YES. MJ has a link for iTunes in her post. If you click on the Amazon or iTunes links to buy the song (or anything else), it helps support this site.

It’s amazing!!! the sound quality from itunes is off the chain compared to the rip that I got off the net over the weekend.

I used the iTunes link. Looking at Amazon, it still says not available for me. Maybe a cookie/cache issue, but they lose.

Do you think Adam will sing this song on shows and whatnot to promote the movie?

Of course not. Who would be that silly? It was just released less than half an hour ago, and the promo hasn’t kicked in yet. Plus, it isn’t even his album single. How on earth would it shoot directly into the Top 10? Adam ain’t no Britney! But hopefully it will crack the Top 10 sometime during its career.

ETA: But if it DOES shoot directly into the Top 10 tonight, then, well. That would be ridiculously amazing. But no way am I close to betting on that.

It is under his name if you go to albums then all songs. Hopefully tomorrow Itunes will get that fixed.

Also, there’s the issue at iTunes where it’s sold as both an album or a single. But, oh well. I’m just happy I’ve got it on my iPod. It sounds so much better than the leaked download. Why is that?

I almost ordered it at another site but just felt MJ would have it up and she did so bought it here. Helps MJ and Adam, what could be better. I really love this song. It shows his vocals and thats the part of Adam I like best ( the rest of him is pretty great to or as you young folks say, Hawt!

Just bought TFM from ITunes, and it sounds SOOOOO much better with a good quality copy, listening with headphones. I loved it anyway, and have been listening to it over and over, but this just makes it even better! This is fantastic!!!!!

But, give it time, and hopefully, it will be in the charts once people know it’s there. Yeah! I’ve been out of town with limited internet access the past week. I’ve come home to an Adam Storm, and it’s Time for Miracles!!

It’s gorgeous – the vocals are mesmerizing. The double tracks toward the end are thrilling. Yes, his voice is like no other.

Just got it on iTunes and listened to it with earphones while snuggled up in my bed in the dark.

Wowza!! How many times did they layer his voice at the end? Solo nicely done. Brought tears to my eyes as I let all those memories of my mom dying of cancer come back to me.

The quality of the real version. It makes the song that much more beautiful <3

The Itunes version is so superior to the Youtube cuts that have been up (Though I really appreciated them for holding me over until now)…..Baby you know that maybe it’s time for miracles….

Finally!! You need to get this as soon as you can, people! Adam’s wonderful voice is SO MUCH BETTER on the iTunes single!!

I found that on the downloaded version (even the HQ one!) the background music seemed to overwhelm his voice especially on the last half of the song. That does not happen on the iTunes version.

It’s currently on repeat on my ipod! I may not sleep at all tonight!!

And it’s mine now and is sounds somewhat better on iTunes, but yeah, his vocals are still the best thing of that song.

The sound quality was soooo much better than what we’d previously heard. I appreciated Adam’s vocals in the leaked youtube version but this version I actually want to listen to it multiple times. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing this in a theatre with a really good sound system. I love the strings combined with the texture of Adam’s voice.

Use the iTunes link up at the top of the page here, and once you’re there, look at the left-hand column. About midway down, it says Customer Ratings, then Rate This. But this is Sony’s dime, not RCA’s. Yes, they’re all the same company, but Allison and Kris, and indeed Adam’s other promotion is all 19Evil/Jive and 19Evil/RCA respectively. you know it really is. I see people saying that Adam is arrogant or douchey or whatever and I just don’t get where they get that vibe from. He’s probably one of the most gracious people I’ve seen in entertainment. He always says how honored he is to work with the people he’s working with, he recognizes what a fanatstic opportunity this whole thing is. so where does the idea come from that he’s an asshole?

I just bought TfM from I Tunes and then also from Amazon. I sent the amazon one to my daughter-in-law. And that is after listening to the You Tube version 100 times. So, does that qualify me as an official Adam Addict? (or just as a crazy old lady)

They are getting the ranking info from a real-time apple ranking program or something like that. I think the link was posted on page 1 of this thread. The Itunes store on your pc doesn’t update in real time like the apple application does.

His a great guy. I know i didn’t vote for him to win. But I really think his very talented. And I would have just been just as happy if he would have won. Even thou am A Kris fan first. I want but of my guy’s to do well. And Allison too.

I am one of those people who have been a major fan of Adam mostly because of his voice and even though I thought he occasionally took a good picture I didn’t really get the “OMG, he is soooooo haaawwtttt” feeling from him.

After looking at that picture all I can say is I FINALLY GET IT!!!! Damn, he’s hawt!!!! I mean HAAAAWWWTTTT!!!!

Adam must be so excited about having the chance to work with Lady Gaga…especially this coming on top of everything else…the soundtrack song, all the magazine covers/interviews, the album. Just…wow.

i really cannot believe how friggin amazing adam sounds on the real download. holy hell. i downloaded both itunes and amazon because i got tired of waiting for amazon but will need it for my non-apple mp3 player. both are awesome but my amazon DL sounds a tiny bit crisper to me.

