormy, MASSIVE hits – that repetitive chorus is gonna get in your brain, that’s for sure)

Tell us how you really feel, will you? LOL. I don’t know if it will be monumentally stupid, but I am thinking that song is not a good choice either. I know Adam really likes it–and I think it is super fun and dancey etc,–but I just don’t think is impactful enough. I think it might be much too different than “WWFM”.

I have always thought Fever is the most viable hit on the record–and it is my favourite–but if I were RCA, I would release it in the Springtime, so that it has a chance to peak over the summer.

So, next single? Hmmm….I heard noises about “Sleepwalker” which might be a nice progression from “Whataya Want From Me” and I can buy into that, but I really think “Strut” might work too. There isn’t much out there with real vocal techniques like that song displays and it is more uptempo that “Sleepwalker”. And “Music Again” is critically cited as one of the best songs on the album, so does it warrant a thought? Yes, I guess it does.

These songs are SO not exactly what is on radio right now–and I mean that in the sense that they are much better than most of it, IMO–I would love to be a fly on the wall in the discussion about what is next.

IMO – Adam SHOULD play it safe for maybe the next single, at least, and so Sleepwalker would be the next one, if I was choosing things.

Then, if (and hopefully it will) that one does well, radio will have embraced him pretty fully by that point, and I would release the more dance tracks, starting with Fever (especially if he did it as a Gaga duet – that would be HUGE for him!)

I think he needs to stand on his own without association with her–at least right now–beyond songwriting and I believe he can and will!!!!! Plus, Gaga has like the Midas touch now – everything she touches turns to gold. Fever is a great song, and I have no doubt it would catch on well on radio, particularly with her “support”.

IMO it’s not about egos at this point, or even placating certain fans who don’t like Gaga. Adam loves Gaga, and some of his music is very similar to hers (they both borrow from the glam era, disco, etc.) So deciding NOT to work with her, especially if the opportunity came up, just makes no sense to me.

A lot of up and coming artists, especially in pop, collaborate with high profile artists to get that foot in the door.

PUU gets so little love from Adam and TPTB seemingly, I was so happy when he discussed it as part of the FUSE interview, but I agree that it has more potential than some others on his album and a good “transitional,” song.

Once again I agree with Mary that I think that Music Again wouldn’t do well on the radio/as a single, so despite any kind of critical acclaim (which whatever, it’s one of my least faves on the album) another stupid move if they chose it for the next single.

If it had been recorded as a duet, I might agree, but it is not a duet. Also, not to get into the logistics, but how would this occur? Him jumping up on stage to sing his song at her concert? Or her attending a future concert of his to join in? Nah, don’t get it. Unless it was on the Superbowl and The Who (yay!!) have that gig already. LOL….

Also, radio might embrace him, but they might villify him for the just the reasons you suggest. She has the Midas touch and he might be seen as “coat-tailing” it. LEt’s face it….some are willing and ready and wanting to pounce on him. The whole thing could backfire.

Adam’s foot is already in the door, and I personally think his talent is big enough and that song good enough to fling the whole door of its’ hinges all by himself.

Gaga wrote Fever but doesn’t sing it, Adam does. I don’t get the “duet” idea at all. Unless she wanted to help Adam’s career. Does she need more promo? Her own songs are doing great. Plus her next single is a recorded duet with Beyonce. Let’s see duet with Beyonce or Adam Lambert. Hmm.

The teens/preteens in my car and at holiday gatherings liked Fever, IIHY, WWFM and SFW. IIHY has a great drum intro and a cool ending. It also has a definite hook and the “di-di” stutter. It is about material things and the Hollywood lifestyle and you can dance to it. It might be a good choice for the iTunes buying younger crowd who likes Gaga and Ke$ha. Because Lady Gaga wrote the song. Because she let Adam record it in the first place, so she must have trusted him with her song. Lady Gaga must think Adam is extremely talented and capable otherwise she wouldn’t have even given the song to him. Of course on both. But I would say that GaGa is out of a lot of people’s league this year.

Mileage and all, but I don’t think it has a hook and the chorus just ruins it, think that drum doesn’t help, it’s a shade too Casio tone. And not a fan of the stutter. I was just listening to Tik Tok and Fireflies and while it has some things in common, that euro-trash chorus of IIHY just sticks out and does nothing for it.

I know some people that hate Adam, that like WWFM. I don’t see anyone who doesn’t like Adam who feels that way about IIHY.

Anyhew, I’m skeered to watch that Vevo thing. I’ve heard it amazingly stupid. Which given the outfit they put him in and the stills of it, not surprised. Oh Vevo, why?

Actually, since Adam’s Fever is already recorded , I don’t see GaGa dueting with him on this in a mv, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she got a quick little cameo in the mv, that is, if they do a mv for Fever.

I think it’s going to be exciting, too! If I could pick his next single (and it were a perfect world), it’d definitely be “Fever.” I can’t stop listening to it. I love the way he says “sexual tic tac toe,” and the chorus is a hoot to sing along to. Unfortunately, it’s far from a perfect world, and I do worry that the first line with “There he goes, my baby walks so slow…” would be enough to hold the song back in terms of general popularity.

But even as a parody, I think it suffers from weak production values, obvious idea, and it’s timing is off.

Well I liked the Pokerface stutter as well. It’s not a stutter I’m opposed to, I just don’t think the one in IIHY is done well. Hey, we clearly differ on this, cool.
