Adam Lambert Talks Glee and Twilight Rumors, More on the Bowie Medley

Adam Lambert is no stranger to rumors, and he addressed a few of them yesterday in an interview with E! Online at the press conference for the American Idols Live Tour yesterday.

About the rumor Adam will appear on the new FOX show, Glee:

“That’s the first I’m hearing of it,” he tells us. “I love rumors. They’re really good these days, and they’re getting better.”

Will he contribute a song to the next Twilight movie, New Moon?

“That’s just another rumor. That would be really cool. I should [do it].” Hmmm. Hello New Moon music supervisor, are you reading this?”

More detail on the David Bowie medley Adam will perform on the upcoming Idol tour:

“The show’s set list is in order of elimination. So I’m the second to last person in lineup, and we each have our own set. I’m closing with a Bowie medley that goes from ‘Life on Mars” into ‘Fame’ into ‘Let’s Dance.’ It’s doing major justice to the original Bowie intention behind them, but we’re adding synthy, dancey electronic elements to it. I’m wearing a custom-made blue metallic silver bomber jacket with tails and spikes and studs by Skin Graft. They’ve hooked me up with some really sick fashion.”

    Ahh, glad we now know it pretty much will be exactly like last year’s tour – everyone has their own set, in elim order. I am actually very happy to hear that. I was half fearful they’d do something stupid like have Adam go at the end of the 1st half or something.

    But didn’t we hear they were planning on mixing it up more, like S6? And it does make sense to do some mixing up on the first half (considering that, otherwise, I half wonder how many people won’t even show up until after intermission, with Allison, Adam, and Kris all performing then).

    Now that I think of it, I’m guessing they might switch Allison and Danny, considering the Slow Ride duet. That would be an awesome segue (not to mention, I would be VERY happy to have the show ending with Kradison!)

    Still wish the Glee rumor wound up being true :wink_wp:

    Less than a month now until I get to see the show in Phoenix July 20 — whee! Can’t wait to see this amazing jacket stud coattail thingee — sounds wild. And obviously, can’t wait to hear Adam without worrying about having to dial my black nail-polished fingers to the bone to vote for him! :doh_tb:

    I am also grateful for all the news (though I am pretty tired of HiFigate) on this sad MJ-less day. Thanks to our intrepid mj!

    The only other tour I attended was S4 & that year it was the same format – set list in order of elimination. I like it. Kind of risky though given that the show will be bottom heavy. If they switch Allison & Danny (which I would love) it’s kind of a slap in the face for Danny isn’t it? I don’t really care. It’s all about Adam for me, with Allison & Kris a distant second.

    Awww I was expecting the Glee rumor to be real. Adam would fit right in on that show! He should consider it for the future when he has time!

    Adam is everywhere today! The tour is coming up soon so we’ll be expecting more press releases in the few days I guess.

    Adam doesn’t need Glee (altho there is someone on the show who absolutely loves Adam). A song for the new “Twilight” would a great move, however.

    How does the duet thing work if they are going in order of elimination? Does Adam just appear in Allisons set or vice versa??

    I think most likely Adam’s going to sing that duet in the middle of his set and bring Allison out because he’s 2nd and they don’t want to give him an “entrance” before he’s supposed to be shown.

    Well, they largely went in elimination order in both the season four and five tours, the only ones I’ve seen. And what usually happened was that the lower finisher hung around when the higher finisher came on, they did the duet then, and the lower finisher exited.

    My experience with the tour is that they will change the order to accomodate the duets, though usually only for the lower numbered contestants (they had Kellie and Bucky go back to back in S5, and Ace performed earlier than his elim # for a duet, iirc). But then they also used the duets to segue from one to the next – so Slow Ride ending Allison’s set to lead into Adam’s would be awesome – though I agree, it would majorly suck for Danny, and he was 3rd, after all.

    So I guess they may just have Allison come out in the middle of Adam’s set(though it also worked perfectly in that Allison started the song, not Adam, which would have made the “end of Allison set” location for it ideal).

    Since there is always pandimoneum when each new person comes on stage (and there definitely will be for Adam ;-) ) it would suck to have SR introduce him, because half the song will be drowned out by screams!

    All I’ve got to say is thank God I follow MJ on Twitter. i would NEVER know what the hell was going on otherwise. So many threads, so much news. Counting down to Ontario, CA!!!! My first Idols Live and CAN’T WAIT! What? Is it three weeks from this minute when I’ll be donning my glittery silver, blue and black attire (must find something to wear …)? So. Excited. My ticket broker said my seats have a “perfect view.” (Squeee!)