Wow! This song sounds so much better downloaded than it did on youtube. I keep listening to it over and over just to hear that voice, those incredibly beautiful vocals. I am growing to be a real fan of the song, even with the transitions, especially the last part of the song. I can’t wait for the single to be released. I am almost starting to believe that I will love Adam singing anything because his voice is so identifiable, and that voice thrills and moves me.

I would have been surprised if it didn’t go like that, the fans were desperatly awaiting the song because they knew the release date and with the internet, information like this travels with the speed of light. It’s basically the same thing that happened with the amazon presales.
LLWD was also a fast riser into the top 100 and stalled at top 40-30 the day it was released without banners on itunes, heavy promotion or being the song for the movie with the biggest budget this fall.

I could take bets that the song will be on top 20 tomorrow, the only question is if it will climb even higher than that.

The iTunes Store updates much more leisurely then these RSS feeds. I learned that from watching Cook’s LO rise up the iTune charts last year. The iTunes Store may update once an hour while the feeds update every 15 minutes or so. (or something like that)

Has it been determined that they’re not going to release it to HAC or AC radio? Also, the full music video will start playing next weekend at all the showings of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” at the theaters.

The song is featured in the two largest theatrical (film) releases of the year — that should help drive sales. I assume that this song will be released for radio airplay.

I agree, he does sound really great in these high quality downloads! I’m super happy that they didn’t mess with his voice too much in this song…you can hear the grittiness in his vocals similar to his live performances. I do plan on getting the CD as well…wonder if they’ll release it as a single or if I have to get the whole soundtrack…

TMF is released in the UK next Monday. Does anyone know when the UK 2012 roadblock will be?

It’s not exactly real-time, but it is closer than the iTunes store data. Last night when it was moving up the charts rapidly, it seemed that the data refreshed about every 5-10 minutes. I beilive the iTunes store data updates no more frequently than once an hour (possibly less frequently).

I think the store updates hourly or something like that and the feed is in minutes intervals – I have him at 59 itunes store US

*confused face* This is Adam singing. This is a song that Adam is endorsing so it’s not like Want. Adam’s fanbase got him to #1 on Amazon and has kept him in the top 10 (currently at #7 with a green arrow). and I guess it bares pointing out that Adam’s Idol Season 8 album stayed in the top 60 albums for it’s entire run and never dropped like a “dead stone”

Ah, that’s an excellent point. Yeah, I can imagine it stalling for a while once it comes up against the real heavy hitters.

ETA: Saga, I do get what you’re saying about him dropping after an initial speedy rise. It’s the situation we’re all warned about, that Idol fans can only take an artist so far, and then at least some of non-Idol watching public has got to buy in or the song/album cannot sustain its momentum. And I worry about that too. But I do think that the Amazon album pre-orders are a positive sign that there are casual voters out there who aren’t buying in that first rush, but get around to it eventually. Hopefully.

But being in mid-squee during this rise up the charts, it’s hard to force myself to think anything more rational than “Go, Adam, go!”

It all depends on the weight that itunes put on the recent downloads vs older ones. I think they put more weight on recent ones than amazon because their rankings move more.

I took into account that it’s harder to go from 20 to 10 than it is to go from 50 to 30, but this track has gone from outside top 1000 to 31 in a period where most people in the US are asleep, Tuesday is the biggest day for itunes download with all the new music coming out and there is a huge banner of 2012 on the main music page on itunes.

Just to give you an idea about numbers the #10 song on iTunes sold 80,000 downloads last week. But that was for the entire week. I think to hit #10 on the chart you could probably get there with 20,000-22,000 downloads in a day. You wouldn’t have to sell all 80,000 in a day. Hope that makes sense. If anyone is an expert on iTunes feel free to correct me.

It’s so hard to gauge. Without knowing iTunes’ precise algorithm, it’s technically possible that sales are accelarating, but it’s not moving up because of the effect of each incremental position chart position getting harder and harder to climb.

Disclaimer: I am not saying that TFM sales are definitely accelerating or even that they are likely accelerating. Just that we can’t be sure.

Tha amount of sales needed to go up the chart increases exponentially as you move up. Plus the iTunes chart is weighted by past sales so that a song can move up only so fast. Amazon’s chart is based mostly on recent sales. So TfM is probably already outselling many songs above it on iTunes — since it is #9 on Amazon.

Good for Adam on the sales, because money in the pocket is always a good thing. I hope, if it effects his artistic decisions at all, he thinks “maybe I should do more rock”, not “maybe I should do more cinematic chest beaters”

Archie’s fans got Crush to #1 last year in a day. So it’s not impossible. I think Cook had a similiar run though not as quickly.

Crush may have been top 10 by this time last year. I can’t remember. Although since TFM is released in other nations, there’s less gifting to international fans.That may be a factor as well.

LO never made no 1 it peaked at 17. Also this is not Adam’s single. personally the only reason I’m watching the charts is to try and get a sense of the fan base not for any vested interest in TFM reaching no 1. This song was made to promote a movie not an artist. It’s effectiveness will measured in movie tickets sold rather than downloads.
TFM has massive promo coming, it doesn’t need the Idol fanbase. This song will sell all over the world, what’s happening today is just gravy.

Finland loves them some Adam Lambert. #2 in pop and #3 in music overall, just after Fame and Robbie Williams.

My friend has a poster of a real high res Adam concert pic someone had blown up for her at walmart. She has it tied up neatly with a bow. She keeps saying she is going to hang it above her bed, but her husband isn’t too thrilled with that idea, lol.

Most big Idol fanbases can get their fav into the top ten on iTunes. It was actually bigger news when Kris got nowhere near there. I think by the end of today it will make it to #10. Archie’s fans got Crush to #1 last year in a day. So it’s not impossible. I think Cook had a similiar run though not as quickly.

I agree the Adam’s buying fans base pushes TFM to its position. Probably more for TFM than for Crush since TFM didn’t debut at Z100, nor did it get radio spin before going to itune, and Adam didn’t promote it except for a tweet.

Also this is not Adam’s single. personally the only reason I’m watching the charts is to try and get a sense of the fan base not for any vested interest in TFM reaching no 1. This song was made to promote a movie not an artist. It’s effectiveness will measured in movie tickets sold rather than downloads.
TFM has massive promo coming, it doesn’t need the Idol fanbase. This song will sell all over the world, what’s happening today is just gravy.

I thought it hit 17 on day one . But maybe that was Pop. Or maybe that was Jason Castro. I I just know that for an Idol winner it was pretty meh. Of course he had no big banner ad, was released on Friday, etc.

Interestingly, “Fireflies” started out at as a free download from iTunes. And it just blew up. It’s charting everywhere. Downloads. Pop. HAC. Alternative. It just goes to show that are a lot of ways to market a song.

Sony is doing a kick-ass job of getting the word out about TfM. Well done! And they aren’t finished, yet. This song should post some good numbers.

Crush went to #1 in a day.

IIRC, Crush made it to #1 by like noon of release day, it was nuts. I wanna say LO peaked at #4 I *think* by late afternoonish. I remember reading blogs reviewing the iTunes top 5 which included LO. Some expected it to climb higher cuz of what happened to Crush, but it didn’t. It then debuted on Billboard Hot 100 at #17, on the strength of ~103K downloads and radio spins. Crush debuted at #2 on Hot 100.

ETA: Guys, relax, it’s not even 10am ET. TFM will keep climbing I’m sure. And secondly, I agree that this isn’t even Adam’s lead-off single for this album. That single will have more directed promo not related to the movie that will ensure quick first week sales.

Yup it’s interesting because it gives us a direct measure of Adam’s fan base. I agree that Kris’ was suprisingly small and I don’t know if the itune pass had any effect or not.

Sunn, ITA – the thing is, TFM was always really just an “insurance policy” imo, because it was an added bonus, but not the first single, and not at all meant to be indicative of Adam’s style, but rather, meant tfirst and foremost to support the film. So anything that happens with it is great, but the single matters more imo.

Also, ITA that once the mv hits with TII premiering next week – there should be a much bigger surge of interest in the song, since many many people will learn about it.

I vote for B too. If not B, then TFM probably can’t chart #20 until its music video premium before TII.

No idea…i dont think it gets sent to radio in the tradition way singles do, since its a movie soundtrack and mostly tied to the movie? I think?

And yes, the premiere of TII should give it a few spikes next week as well

It’s released now. As soon as the song is available on iTunes, any station that wants to can play it. Most of the time, the labels send the songs to the stations earlier (they have a secure digital network mechanism to distribute the songs to radio), but maybe they wanted the big premiere to be on ET.

There is no Add date for the song yet, but that’s just a suggestion to radio stations. They can play it when they like.

You can monitor spins on yes.com and once radio stations start playing the song, it will appear on the Mediabase Quickcut data.

Yeah, I’m not expecting any radio play either. It’s going to get enough exposure from both movies though.

I just keep putting this in perspective and it’s amazing. First, this is a song from glam-rock, a dead, dead, genre with no relevance in this modern era. The song broke less than 12 hours ago…middle of the night basically w/ much confusion as to release date and it climbed the charts like a speeding bullet.

It doesn’t have a lambert picture, so early purchasers are buying it based on a few tweets and some online buzz. It was illegally downloaded for 3 days and still peeps are coming back to BUY it. It will never be on a Lambert album, and still there is interest.

And biggest thing…..it’s major promo and push hasn’t happened yet. It will be totally interesting to see what happens. Is this just a fan push without legs or does Adam really have the IT factor and peeps have been waiting for a new male voice to carry on a great tradition.

I’m just a bit higher with my “I told you So” today. Hope I don’t have to bow my head in shame before this is all over.
